  • In this video I talk about your right shoulder in your golf swing and discuss why your right shoulder is a very important part of your understanding on how it should behave and help you stop slicing, stop hooking and hit the ball straighter and improve your contact with the golf ball!
    Club speed and consistency comes from moving your right shoulder and your upper body in the right way, in this video I discuss the importance of how this works.
    This video will be the only video you need on your golf swing and the right shoulder.

    Thank you! I just got done mowing the greens at Stonehenge GC in West Michigan and wanted to try your advice from today’s video. The first swing and bam 💥. I have been trying to keep the right shoulder back until this year. Your advice is succinct and with the added benefit at least for me is power I’ve never felt before! Brilliant!

    Hey Stuart! Another golden video. Question I have started implementing your recommended grip and leg action (tricky…but working on it.) my face angle has improved but I am hitting shots fatter than ever any thoughts on what I may be doing wrong here? Wonder if it is my takeaway or this shoulder action. Let me know your thoughts or points to check! Thanks again for the content!

    This "flattish" swing feels free and easy-can't wait to take it to the course and try it out. Why then, do some very popular RUclipsrs like Tom Saguto say to point your shoulder down at the ball?

      @@GoodGolfCoachingYou saying to not drop your right shoulder “down” confused me as well Stu. I first took that to mean that if not down, then the right shoulder should turn around more horizontally in the downswing….with horrible results when I tried that. Then I realized you meant not to drop your right shoulder back and down by swaying the hips forward. So in fact you do drop your right shoulder down, but down and forward towards the ball and at 90° to the spine angle, driven in part by the rotational pressure down into your left leg and heel. I had to rewatch this video a few times to understand.

  • @mitchy7051
    @mitchy7051 11 месяцев назад +1

    since you advocate more of a 90 deg pitch relationship with club and spine, would you recommend we play flatter clubs, especially in the longer irons ?

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  11 месяцев назад

      Hi Mitchy, no real reason to do that Sir.

  • @craigmcconnochie4378

    Stuart, happy easter, ok so not a problem with irons draw them all the time, but with driver first move is the right shoulder it is creating a weak slice so what am I missing?

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  3 месяца назад

      Craig, the shoulder won’t be causing the weak slice, it will be your clubface. Hope that helps. Best wishes Stu

    I just reached this video when you are on your knees your right shoulder does bend down, ever so lightly but it does move down. So what amount of right shoulder dip must come down?

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  Год назад

      Bala no1 - there is absolutely no thought of the right shoulder going down my friend; the right should move “around” the spine tip and not actively thrust towards the ground. Hope that makes sense and helps you play better golf 😊

    • @bamano198
      @bamano198 Год назад +1

      @@GoodGolfCoaching agree that the right shoulder does not drop straight down. Your comment before you hit on your knees was that the shoulders stay horizontal, in which case they did not as in the video because you tilted your spine. Your statement about the shoulders staying horizontal threw me off. Back on track with what you said.

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  Год назад

      @@bamano198 Ah OK fantastic - glad we cleared up; the amount of "down" the right shoulder goes is directly correlated to the angle the spine is tilted forward. Thank you for questioning and always keen to help clarify 😊
