This CHIPPING VIDEO will turn you into a MACHINE!

- In this video I demonstrate a chipping technique that is BULLET PROOF! It’s SIMPLE - EASY TO IMPLEMENT - AND REPEATABLE - Time and time and time again!!!
So many golfers struggle with that supposedly “EASY CHIP” from just off the edge of the greens with skulls, duffs and even shanks. It’s no wonder golfers concede to PUTTING even when they know they should be chipping!
You have to learn how to PUTT WITH LOFT! NO MORE traditional chipping, with the grip in the fingers, a ton of body rotation and excessive play in the hands. For a “SIMPLE” little chip you have WAY TOO MUCH movement over the ball and it’s time to quieten things down once and for all.
You’re going to learn HOW to chip, HOW to set up like a PRO! What DRILLS to implement to get you QUICK results. And, lastly - A phenomenal SYSTEM/CONCEPT for DISTANCE CONTROL!!
I’m confident that this video will take your CHIPPING to a level you couldn’t have imagined!!! GET AFTER IT - And, SUBSCRIBE!! I look forward to having you join “TEAM EMERY!” I’m on a mission to help you “INCREASE THE ENJOYMENT OF YOUR GAME!”
Cheers! Coach A. ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻👊🏻

One of the best chipping videos so far ...
Thank you Michael! Get after it! Coach A. ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻
Andrew, I’ve watched dozens of YT vids. This by FAR the best I’ve seen. Thank you.
Doc - I’m glad you enjoyed the vid. With golf, very often the simplest options are the most impactful. Thanks for watching!

My chipping has been lights out thanks to this video.

Grip is critical!! Thanks for watching!

My chipping practice session today was very productive thanks to your video.
One thing I changed was my grip. I changed to overlap vs my standard interlock. It helped me think “putting” stoke instead of “chipping” stroke
Great job! ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻
Brilliant!! Hugely helpful video. Such a simple technique. Excited to get out and practice this.
Glad it was helpful! Best, A. 🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻
I'm so glad I found this channel. I'm binge watching these great instructional videos. I'll be putting into action at the driving range

That Chipping matrix is brilliant. Thanks for sharing Andrew
Glad you found it helpful Allan! Once you get your “Chipping Matrix” on paper you’ll have way more confidence!! Good luck!

I'm gonna watch this a couple more times to be sure i have it and am looking forward to giving it a try. GREAT content here!!! Thank you!

Andrew, This is the best video on chipping I have ever seen-- and I've seen over a hundred.Thank you. Salil
Salil! Thank you Sir! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and found it helpful. Welcome aboard! Coach A. 🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻
Great teaching tips. Easy to understand. Sometimes I think a lobotomy is my only path to better chipping, but, I’ll try this first.
THE hardest chips for me by far are when I’m close to the pin and only need to swing the club back to say 7 o’clock and swing thru the same. I spasm more times than I care to admit to
I’ve had two frontal lobotomies and neither helped! This chipping method did! Get after it! 😂⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻
Really good clear advice. Thank you. I've had the yips for so long now that my head's a mess. I've watched tons of Dan Grieve vids and even understanding what he says I still struggle!

This is great. I really like the rule of 12 chipping, but i intuitively converted it to 2-part-1 as you described it (2:1) and now have it in a google sheet along with all my club yardages and for different stimp greens. Conversely, I can hit an 8 and a wedge on a new course practice green and translate that back to a stimp number for putting (if my wedge roles out 1:1 then I know it’s a 9, for instance…if it’s 2:1 then it’s a 10 and so on).
I’m glad you have your ratios calibrated!! Thanks for the comment!
Best, Coach A. 🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻
Excellent, love the in depth detail. Thanks
Thanks Dan! It’s a great way to chip around the fringe.
Best, Coach A. ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻
Bump and run is how I make more chips than any. It was the first chipping lesson my coach taught me at age 13. My problem is distance control on flop shots.
Thanks for the comment Jason! That chipping technique works wonders. I’m sure I’ll be doing a lot more short game videos in the coming months.
Best, Coach A. ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻
The nostalgia is the reason this game is so fun❤
A salient point for sure. Nostalgia is golf’s true commodity!! ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻
Short game is really where I dropped strokes. When I was able to pitch within 5yd circle. 10-60yds. I was able to score consistently in the mid to low 80s. I was shooting in the 70s when I could keep my tee shots in play. He is giving great advice here!
Thanks Alex!! Congrats on your improvement. Best, Coach A. ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻
Gee this is the best chipping video I have seen. Will get out today and practice what you have said. Just subscribed.
Thanks heaps

That’s awesome!! If only everyone realized how important putting is!! Keep up the good work! ⛳️😎🙏🏻
Good stuff, TQ! 12 minus iron # = roll ratio. no need to memorise.

Two things, Andrew. 1. It is amazing how many of your "Do Nots" I recall being a part of my last round (and which WILL NOT be part of the next one) and 2. I follow quite a few coaches and swore that was enough; this was so valuable I will subscribe to your channel.
Thanks for watching! Bottom line - Keep it simple!Welcome aboard!

Depending on the loft of the iron used, you have to turn the face in (counterclockwise for a right-hander) since the club is more vertical. If not, the ball will travel off your intended path.
Thanks for watching! A. 🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻
@@AndrewEmeryGolf I’ve discovered the secret to lower scores is to spend 70% of your practice time on the short game…and of that 70%, spent 70% on putting. I only practice putting with one ball only, lagging to the hole, then holing out, practice like you play! If using more than one ball, I’m practicing from 5’ and in, setting up my putts from different slopes and sides of the hole. ⛳️
Fantastic info. That helps me a ton. Wrote it down. Thank you!
Thank you! Get after it! ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻
Great stuff and nice and simple. I've been chipping (& pitching up to 30 yards) lead hand low for several weeks and the results have been great. It helps keep the shoulders level and the low point in front (of the ball), low and long. Weight left, level shoulders and a touch of shaft lean that leaves some bounce. Straight back = crisper contact. It takes some getting used to (used to putt that way which helps). Up & down numbers are way up. Curiously seem to get more loft on the shot. The toe down set up works well in deeper grass too.
You have a very high golf IQ Ashley!! Great work! All salient points and I’m glad you’re improving. Thanks for watching!

Coach A. ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻
I chip only with my left arm and hand. I started doing it as a drill and I got really good at it. It seems so easy to me and I have a really great feel for the shot because only one hand is involved. I never decelerate the club. So now I do it all the time around the green. I use my 60, 56, and 50-degree wedges depending on distance and how high I want the ball to go. I can sweep the ball off the tightest of lies, no problem. I never dig or skull the shot. I drive everybody crazy when I am playing with them as I get up and down time after time.
That’s awesome George! Cam Smith practices left hand only every day and is one of the best chippers in the world. You’re in good company! The trick is finding what works best for you. Well done mate! Thanks for watching!

Paul Runyan with the heel off the ground, i had a putting lesson off him in the early 80's at a golf expo, had no idea who he was. Until i read up about him. Legend of the short game, flogged Sam Snead in the US PGA in the 30's.
He was a legend!! ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻
Paul Runyan also popularized the rule of 11 chipping technique which has evolved to the matrix we see here.
Very useful technique 👌
Yes, this is how I chip -- different grip closer to the steel -- not quite putting grip, but close. I actually put my right foot slightly behind and on my toe (forces consistent weight to the left), feeling the weight to the outside of the left foot. Also slight hinge and hold to take the wrist out of it. Now the most consistent chipping, and more up & downs then ever. Thank You!!!
Great to hear Steve! Glad you liked my Chipping video!
Great tips . Thanks

Thanks Charlie! Just like our playing days! 😎🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻
Your teaching points are dead on . .. but I think the advice you mentioned on the right shoulder and its correlation with the low point was extremely important and can be expounded upon... like u said there is so much energy and effort in the full swing and getting that shoulder to drop down plane .. then we get to chip there is to much cortisol in our system .. Thanks for sharing!
Very salient points! The position of the trail shoulder has a massive influence on the vertical plane. Thanks for watching. Coach A. ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻

Up to how far away from the he e green would you use that putt/chip technique & what type of grass? For example: Fringe type grass only & 3 yards off of green or less?
Dave - correct! This is for those simple ones we all struggle with!! Mainly fringe when the surface won’t receive a putt very well. Thanks for watching! Coach A. ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻
Going to introduce this tomorrow
Get after it Jim!! 🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻
I can watch 5 chipping videos and each one shows a different technique. Not every technique will work for everyone as we all have different bodies and different personal traits. That said, I'm going to give this a shot during my next practice session. I'm an old dog that's happy to learn any new trick that's helpful.
Very salient point Steve! I’m not a Method Coach. There are just too many variables. I like to meet my students where they are! That’s obviously not possible with YT vids but I do know from experience that putting with loft - while uncomfortable at first, is EASY!
There are a lot of ways you can chip - find something that works for you!! Thanks for watching! Coach A. ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻
@@AndrewEmeryGolf The important thing is creating repeatable processes that work and your 'technique' and methodology does just that. I have watched enough to know who is effective and having just found you I am grateful that you are teaching with this level of clarity
I had 2x tap in 1 putts yesterday for 18 holes using this technique from an historic average of under 0.5. Also missed 2x make-able putts because I am a rubbish putter. Thanks Andrew!
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching!

Hi. Just found your video. The advice seems very easy to take to the course. I guess this technique would be just as effective with a pitching wedge or an 8 iron.
Yes sir! Use your “Chipping Matrix!” ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻
Great video and instructions now I see what my problems are as I was in the fingers and swinging hip to hip and my target was the pin not the hot spot , could you post the club ratios and what do I use my AW wedge for? Thanks
Best advice is to get on the chipping green and figure out your own ratios. As far as you AW is concerned - It depends very much on the level of technique as well as the speed of the greens, but in general you’ll have a 1:1 ratio when chipping with the SW/AW. Thanks for watching! Coach A. 🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻
@@AndrewEmeryGolf ok Thanks I appreciate the advice I’ll get out there soon
Some great insights, will be trying to incorporate this into my chipping, especially the left hand low drill.
How tight is your grip - I was taught to have the lightest possible grip, but you feel like you don't have total control .
PS, I thought volume was a little low
Thanks JP! Appreciate you watching and noted on the volume! Coach A. ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻
This is a brillaint instructional video. I always chip with a 7 iron and most of my mates (who use LW or PW) reckon I'm a good chipper. I'm all for 'low tarrif' shots with fewer degrees of freedom. This equates to more consistency and your tips in this video are simply great.
Stay in your lane Sandyman!!! Their minds are writing checks their bodies can’t cash!! Thanks for watching.

NO only Phil M can help your Chipping..get to the next level sir..👍🏾😂🤣😂💯
Just emailed Phil!! Thanks for the sound advice. Coach A. 🤣
Great instruction, great tips. When I was a better chipper, I used a very similar technique from AJ Bonar. Thank you for this, I’m going to start using this system again. Practice this technique, find my roll-out distances, and build my confidence and efficiency around the greens. 👏🏼
Michael, I’m glad you liked the video. Thanks for watching! Coach A. ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻
Poor audio
Like the say in England. Chap great video
Cheers mate!!! 🏌️♂️⛳️🏴
Hi Andrew, for these chips with the toe down, are you still striking the ball fairly close to the centre of the club face?
With the heel elevated you’re striking towards the toe. This deadens the strike and helps create a more unobstructed (grass) - approach to the ball!
Best, Coach A. 🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻
This instruction is great. How about a video for hitting out of greenside rough.
Rick, it’s on the upcoming vid. list - stay tuned and thanks for watching) Coach A. ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻
Andrew is the edge of the club flat to the ground or the toe slightly raised? Tried this today with all the three clubs you mentioned and the concept is better than what I usually do.
The heel is raised Philip. (Toe down). Get the club vertical! 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻 Coach A.
What grip integrity do you recommend for chipping, pitching, and putting?
Around a 5/10 for the short shots is ideal. The challenge is maintaining a constant grip pressure - While at the same time - your wrist, elbow and shoulder joints have low tension and a full range of motion! Thanks for watching! Best, Coach A. ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻
Great
Thank you! Coach A. ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻
👏👏👏👍 I like that.
Glad you like it! 🙏🏻⛳️🏌️♂️
So, I got my nose opposite my right foot and my left elbow tucked in against and over my right knee, then I got my right elbow opposite my left ear...and when I chipped, I fell over in a heap on the grass! But really, I think you are very good....Plus you don't whine like a yank and repeat yourself ad nauseam like most of them do! And as a bonus...you didn't try to sell me anything.
Now that was funny!! Thanks for watching.
A. 🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻
My first instinct for shots close to the green is 7 iron, bump n run (Scottish you see)…. less loft = less spin = less dispersion FACT! The top pros like high loft for these shots but they practice 8 hours a day!
You’re spot on Doug!! Thanks for watching.
