SUMMARY & PERSONAL THOUGHTS
For starters, I now see these new Toyota Supra's differently because they are finally available in a 6 Speed Manual. There's a million different auto-transmissions out there like DCT, blah blah, but nothing is more satisfying to drive than a standard gear-box car, especially a Supra.
Getting to not only detail this car, but assist in the PPF (very little obviously lol), and film it was a TREAT. Plus, Tyler and I played around with the ability to detail inside his shop which helps out so MUCH. His shop's drive way is just non-stop constant sunshine for 90% of the day, so getting to do this inside made everything so much easier. It was also way more enjoyable, plus I was able to get some sick camera work being inside. Just a totally different experience than usual.
After a thorough, safe, and effective exterior prep-detail, Tyler went ahead and installed the PPF, panel by panel. A New Supra Full Body PPF is not as easy as it may look. This seemed to be one heck of a difficult car to PPF according to Tyler, as well as online PPF groups, I'm very happy that my end of the job was strictly Detailing Lol. Got the wheels coated, exhaust tips, and coated the hood since XPEL doesn't make Fusion PPF in rolls big enough for a hood like the Supra's. Overall, I think this will be one to remember. Such an awesome experience and I'm happy I get to share it with you all.

Ding Ding!
Wanted charge the guy 20k and it fixed itself 😂 that dealership is full of dirtbags holy smokes
I own a Supra. It's not that they were trying to rip off a "Supra owner because they have money", it's more likely they have no clue what was wrong with it or how to fix it. Their last ditch effort was to suggest a new ecu. Toyota dealerships only have 1 or 2 certified techs to work on Supras and so few Supras come through their dealership. Toyota dealerships just don't know how to fix them. You'd be better off taking it to a BMW dealership or a independent BMW specialist. I'm sure that Toyota dealership has plenty of trucks and SUV's that cost more than a Supra.
Even so bmw dealers wont service anything but bmws in my experience
Very professional work and attitude s well done fellas
The porno jazz music is kind of distracting. Lol.
Nice car and detailing work.
Also, you should out the dealership because people should know about shady business practices. Unbelievable that they tried to claim the ECU was fried and wanted $20k
You’re probably right in saying that. I’ll go through and add an Annotation in the video via RUclips studio. Thank you very much!
Glad to see someone else do toothpickery! I enjoy watching Jim White do it.
Supra is amazing car., amazing video btw!
Nice to know BMW code the battery to the car
Finished product looks amazing! Which spoiler is that (around 27:25)?
Do you happen to know the type of tape that was used for holding back the molding for the windshield?
We used 3M Perforated Trim Masking Tape (06349)
@@tintbytyler Awesome... Thanks for the reply!
Sounds like engineering explained lol
Awesome video. Thoroughly enjoyed it. One question though. Was the car previously paint corrected? Or did the owner not want to paint correct it before the adding the PPF.
Correct, we did not do any paint correcting prior to PPF install. I have to say, I briefly inspected the paint, and it was in shockingly good condition considering the horrible "new paints" I've seen from new cars now adays. Was in a solid of enough condition to throw PPF on and it mask any minor blemishes.
Need one in this exact spec!
love the supra,beautiful car
So end the end the car just fixed itself?
Lol yep. Just ended up clearing the battery fault on its own.
You don't put the products name in the video anymore?
Weeeelp, as I read your comment, I realize that I did not do that as usual, Lol. I'll make sure to not forget that next upload, thank you!
What wheel barrel brush is that
EZ Detail Brush!
What was the size of film needed for the hood?
Not entirely sure, but if you’re in need of the size, I can shoot Tyler a message and get it!
@@ccdetailing that would be awesome and I’d really appreciate it! I looked online and it’s hard to find the dimensions of the hood
@@jmanlevan Couldn't get direct dimensions from him, but Tyler said we slapped film from a 72" roll on there, but a 60" roll is doable. Hope this helps in any way!
@@ccdetailing appreciate that!!
Hello
What a sexy beast. I definitely want a used one in 3 years(definitely blue) one thing that gives me pause is the BMW engine. They’re not known for reliability for a daily driver.
A blue one would be amazing! And coming from a German-Car “guy” background, yes I understand the hesitation due to a BMW motor, but the B58 is definitely an awesome engine. Reliable, and not just that, but can make reliable power, massive after-market support, and community. I would definitely vouch for it. Been around a LOT of new Supras, and the sentiment seems to be exactly that ^. Awesome cars
you actually think toyota was not involved in what was going into their car
@@wayneh1562 not saying they weren’t involved. I deal in facts. I love BMWs but as a daily driver I’m reluctant. They are historically unreliable as a daily. That’s a fact.
@@jeffreyrobert9460 they are known to have incredibly unreliable V engines, their inlines arent bad though.
@@jeffreyrobert9460 you must be known for not researching. the b58 has been in the top 10 engines for a while, objectively in terms of reliability and power, but also in aftermarket performance upgrades.
