The clarity of this is stunning. With applications to pitching and chipping where the quality of the contact is vital.

One of the best explanations of this concept. The hands staying underneath the shoulders and swinging around the body! Love it!

Every so often you get the Eureka moments, this video was one.. I've been watching you for a while, and was somewhat confused to the whole idea of how to incorporate the idea of the butt end of the club coming around, even with your Broom demonstrations, but the split foot drill REALLY did it for me! Thank you! Luckily I have access to some trackman bays and can practice this. Thank you Stuart!

This is a great addition to the drills you have me doing on Skillest with the Thera-band and the arms straight making small swings. The back swing is the easy part. The motion through the ball with the chest moving and the hand path moving left is harder but it is also the critical element to getting a good strike on the and straight ball flight. My results on the course with this have been pretty amazing. Great stuff!

Stu, almost everytime I watch your videos I come away thinking how so many coaches are teaching the wrong things. This reminds me of a time I was on the driving range and I heard the club pro teaching a new golfer to bend more laterally and swing the club to first base. Each time the golfer tried that, she either shanked the ball or hit it dead right with a glancing blow. He had her doing weird contorsions with her body I couldn't believe it. Your videos remind me that "Good Golf Coaching" is vital to becoming a good golfer. This girl either quit the game or is a terrible golfer, either way, it's not good for her or the growth of the game. Cheers.

Really Nice. The concept of sending the ball parallel to the foot line is hog wash. You send the ball where you direct your energy. This drill proves that.

Hi I've been trying to swing a it more under my shoulders and the finish is looking so much better and easier it's just I'm hitting a lot more left and I seems to be only able to straighten up a bit is by weakening my grip to a thumb straight down the middle of shaft which I don't wanna do but in turn sometimes slicing the odd 1 when I don't turn enough am I missing something here. Regards ben

Stu, with the grip that we are trying to have, do you prefer more extended lead wrist position at the top?

Hi Stuart, I must confess I was a little sceptical at first with your coaching but, after following your tutorials with the broom you now have me converted. I wanted to say thanks to you for such a practical drill. I do have a question though relating to the driver and its swing path. I understand that you can still hit up on the ball, even if the ball is in the middle of your stance but, popular teaching says to have the ball nearer your lead foot to hit up on the ball. With an in to in swing path and a strong grip, would this not lead to pulling/hook pulling the ball left as the club to ball contact would be after the low point and the club would be then on it's in path with a closed face? Sorry for the long winded question, but I hope I've explained what I'm trying to ask. Thanks for your expert explanations and a great channel.

Excellent question Graham! You are spot on, which is why hitting up excessively is vastly over rated. However much you are hitting up +1,2,3,4 will result in how far right you’ll have to aim to allow for the draw. Anyone who draws the ball aims straight, so you’d be joining the draw side of life! Best wishes Stu 😊

Hey Stu great video as always. I know you are big proponent of a strong lead hand with this swing but when I try it it seems to hurt my wrist. I broke my wrist back in the day and I tend to lean towards a weaker grip because of it. Ive gotten the matchups for a weaker grip to work at times with this swing but I can’t seem to perfect the feeling of where the release should be with it. When the ball goes straight the release feels more around the side of me lead knee. Any suggestions? This seems to be the final piece for me. Thanks as always!

Hey Kyle - I’d be guessing Sir, even with the most detailed explanation of a golfers swing, I’d still be guessing. It’s not my thing. Best wishes Stu 😊

@@GoodGolfCoaching I go through and re watch your videos all the time and I found my answer! The video “how to control your clubface with the lead elbow” made it to where the strong grip was more comfortable. I was trying to put on a strong grip with my elbow underneath me instead of pointing at the target. You have the best info!!
