  • In this video I demonstrate a chipping technique that is BULLET PROOF! It’s SIMPLE - EASY TO IMPLEMENT - AND REPEATABLE - Time and time and time again!!!
    So many golfers struggle with that supposedly “EASY CHIP” from just off the edge of the greens with skulls, duffs and even shanks. It’s no wonder golfers concede to PUTTING even when they know they should be chipping!
    You have to learn how to PUTT WITH LOFT! NO MORE traditional chipping, with the grip in the fingers, a ton of body rotation and excessive play in the hands. For a “SIMPLE” little chip you have WAY TOO MUCH movement over the ball and it’s time to quieten things down once and for all.
    You’re going to learn HOW to chip, HOW to set up like a PRO! What DRILLS to implement to get you QUICK results. And, lastly - A phenomenal SYSTEM/CONCEPT for DISTANCE CONTROL!!
    I’m confident that this video will take your CHIPPING to a level you couldn’t have imagined!!! GET AFTER IT - And, SUBSCRIBE!! I look forward to having you join “TEAM EMERY!” I’m on a mission to help you “INCREASE THE ENJOYMENT OF YOUR GAME!”
    Cheers! Coach A. ⛳️🏌️‍♂️🙏🏻👊🏻

    Great teaching tips. Easy to understand. Sometimes I think a lobotomy is my only path to better chipping, but, I’ll try this first.
    THE hardest chips for me by far are when I’m close to the pin and only need to swing the club back to say 7 o’clock and swing thru the same. I spasm more times than I care to admit to

    This is great. I really like the rule of 12 chipping, but i intuitively converted it to 2-part-1 as you described it (2:1) and now have it in a google sheet along with all my club yardages and for different stimp greens. Conversely, I can hit an 8 and a wedge on a new course practice green and translate that back to a stimp number for putting (if my wedge roles out 1:1 then I know it’s a 9, for instance…if it’s 2:1 then it’s a 10 and so on).

    Depending on the loft of the iron used, you have to turn the face in (counterclockwise for a right-hander) since the club is more vertical. If not, the ball will travel off your intended path.

      @@AndrewEmeryGolf I’ve discovered the secret to lower scores is to spend 70% of your practice time on the short game…and of that 70%, spent 70% on putting. I only practice putting with one ball only, lagging to the hole, then holing out, practice like you play! If using more than one ball, I’m practicing from 5’ and in, setting up my putts from different slopes and sides of the hole. ⛳️

    Great stuff and nice and simple. I've been chipping (& pitching up to 30 yards) lead hand low for several weeks and the results have been great. It helps keep the shoulders level and the low point in front (of the ball), low and long. Weight left, level shoulders and a touch of shaft lean that leaves some bounce. Straight back = crisper contact. It takes some getting used to (used to putt that way which helps). Up & down numbers are way up. Curiously seem to get more loft on the shot. The toe down set up works well in deeper grass too.

    I chip only with my left arm and hand. I started doing it as a drill and I got really good at it. It seems so easy to me and I have a really great feel for the shot because only one hand is involved. I never decelerate the club. So now I do it all the time around the green. I use my 60, 56, and 50-degree wedges depending on distance and how high I want the ball to go. I can sweep the ball off the tightest of lies, no problem. I never dig or skull the shot. I drive everybody crazy when I am playing with them as I get up and down time after time.

    Yes, this is how I chip -- different grip closer to the steel -- not quite putting grip, but close. I actually put my right foot slightly behind and on my toe (forces consistent weight to the left), feeling the weight to the outside of the left foot. Also slight hinge and hold to take the wrist out of it. Now the most consistent chipping, and more up & downs then ever. Thank You!!!

    Your teaching points are dead on . .. but I think the advice you mentioned on the right shoulder and its correlation with the low point was extremely important and can be expounded upon... like u said there is so much energy and effort in the full swing and getting that shoulder to drop down plane .. then we get to chip there is to much cortisol in our system .. Thanks for sharing!

    • @AndrewEmeryGolf
      @AndrewEmeryGolf  Год назад +1

      Best advice is to get on the chipping green and figure out your own ratios. As far as you AW is concerned - It depends very much on the level of technique as well as the speed of the greens, but in general you’ll have a 1:1 ratio when chipping with the SW/AW. Hi Andrew, for these chips with the toe down, are you still striking the ball fairly close to the centre of the club face?

    • @AndrewEmeryGolf
      @AndrewEmeryGolf  4 месяца назад +1

      With the heel elevated you’re striking towards the toe. This deadens the strike and helps create a more unobstructed (grass) - approach to the ball!

    • @AndrewEmeryGolf

      Around a 5/10 for the short shots is ideal. The challenge is maintaining a constant grip pressure - While at the same time - your wrist, elbow and shoulder joints have low tension and a full range of motion! Thanks for watching! Best, Coach A. ⛳️🏌️‍♂️🙏🏻
