    Stuart, your videos are so impressive mate because you are also showing it as it happens. I think you'll find that's good coaching.

    Great to see how the grip affects the launch angle, as the fairways start to dry out how much of an advantage is the height compared with the potential roll after launching. I appreciate the situation is different at different courses but it would be interesting to see the carry and finish distances as there most be an optimal.

      Hi Paul - thanks for your input; the variables are huge and I really try to not make it about distance as everyone is so very different. High launch and high spin gains control, low launch low spin gives more run. I think that generalisation will hold you in good stead tbh and hope that helps Sir. Best wishes Stu

    Great video! I’ve been hanging out on the weaker side of life and have been getting the exact results you showed in the video. Extremely hard to keep the ball on the fairway as I’m always slicing it. I have tried lighter clubs and have had success. This makes a lot of sense to me through my experience. Looks like I’ve got to get used to a stronger grip!

      Yes you do Mitchell, and then you’ll have to get used to hitting it 25 to 35% further. 😊

    Stuart, love your videos. Your coaching has really opened my thinking and brought back confidence over the ball with mid to short irons. Pull phase, left wrist low and left through impact, putting pressure on the ball... just gold. I recently realized it's really hard to apply this to longer clubs for me. For Driver, it's so hard to get close to the ball. If I set up with hands hanging underneath the shoulders, there is just no way my brain can get the clubface back to square. The ball is too close and driver shaft is too damn long! I know standing away from the ball and swinging flat is wrong, but what's a guy who's 5'8" going to do?

    Well I now certainly hang out on the strong side due to some excellent coaching 😀, which has greatly improved strike and outcome. This is a really interesting addition to my understanding as I work on the driver and try to move to a positive angle of attack. By nature I am a low-spin guy and understanding the dynamics in play is very helpful. Now you need to tell me how I gain 10mph swing speed please 🤣

      Thanks Martin - glad this helped with the further insights; the extra 10mph will be in my next video 😂😂

    Like a few of your other comments, I have modified grip and swing as per your great coaching. However I’ve struggled with driver release sending ball to the left and sometimes ‘duck hooking’. I will try a slightly weaker grip with the driver to see if it matches my driver swing better. I almost feel that last comments in this video were important and easily missed. We all will have slightly different swings. Perhaps covered in a different video.

    Hi Stuart, quick question for you. Is lag and ulner deviation (releasing it) important in the golf swing and when you are returning the hands to the same place as address are you still releasing the lag? Just a bit confused on this matter.

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  3 месяца назад +1

      Yes correct Brian.

      @@GoodGolfCoaching I said to a good golfer that I am wanting to return my hands to the same place at address and he said well then you'll be doing radial deviation too and holding back the power of the release. What do reply to that Stuart? I said I think it's more to do with pressuring down with the arms as a unit rather than the wrists, but I'm not fully clear on it. Is that correct?

    I Am curious to know what distance your drives went, Carry & roll, using a slower swing speed of 100mph. I’m 68yo & have a 99mph SS, 12.3 launch angle, butter cut fade, apex 90, 250 carry, 265-270 total. Can I improve on these numbers? I can rip it at 102mph but have no control.
    Thank you

      I carry it around 270 at around 110/112 driver speed. Anyone can improve their speed with a mix of efficiency and strength. Hope that helps. Best wishes Stu

    What am I missing? If you want hight launch, with low spin, with strong grip... why not simply tee the ball a bit higher?

  • @danielwenderlich3438
    @danielwenderlich3438 9 месяцев назад +1

    I have tried a stronger grip and I do feel the face turned down but the face closes at impact giving me a weak hook at straight block to the left. With a weaker grip I have the shots tithe right as I try to close the face I end up slicing or hitting to the left .

      If the grip is good, the errors will then be elsewhere Daniel, without seeing you, I can’t help specifically ☹️Best wishes Stu

    Hi Stu. I release the driver in the way you advocate as a 'throw at the bottom'. I have been struggling with hitting the bottom edge i.e., low on the face and compared to a high strike, it robs me of anything resembling a drive. What would you recommend I try? Ball back a bit? Higher tee? Something to ensure I get off the back foot? A feel? Btw it happens with any driver and the rest of my game is decent at consistently 5-7 handicap. If I could strike it higher in the face my game would be very different.

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Chris, take a look at your left shoulder and see where this is in relation to the golf ball. If you are swinging the head at the bottom, if the lead shoulder is too far behind the golf ball you will tend to thin the ball, added to any collapsing of the arms, these will be two strongest ingredients to investigate to remedy your problem. Best wishes Stu

    What is the ideal driver all position for bombs versus the normal drive?

    • @GoodGolfCoaching

      More forward in your stance by at least two ball widths.

    So I guess a senior with high 80's swing speed should use more loft to generate spin...?

    the mind can't comprehend 3 degrees angle... this is why I disagree depending on tech like this. All good instructors should be able to see what is happening in a swing without this

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  Год назад +2

      I disagree - or else I couldn’t flick the attack angle around by 1 degree. Feel and conscious application makes golfers have the ability to action small change. You’re just not in a place to sense that with your own game. Hope that helps.
