    I am a 2.7 handicap and have been working hard with coaches. Your grip is spot on. It is a revelation and no one talks about it. It's neutral actually, and the idea of pressing DOWN is key. It keeps the club in control and with power (angle of attack). And this right shoulder move is a cheat code. You teach the opposite of most instructors and it just makes sense this way.

    .....it's so true Stu. Until I saw a few of your videos on you MUST pull on the golf club, I was definitely working on keeping my back to the target, dropping my arms straight down..... all in an effort to swing from the inside. And of course sometimes I could time it just right with the hands and make good contact and think it works. Can't thank you enough for debunking all that crap....⛳🍺

    Hi Stu, you did a video lesson with a senior golfer telling him keeping head down was garbage. You got him looking towards target on downswing. Different thought to this video but same principle. I have used on last two rounds, never hit ball so well.

    Brilliant video setting aside a big myth of mine about keeping left shoulder back and dropping hands down to start downswing..Rather fire up that lead leg and move trail shoulder forward to start the downswing is the answer for more speed and power. Love the idea of the right shoulder talking to the lead hip moving in opposite directions. Easy to visualize and remember.

    hi stu. trying to understand feel versus real: your slo mo demos always show hands out and then followed by hands down with forearm rotation, but swings in motion (8:49-8:51) shows a more sidearm throwing motion with minimal right shoulder forward followed by squaring of clubface with body rotation. would appreciate any insights.

    • @ze_ma1965
      @ze_ma1965 4 месяца назад

      Me too 😢

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  4 месяца назад +1

      A golf club has never been squared up with body rotation, forearm rotation either aided or hindered bu body rotation; wrist flexion/extension helps or hinders face squaring up; handle high or low helps or hinders a square club face. The forces on the handle are not clear to see, in the same way, if you pushed two hands together and they were not moving, does this mean they are pushing against each other or completely passive.
      Im swimming against a tide of golfers with faulty belief and understanding, and its that same understanding or observations that cause golfers to tuck elbows, flatten wrist angles and rotate with their hips.
      I try hard deliver clear and concise instruction within the parameters I have open to me on this platform. I appreciate many wont understand and will dig at what they see and not what i apply. Its the best I can do.
      I hope this goes some way to answering your questions, best wishes Stu 😊

      @@GoodGolfCoaching thank you for taking the time to reply. might I make a request for a future episode on how the timing of forces applied to the handle with the club in motion results in the differences observed between 8:45-8:49 versus 8:50-8:52?

      thank you very much dear Stuart for trying so hard and steadily swimming against all the 'garbage' ;-) My point is that a slow motion swing analysis of your swing would help very much to understand more precisely your points, wouldn't it?? @@GoodGolfCoaching

    Interesting parallel: this is an athletic move by the body, similar a pro player tennis serve, shoulder and arm move the racket handle forward then shoulder internally rotates to line up racket for a great serve. Same can be said about a football throw, thank you coach for great insight!

    That person you explained is exactly what I do. Prolific inside to out. Weak and low-ball flight, that produces a drastic duck hook. And the shank on occasion. Which I feel comes from early extension. I have to consciously think about staying behind the ball at impact and keeping my behind from thrusting forward. Thanks. I will work on that connection. Right shoulder, left hip, and left foot ground connection.

    This motion should be much easier on the back too. Dropping the right shoulder down crunches the spine at an add angle in order to get through the ball. Looks like the shoulders just need to work at 90 degrees to the spine angle at address so the right shoulder works naturally out toward the target line as the downswing gets going. Looks body friendly to me. 😊

    Good video Stu! I'm a senior golfer and have a good backswing but can't move the left hip around, if I line up and keep my left foot back 4 inches or so I can then get a good follow through and face the target. Is this a good setup to continue with or will lead to more problems for me. Thanks for all your great videos!!

    So are you saying to keep the handle close to you and pushed down through the golf swing?
    I thought i had this figured out. Now, im back to chunking everything.
    When i push down on the handle, the club head comes up.
    So when you say push down, do you also need to keep the handle close to your body? Push down through the downswing and then raise up, all close to your body?
    Sorry, I'm a slow learner.
