255hp/295ft.lb. 150+mph Top Speed is all any enthusiast needs away from the track. MPGs are great, handling is tops, while the price is a bit high. But the quality is super. For me, the bulbous design is out of the question. Mazda Miata RF for me.
Really wish Yota would've just thrown this power plant in the 86 and just offered the Supra with the 6! But everything is all about $ and guess some numbers guy told them it wouldn't be lucrative! Oh well. Great review as always! ✌🏽❤️✊🏽
It should be "If you're ready, I'm Raiti!" But seriously, I just Built My Own on Toyota's website and have more zonks! There are few options, with just one of 2 package choices. No manual transmission option and it says it's only compatible with IOS phones. Big deal-breaker!
Although a four-cylinder Supra may sound sacrilegious to diehards, there's a silver lining. R&T also reported the four-cylinder model will be the ideal candidate for inevitable 2JZ swaps; the 2JZ is Toyota's famed inline-6 engine found in the MKIV Supra. The car's chief engineer Tetsuya Tada encouraged future Supra owners planning on 2JZ swaps to "please buy the four-cylinder. It will be cheaper."
The thing is, regardless of the Supra's dynamics it has two strikes against it. 1) It is ugly and 2) automatic transmission only. The new Nissan Z is a much better option than the Supra (V6 + M/T starting at $40,000). $44,000 for a four cylinder Supra is right in the middle of Mustang GT territory. I would take the Mustang EcoBoost over the Supra also because the styling is better and manual transmission is an option
Supra's literally just gotten the manual model. Only reason why it seems so underpowered compared to competitors is because they kept it just like the previous generations performance wise. It's obviously faster off the start and has better handling, but it behaves the same and even has the same top speed of 155mph
@@bigmooseplays But, the manual transmission is only available with the 6 cylinder engine. If we're comparing four cylinder cars, automatic only is a non-starter (for me anyway) The thing is, you can get a *convertible* turbo four-cylinder Camaro with a manual transmission for $12,000 less than a four cylinder Supra.
@@markallen2984 because the Camaro is made in America and designed for the American market. That same car, say over in the UK, would be at least £30,000 more than the supra is
@@bigmooseplays So? Do you mean that you are in the UK so that your value calculation is different? Of course value is always a factor in such decisions. I have no doubt that the Supra has a better standard of quality and uses better materials than a Camaro but cost is always a persuasive factor. I am not a fan of general Motors in particular, but I live in Los Angeles and a convertible is usable year-round and here in our market the Camaro is a very good value. It actually handles very well and is quite fun to drive, but although the chassis is regarded as very well engineered, the interior is rather entry level
Someone needs to compare this base 2.0 supra vs the base Nissan Z. I think the results might surprise people how close they are considering this is a 4 cylinder
@@RaitisRides the base Z has 245 width tires and n on lsd. The performance Z already has bad traction problems. The base Z is going to suffer even more. The 2.0 supra is going to match it in performance tests. In the end, in a drag race your base Z will basically be barely beating the 2.0 supra because it puts down the power better and a better transmission
I'm waiting for the day some Supra 2.0 owners fully manual swap their 8-speed auto using the stock A91 manual shifter and if they do, maybe that person will let you drive their manual transmission 4-cylinder Supra once they do it.
I like the Supra but it's to Expensive, like your gonna be spending over 65K in canada for the 2.0 you can get a mustang ecoboost or a Camaro for cheaper that's more bigger and has more power

@@RaitisRides Good advice , Joe.
Keep the FRS!
I have had many cars including 2.0 Supra .Frs was my favorite car. Now Supra 3.0 is where it’s at just no backseat and lose a little steering feel. There is a lot of hate for no reason other than it’s a Zupra.
@@RickStarzz you think the 3.0 is worth the price? I’m trying to justify spending that much money
a German Supra made in Austria with a Japanese badge on it 😂, holy cow.
Supra has my vote.
Thanks for sharing your vote
the color on this supra is badass..like if there was any color that would do this car justice it would be this one. my choice would go to the bmw supra though lol
I saw this car in this color drove by me yesterday and it looked really good
It’s an old man retirement home colour
@@mohamedalkaboom , Huh?
@@Rocket9944 grey
Looks great! Just seems priced a bit high considering the competition out there.
These should be low 30’s
What do you think the price should be
@@Freddy_Confetti an Elantra N is mid 30’s
@@RaitisRides should be right around 40-42.5. Especially with the new Z starting at 40. I mean if you go top trim for this around 47k you may as well shell out the extra 5 for the 3.0 lol
thanks
You are so very welcome!
0:10 My son: "Daddy, he doesn't know how to park."
I love it Joe and Lori and keep up the good work and I love the video 👍 💯💯💯
You are so very awesome Dominic!
In my opinion they should just drop the 2.0 and replace the a turbo 86 that has the GR Corolla Powertrain. Keep it RWD though.
I would prefer the Miata over both I think. If the Supra came in AWD I would give it a look over the Miata.
Mx5 I guess it's called now.
It’s always nice to have options
@@steveg1054 MX-5 or Miata. Mazda still uses both!
Are you in San Diego?
No we can home
What's about the shifting compared to A10 Mustang? Which one in more responsive to paddle shifting? Thanks!
The Supra wins.
Hi...Is that a copy of the stinger taillight surround?? Thx Joe!
Not at all
Wonder if anyone has driven this and the new 230i, and how they compare. Same drivetrain, of course different size weight. You get 2 so what usable back seats in the 230i
I wish there was a video comparing those 2. Just bc I really like the 230i
This car makes the GR Corolla even more attractive
At dealer markup, ehhh
@@trdrav4 You don't think the Supras are getting marked up?
@@jamessicat Manual ones probably
I would take the Ecoboost easily....especially the HPP.
The supra handles much better and also drives better as a daily. The mustang has more punch thats for sure and looks better.
@@alpe6228 idk man the hpp handles better I think
How much are these I want one
I think for the avg consumer this car is more than enough. If your an enthusiast then go for the 3.0, you should have the budget for the fines 😂,
I know for 2023 the Supra could be had with a 6 speed manual
I’m to disappointed with the steering wheel to want one of these sorry but I’ll stick with the Prius at the 37K and I’m not a ford buyer here at all but love Rattis Rides you two are the best in the business Thank God ❤❤❤
I would prefer to get the Z4 M40i.
I love this car .. That V6 is cool but maybe too crazy and tail happy . It's rains a lot where I live and this version looks a little more controllable for everyday use , at least for me.
This is so very true!
If you got a 2.0 automatic, you might regret not getting the 3.0 manual
What car(s) do you have. Are they manual?
Shelby GT350R, Camaro ZL1 1LE, Subaru WRX STI. Yea
@@RaitisRides Masculine vehicles only he’s a man’s man darn it.
Is it possible to add the 3.0 rims to the 2.0 ?
It's just 19inch rims so yea
Another great vid Joe. Bought an Oxford White Ecoboost with the black out package and totally love it. This is definitely a fantastic looking car. Especially the red.
2.0? maybe. 3.0 has way more horse power than the 2.0 though. I was thinking of getting a 2.0 but it only has like 50 more hp than a camry. 3.0 is 100+ difference in horsepower. Definitely saving up for one cant wait.
255hp/295ft.lb. 150+mph Top Speed is all any enthusiast needs away from the track. MPGs are great, handling is tops, while the price is a bit high. But the quality is super.
For me, the bulbous design is out of the question. Mazda Miata RF for me.
Subaru WRX - 2.4L Turbo 271 HP AWD 4DR
I don’t like the long hood cabin backward design.
I appreciate you sharing your honest opinion!
I like the 2.0 but I’d probably just go for the gr86 at that point and save money.
That sounds like a good plan to me!
Really wish Yota would've just thrown this power plant in the 86 and just offered the Supra with the 6! But everything is all about $ and guess some numbers guy told them it wouldn't be lucrative! Oh well. Great review as always! ✌🏽❤️✊🏽
Same
Tongue wrestling?
My wife just asked what I was watching.🤣
That’s freaking hilarious
It should be "If you're ready, I'm Raiti!"
But seriously, I just Built My Own on Toyota's website and have more zonks!
This BMW (cough cough) I mean, Toyota Supra, is magnificent in its performance Joe!
I like what you did there!
@@RaitisRides If only BMW could help design the new Camry! That would be something to see.
Cool car, but my mx5 2.0l is more rev happy.. its a part of the fun. So hmm depends on how you drive and usage.
If the 2.0's were more common at dealers, probably would've gotten one over a GR86
Honestly 86>>>2.0 Supra if it’s the 3.0 different story there
This is more expensive than a civic type r and a civic type r is faster too
@@YTkingcherry only reason why I want a 2.0 is so that I can daily it. If it was a second car, then 100% I would go for a 3.0
The thing is, regardless of the Supra's dynamics it has two strikes against it.
If we're comparing four cylinder cars, automatic only is a non-starter (for me anyway)
The thing is, you can get a *convertible* turbo four-cylinder Camaro with a manual transmission for $12,000 less than a four cylinder Supra.
@@markallen2984 you just said a Camaro being cheaper as a point when that only applies to the states
Someone needs to compare this base 2.0 supra vs the base Nissan Z. I think the results might surprise people how close they are considering this is a 4 cylinder
There is no comparison .
I'd get the 1SS Camero with the manual trans.
Why don’t you compare the AMG GLA45 to this? 2.0L and all German and such?
I'm waiting for the day some Supra 2.0 owners fully manual swap their 8-speed auto using the stock A91 manual shifter and if they do, maybe that person will let you drive their manual transmission 4-cylinder Supra once they do it.
4:13 if you squint really hard it starts looking like a RX8
It's a beautiful sports car remind me something be in a movie 🎬.
For the same HP and less $ I'd rather get a 230i
I know. Totally different cars but whatever
I like the Supra but it's to Expensive, like your gonna be spending over 65K in canada for the 2.0 you can get a mustang ecoboost or a Camaro for cheaper that's more bigger and has more power
Love it. Would buy this…
I like how he uses food measurements that's why I watch lol 😆
