  • The Supra is an iconic sports car name and Toyota brought it back. This Supra 2.0 is meant to be a value priced sports car. On the outside you will get the unmistakable lines of the 5th gen Supra. On the inside you will clearly see the BMW influence. Under the hood is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 that produces 255HP & is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Is the 2022 Toyota Supra 2.0 a BETTER performance car than a Mustang EcoBoost?

I owned one of these for a short while. The mid range felt great but it does die off a bit in the upper RPM. The suspension was rough for my local roads though and you cannot adjust it. I have a 2023 2.0. Great vehicle! I'm not concerned about the "fake vents" as I just consider it part of the design. If they weren't fake, there isn't much they would add to the air flow. I'm 71 and needed a fountain of youth and it's working. Growing new hair and put a pretty girl in the passenger side and I'm in diapers. It turns......incredible! No body asks if it is a 3.0 liter or 2.0 liter. The automatic transmission is smooth! I get better than 32 mpg on the highway. There is a guy who is over 7' tall and gets in and out with no problems. I'm 5'4" maximum. I don't speed and everyone passes me. I end up arriving at the red light where they have stopped. Air/heat? Great. I got the upgraded safety/audio system. Great!

Although a four-cylinder Supra may sound sacrilegious to diehards, there's a silver lining. R&T also reported the four-cylinder model will be the ideal candidate for inevitable 2JZ swaps; the 2JZ is Toyota's famed inline-6 engine found in the MKIV Supra. The car's chief engineer Tetsuya Tada encouraged future Supra owners planning on 2JZ swaps to "please buy the four-cylinder. It will be cheaper."
