No. Arrma uses plastic main diff gears and those will last 15 battery packs, tops.
Long term wear is completely different from short term durability.

to fix the drveshaft from popping out, place like a few centimeters of nitro tubing onto both front shock shafts. When you brake, your truck leans forward so hard that it makes the perfect angle for your driveshaft to pop out.
Or could you adjust the front springs/shocks so they’re stiffer? Would that work?
Just adjust the droop with the droop screw on the arm. Fixed mine from popping out. Best part is you don't have to take anything apart. Just lift the arm to access the screw on the bottom of the arm.
The fact that it didn't break when it landed on that back wheel is pretty impressive.
that extra length ofthe chassie seems to do good and keep the car from flipping and flopping on its roof.
I noticed on the first drop the front suspension seems to break but wasn’t mentioned lol

I really love how that body looks because of how much it resembles truck like the f450 which is one of my favorite trucks of all time, though the lack of durability is kinda dissappinting

Energy absorption has been the challenge for these toy designers for decades.
They're still struggling to keep up with the performance increases.
Weight is the great balancing act because additional energy absorption results in increased weight which requires yet more energy absorption in all directions.
Honestly, I probably wouldn't watch this channel if you respected the rc's 😂 absolutely love it, good job mate!

Suggestion: how about creating the “Talbot durability scale” where you give each unit a rating based on some of the objective measures that when all added up gives you the Talbot durability scale? I’d love to work with you on that as I’ve done this type of work professionally. Like the THX certification in the Home theatre world, imagine a RC truck with the Talbot durability certification…

No surprise you love the truck. I believe it’s basically what you turned your Fireteam into.
I liked the bumper and suspension durability tests dropping off the balcony. Can we see the Xmaxx put through those tests too? it would be cool to see how it stacks up.
Nice work as always Kev. Good to see the gang again too. You shouldn't have to, but if you give that standard body the ole Kev Shoe Goo and webbing tape treatment, it might not break as easy.

The higher profile tire will give more grip off road but that truck is pretty amazing how tuff it is
I have the 3s Big Rock and I love it. When you pulled the 6s version out of the box, I really liked the color and body style.

That RC car sounds like me, Kevin. My mom loves me, but my dad thought I was a lemon when I was a kid.😂 He grew to love me and my major flaw when I grew out of it. 😂
I can't wait to see your fix for the drive shaft popping out.
Put a little piece of fuel tubing on both sides of the drive shafts, it helps keep theem centered and hopefully they wont pop out so easy.. I've used this trick many times racing and I never had a driveshaft pop out but I raced all Losi, I can't speak for Arma, lol Yes I'm a bit of a Losi fan boy 😁 when it comes to racing that is.......
Where do you put on the dog bone axle? Im just trying to picture what youre saying because id like to try it...

great vid kev! what tire glue do you use?
Pro-Line has the best tire glue i think. Plus its easy to use, iy comes with a few extra of the thin long flexible nozzles. But with those nozzles you can lay a bead of glue down evenly in a few steps around the whole wheel, as you lift up each section.
The small bottle is still going for me after like 5 sets of tires later and i only got a new one because it was basically done and i was out of the nozzle pieces. Normally i wash them in hot water after and blow thru them and usually im able to reuse them and it keeps the bottle from getting clogged. Also make sure to keep the glue of the Bottle cap threads or itll get stuck

He never put the body on the right 😂. You are supposed to slide there front underneath the front shock tower. But yeah, the body gets destroyed easily with a all those concrete upside down landings 😂😂😂

Nice one Kevin, You certainly didn't hold back testing the durability on the 6s Bigrock. Every video I've seen it's one very tough and very fast RC.
2 years of bashing my 3s Big Rock, no cracks in the body.. 1 roll over in my 6s Big Rock and I have the same rip up the side of the windshield that Kev got at the beginning of this video. Wish I had done the old drywall tape and shoe goo or something. Got it gorilla taped up now and hasn't gotten worse yet..

what kind of batteries do you use? Thinking of getting a rc car but don't know what kind of batter company to buy from for a 6s.
Arrma red has grown on me, but a blacked out interior makes the nicer bodies stand out more.
All they have to do is dimple dye these aluminum chassis. I put 4, 2 inch dimple dye in the chassis of my Kraton and it made an absolutely ASTRONOMICAL difference. In case you dont know, dimple dye are specifically designed to add structural integrity to flat pieces of metal. Not to look cool, even though it really does look cool as.
I always get anxiety when kev is durability testing rcs lol thanks kev.you do it so we don't have to.

I think you should get a Latraxx 1/18 scale desert prerunner. I have one but I think the gears are fully shredded. I mostly want to see if it will happen to you. BTY, I didn't go ham on it, it just cut out and lost drive.
But the gear mesh does sound a bit rough
Good fun and reviews . My only criticism is the constant use of battery impact drivers . Generally not needed and have a habit of ruining bolts and threads definitely not good for newbies to get into bad habits thinking that’s how it’s done and a trendy thing to have . Peeps just get a nice 1/4 socket set . And some proper screwdrivers please . 🙄
My Arrma Vorteks has that same color body and my body does the same exact thing. I wonder if the red paint they use compromises the polycarbonate in the body. I swear those same stress marks happened on my 1/10 Arrma, leaves me to believe it has to do with the paint.

I think if you did the shoe goo to the body it wouldnt be as bad I believe the problem is because of the rollcage in the body when the body compresses it cant flex because its hitting the role cage so it just breaks.
This has put me right off the 6s BR. I would never put it thru this of corz. But the body mashed up after its first roll, nah man not for me they are nearly £100 to replace. I do like it doesn’t really wheelie tho and how stable it is
This is honestly the first I've seen someone totally destroy the body. It's actually SUPER tough and the roll cage bits built into the body integrate into the chassis to make everything stiffer and stronger. Even the bumpers key into the body and you get a truck that's ultra stiff and handles absolutely amazing out of the box. It does wheelie very easily, just turn the punch up a little bit and it'll pull the front end up so fast it'll flip on its lid if you aren't quick on the throttle. I think this is one thing KT forgets in every test of an Arrma is that the punch levels can be fine tuned to get the truck to handle in the air how you want it to (same goes for braking). And what's great is if you bind the truck to a Spektrum DX5 or similar transmitter, you can get all of the Telemetry and Forward Programming functionality which lets you change ESC parameters on the fly.
