I love selling these at the hobby shop I work at. Something else we have discovered is drill a 3/16-1/4” hole right under the spur gear to allow dirt to escape. Really helps with the longevity of the spur gear.
Hi Tony! Great video man! I agree 100%. I have a Mojave , and a Fireteam and they are big, fast, and awesome but the ones I always go back to are my Big Rock and Granite and also the new Gorgon. There is just something about the the 3s (and now 2s) lineup. For me, they are fast and fun and just the right size for my small yard whereas my big boys have to go to a park or somewhere for me to run them. I was totally shocked at how good my Gorgon was on 2s, i had totally intended to make it a 3s but after running it, I found that surprisingly, I liked it as it was. Maybe I'll throw in a stronger servo because of my extra deep grass but for most people I think it's fine right out of the box. The Granite and the Big Rock are just so fast and fun and take so much abuse, they really are my go to 's! I hope that you and yours are doing great my friend! I'm trying to hang in there. 💯🤜🤛
@@CCxRC I have to admit that I was really surprised by it, it's drive train is super strong and it's a lot of fun on 2s! I think we tend to forget how much fun a 2wd truck can be since most of our rigs 4x4 these days and the Gorgon really surprised me, it was fast on 2s, really tough and lots of fun. The price point is a bargain for how good it was. The only weak point that I found was the body being rather thin, but that is easily remedied by gorilla tape or t Rex tape before the first run. The drive train will easily handle 3s if you want to go there but honestly it did great on a good 2s high c rating battery! Hope you are doing well my friend! 💯 🤜 🤛

I have three Granite trucks love them, so if you like the granite, you’ll just love the Redcat MT 1080 almost too much on 3S total blast comes with lights also
I’m curious what type of 3s battery you’re using? You seem to be getting pretty decent run time. I bought my granite about a month ago, also the green one 😁 And my LHS guy recommended I buy a power hobby 3s 5200mah 50c continuous 100c burst battery, so I trusted him. Since it was much cheaper than the spektrum 3s smart battery. And I will admit 90% of my driving is in grass that’s probably medium to low height in my yard. And after only 4-6 minutes or so I notice the car goes into low voltage cut out mode, where everything still operates, steering, forward, reverse, but the car just creeps back to me. And when I put the battery on the charger, it’s definitely depleted. Which makes me wonder all kinds of things. Is it the battery, the ESC, the motor, etc draining it prematurely. I love this thing, but just when I seem to start having fun, the power hobby battery is drained. Also, I made this comment at the 11:07 mark of this video so your definitely getting much better run times than me. Well Nevermind. 😂 I saw you pull off the body to check the motor temp and see you actually have the spektrum smart battery my LHS guy steered me away from! 😡
Switch the car Lipo mode if you're using a lipo battery or it'll go into low voltage mode when it doesn't need to. It's set for nihm batteries I believe
I just got the 4s Outcast and replaced the stock fan immediately with an aluminum Amazon special that moves way more air. I can run it on a 8500mah for almost 45 min doing wheelies back and forth and the motor barely gets warm. For less than $20 delivered I highly recommend this for just about any car that comes with a plastic fan.
@@CCxRC I'm not sure what happened. I posted a link and it looks like my reply was taken down? The fans are made by HOBOHY and say Rocket on the side. I used a 30mm fan for my car but yours may be different. Just a heads up, I had to reuse the original screws and put a washer between the aluminum housing and the fan grill so the screw heads won't pull through. If you use the correct size washer you can't even see them. I hope this helps! 🤓
Tony what a awesome video. Really enjoyed it. You have such a beautiful yard. Daughter wants a Big Rock, is there much of a difference? Also have you tried the spektrum basher batteries? Thanks again for a good video!
I bought a few of the Megas for the kids... Overheated the ESC 3 minutes into 1st pack and the brushed motor lasted about 6 packs, really wish I did the BLX.. the chassis is wonderful.

I just ordered one of these. I've been playing with a Hyper Go H14BM but it's kind of not fully hobby grade. Two hex screws fell out on steering linkage and arm, it won't drive straight no katter how i trim it... I am on 3s and less than a month in (2 bashes a day though...) and i think i can hear the spur stripping (my MJX 14301 spur stripped fully so i am familiar with the sound) and the fact that those two hexes fell out just because rocks got into the where the servo meets the linkage (i think that's what it's called) i am not sure how long the lil Hyper Go will last. Like i said, i try to bash twice a day (it's good therapy) and I'm not 100% happy with the MJX standard of quality.
Great bash 👍 Everytime I bash my granite 3s. I blow the rear diffs never fails like 5 times already. I never had the problem with big rock, vortek, infraction 3s or outcast 4s. next step is trying out 4s diff for it. It’s cool looking truck and have a lot of hops on it. I haven’t gave up on it yet. 😎
Have you considered adding a Outcast Wing to the Granite for protection to keep the body from getting chewed at the read,, one of the best mods I've done, can also the wing for a wheelie bar if you don't mind scraping it.
I agree. The Rival MT10 is a sweet basher. I haven’t tried the V2 yet which I think goes for $399? The V1 MT10 stock tires weren’t my favorite, but overall the rig could take a beating.
270 with 54.12 for five months and no interest on Amazon atm. Have to pull the trigger on this. I haven't messed with RC in years and I plan on getting a couple 2s batteries to start since this baby does over 30 with them. Gonna get the red. Nice. Edit: The first payment was 70 cause of tax. I get this baby tomorrow :)
Only run it for 5 to 8 minutes… then let it cool down?? That’s ridiculous. They have temperature sensor shut offs in place, they don’t over heat when stock. I’ve run my arrmas for over a year now and I’ll pick one vehicle and run two or four battery packs through it in a row with no cool down time. Every time I finish a pack the batteries cool and the motor is cool is from 60 to 85. I think I drove my cars in 95° weather once for one or two packs in a row but then I was overheating, not the car lol I think your 5 to 8 minute recommendation is good for Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Australia, and 10 or 20-year-old electric cars
Nice video bro..👍 You need to change to gpm metal drive shaft and gpm metal shock tower, granite will have problems with the drive shaft and shock tower being damaged because the plastic material is not very resistant.. I have changed it, now there is no more problem..🥰🥰🥰
I've been trying to decide if I want to get a 6s Notorious or get more 3s and 4s RCs. I feel my XRT is too large, and I don't get the enjoyment of running that I do from My Outcast 4s (my favorite current RC). I also have come to prefer Arrma's vehicles over the other big brand.

It’s a large cement pipe that is above the ground but under the the hill. It allows the front yard to drain to the back so it doesn’t become a pond. Extending it soil out a pipe down the whole yard. But a lot of it just comes from the general grade of all the yard to that spot to go toward the river. Digging up the front area is problematic because of the natural gas lines. I’ll be doing some drain tiles in other areas and may try some there.
