Best Instructor by far I’ve seen on You Tube, explains the golf processes in such an easy, enjoyable way….brilliant 🏌️♂️ Keep these type of videos coming Liam 😊
Simon is quite simply inspirational - he’s been my coach for some time - the first time I saw him I was at the point of giving up the game after over 30 years - I hated it - within 10 minutes of my first lesson he had given me back the love of the game and over time has taken it to a level I thought I could only dream of - a precious gift - not only a truly inspirational teacher but an inspirationally positive individual. Love all your videos Liam but this one was something very special. I applaud you both 👏👏👏👏 AW
I've watched this about half a dozen times and watching again tonight as a refresher because I'm heading out to Murcia on Tuesday for four rounds of stableford. I try to keep everything from this video in my head - pressure 3, at address, backswing and release. When I step on to the first tee, I'm hoping I remember "3 Better questions!". And as you said, that analogy of Simon's of hitting a little lay up, really is a light bulb moment. Brilliant video, by a guy who explains it all so clearly.
I have only been playing golf for 71 years and this is probably the most intelligent golf lesson I have ever watched being illustrated so simply. Now I can enjoy golf for another 20 years and get my handicap from 12 back to a single digit again. Thank you so much.
Chapeau Simon 👍 I'm a 59yo PGA Pro, in Germany, same simple Philosophy and that's "THE best" RUclips golf teaching video I've seen to date... Your the best 👏👏👏 I really enjoyed that, best regards from Colin 🍻
Finally, a golf coach who actually knows what he's talking about! So many coaches are obsessed with aesthetics but you can't get the aesthetics unless you first understand the concept of the swing, starting with feeling the weight of the clubhead and then learning impact. And now Liam is getting on a much better swing plane after stopping that silly takeaway move. I really hope Liam keeps following this guy because he is pure gold. He is also from the line of teaching of Ernest Jones and Manuel de la Torre.
Wow what a guy, no more looking for the magic fix just going to go back and look at this video. Thank you som much Simon. Liam you enjoyed that well done.
11 handicap here, watched this last night and it made so much sense. Went out this morning and concentrated only on keeping arms at level 3 pressure throughout the entire swing + subtle wrists. Shot 76 off the stick…WOW - it works Thanks Liam and Simon, will be forever gretefull
OMG - Just tried this at the driving range and can’t believe how consistent my ball striking was. I have spent ££££’s over the years on lessons and Simon is the first person to have ever pointed this out. Simon is gold and his ability to explain things is brilliant. Don’t leave it too long before you have Simon back Liam.
Hi Liam, watched this video last Friday on FB, went out Saturday morning and shot 79 gross off 12, won the comp beating 115 fellow club golfers, and all because of this great instructional tip. Just said P3 (pressure level) every time i gripped the club. Not won in 2.5 years and turned 60 last week. Was so impressed with Simon that I went to trouble of calling him at Carus Green this morning and gave him a much deserved pat on the back. His instructional method is just simple to follow exactly what simple golfers need. Great work bud.
Hi Rory I really concur with your comments I won my first stableford competition out of 217 .It was just a relief knowing the potential and that such a simple thing makes a huge difference.
After playing golf for forty (40) years and watching countless videos, I see this. This is like my golf Fountain Of Youth. I'm stunned at what I thought I knew and what I have just learned. Thank you! I get this. Subscription added.
This is some of the best advice on RUclips. I’ve been guilty of messing with my swing rather than working on what works. Like Simon says a good constant strike will always win over trying to hit it in to next week making your swing path all over the place
Ernest Jones was one of the greatest golf coaches ever. He lost part of a leg in WW1 and went to America in the early 1920's and made a fortune teaching ' swing the clubhead ' Great golfers know of his teachings and respect him highly. Hogan knew this and Mo Norman said Jones was the greatest golf coach ever and David Leadbetter holds him in the highest esteem. I was taught to use the clubhead when starting to play golf in the early 1970's and was down to 4 handicap in two years. Dr Kwon on You Tube teaches 'Swing, Swing ' and swinging the clubhead repeatedly is the best thing a golfer can do. I taught and understood this after my friendship and coaching from Ryder Cup player Jimmy Adams and through this my coaching my pupils improved in less than a couple of minutes.
This guy is fantastic. He breaks down the swing into something very simple and easy. (1) Find your pressure at a 3 out of 5, (2) keep that same pressure constant throughout the swing, and (3) let the toe of the club turnover. Use these 3 things for all clubs, minus the putter. Keep all other thoughts out. Liam, this guy is a keeper and thanks for sharing. Wish he was in my neck of the world. Cheers
Oh my goodness this video is a revelation. Worked on this with a small bucket and took it to the course and had one of the best ball striking days in a very long time. I need to take a vacation wherever this man teaches to get some lessons!
Who knew that England had its own Rick Flair and that he(Simon) would be an absolute golf genius. Thanks, Simon, for this lesson. I'm in the States, or I'd be paying for them in person. God bless you for sharing on Golf Mates. Love the adventures Liam and friends have. It's been a great few years watching. Thanks again Simon and Liam!!!!
Simon is the best instructor l have seen on RUclips and wow that he explains it so clearly and not too technical but enough to understand the golf swing. This is the third time l have watched this video and thank you for it. l hope one-day l will get a lesson from Mr Simon Edwards, keep up the great work and God bless.
What an excellent Coach, this is what coaching should look like! Sir is a true student of the game. He is unassuming and you can have a conversation with him while you are learning. Top class, thanks for sharing!
I couldnt help but smile in awe of Simon, the way he explained everything. He said "Golf is a simple sport" and you have to believe him from him as a coach perspective. Hats off to Liam for transitioning the theory into the practical. A great watch and i really do hope Simon is in more videos in the future. Well done to the both of you. 👍🏼
The lay up analogy at 16:00 makes 10000000% total sense. Some of my purest and flushed iron shots tend to be when I'm laying up and all due to "soft hands". This lesson will DEFINITELY help someone like me.
Last Saturday, 25 pts in the comp and feeling depressed again as I might as well not play in winter. Couldn’t sleep Saturday night, found this and watched it twice. Sunday morning, that’s all I concentrated on, came in with 41 pts. All the coaching I’ve had and none of them explained it so simply that made sense. Cheers Simon and Liam
Wow I've spent so much time watching videos trying to fix my swing and I've finally just had that "eureka" moment. So simple and the most helpful video I've seen. Amazing!
Watched this last night, put this into action on the range this morning. Took up golf in February this year, hc 32 after 5 scoring rounds. Today I finished my session flushing my 7 iron 170 and my 6 iron 180, thank you so much for an amazing lesson, can’t thank you enough Liam 😀. Keep up making the great content 😀👍
Pardon my French, but this was effing brilliant. This is all anyone needs to know from a coach who is not changing your grip style or the way you swing the club. Thanks 👍
I like most amateurs have spent years changing from one method to another, all of which work with limited success. The key thing I take from this video is that we have to let the club swing into the right positions as it’s designed to without any interference from ourselves ie manipulating. This surely must be the best approach for more consistent golf and put an end to the cycle of doom that most of us experience. Thanks for the video, inspiring and well explained.
I have to admit, I love the lessons from Simon. This one in particular has worked wonders for me. I am trying to get back into golf after twenty years away from it. I practiced for several days with foam balls in my backyard to get the feel. Today I went to the range and I have NEVER seen ball flights like the ones I hit today! I can’t wait to see what I can do on the course! Simon is a coaching King!
Can't believe how simply brilliant this is. I've NEVER heard this in any lesson yet it makes so much sense. Thanks for posting this. I'm a death gripper as well.
Of all the hours of golf instruction lessons/videos I've watched in the past 4 years and I've watched a lot this has to be the most understandable relatable and most game changing ever just been out for 3 hours of millionaires golf late on Sunday employed this instruction which resulted in 3 hours of pure joy and I'd say 1000% improvement in ball strike and flight pure gold thanks 🙏
What a lovely bloke and great teacher. No jargon just simple to understand concepts and lots of positive feedback. Impressive results too. Great video. 👏🏼
I'm keeping this video to hand as it is quite simply the best lesson I've seen on RUclips. The science of golf explained simply and logically and takes out a 1,000 different thoughts we all go through when trying to figure out our golf swing. Awesome.
Yoda - tension on the course absolutely kills your game. Getting your head out of the way is not always the easiest. Great coaching session from Simon. The best teachers always put things in their simplest form. 👏👏👏👏
Liam, you're good, the videos are great, and they entertain... But Simon... Take a bow... This is probably the most informative video I have ever seen... Absolute gold... So well explained, so simple.... Just fantastic... Thank you!!!!!
KISS = Keep It Straightforward & Simple! If you can’t follow this sell your golf clubs. Simon is a breath of fresh air, if you want to play golf watch this and the later video about finding your shot shape. Thank you Liam & Thank you Simon.
Hi Liam This is one of the best videos I've seen and it helped me immediately to straighten out my drives where I've had a problem almost for ever (first joined a golf club in 1991!) of going over the top and slicing. It's also improving my irons which I've struggled with in recent times. Even though my age now starts with an 8, I'm still keen to improve my game and be more consistent and get it nearer to how it used to be. In the lessons I've had previously, I can't recall anyone talking about grip pressure. It's been a revelation. Thank you.
Simon’s method of explaining what the arms should be doing in the golf swing, and how they affect the club face is simple but genius at the same time! Can’t wait to get out there and try it out for myself. Fantastic video Liam! More of the same with Simon if possible, please 👏
Regarding the comment about laying up with a 7 iron. Early in my golfing career I was told that if you want to hit a 7 iron as well as a pro, try laying up to water. Best lesson I have seen. Wish I wasn't on the other side of the world.
Simon Edwards and Manuel De La Torre have some amazing teaching methods. Easy to follow and understand, most importantly consistent when you put the method into practice. I highly recommend watching Manuel as well.
this coach does something that I think a lot of coaches struggle with and he nailed it at the end. He wants to get you hitting better as fast as possible. So many coaches will make you break down your swing and rebuild it back up in their model/standard/image... and it's crap because no two swings look the same... and the most important part of the golf swing is what happens the moment at impact... I think so many coaches are trying to ensure their longevity by getting people to keep coming back for 9 months worth of lessons as they rebuild a swing.
Life changing, without question the best lesson I have ever seen. Tried this on the course today and had the best round I’ve had in ages. Completely got rid of my driver slice.
This nice man made me remaind of my husband+..... Same swing and I'm sure he would have enjoyed this amazing lesson!!!! .....and I have tried myself and have no words ......awesome!!!!! Thankyou Danny, you are the BEST!
Greetings from Canada!! The best golf lesson ever & thank you for sharing. Went to the driving range today & this video has transformed my hall striking in a matter of minutes. Keep up the amazing content & much appreciated. Cheers
I wonder why it is that after thousands of videos all talking about clearing the hips and turning to square the club face, suddenly, in the last couple of weeks these swing the club head videos (Ernest Jones) have all started appearing. Mike Malaska's L to L drill has been a mainstay of mine for a while, as will be the newly found Wasatch Golf and Dan Alton Golf describing the same - but this video is so simply demonstrated. Great stuff
I watched this a couple of times and did some rehearsals at home. Today I went to the range and this feeling of keeping the grip pressure a constant 3 immediately fixed my worst habit of pulling down from the top and hitting low heel shots. I started right away to find the center of the face more easily and I felt the face squaring itself and releasing with little effort. My ball flight was much higher, straighter and starting online, with less effort. Everything I have been trying to figure out. Thank you Liam and Simon.
Brilliant Liam. Players who have been playing decades like me know this, but continue to fall back into this bad habit. Simon has demonstrated this perfectly...makes one want to book a lesson with him. Tells it like it is. Many thanks Simon.
Jaw dropping. Making golf so simple. I tried this on my simulator. Played 9 holes in par. Never done that before. Can’t wait to go on the golf course. Simply brilliant.
Played at my local course last Sunday and I was awful to say the least. To the point of it being embarrassing! Watched a couple of Simon's and Liam's video's, this one and the 3-2-1 knuckle marking on the gloves. Went down to our driving range today and tried to implement your lessons. After a while and a bit of muscle/ brain memory kicking in, things improved. It's still work in progress but a helluva lot better than last Sunday . Cheers guys
Liam. 3 answers on the drive Yes it was a good shot Yes it was a good shot Yes it was a good shot Fantastic coach fantastic simple way of breaking it down by Simon Wonderful coach
This simon bloke may just be the making of you liam , far and away the best stuff youve turned out 👍 much appreciated big thanks to simon , pennies dropping like nobodys business .
Tell you what Liam. Game changer. This 3 feel on arm pressure is magic.. I’ve practice at our range and it’s spot on. Same results you were getting.. Simon explained the fundamentals brilliantly. Top class from the two of you..👍🏻
A pot of gold, fun and a lesson. Liam you looked worried having to answer questions, did it remind you of school again. Best of all this is a lesson that I’ve never heard before!
It is very hard to break the golf swing down to a very simple but fundamental concept that everyone can understand and...IT WORKS!!!!! Thank You Simone and Liam! To the RANGE!
Liam, this is so brilliant in its simplicity. I like this guy! Gives you the stuff to get better right away instead of going off to work on a part and then back--forever--never to piece it all together ever. "Hit that dumb thing with this dumb thing." Swing with a 3 pressure--toe beats the heel.... Thanks for sharing with the Golf Mates.
I had to pause the video Liam at about 5 minutes in, just so I could type this. I already know this is absolute gold, without even watching the video. Brilliant brilliant piece of work mate 👍
Honestly, this is the best golf lesson I have ever watched on RUclips. And I will definitely watch it again.
This guy has not only given a quality lesson to Liam, but to all subscribers. Absolute quality, just excellent viewing. Cheers Liam and Simon.
Yeah his idea of the grip level was great, same as a lot of high handicappers I usually have a death grip, even more so on the driver!
Yep! I'll have to stop thinking of the club's grip as a bad persons neck!!!@@fitzg002
Best Instructor by far I’ve seen on You Tube, explains the golf processes in such an easy, enjoyable way….brilliant 🏌️♂️
Keep these type of videos coming Liam 😊
Best golf lesson on RUclips for amateur golfers.

Love all your videos Liam but this one was something very special. I applaud you both 👏👏👏👏 AW
great story thanks for sharing
@golfmates @simonedwards round about the 24:00 point, I think Simon was about to mention a drill or a practice routine. Any idea what this was?
What a INCREDIBLE simple Lesson...Liam one of the best videos EVER.... Cheers Mate
I've watched this about half a dozen times and watching again tonight as a refresher because I'm heading out to Murcia on Tuesday for four rounds of stableford. Best instructional golf video I've ever seen.
one of the most amazing and simple golf lessons ever

Wow what a guy, no more looking for the magic fix just going to go back and look at this video. Thank you som much Simon.
Liam you enjoyed that well done.
Thank you
Simon Edwards......best golf teacher in the UK by far
He is good
11 handicap here, watched this last night and it made so much sense. Went out this morning and concentrated only on keeping arms at level 3 pressure throughout the entire swing + subtle wrists. Shot 76 off the stick…WOW - it works
Thanks Liam and Simon, will be forever gretefull
We need more of Simon Liam. The guy is not just a very good coach but he explains things easily and to most of us that’s all we need. What a legend.
Best explanation of grip pressure and feeling the club head I've ever heard. Pure gold!!
Agree 1000%!!👍
OMG - Just tried this at the driving range and can’t believe how consistent my ball striking was. Logic that most of us don’t even consider! Great lesson, brilliantly explained Simon 👍🏻
Simon should be doing lectures. What a hero, the best advice delivered in the most interesting way with added passion! Great video!
That's one of the best lessons I've ever seen. Brilliant and so relatable.
After playing golf for forty (40) years and watching countless videos, I see this. This is like my golf Fountain Of Youth. I'm stunned at what I thought I knew and what I have just learned. Thank you! I get this. Subscription added.
Boom 💥
I can't think of another lesson that is better than this. Top top quality.
Hi Liam, for me, this is the first video which deserves being saved as "all-time-goodie" - cheers mate!
This I probably the greatest golf advice I have ever seen.
This is some of the best advice on RUclips. I’ve been guilty of messing with my swing rather than working on what works. Like Simon says a good constant strike will always win over trying to hit it in to next week making your swing path all over the place

What an excellent Coach, this is what coaching should look like!
Sir is a true student of the game. He is unassuming and you can have a conversation with him while you are learning. Top class, thanks for sharing!
Bloody brilliant , I can’t wait to go try this out ❤
I couldnt help but smile in awe of Simon, the way he explained everything.
Yeah funny that. Great point.
Last Saturday, 25 pts in the comp and feeling depressed again as I might as well not play in winter. Couldn’t sleep Saturday night, found this and watched it twice. I totally agree. Possibly the best, most sensible and intelligent golf instruction video I have seen. Excellent.
Thank you.
Now this is very interesting and it is the first I have heard it so clearly laid out. I can’t wait to get to the range.
Thank you for watching
Wow I've spent so much time watching videos trying to fix my swing and I've finally just had that "eureka" moment. So simple and the most helpful video I've seen. Amazing!

This has to be the best instructor/student video on all of RUclips. A blueprint for instructors and students alike. Well done mates👍⛳️
What a brilliant guy, you both make this video really easy and good to watch

Simply the best training video yet Liam, explains why my forearms ache after a round…holding the club to tight 🐿🐿🐿
I have to admit, I love the lessons from Simon. This one in particular has worked wonders for me. I am trying to get back into golf after twenty years away from it. What a lovely bloke and great teacher. No jargon just simple to understand concepts and lots of positive feedback. Impressive results too. Great video. 👏🏼
This is by far the BEST Lesson I watched on YT. Thaaaank you! I will try it and ask the correct questions tonight on the DR!
Fabulous guys thank you so here's to better ball strikes ⛳️👌
Sorry guys, this is the second tuition of yours i've watched this morning but no more,,, i'm off to the range. Cheers guys, quality.
I'm keeping this video to hand as it is quite simply the best lesson I've seen on RUclips. The science of golf explained simply and logically and takes out a 1,000 different thoughts we all go through when trying to figure out our golf swing.
Awesome.

Absolutely brilliant video. My mind is blown! Such simple yet brilliant advice! I cannot wait to get to the range and try this out. 👏 👏
It’s wonderful the way Simon dumbs down the lesson so that it sticks with us. Keep it simple….
Hi Liam This is one of the best videos I've seen and it helped me immediately to straighten out my drives where I've had a problem almost for ever (first joined a golf club in 1991!) of going over the top and slicing.
Really terrific. One of the best instruction lessons I have seen. So simple too!
Perhaps the most fascinating and illumating golf lesson I have ever seen.Thankyou !
Simon Edwards and Manuel De La Torre have some amazing teaching methods. Easy to follow and understand, most importantly consistent when you put the method into practice. I highly recommend watching Manuel as well.
I could watch Simon all day. Great stuff.
Brilliant brilliant golf video. Thanks Liam for bringing it to us. Few light bulb moments there. Cheers

Not many videos I watch start to finish…especially golf lesson videos…this was a belter 👍
I just came across your channel. This instructor is one of the best I have ever seen. What a video, your swing looks transformed!
Thank you
This nice man made me remaind of my husband+..... Same swing and I'm sure he would have enjoyed this amazing lesson!!!! .....and I have tried myself and have no words ......awesome!!!!! Thankyou Danny, you are the BEST!
Magic, as a self taught golfer although I know most of those feelings, your simple explanation is the best ever,
Where have you been ?
Greetings from Canada!!
The best golf lesson ever & thank you for sharing. Went to the driving range today & this video has transformed my hall striking in a matter of minutes.
Keep up the amazing content & much appreciated.
Cheers
Had a lesson with Simon Friday, absolute legend! Completely transformed my game and way of thinking.

Wow, some of the best explanations of shot mechanics I've ever heard... Simon is brilliant.
Cheers Simon, you have made golf even more enjoyable with sharing that golden nugget of knowledge….
It was brilliant. Going again
@GolfMates look forward to that. Simon very clear and likeable. He knows his stuff
Cheers guys
Liam. 3 answers on the drive

Wonderful coach
This simon bloke may just be the making of you liam , far and away the best stuff youve turned out 👍 much appreciated big thanks to simon , pennies dropping like nobodys business .
Tell you what Liam.
Game changer.
This 3 feel on arm pressure is magic..
I’ve practice at our range and it’s spot on.
Same results you were getting..
Simon explained the fundamentals brilliantly.
Top class from the two of you..👍🏻
What a guru. That was marvellous instruction and so presented to make it understandable 😮
Brilliant simple lesson. Applied the advice and hit 43 points in my next game. Thanks very much Liam and Simon……!!!
Not only a quality lesson but great entertainment as well. Brilliant.
