Hi Cheyl, love the colours you picked for your Frankie baseball tee. I must get on your site and order some of both pink and white and I also think the black is good too, you are right about jersey fabrics, I sew almost all my clothes in jersey, I just prefer it to cottons etc , its more forgiving with my lumps and bumps. I will also be purchasing Tilly's new book. I have made the Stella pattern as it was free with a magazine I bought a few weeks ago, it turned out lovely. xx

Ok how many other people tried to measure their foot against their arm !! lol I do the four pins for the neck line I just fold the top in half and do front and back fold and then put those together to find the side point, works well and no measurements. I also use my walking foot for stretch especially the hems. I always straighten the side seams as I don't have any curves and just end up with a sticky out side bit at my hips ! so that will work well for your husband. I love a raglan I have just made the Visby a new pattern by Itch to Stitch it has a plain raglan a Henley and a hoodie. May be my new favourite as I didn't have to adjust the pattern at all.

I’ve just watched this again as thinking I should make some white tees. I made this Frankie tee but wasn’t super happy with the finish on the neck. It certainly wasnt as nice as yours. Seeing this again made me think I should dig it out as could have been over critical😆 I think I may have tried to do the little triangle detail at the front which didn’t work very well for me. I always enjoy your videos Cheryl as so natural and detailed. 😘

You're right, we can be over critical of our work, although I've noticed more flaws on shop-bought clothes too since I began sewing, I guess none of us are perfect eh?

Great tips, I do that as well quartering off the neckband and body of the shirt so the neckband goes in smooth. The fabric is beautiful. Can you believe I still haven't bought a tilly pattern? One day I'll have to give her patterns a try. Btw, I'm just noticing you colored your hair, very pretty.

You should grab a copy of her book fantastic patterns and the explanation is flawless. Tilly & The Buttons has aother book called Love at First Stitch fantastic patterns in there too and tbe explanations is flawless too happy sewing Natural Dane 😊
Loving the Frankie top, I need to make this this month!! I'm trying to make basics to pull my wardrobe together (& I have the book) so should have a go. I'm interested in seeing your "male" version as of it turns out ok my hubby would like a few of these 😉 x

Although rayon might be my favorite fabric, I really prefer a cotton rich knit. I find rayon jerseys to be super springy, stretchy, and clingy compared to cotton jerseys. Your fabrics look gorgeous!

Hi Cheryl, love your baseball tee👍. I have just received Tillie's new book for my Birthday and my first two choices were the baseball tee and the hoodie 😁. Love them both and looking forward to seeing your hoodie too. Great advice about the necklines. Funnily enough I got into stretch fabrics quicker than woven and I'm sure that's because I got myself an overlocker. Such a fantastic thing to have when using stretch fabric and makes things so quick. Saying that for people who haven't got one the zig zag stitch is great too isn't it👍. The other good thing about using a nice stretch cotton spandex is that any bits left over can be used for underwear and I have found that knickers are not as complicated as you might think. You always have such lovely fabrics in your shop so I'll definitely be keeping my eye on that😉. Happy sewing Cheryl and looking forward to your next video😘

Your hair is lovely and so is your shirt. Good luck with the man shirts. FYI advice for neckline. Don't use a measuring tape, just fold the garment in half. Mark with chalk, fold in fourths, mark with chalk. Now the neckline is quartered and you can easily attach them together. There is a huge variety of tee shirt quality here in the states, so if you don't mind sharing, what brand does your husband bring back to you?

Thank you so much, I love all your videos but this one was especially helpful! I usually make size 5 in Tilly patterns too, but I was worried that the Frankie T-shirt looked a bit baggy and loose fitting for me. However, it looks so good on you that I’m going to have a go at it now, so thank you for sharing your thoughts on it. I’ve made the Stella hoodie and absolutely love it, I chose some grey and pink flowered French Terry, which was perfect, and lined the hood with pink jersey. My sister has already begged me to make her one! I hope yours turns out well too x

actually, your neck measurement (generally speaking) is twice your wrist! so it makes perfect sense that it worked out 😊
