Stu this is absolutely wonderful. You explain what needs to happen, yet you don’t explain what you need to do, which I find simply brilliant. Your way of teaching truly resonates with me. I had a lightbulb, eureka moment after watching this video. I was told to have a flat or bowed left wrist at the top early in my golfing career and I built my entire swing based off that. I have always felt deep down that I was missing pieces to a puzzle in terms of my overall understanding of the swing, yet I am far from a beginner. This has freed up my rotation tremendously. I can’t thank you enough!

This has blown my mind. I've been busting a gut to flatten/ bow my left wrist to change my natural cupping as a part of lessons for last 6 months, now I'm really confused. But this really does make sense.
Stuart--I was following along in this video and was thinking that this was good to mirror lead wrist at address and at halfway back (oops, almost said P3!) when you got to around 9:50 in the vid and you showed maintaining it the whole way to impact and beyond. I've realized that to square up at impact, the lead wrist can't be extending toward target but should be arcing around. I have been trying to do that but thinking of it all as maintaining a 'lead wrist shape' throughout was an 'aha' moment for me! Thanks!

Holy cow! I recently strengthened my grip (as per your recommendations) and have been hooking the ears off everything. I have video of my impact position and the wrist is flat. All things being equal this may well be a life saver for me. Thanks mate.

When I hit it my best the I just set the hands and forget them, no forced release, if anything I tried to hold the angle all they way though. I have lost that over the years and cant find it, this makes all the sense to me, cant wait to work on it. I know I am adding cup on the set or top to the BS and hit nasty hooks. Keeping the angle of the back of the right hand all they way thought the swing is a great feeling also.
There is one change I would make to this video. Stuart talks about wrist angles but needs to be more specific. The wrist has 2 different wrist angles: radial deviation and flexion/extension. I am fairly sure that in the video Stuart is talking about flexion/extension rather than radial deviation but it would help if this was clarified because radial deviation also affects how much flexion/extension the wrist does. The other point which I found very interesting is the idea that wrist set should be almost over by left arm parallel in the back swing - yet again in the swing it does seem to me that what we need to do in the swing actually happens long before we feel it does
Radial/flexion/extension for most golfers is too much, too much jargon, maybe some know maybe some don’t, but images tell the story which is why I temper the jargon you reference Justin. Not say you’re wrong, but communication and articulating is crucial for the wide audience. I hope you understand what I’m about to ask. I have adopted your grip. At address… should my left arm and right be pointing away from me as if I was giving blood in both arms. A lot of times I feel more comfortable when my left bicep is pointing towards my right arm. Will that change my attack angle on the ball. I don’t know which is right or wrong. Hi Stuart, when I do the exaggeration transition drill of pulling the handle horizontally towards the ball and laying the shaft down, it feels hard to then square the face back up by pushing the handle towards the floor. Am I overdoing it? Or is it that I'm opening the face too much while doing this. I don't think I'm doing anything funky like cupping the wrist, just laying the club down. Maybe I should just stick to the theraband around the neck drill and the broom drill if the transition drill is overdoing things for me?
Currently, my keys to the swing have been from the ground up and produce a straight ball to a slight draw. My needs as a golfer would be learning how to flight it down and hitting more of a draw or a fade in that order. Do the wrist angles potentially change when flighting it? I will also play with draw and fade techniques this winter on Saturdays and Sundays in the monitor. I’m nervous to stray too far from the normal swing seeing that things are going so well. As I've told you previously my irons are abysmal....but I find my hits are more consistent if I have a bowed wrist (still not good but better than if I don't)
In these days we see Morikawa, Hovland, Spieth, Koepka etc etc with bowed left wrists yes? And they all fade the ball... 🤔 For me my left wrist feels better to not bow it. Feels more relaxed. Thanks 🙏

I play my driver a little weaker and flatter wristed, due to a tendancy to hook and pull hook. I find that my miss is still a hook to pull hook even with that change. Found myself playing with grip and wrist quite a lot trying to solve this. Iron miss is similar but obviously less pronounced. Wish you would have expounded on the hook a little more (if only selfishly for me).lol
So, what I got from this video is that whatever your wrist set is at address should stay the same throughout the swing and we should NOT try to manipulate our wrist in anyway during the actual swing, also, we should just let our forearms turn over naturally as we come into impact. Cheers.
Stu, I am gripping as per your instructions, i am pulling down but I find I cast and struggling to pull long enough. I then get a left elbow break. Watch your chicken wing video, didn’t help. I am not getting to the root coarse. Is there instruction that covers this. I used the sportsbot and I am open through impact.

@@GoodGolfCoaching using the band identified that my shoulder blades dropping/ rounded, I was curving my back, I had pressure but it was not how my back is when I stand. The pressure was wrong somehow. The pressure on the hand also put pressure on my shoulders with the band so felt more connected, it fixed so much. I cant find anything on your channel that covers the back/shoulders blades, yours back is flat and looks connected
Hey Stu...... I'm not going to mention any names.....but..... there's one instructor in particular that emphasizes that bowed wrist and creating the bowed wrist as your swinging thru. I've been tinkering with that for about a year now and struggling with it. Thanks again for letting me cross off another useless piece of advice.......⛳🍺
Tbf copying this or copying that is less important than knowing why doing this or why doing that impacts the swing mechanics. Doing something on the advice of anyone without understanding what it's aiming to achieve may actually give unfavourable results as it was never something you needed to mess with in the 1st place. Not suggesting that's you btw but it is am issue for many who simply do as told by an influencer
