- The Supra name is one of the most iconic in the auto industry. Toyota continues on with the Supra for 2022. This sports car is meant to go up against the Porsche GT4, BMW M2, Nissan Z, and BMW M240i. On the outside there are 19in wheels, LED lighting and a very unique shape. On the inside you will find leather sport seats, digital gauge display, and some cargo space. Under the hood is a 3.0L turbocharged straight-6 pumping out 382HP. Is the 2022 Toyota Supra 3.0 a BETTER performance car than a BMW M240i?

@@najminmalcusis15 I spent $58,250 for the 3.0 premium . Plus $2750 mark up . After tax/license /mark up /6 years interest it came out to $75,000 . Believe it or not that is a good deal . In CA most dealerships have an $8000-$10,000 mark up on them

This car is amazing. I work as a valet driver in LA, so I get to drive many cool cars everyday and this one is one of my favorites, to me the fact that its a Toyota with BMW parts just makes it perfection, its like they joined what I like more in both

when it first came out didn't have enough imagination to realize that this car would be the perfect platform for modification into whatever they wanted.

The buffeting can be eliminated in the aftermarket with wind buffeting eliminator. You can get a carbon fiber or non-cf. A downpipe, intake, and tune would definitely push it over 420 whp. This Supra is geared towards the aftermarket and enthusiasts.
Is there aftermarket exhaust available for this? I’m thinking about getting this once my TLX lease ends, but the exhaust note is underwhelming.

A first gen Supra was the first car I went over 100 mph in. My girlfriends dad had one and let me drive it and did triple digits in 1988. WANTED a Supra ever since!! Now that I can afford one it's a BMW!!! 🤔😂

I’ve only seen one of these on the road around my area and it’s pretty sharp looking. Love the color combo. You’d think it would be a tad quicker than the BMW being lighter but the AWD in the BMW is the difference. I think the Supra would be more fun to toss around. When the GR Supra first came out 2 years ago, I was very skeptical about it being Auto only, but now that the GR Supra (sharing some parts with the Z4) has a manual, I am so excited to see it next month at my Toyota dealership.

I would LOVE a Supra because it looks super sporty and sleek but 240i is just a better practical car with awd that will help in the winter time and still be a fun car to drive

This car being slow to gain popularity is actually one of its best attributes. I will have my manual GR Supra in a few weeks and it’s nice to know I will rarely see another one. This is a home run for Toyota.
Its a $10 fix on Amazon on the window buffeting thing...

The 6MT Supra will be THE ONE to get for any enthusiasts. It's going to become an instant classic. Mk5 with a 6-speed as it should have been. Even though it'll be a touch slower, it's going to be the driver's drive compared to the new 400z. Civic Type R is probably going to be the nearest competition but that is a FWD ! Just can't be beat with the feel of a 6 speed RWD roadster.
Uh, the M240i is coming soon in RWD and a 6 speed too and if you really want to smoke a Zupra, the M2 in the spring

@@supralyfe1206 Barely 3 year old car at the oldest and none of them are over 100k, so basically zero indication of reliability. Unless by reliable you mean doesn't fall apart during the warranty 😂
@@cosmic_gate476 there’s quite a few around the 60-80k mile range. That haven’t had any issues but by your logic you can’t call it reliable or unreliable so either way your statement is null.
I think this thing is a beast especially tuned and modded. But for me waiting for the RWD 240i or the new M2. Now if Toyota ever gave this the S58 motor game changer
My favorite car I. have ever owned was a red 1984 Supra sport with the rear window sunshade.
These cars look great in person. Every time I see pictures of them online the are always ... eh. When you see them in person the design and presence really sticks out, great car, I cant wait to get mine.
This will be my first Toyota sportscar to buy.

Joe - It's tough to decide between the Supra vs M240, since the Supra has so many BMW parts. But on looks alone, I go with the Supra. The M240 has too many angles that do not flow through out the car. If anything, I like the previous generation 2-series better.

I have an m240i and it looks much better in person and I can actually fit in it (6’3”) with no vision obstruction. Can’t say that about the Zupra
SMH..tough to decide because the Supra has so many bmw parts? Yet consider a car that is made of 100% bmw parts? What??

Loving the Supra I think it's a dandy of a sports car but The vents are there to break up what could be a plain old boring side panels. Rhey're growing on me.

@@RaitisRides If the vents were not on the sides then the side panels would just be a rather boring piece of metal but they look good.
I rented one on Turo for a few days. I loved it. This Supra is a magnet on the street and highway. but the location of the wireless charging with plasticky thing was super annoying. For me, If i can afford Porsche, I will buy the 718 Cayman 4.0. If not, I will buy the Supra.
You can remove the plastic cover. It’s just held on by two clips. One of the first things I did when I got mine

Joe. The problem with the mismatched door panels really relates to the hot dog problem. In this instance I think you can only have sauerkraut on one side and not the other. It’s just not right!

If l didn’t live in the Midwest I would definitely had considered the Supra. Just ordered the 2023 m240 instead. Better daily driver and x-drive for the winter make it a no brainer for me. Love that it will have the new iDrive 8 curved display. Can’t wait!

Smart man. The Zupra is not really practical. If you’re over 6 feet tall you can get claustrophobic in there with terrible visibility out the front and back

I must say, only Supra does red interiors right. It’s just the right hue, unlike the horrible screaming red of the Honda Type R's, Corvettes, and Integra's.

M240 is easily modded as well. Same engine. But with all wheel drive and a back seat, more practical. Especially for us northern folks. Stock for stock, m240i beats it 0 to 60. Love the body styling on the supra better. But both great vehicles. Was about to pull the trigger on an m240 but recent news of a possible xdrive M2 has me second guessing.
I always wanted a supra, but the checkbook couldn't handle the cost of admission.

A cheap $40 Aftermarket part fixes the wind buffeting immediately. Takes about 30 seconds to install too.
I sold my 2021 Supra and just pre order the 2023 A91 MT CF Supra.

This is easily the best performance car in it's price range when you factor in styling, aftermarket performance upgrades, and expected reliability. People seem to forget that the B58 in the Supra was required to pass Toyota's stringent quality control standards & stress tests prior to selling. It's a major reason why you don't hear about any major reliability concerns from the Supra since their release almost 3 years ago. Great highway mileage makes it a potential daily driver and weekend monster All-In-One, and it consistently breaks necks anywhere you go. The value of the 3.0 will stand the test of time!

The left or right axle shaft may be missing a retaining ring, which could allow the axle shaft to separate while driving….How long has this design been out and it’s still getting recalls? Also there’s 485 technical service bulletins for the 2021 models. Average number is under 100. Camaro is at 485.
I bought exactly this color. The only problem with it being BMW is I now like BMW's more. My next car will definitely be a BMW now. I love this thing

Thank you , I had a Supra in 1994 and it was expensive and not that great of a car unless it was heavily modified. Too much FF hype. I much prefer my Mk5 stock

Regardless of performance, I tried to buy a Supra but Toyota was miserable to deal with. BMW dealers are much better at selling BMWs than Toyota is at selling BMWs. I started shopping for a brand new 2023 Supra 3.0 Premium, ended my car search by buying a BMW M240i xDrive and I could not be happier. I got the better car for less money.
I’m only interested in a manual! So Patience is the answer!

I hate the door. I wish they would have done it differently. And I hate that stupid center console left side pad thing. The concept car looked a lot better. I'm waiting for the NISMO Z. Then I'll decide between the Surpra, the NISMO or the M2.
