I always appreciate your RTR reviews, some folks run it and it performs exceptionally well only to tell you that it has been modded. You actually run this factory stock straight out the box. It gives folks a realistic demo before purchasing. I love that ARRMA jumped into this market, the GROM series are a fantastic starting point for newbies and re-entry. Great job as always! You think they'll do something like a 1/12 or 1/16 Limitless? Would be cool since HH did release the 1/12 Nascar.
Very cool setup out of the box. It seems to have plenty of power for having fun without upgrading. Perfect for skate parks. You sure did an excellent job. You should be an Arrma sales person or pro driver. 👍👍
I can’t wait to get my hands on one. That little thing is awsome. First upgrades, the little Castle system that they make, and the proline tires they make for the mini Revo, just to get some wheels speed for backflips
Nice little truck. Smaller cars can be lots of fun when running on the right locations 🙂 Nice with oil shocks thats not so common in 1/18 scales from what I have seen.
We picked up two the other day and haven’t put them down. Fast, very quiet, handles great. We were thinking about picking up another one and converting it to brushless right away.
MJX Hyper Go makes a competent Infraction-style road car that absolutely rips. I've got the rally car version and I've beat the living shizz out of it for months. You can get it with 3S included and it does like 40mph out of the box.
I only have three runs in but love it so far. The motor does get pretty toasty so after running it hard so watch those temps. I'm thinking of putting some putty in the rear diff for a limited slip effect
Thanks for the unboxing and demonstration! I picked my Grom up yesterday, and it's charging. I agree that it would be great if Arrma did more with the smaller scale.
Great video buddy !! Guess it’s the first from this rc that’s not from arrma. The price is pretty awesome just a bummer you can’t order those and of course we’ll have to wait for it way longer over here in europe it’s not even announced
Talked to a guy at Horizon. They’re putting the performance parts back on their website this week. He said it was some kind of mistake causing them all to be removed from their website
I’m already sold on this one. Have been for a bit. I’m just waiting for my LHS (hobbytown) to get the green one in stock. They have like 30 but they’re all the red ones, or red and blue ones like yours. Great video.
For just being as basic a car as arrma has ever made, it looks fantastic and seems to live up to the name brand, even being brushed. NICE! Well done to you also for a great review!
I like it better than the Teton because it quieter, fast, and definitely handles better. We just bought a Hobbywing brushless system to convert the Teton.
My stock one is awesome, and I am glad that I bought it. I run it on the slower speed, and it is still really fast. The brushed motor gets real hot, so I won't be using it on hot summer days. However, it's hard to beat the HBX 1/18 and HBX 1/16 brushless trucks for less money.
Ok so 3 days with it and ive got a couple complaints about it. 1st is the battery onnector. We get space for a bigger battery but the ic2 is extremely limited right now. 2nd is the plastic cvd cups and plastic planetary gears in the diff. 3rd is the radio/servo, its way too sensitive for how quick this truck is. Its a great model and the point is to get the people into the brand, not just the hobby. Its a long wait for january, so be easy with it.
Could this ever take on the older larger granite ? I expect it is a lot lighter and more maneuverable than the larger , perhaps with a brushless motor it could even beat the larger Granite.
First Grom!!! 🤙🏻Hey them Arrma batteries are gonna b worth a few bucks in a couple!😝😉 I’ve got a few sets myself. Looks like a nice addition to my littles. Fairly priced as well!👍🏻👍🏻❤️🔥
Two things I'd like to know concerning the battery - how long does the stock battery take to charge using the charger provided and what sort of run time can be expected from it? Thanks for the video, I'm hoping to get one of these when they become available in the UK.
@@mauriceharvey4300 no problem, I ended up getting another one just because my first one is awesome. Heads up on the plastic couplers that connect the diff to the dog bones, they’re stripping on me but that’s the only weak point I’ve found after hours of skate park abuse and some general bashing
Ehhhhh... the MJX Hyper Go, the HBX and the Redcat Volcano offer a lot more value in this size class. You can get the MJX trucks, brushless, fans, separate ESC and receiver for under $100 if you're willing to wait a few weeks.
Exactly. You just mentioned the main reason why most people will never buy the WL Toys, or MJX, or any of the other China junks. You have to wait weeks for parts support. A little less money, and a little more speed, are not worth terrible parts support. What’s fun about an RC sitting on your work bench waiting nearly a month for parts? I had an MJX hyper go. Loved it at first. But the novelty wore off fast when things started going wrong and I was waiting on parts more than I was driving it. When the parts finally arrived the last time, I fixed it and gave it to my neighbors kids. Parts support alone will make the Grom worth it.
@@OGRCFanatic thing is that these brands are also finding their way to local hobby shops. Near my place there's a store selling a lot of the Horizon brands like Arrma and Losi, but also wltoys. Including parts in stock. That makes these brands extra attractive because parts are cheap. Just a small percentage more expensive than Chinese webshops and sometimes even cheaper. I disagree that it's all junk. It might be built to its price but if you use that as a reference some of the a-brands are often built sub par compared to their price. They now also sell FTX, MJX and Maverick, electronics from Castle to Surpass hobby etc.
Don't need another rc, don't need another rc, don't need another.... Ah, screw it, it's getting added to my collection. I don't know what it is but I prefer the 16th and 18th scales over the 10th and 8th scales.
PLEASE DO A PARTS RETROFITTING VIDEO WITH THE HYPER GO. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A SHARED PLATFORM BY THE LOOKS OF IT. WHEN YOU DID A BOTTOM OF CHASSIS VIEW THE BUMPERS SEEM TO BE SIMILAR AND POSSIBLE FIT WHICH LEADS THE QUESTION... WHAT ELSE IF ANYTHING FITS?

Arrma should make mini out of all their models, and I would buy them all. Didn't think limitless that would be awesome.
They would have all my money
sammeeee

Same ! Typhon would be my number 1 purchase if they had a mini version
I'm getting this Grom ASAP and gonna make a comparison vid with the ftx tracer
Summit racing is shipping them wich its wierd but they do have them.
Brother that thing flies through the air!! Even when you wrecked you didn't. 😊😊Amazing car!! Great vehicle Arrma!!😊😊

Absolutely love mine I put some different tires on it which kinda geared it up this things awesome
I've had mine for a couple weeks and it's amazing. My son is getting one for Christmas. Took mine to the BMX park and it did awesome.
These are a blast to run. Saw someone got theirs going 60+MPH already.
that's overkill
@JayTeeRC I'll go brushless, but 35-40mph would be the most I would want. I do use this indoors too.
I'd love to see a mini Typhon, personally. I love that car but I don't have much of a use for the 1/8th scale.
I only have three runs in but love it so far. The motor does get pretty toasty so after running it hard so watch those temps. I'm thinking of putting some putty in the rear diff for a limited slip effect
Bring a small ice pack with you and put it on after a run
That 1:18 granite is one tuff truck excellent content bro!!!💯🔥
ty!

Your video is, by far, the best one so far on the GROM … and you driving the shit out of it🤙

Some suspension and just a little brushless system and you got a nice little performer in the “tiny truck” sector.
I would love to see a 1/18 Mojave/Senton too. That would kinda bridge a gap in the mini scale community
For just being as basic a car as arrma has ever made, it looks fantastic and seems to live up to the name brand, even being brushed. NICE! Well done to you also for a great review!
everything about this model is a game changer. calling it a mega leads me to believe a BLX version is in store.
I like it better than the Teton because it quieter, fast, and definitely handles better.
We just bought a Hobbywing brushless system to convert the Teton.
I have a Teton, and it's mostly on the shelf. Latraxx cars are really cool, but I don't drive them much. I'd like to see what you do with that Teton.

I never knew I wanted a mini Limitless till right now.
My dream is a mini Typhon 😍 gotta get me one of these granites too! Love ❤️ it
Awesome vid as always! I now really want one of these.
Go for it!
Wow super cool man great gift to give this year and have one myself!!

I feel like it needs more torque/quick acceleration. Not necessarily top speed. How does this compare to the mini e-revo.

Great video. What skate park is that?
I own this car and so far I love it❤ fun car for a 20 mph rc !
Wiil probably use it in winter on the frozen pond
Isn’t the meaning for grom little one
How does it compare to the La Trax Teton and pre runner?

I’ve had an hour and a half charge time from dead and I get around 20-40 minute runtime depending how I drive

It charges in about 30 minutes last 18 to 22 minutes
How long does the car run for and fast does it go.Do you know ?
Which park are you at? I live in the Atlanta area
Doing better than my 1/16 Slash. Jealous!🤣
