- Hello rangers!
Well this was a long time in the publishing... I had it ready to go on youtube last Thursday and luckily I checked it as it was completely corrupted and unwatchable... this was shortly before i realised my laptop was dying and to cut a long story short I am on a new laptop now! The files were all messed up but luckily still on my camera so now re-edited and here, finally, is last week's make from Stretch and the last video with my blue hair. I am now brunette and making the next make, Freya which is coming to the vlog very soon!!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy making Frankie with me and my Pfaff Coverstitch 3.0!
Take care lovelies,
Xox Gabby and Hobbes!

Gabby the Frankie Baseball T Shirt from Tilly is lovely on you both fabrics look great well done you 😊😊
Miss Vaaaaaanjie.....😂 Lovely video from you as always Gabby xx
You look dynamite! I love floral!!! Those colours are brilliant! I love you in those colours!! Back in the 1970's we would wear those baseball tops all the time with knee socks with matching bands and Adidas gym shoes!! LOL I love the fact that this top is making a comeback! No matter what you do with your hair, you will always rock it! P.S...wigs are always fun in colours... Thank you again for sharing your make!! Love it!!! =":)
What beautiful colours I love a raglan and that one looks very well drafted. Thanks for sharing. xx
There is a trick to lock coverstiches off with out having to over lap or tie off. You need to raise the needles and the presser foot use your scissors to pull all the threads forward snip the loop then gently jerk the garment towards the back of the machine and it pulls through the threads to the back of the garment and locks them off. There are RUclips vids available if my explanation makes no sense lol :)
Fabulous! And now I want a coverlock... argh! 😁
Your T-shirt is nice.😊 I like
Watching you use the overlocker with the neckband was brilliant, I have just bought the same one!
Love the top and I know you are beautiful with your natural color. I'm so glad you have decided to do this - cannot wait to see it. Have a good week.
Love your Frankie! You've inspired me to use some leftover floral ponte and jersey sleeves!
Cute top! :) and yaaaay Gabbi is watching Drag Race 😀
Looks great Gabby
Nice top. I like your black hair. Now you will look like yourself. Great. Have fun sewing, later.
You are so colourful, I love it :) That top is lovely, I've seen another person make it but this particular take on the pattern has really inspired me to give it a go too. Thanks ☆
You are right! What's not to love! Hi from Colorado USA
Fantastic make! 😁
Love the sweater. I’ve got dark hair, and I’ve been dyeing it to cover the gray hairs, but now I’ve decided to stop and grow it out. I’ve got some purple clip in extensions (human hair) that I use sometimes when I need to feel a bit more colourful.
Well, this was perfectly timed for me! I plan on spending my birthday tomorrow just sewing (first day to myself in ages), and I picked out the Frankie Tee to make. You make it look so easy. This will be my first time using the coverstitch machine, too. If mine turns out half as lovely as yours, I'll be thrilled!
Loving your Frankie!! The colours are brilliant. I made my first one on Saturday (wearing it now!) and it won't be the last. Thanks for the close-up of your coverstitch machine, I wasn't exactly sure how they worked; and your camera is amazing, the video is so clear! Good luck with Freya. Lynne
I'm rocking my colored hair till the ends fall off. I'm not bleaching the roots at all. Just letting it ombre on me. Haha. Mich love. Great video.
Hi Gabby, love your Frankie Tee and thanks for the demo👍. I have just seen your hair on Instagram and it looks amazing and showed of your lovely brown eyes😉😊😘
Love your Frankie top! Was wondering at first why you were top stitching the sleeves in blue..:) Gabby, you are so lovely and colorful, I've no doubt you will continue to shine beautifully as a brunette.
Lovely make and I'm sure you'll make an even lovelier brunette
You'll look great au natural (?). Your bright personality doesn't need any help!
Fabulous top Gabby. Your machines seem brilliant items to work with I have been looking at the Pfaff. Redken so soft shampoo & conditioner will help you hair, a little bit more to pay but so worth the money I love the darker hair on Instagram
Looks lovely! Your hair on instagram is very pretty. I've recently gone from bleached white blonde to dark' natural' blonde. It's quite a shock to my system but the change in condition is great.
I see Miss Vaaaanjie in the background :D
That’s a great make, Ive now made 3 different ones. One with fox print from girl Charlie, then a red & navy one & finally a green palm print one. I’ve also just finished my bibi pinafore that I made in the coolest cobra corsage fabric, you can see it on my instagram, sewedbysara .
Your hair does look great but it’s how you feel about it not what everyone else thinks. You could just get some little hair extensions that are different colours & clip them in through your hair to still give you that flash of colour that might make you feel more ‘you’
Just found you . Can you do a video on the inserting the v in the Frankie tee shirt.
Super T. It fits you well. I am about to make the Frankie as a dress and wondered what the fit was like from the waist down as you wore yours tucked into the skirt. I made the Bibi skirt in a size 2 (great fit but will take the waist in a little next time) but the Freya top in a size 3 ( just the fit I wanted as I don't like negative ease) so I am dithering about which size to chose for the Frankie , 2 or 3 or 3 at the top and grade to 2 at the waist. Have you any sage advice?
Barbara gs hello! Actually I find longer tees really unflattering on me so I cut a good inch off the bottom and then it looked even worse so that’s why I tucked it in - as that’s how I wear all my tops anyway! I think there are loads of pics on Instagram with the tag #sewingfrankie with the bottom included and it would be a lovely dress- I would just elongate the sides to the length you want... ooh I might make a maxi dress version now you’ve inspired me!! Xoxox
Thank you for your response. I am afraid I didn't phrase my question very well. What I wanted to know is whether the T-shirt hugs the hips below the waist or if it is loose. I don't have access to instagram and I only found two images on the internet of people wearing a Frankie that they had made- one example looked very tight and the other loose! I wondered how you found the fit from the waist down. Good Luck in your Stretch pattern marathon.
You are wise re hair my sister like you dyed bleached her hair for many years it is now beyond repair sparse and very thin and she did have luscious curly pretty hair
FYI, I found to brush my hair 100 strokes every day really helped revive the luster in my hair.
Beautiful top. What brand and model over locker do you use.
I love your brunette hair but saw on IG that your very unhappy about it, although I don't think you've given yourself time to get used to it. Now I was wondering is there anyway that you could get a wig and maybe just pop it on when you are really missing your blue hair?? I think you look adorable with it and it's funny to me to hear you say that you find it difficult to get dressed because of it, huh, I've been brunette all my life never had an outfit clash with my hair. Hope you give your hair a break. BTW love the Frankie!!
I have a question in this book do u have to draw up the pattern for each item in the book.?
