Who’s listening to this in 2024?
I just did !! Best decade ever !!
Have the album Invisible Touch in the vehicle. So good. Best to you!
And 2025 and 2026 and on and on
Yo
🙋🏻♂️
I took the 80s for granted. 🤦♂️
We all did!
Check out those 80 styles for sure!
Ain't that the truth....
Yeah we all did such magical fun times that are gone. I believe we will find it again someday...
We all did...damn
I miss the 80s ..I wanna go back in time ...anyone wanna join me
I'm right there with you on that plan! 🎉😂
I do
If you can, pick up a copy of his book. Not Dead Yet. A fabulous look back...💕
Have we left yet?
Unfortunately, I think @ it Daily -
Then put on 80 /90s music on Repeat
& Get Happy 😊
80's. The best music era. Best wonderful teenage years.
I don't think any of us knew how good we had it back then.
I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then (re: music)! lol
Actually, there are still great musicians, but corporate radio ignores them.
True story! What I'd trade to go back and take another shot, so much I'd get right!
Sure didn't 😢
This song is so epic. I swear Phil Collins achieved some kind of musical enlightenment in the 80's where he just could not write a bad song. It was just hit after hit after hit between Genesis and his solo albums.
True!!!
Phil Collins is EPIC there will NEVER be any one like him EVER
YES!
Definitely!!
Peter Gabriel :P
@@paulnolan4971 not even close lol but again to each it’s own!
@@melissabalcacer43 ;) I still adore Phil, especially now what he's goin thru :)
60s,70s,80s music is the best era of music in the history of the world
Two years ago, I learned my best friend in high school (class of '85) had drank herself to death. I remember the day we were introduced to Genesis, and it literally changed her. Turns out, she was passionate about their music for the rest of her life. I was driving home crying, and turned on the radio and this came on. Hadn't heard it in 20 years. It was the right goodbye from / for my friend. Thank you Genesis for years of soundtrack for our lives.
😪😪😪😪
I hear you this song is bittersweet...I loved a guy who I never told how I felt but he's gone now out of my life and married to someone else I'll always love him in my heart
I wish i could go back to this time
Yep world now is f##ked
Me too.......2021
You can, for at least 4:17 minutes watching this video, or in your minds memories for as much and as long as you'd like.
Oh how I wish I could go back to these days!
Yes Bob……. Obviously we cannot go back but when I hear music like this, it truly takes me back to a time in my life where the only worry I had was being in college and finding the money to go to a concert. Oh and by the way, those concert tickets were about 25.00 back then!!! Crazy how things have changed. I saw Genesis back then and I’m quite certain that I paid less than 20.00 for a ticket. The world has gone crazy!!!!
I sincerely don’t understand how Phil is not in the top 3 singers ever. So many hits and number 1s over his time. Forever a legend.
He is in my Top 10 for sure.
Top 10:
Michael Jackson
John Lennon
Billy Joel
Phil Collins
Paul McCartney
Cat Stevens
Bryan Adams
Tom Petty
Prince
Liam Gallagher
💯EXACTLY
@@bleep77 that’s a good list!
Forever!!!
I read that he's reviled by the left for being suspected of having conservative views.
How the hell did we go from lyrical complexity like this, to the shit on the radio now?
Preach!!
Right!!!
Sinatra fans said the same thing about Beatles and Elvis fans
Computerized beats.

Add Phil Collins to the short list of best male rock vocalist, perfect pitch.

He’s on my all time favorite list❤️
Absolutely!
He made my list for sure!
I closed my eyes, and for four minutes and seventeen seconds, I was back in the fall of my sophomore year of college.
Love this ! Perfect
The older it gets, the better it sounds. Beautiful.
I love Phil's tongue-in-cheek intro to this. ❤
This song is just so freaking good
even better than that --
musicianship and songwriting… who knew
Yes it is!!!!
So good!!;
Mid 80's. Magical time to be alive. 21 yrs old and had the world by the balls.Too bad I didnt realize it. We were all too busy having fun. The music, movies and life in general.
Absolutely
Tony Banks keyboards on this track are just sublime...
Agreed!!!!
This song was huge when I divorced my first wife.
I still love her with all my heart. And miss her every day.
But
You can make it through keep your eyes on Jesus listen to your beautiful music think about the good times give this music bring back the good memories 2:31
Late at night when u call my name the only sound you will hear is the sound of your voice calling.... calling out to me.
As a kid, I liked many songs, but when I grew up and understood more about life, I realized that 80's music was loaded with lyrical depth and emotion. This song has an interesting juxtaposition, musically it's kind of upbeat, but these lyrics are quite poetic and sad. Such a perfectly arranged song.
It was a combination of lyricism of people who actually had thought about what they wanted to put into their art, and artistry to make that consumable for those who were out to sell records/tapes/CDs. The problem with music today isn't that artists aren't artists, it is that too many people in charge of labels/platforms are chasing dollars to let these artists develop 'properly'.
There are many recent songs that touch me in the same way these hits do, they are just mired in the swamp of fly-by-night operations looking for a buck, or megacorps churning out gunk like they're doing us a favor.
Okay boomer
I agree good rhythm
Sometimes a great song reminds you of a special person and remarkable woman!😢
@@kevinhoward603 i am right there with you brother
Please pray for beloved Phil, he isn't doing too good with his health. We love you Phil.
Yes we do
That’s because he went Disney, the dark side’
Praying for him🙏I love his music and him so much
Phil, this life is just a dream,we will live forever 🙏
Just saw Genesis in concert in Chicago 2 nights ago. Aside from the nerve damage he has or whatever makes it hard for him to walk, he seemed to be doing pretty good. Was definitely in good spirits at the concert, joking around with everyone, and DAMN does he still sound good.
This man may not realize how his music, lyrics, and personal experiences have impacted so many of our lives....for quite some time..... I am 61 and I can say that the influence of this music was major in my life..... crazy....maybe.....but true
Great, but Mike Rutherford mainly wrote this song.
Agreed, you are SO right! There are SO many of his and Genesis's songs that have impacted my life and helped me IMMENSELY through some turbulent and trying times.
Lisa I am almost 60, I feel the same way about their music. As far as I am concerned it does not matter who wrote the songs. Their music is priceless.
That would make you 63 years old you're an amazing person most girls do not share their age I'm 61 for some weird reason I had a heart attack a few weeks ago but I'm doing fine anyways this song is amazing brings back so many memories of the 80s
@@EdSmith-bq1ox Here is to your rapid recovery! Age to me is just a number. I took my Mom for A magical mystery tour yesterday..And had a playlist of her fav songs . Music gets me nostalgic. So, I literally took her to our house we grew up in. The owners welcomed our intrusion, we had a blast. The son was there, he is 60 and I told him stories of who exactly had been to that house, including Jeff Beck.
Song still gives me chills they really don’t make music like this anymore ❤️
They damned sure dont.
It's sad no music today will ever compare to 70s 80s and 90s❤
This transports me to emotional happiness.
Yeah the "just throwing it all away, is there nothing that I could say?" chorus part is so awesome.
True!!!!
Invisible Touch was the best record of 1986-87.
Hands down, my favorite Gensis song ever. I could put it on repeat and listen to it over and over again and love every second.
I listen to it several times every day..................
Me too
Still jam it everyday. This song heals heartbreak a little bit every time you hear it!
❤
Me too...every time I hear this song I'm immediately teleported back to 1986. It is so close to my heart and just every time I hear it I'm in tears by the end. I miss those times so much as I was 10 years old in 86 and it was just an amazing magical time in my life. I wish Phil could live forever as I love him SO MUCH!
One of the greatest singers and groups ever!! With Genesis and as a solo artist, Phil Collins is one of my all-time favorites!
The solace I've found merely in virtue of the soothing cadence of his voice is remarkable to say the least. What a legend.
The music is just Timeless when you listen to one of those songs is like going back in time for those times when they came back when it came out I love Genesis

everyone looked so much happier and innocent back then, sigh
It was before everyone was on information overload.
@@kristinepfs right. Ignorance IS bliss!
It's the internet. Demise of collective happiness. All of the prophecies say the same thing. An invisible web will take over the world, that's the Hopi prophecy.
Since then Phil Collins has gone through 3 bitter divorces (one which cost him $46 million)--he is currently trying to get his third wife evicted from his home in Miami--and on top of all this his health is failing (diabetes/neck/severe back problems--now not able to drum anymore and spending most of his time in a wheelchair)--yea I would say he was much "happier" then
@@bufnyfan1 to have made and lost $46 million to a wife and still feed and clothe yourself is a blessing, and good thing this man can sing and write songs. Idk he and his wife are in the NY Post this week? Maybe they're on the mend.

Top song.
1986. Lots of radio play. Remember it well. Sighs. 40 years old now and I stay with stuff like this when songs were still good and had meaning. I applaud the young upstarts who can appreciate old stuff like this, even if they weren't born yet.
Told my ex to really listen to this song and about 2 weeks she came back. Good job Phil!
Right on, brother! When Phil sings about love lost, you can really feel it. You can really see yourself in his lyrics. Hope you guys are still going strong!
From an autistic point of view, mostly algebraic logic, your sentence means that she came back to Phil! Great song, good for you, happy ending!
BS,,, you date men...
So she wants Phil Collins, not you..LOL
The eighties had songs that had hidden messages. I think that's why I like the money music from then.
I attended 2 Genesis concerts (back-to-back) at the inside Oakland Coliseum, CA in the 1990s. More fun than I can describe here. Mahalo, ya'll! * Cav *
