  • In this video I demonstrate the totally misunderstood differences between the driver swing and the iron swing that nobody understands and nobody is talking about.
    This video will be your lightbulb moment that will allow you to hit starighter and longer shots with your driver and create more compression and take divots with your irons while keeping the golf ball straight.

    Stuart, you have to get out of my head 😂. I’m one of those guys who can strike his irons very well but not so much my driver. It is the nemesis of my game. Now I know why. Each time you teach using science, it makes sense and I completely understand. I’ll practice releasing the driver handle sooner, when it gets to about middle of my groin. Thanks for the education and keep up the excellent work. Cheers.

    Great explanation of the difference Stu. Something I struggle with because I have a restricted back swing and so even less time to unload the driver. I wouldn't call myself a good drawer of a golf ball but I find myself in a round of golf trying to feel like I'm going to try and draw it in order to get myself to get out of the pull fase earlier. Can work or can turn into straight low pulls

      Just returned from the range and had great results. Thank you Stu! As a 58yr old slower swing speed golfer I found it easier to feel like I am releasing the club much earlier in the downswing than you demonstrated giving more time to square the driver. The ball flew much straighter. However keeping the handle low around my body made it difficult to get high ball flight. Perhaps you can address this on a future Driver video.

    Hi Stuart. I think the simultaneous above and down the line views are helpful because the swing is 3 dimensional. Would it be possible to create a swing shot with a simultaneous above, down the line, and face on view. There are optical illusions in the golf swing and I think it would help illustrate what you are trying to explain.

      Hi Karen - thanks so much for the feedback. I am not sure the screen with three cameras works personally. I think two angles at one time works, three doesn’t. I tried and it’s confusing. Hi stu. When pulling your irons through strike is there also a element of pushing with the trail hand?

  • @patrik.clifford
    @patrik.clifford 16 дней назад +1

    With the driver: Cant you just push more with your right hand when approaching the ball to make the club head speed up and catch up to your hands? Or is that to heavy for the wrists? Lika a top shot in tennis if you know what I mean? Maybe its impossible to time correctly though?
    Or just use a completely different technique with the driver, like owerswing it a'la Daly to get the club to start fast as hell and then have time to catch up 🙂

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  16 дней назад +1

      The top hand (lead hand) needs to stall, the trail hand won’t be able to shift the head in the time needed due to the amount of added acceleration the trail hand would need. Hope that helps Patrick.

I struggle often with my driver, and I have explored some of the throwing of the club head, I just can't seem to grasp how I am going to get enough club head speed with such a short pull to equate to long drives. I can sympathise with your fog, its not easy seeing the driver as a pull and swing club; so many golfers lose untold distance and club speed because the lack of leverage being used. Well, I went out to the range last night, and though I don't think I was hitting the ball quite as far as I was used to, I was making such solid contact. More importantly my driver transformed from my nemesis to a consistent tight little draw. Not sure I was doing exactly what you prescribed but for the very first attempt I was dumbfounded! I was really just focused on pushing back with my lead leg and pulling the club around and not down. This resulted in my lead hip being pushed more back, so not sure exactly if that was the instruction, but man this felt nice. Was night time so I am not certain on distances, but who cares, give me something I can count on any day. Sorry so long, just excited!!!!
