The charger that comes with the Grom won’t do 3s, and then if you buy a Smart Charger you need to buy an IC2 to IC3 adapter in order for it to work. It’s only ~$8, but still it’s incredibly inconvenient. FYI, the part number for the adapter is: SPMXCA532. Thanks for the great content as always 💪
I've been watching your videos for a few weeks, the last time I was into R/C was the late 80s early 90s, but since watching your channel I've spent several hundred dollars already 😆 I bought 4 RC cars in the past month, I got the devastator mini crawler/monster truck, throwing real monster truck tires on mine with hub extenders, but I'll keep a set of tires for crawling, I enjoy watching all your videos, I like the boat videos best overall, but I like the crawler and bashing videos as well, keep up the good work have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 🎄🎁🎉

My Mojave does 52mph, I love it. You may have to turn down the stability in order to go a few extra miles an hour faster. To do that, you hold the wheel full lock to the right and press the power button, since I know you don't like reading instructions. So I don't have that many batteries and everything else I own is on a FlySky, but for the groms I just left them on Spektrum everything and bought a cheap Spektrum charger. If I want to go anywhere for a few days, I have one little bag that has everything I need in it and I'm good to go.

3:39 i have experienced simaler problems with traxxas trucks. From my experience it is caused by the TSM aka the gyro. You can fix it by tuning the gyro to max then to zero then to where you want it. Idk if this is the same problem!
I like how Kev has recreated the famous workbench . It makes the transition to the new location less jarring and brings back memories of hilarious live streams from the bench. Ps.. more large scale please . Mcd rr5 . Raminator. Losi 5B . Dragon hammer v2. Kraken . It’s totally renewed my interest for rc instead of getting hypnotised to sleep watching 1/10 cars buzzing round on small carpet tracks. Get out in the woods!!!.

These things are just straight-up awesome. Like the speed of them for their size is unreal. Best mini rc of the year in my opinion. Followed by the mini maxx.
Awesome stuff Kev. All of the reviews on those Groms have been good. I think physics wise the smaller cars like that are just lighter and more compact size for size than larger cars, that makes them a bit more durable. I was hoping the cat would jump into the box you were unpacking.

I’m normally a rock crawler guy, partly because I’m paranoid about breaks. But I got the Mojave Grom BLX and it is practically indestructible. Next up, 3s packs for the Grom, and after that, Mojave 4s
I've got a few 1/5 rc cars, a few 1/8 and some other larger sized rc cars but my 223s Typhon grom is still one of my favorites! PS Kev try putting some Granite grom tires on the Typhon. Immediately more stable!
Just got two Typhon Grom 223s for my Godson and his Dad for Christmas... But of course now I'm sitting here debating getting either the Typhon or the Mohave for myself. Bah...
You know Philip jolley got 57 mph bone stock with an SMC 2200 3s lipo. I think 3 adapters and a drone lipo might be slightly outside of "normal" conditions

The Spectrum Smart batteries are really goofy. They balance internally, so it doesn’t make any sense why you can’t use a traditional charger and non-balance charge them and let the internal balancer sort it out. The only reason I can think is that Horizon wants to grab as much of your cash as possible. Kev bought that 3s battery and now the only way he can charge it is if he buys a new Spectrum charger. We need to get back to universal standards like there were in the 80’s and 90’s when every model had a Tamiya connector and you only needed one type of charger lead. Now I have an entire drawer of dongles, and still need more. 🤦♂️

BTW, you aren't hitting posted speed because of the temperature. I've watched many others hit 50 with the Mojave and faster with the Typhon.

The servo is new, maybe it is cold winter, the internal grease needs to be heat up a little bit. The servo is very fast on my car.
