this is one of the best RC cars i have ever bought. I recently got the 1/18 Grom Typhon and it too is fantastic. These 1/18th arrma trucks are Fantastic.
I got two Groms last week for my 4yo lad and I. I think they're brilliant little things and ideal for kiddos. They're small and slow enough that they won't do any major damage to anyone or anything. Obviously never going to be like a 1/10th or bigger but I think there's definitely a fun factor they bring because they are so small. Plus it means you can just rip around in the garden or around the house too!
I was just about to say that: you can run em just about anywhere with not a lot of space. the thing about the hyper go? you can turn down the accelerator to "normal" speed and when they get better, crank in up to loony speed.
I bought two 1/10 Rival MT10 for my 4 year old daughter and myself. I did that because I turn hers down to slow to medium and she can grow with it so to speak. Thanks to kevin for the testing that led to a confident purchase.
I really love my Grom, rips a skatepark pretty well and threw some paddle tires on from the HyperGo H14 and did pretty well on the beach too. VERY worth the $130 it is in the US. I was pretty disappointed with the HyperGo, the ESC throttle lag is very annoying and I'm surprised noone mentions it in their reviews

Grom is an Aussie word - meaning - A young surfer, wakeskater, wakeboarder, snowboarder, skimboarder, skateboarder, or kiteboarder. They were having this contest for grommets. The waves were micro.
Not an Aussie word and I'm Aussie as well, used worldwide for the miniature of things like the grom dirt bikes etc too. But your right 👍 in the rest of course
Let’s raffle your UDR Kev?? Maybe do a video with it to get everyone hyped up about it? Just an idea… also, one of your planes would be cool too. Not your really expensive ones that you want to fly, but a cool one… just another idea🙄
I've just bought my first car, decided to go with the granite and it's been fun ripping it through the snow in Alaska. I want the traxxas xmax.. that's a big boy a bit pricey though.
@kevintalbotrc Please revisit the Arrma Grom line with a brushless build (or two, or three). These Grom's have a HUGE following and people are running them 30-100MPH on all kinds of systems. I think you'd have a blast with a FAST Grom.
I could use a rc truck or car when I was living in good grace after work I used to always always play now I owe child support rent lost my car due to loss of job wow wow really just spilled I used to have so much going on it's unfortunate now I watch your videos to get a smile thanks I have to live at my parents house and it really is embarrassing if I had money again I would have a rc life again I just don't have any way to fix my stamped but hey if I could have anything it would be xmax. Xmax definitely I think you are the most coolest happiest person to watch I wish I lived by you I would mow your lawn just to bash I miss it so much. Take care bud thanks for sharing.
I'm surprised to learn that I like it brushed for kids and new users. The steady low end power is much easier for timid trigger fingers. Definitely remove the shock clips from stock Groms, they sit really high stock. Overall really pleased with the quality.
Your videos are the best! My daughter and I watch them all the time. We are still trying to convince the wife to let us get some. I would love your TLR Typhoon and my daughter wants a typhoon grom. Hook it up Kevin and make our dreams come true!
Grom means “little one” from what I’ve heard 😎 I love mine. I zoom it around my basement and on the little track I made. It’s just so much fun and durable as heck! I built a miniature obstacle course in the basement and it fell to the concrete floor from about 2-3 feet high more times than I’d like to admit and nothing has broken on it yet! I personally feel it was worth every penny of the $129 price tag I paid. I just don’t understand why some people wanna hate on the Grom. Just enjoy it for what it is. It’s a small 4x4 RC car with a brushed motor and a 2s Lipo that goes 20mph. That’s all so just enjoy it. It’s not supposed to be a speed demon capable of 40-50mph speeds. Enjoy the hobby people, have fun, and stop complaining about what something isn’t. Great video as always, Kevin. 🤘🏼
And still, that MJX is nearly half the price and does reach 40mph on 3S. Yes, the video is wrong. Check any other video on the MJX 16208 and it's 40mph or 65kmh.
@@janklaassen6404 that’s cool. But I still prefer the Grom. Just my personal preference. I have plenty of regular RC cars 1/10 scale and bigger that go plenty fast. I’m personally not interested in any of the off brand RC cars like MJX. There’s zero parts support from any local hobby shops by me. And my local hobbytown has never even heard of MJX, or WLToys, or Haiboxing, etc. And they break so easy. My neighbor has two hyper gos for his boys. They aren’t even hard on them. But every time they drive them, something breaks. And they’re always waiting for up to a week or more for parts in the mail. The hobby isn’t fun when you have cars that are on your workbench more than you’re driving them. Again just my opinion. There’s plenty of people who like the hyper gos and if that’s what makes them happy that’s all that matters.
@@janklaassen6404 I’m also curious where you shop online? Because the cheapest I’ve seen the MJX 16208 anywhere is $110 from TEMU. That’s only $19 less, and nowhere near “half the price” of the Grom as you’re claiming. In fact, I’ve not seen any of the MJX hyper gos for nearly half the price of the Grom. They’re either all just as expensive, and in some cases, much more expensive. And even from TEMU at $110, by the time you add shipping and handling and taxes, it’s nearly the same price as walking into a hobby shop to buy the Grom. If you’re finding the MJX 16208 somewhere for $70-$80 please tell me where because at that price even I might buy one.
@@OGRCFanatic I think we just value aspects of an rc car differently. I actually prefer not to visit physical stores and really enjoy the low prices. As for durability, that's hard to determine. There are basher video's in skateparks that they survive. And I really enjoy the high top speed. It looks crazy for such a small car. I like to race on the street among cyclists. They all think it's an impressive toy. I get lots of smiles and positive remarks. It if you like Arrma, like to visit local stores, like instant parts, then sure. Do your thing. It's about what you like. If you enjoy your purchase, then that's all that matters.

I really like the Arrma TALION it looks really cool and is like you said between buggy and truck known as truggy. This looks like it will be really strong and fast therefore I would love to own one.
I'd like an armma or maybe a mini Maxx or crawler. Would be sick love the videos!
I can smell the brand new monster truck🎉
Let’s raffle your UDR Kev?? Maybe do a video with it to get everyone hyped up about it? Just an idea… also, one of your planes would be cool too. Not your really expensive ones that you want to fly, but a cool one… just another idea🙄
Kevin it keeps saying it failed when I purchased it
I've just bought my first car, decided to go with the granite and it's been fun ripping it through the snow in Alaska. I want the traxxas xmax.. that's a big boy a bit pricey though.
Bought a Nitro Traxxas new for $375
I love my granite grom but I would LOVE one of your X-maxx shipped to my door 😝
I WANT YOUR XTR ! It will be great in my collection !
@kevintalbotrc Please revisit the Arrma Grom line with a brushless build (or two, or three). These Grom's have a HUGE following and people are running them 30-100MPH on all kinds of systems. I think you'd have a blast with a FAST Grom.
nice car 💛💛
I could use a rc truck or car when I was living in good grace after work I used to always always play now I owe child support rent lost my car due to loss of job wow wow really just spilled I used to have so much going on it's unfortunate now I watch your videos to get a smile thanks
I have to live at my parents house and it really is embarrassing if I had money again I would have a rc life again I just don't have any way to fix my stamped but hey if I could have anything it would be xmax. Xmax definitely I think you are the most coolest happiest person to watch I wish I lived by you I would mow your lawn just to bash I miss it so much. Take care bud thanks for sharing.
put a tumble dryer next to the raminator for scale.
I'm surprised to learn that I like it brushed for kids and new users. The steady low end power is much easier for timid trigger fingers. Definitely remove the shock clips from stock Groms, they sit really high stock. Overall really pleased with the quality.
The mjx is a great little basher 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
All your collection are great and your so lucky your arrma 8s outcast is what I would love to win for me and my son to get into the rc hobby 😊
The granites body release design reminds me of my xmod Hummers body release mechanism
Your videos are the best! My daughter and I watch them all the time. We are still trying to convince the wife to let us get some. I would love your TLR Typhoon and my daughter wants a typhoon grom. Hook it up Kevin and make our dreams come true!
I have purchased 5 of these hyper go trucks lol . Great budget truck
I wanna see you do an Electric Raminator and a Xmaxx crawler build. Imagine getting the crew together for a 1/5 scale crawler video!
@@janklaassen6404 right on 🤘🏼😎
Grom means little one!!!!
Outcast 8s for my son would be “EPIC”!!!
The arrma outcast is my absolute favorite. It would be a dream to own him. greetings
