    I absolutely love this left-hand-only drill. As a right-handed player I fight my right side dominating in my swing. I can see how using this drill will bring much-needed freedom and a natural path to my swing. Can't wait to give it a go.

      Due to practicing left hand only the last few years since i took up golf the added but useless benefit is that i can now have a rally at table tennis holding 2 bats! i would have whiffed evertine b4 golf! Golf has turned me almost ambidextrous!

    Great ideas, golf coaches commonly talk about “match ups” , this grip with this club position and this hip turn matches this side bend,tied to this post position.. lots of us still remember Coaches telling us to take a ball in our right hand and “throw the ball at the ball on the ground😮. Thanks for the clarity and insights… Truly “Good Coaching” And a few laughs to boot!

    As a golfer of over 40 years I think that your videos are amongst the best out there and your explanations are really good. Just one point that I have a problem understanding is when you show the club laying down and being pulled can you explain how the golf club lines up for contact as it always looks as if the club shaft is way above the plane line. I can see how an amateur golfer would panic (if that's the right word) to get the club back to the ball without some manipulation.

    Not watched video yet but i know he does good ones! I also know sequencing is the secret of good golf!
    in fact its the secret of all sports its just harder in golf as we are stationary and the balls stationary ie we are not moving and not reacting in sequence
    Talking fractions of seconds but if get sequencing right i get behind the shaft early and with everything (feel)
    The butt of the grip feel like its the last thing to move on backswing

    Stu, In this drill, You’ve just explained a concept that feels like it’s been wrongly taught/applied since I started playing golf some 20 years ago! AND…that one handed swing doesn’t work if your club handle to head balance is ‘off’ (by me)👍
    Cheers,
    Dunc

      Absolutely, the top hand is so so influential , but be warned, if the grip is not right the outcome could be a disaster. Glad you enjoyed Duncan! Best wishes Stu 😊

    Thank you Sir. For the first time I'm starting to understand. I know why I have such hard time to hit the ball with one hand now. I was trying to control the club head/face. It's so hard to do. It has it's own will to say...

    This follows on from a previous vid where over the top fault being one of face / path rather than a positional problem, I like the way that your
    Explanations make you think rather than just saying what you should do to correct a problem…… 🤓

    Great video, again Stuart.
    You mentioned ‘take the thumb off’ in the drill. Why is that important here, please?

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  Год назад

      Hey Nick - big thanks for the kind words.
      Simply put, the left thumb can be such a destructive element in the left hand, taking off the thumb will make you appreciate the power of the two levers and how the club head “must” feel untouched/manipulated

    • @kidsstopmecarping2130
      @kidsstopmecarping2130 Год назад

      This makes total sense, just letting the body naturally react to the clubs weight.
      I understand what needs doing but unfortunately I just can't deliver this into my swing.
      I do really struggle with grip pressure and tension, so I presume my issues will prevent this happening??

  • @adrianmangino3682

    Stuart, love your videos. I know this move is correct. My miss with this is as I pull down face feels very open and ball goes shooting off to the right. What am I missing?

      Stuart, thanks for quick response. I should have said 5.2 index, grip good definitely under left heel pad on strong side. Just trying to get better. It seems like if use “motor cycle “ move when pulling down club face squares up. What do you think?

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  Год назад

      I wouldn’t apply that change to square face. Without seeing I would be guessing what your issue is Adrian unfortunately. Go through my videos and hopefully one of them may shed some light.

    I have to say this, popular or not. The animations for liking and subscribing are just plain obnoxious. I reckon they are obnoxious enough to dissuade some from taking the action(s). Your content is wonderful. I'm subscribed. But I'm getting a genuine gutful of the noisy interruptions that detract from the content since they interrupt my concentration, and I suspect are actually counter productive from what you want to accomplish. Your content is good enough to not need this rubbish. Please consider losing it.

    The interesting thing about your waving the club around shots (11:23) is how when the time is right you seem to go automatically into great footwork, hip rotation and posture angle to control the swing. Its text book. This is why you see some weird and wacky swings being successful, most, if not all, use the fundamental mechanics correctly.
