To help design my Tabitha T-shirt dress, pick a fabric for me to use. Vote: Option 1: olive green scuba fabric Option 2: abstract jersey fabric Option 3: burgundy fabric Option 4: abstract scuba fabric Option 5: silver shimmery fabric Option 6: green animal print fabric Thanks in advance, Jx
Option #4!! 😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰 My eyes popped open as soon as you picked it up. My head was needing in agreement as you talked about how it caught your attention when you walked in the shop.
I forgot to say that I hate tracing but I do it so I can use the pattern multiple times. I use a huge roll (very wide) of tracing paper from the online shop for industry sewing supplies Morplan. It comes in about 50 metres and is very cost effective. It also means you can get really big pattern pieces out of it. I’m not sure it’s quite as see through as Swedish tracing paper though :-( Diana
Good review :) Tracing is a pain but I discovered this morning Tilly has a download the patterns link if you input your book ISBN. In A0 and A4 layouts. :)
Hi Juliet. My favourites are number 2 (paint splatters!) and the leopard print. I also like the plain olive scuba which might show off the design details better than a pattern? Can’t wait to see it finished! Diana
Number four scrubs fabric for the hack. I always use Swedish tracing and pencil but cannot stand doing it. Great review of book I must go and buy it now
Hi Juliet, I have never traced a pattern! I make photocopies of the pattern pieces. If it's a big pattern piece I copy the different areas and glue the pieces together. It's very simple. The just cut out the pattern pieces.
*Love" the shiny silver fabric! I think that could really elevate the Tabitha ❤️ Picking up my book tomorrow and can't wait. Easing myself back into Sewing with simple projects 😊
I’m watching this because I’m procrastinating tracing my patterns. I use the tracing paper, it’s also for sale on amazon as doctors office paper rolls.
Ooh such lovely choices of fabrics. Silver for a definite as Christmas approaches. A mix of olive and the red. And not forgeting the animal print has to be a must as well. I think the other two are just as nice but in my opinion they are spring and summer colours, I think it would be nice if you showed the paper patens from the book as I for one would like to see what they look like and how confusing it would be to trace them, xx
I like the abstract jersey fabric. You could do mix and match or just the neckband say and trimmings. I also like the shiny fabric but better in Autumn maybe. I like the olive leopard print but again going into summer the abstract jersey no 2. Id recommend this book too! 🤗 I may do this challenge with my goddaughter who bought the book when she saw mine.
JULIET UZOR yeah I heard the term on the Love to Sew podcast! I have a tall waist height table in my sewing space where I can lay out and cut standing up so I don’t have to lean over which maybe a reason why I don’t mind it so much 😁 x
Hello, I like two, however, I will only select one to make it easier for you. I thing you should go with the Green Leopard print. It's seems airy and fresh for spring yet the print is so striking!
Hi Juliet. Love the first and last fabric selections. Maybe you could do a combo of the two greens with colour blocking. Looking forward to your reveal video end March.
I hated it at first with the teaching wheel. I started teaching on [gift] tissue paper instead. That made it so much better. I just have having to tape pieces of the paper together for large pattern pieces. I'm going to check out the Swedish teaching paper you mentioned. Hopefully that will be big enough.
I don’t mind tracing too much. My sewing room window is a good big size and so I blue tac the pattern to the window and blue tac the plain paper over the top. Upsides of doing this are that you don’t have to bend over a table to reach and trace, the light shines through even quite thick paper so you don’t have to trace onto flimsy tissue paper (which I hate with a passion) and it’s much much quicker when you’re upright. No backache yay!!
Definitely option 4 for me, I think it would be brilliant. Also re the tracing of patterns, as already mentioned you can download them in PDF form, I’ve downloaded them all and am in the process of glueing them together.
Love Tilly and the Buttons, May order book. I was thinking the same with the abstract and wine, as the abstract looked like it has a bit of wine color in it, thinner fabric could be sleeves or even a frill detail. The silver fabric would look good as a blazer/jacket with a soft tie belt. I choose option 6 Green animal print. Brilliant video as usual. 👍🏾
I bought the stretch book when it came out but still haven't made any of the patterns. TBH I've migrated to those designers that include cup sizes. Tilly doesn't. Her patterns are focussed on B cup sized sewers which exclude many of us.
It's really hard to choose between these fabrics as they are all great but my vote is for the first olive green scuba. I can see it being quite a sophisticated version of the t-shirt dress, with metallic accessories maybe.
I don't mind tracing too much. I think Swiss tracing is the easiest but I use all sorts. I think the burgundy mixed with the abstract would look stunning. Maybe the burgundy on the top? The olive greens would look stunning for Autumn.
I’m a magpie....definitely up for the shiny option!!!! 😀 Also I hate tracing so much, I take the sheet to my local copy shop and print another. Between the two I cut my pattern out 🙈 How bad is that!!!!!
I enjoy tracing for the most part, but I have always used the method you use now. I would have torn out my hair with that old fashioned way with the tracing wheels and such. I use that paper Medical Doctors use to cover the exam table.. it is a bit narrower, but I haven't had issues with it not being wide enough, and tape works well should it become an issue. I find it to be less expensive than what I have available to me locally or online. I am likely too late for my vote to matter in the end, but I am smitten, strongly, to the first abstract. Eagerly waiting on my preorder in the States. :)
@@JulietUzor_ Another tip I hesitate to put out there but is super useful in some instances is to use clear plastic drop cloth, like you find in the paint supply. As long as you don't hang your patterns to store them, the plastic will stay in the same shape (no stretching). I don't like putting more plastics out there.. but, if you have some on hand or need a pattern to put up with a bit of abuse, that stuff is a bit of a miracle. :) This is the first video I have seen of yours and I am looking forward to viewing more. :)
I think I get used to Burda magazines, they have so much overlap in their patterns that tracing it the only option. But also I have 0 guarantees that my body won't change xD I've sized up in the last 5 years so it would be wise to save the original multisize patterns
Hi Juliet, I like the leopard, second choice the last abstract. I also use Swedish tracing paper, the good thing about it is you can sew it up as a toile. I will buy the book when it's available in Canada. Have fun with this pole. Val 🇨🇦🇬🇧❤️

JULIET UZOR Gorgeous fabrics, but option 4 and 6 are my favourites 😍 x
Option #4!! 😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰
My eyes popped open as soon as you picked it up. My head was needing in agreement as you talked about how it caught your attention when you walked in the shop.
Sewn on the Tyne hehe... I love them too 😁
miamomia1 it’s such a precious fabric as wel
Option 2! I do think they silver fabric should be made into a beautiful circle skirt. Can you imagine the movement!

When are you coming out with a book of your deigns Juliet? I would love to see you do that. I would buy it in a heartbeat!
LowCarbNiki ahhh... Niki. That’s super duper kind of you. 🙏🏽
Good review :)
Tracing is a pain but I discovered this morning Tilly has a download the patterns link if you input your book ISBN. In A0 and A4 layouts. :)
Amy Gathercole aha! Thanks 🙏🏽
Thanks!
That's awesome! Where do you get the link from?
I like tracing patterns because I make adjustments often.
Hi Juliet. My favourites are number 2 (paint splatters!) and the leopard print. I also like the plain olive scuba which might show off the design details better than a pattern? Can’t wait to see it finished! Diana
Now I’ve seen your list I think my favourite is the last one but the second one you showed
Love this review, so helpful! I loved the first abstract fabric, I thought the colours were gorgeous! Thanks Juliet x
I like the abstract prints #2 and #4. I'm using parchment paper for tracing (when I do).
I’ve also heard of parchment paper but mine isn’t as wide as I’d want it to be
Number four scrubs fabric for the hack. I always use Swedish tracing and pencil but cannot stand doing it. Great review of book I must go and buy it now
Lorraine Whiting awww... thanks for that... I like that fabric too 😁😁😁
Hi Juliet, I have never traced a pattern! I make photocopies of the pattern pieces. If it's a big pattern piece I copy the different areas and glue the pieces together. It's very simple. The just cut out the pattern pieces.
Fabric no. 6, the olive leopard print. Look forward to seeing your make whichever fabric it is. Sarah
I love the green leopard print
*Love" the shiny silver fabric! I think that could really elevate the Tabitha ❤️ Picking up my book tomorrow and can't wait. Easing myself back into Sewing with simple projects 😊
That’s the way... simple projects to start with and you can get fancy later
@@JulietUzor_ exactly! Don't want to lose the run of myself at first and then lose hope when it doesn't turn out right.
Carol Conway #truth !
📙💯

Rachel oooh... ok I see 😁
I think option 1, I love that olive green and would like to see it as a t-shirt dress!
I vote for the first abstract jersey, 3, , loved it. And if you wanted to color block with the red, go for it.
Hmmm 😍😍I like both the abstract jesery and the olive leopard fabric!! But the abstract fabric would be a really nice spring dress🍃
I'm loving that silver fabric😍
Awww... that one... it’s one of those fabrics I love so much that I can’t bring myself to cut into 🥰🥰

Hi Juliet, I too use the Swedish tracing paper. I'm obviously a hopeless Sewist: I've always traced in this way not with a wheel!
Superstar Communicator 🤣🤣 I’ve had to succumb to the use of the tracing paper rather than the wheel

Ruth Lanwarne oooh... that would make a fun challenge between you two
I hate tracing too! I’m going to get them printed which is a great option.😊
I’m one of the odd ones! 🙋♀️ I enjoy tracing patterns #teamtrace 🤣 my favourite fabric is the olive leopard print! X
Oooh... team trace! I like that hashtag. Do you trace them on a large table or on the floor?
JULIET UZOR yeah I heard the term on the Love to Sew podcast! I have a tall waist height table in my sewing space where I can lay out and cut standing up so I don’t have to lean over which maybe a reason why I don’t mind it so much 😁 x
Sewing Bunny that’s just the best... the waist height table. 🙏🏽
I as well hate tracing 😖. But I love option #4 of your fabric! Where did you get it if you remember
Ohhh... I actually got it from an east London market

Hya Juliet, I would pick either No 1 or No 6 or a mixture of both. I always trace with a pencil but haven't tried Swedish tracing paper yet.

Thanks so much. The silver fabric i feel like it hasn’t much body to be used as a blazer... I might be wrong

Ahhh... I see! I’ve only worked with one pattern that has cup sizes and it was a McCall’s pattern
I really like Tamlin's channel so looking forward to your collaboration. My vote is for fabric 2, with no.6 a good second option .
Ooooh.... I like those as well 😁

U r totally funny, I ❤️ ur humor. Also I love this book.
Oh thank you!
I just bought this book and I’m so excited to get started. I also HATE to trace patterns! Haha! This video was very helpful. Thank you.
I like option 1 the olive scuba looks very casual, and can be dressed up or down.Love the fabric! I also dont like tracing patterns!
marlene cabada 😁
I like the leopard print.
There are PDF downloads included! I believe there's a code inside the book to access them online! No tracing- yay!
Ohhh yay!!!!
6 is my fav, green and leopard print!! Both of my favourite things! 😁
Can’t wait to see what you both make ❤️
Button & Pip I thought of you when I added the fabric to the list as well

I'm releasing my book next week can you do a review on it?
Either of the abstracts with or without the burgundy or the animal print.. make all of them lol
Have you tried any of these patterns yet? This book looks amazing!
Yes I have lovely lady. I sewed up 5 Tabitha T-shirt dresses in one week. I also want to try out the pinafore dress
Option 2 or 6, however, they are all lush
The first pattern I sewed from the book was actually the pyjamas :D Next time I will try the Cardigan pattern, I believe.
It’s a lovely one to make- the Bertha cardi

Val Clements aww... thanks Val! I do hope you get in in Canada soon 😁
I have all 3 of Tilly’s books and this is my favourite. Because the garments are so wearable for everyday. I DO NOT like tracing 😫😤lol . xx
They really are wearable
Second one witH all the splashes of colour.

I don't like tracing but I also don't know how to make my own patterns.
I hope to do more tutorials on how to make your own patterns
@@JulietUzor_ That will be fantastic!!
You don't have to trace, you can download the PDF
Just wanted to check, do you get the patterns PDF when you buy on Amazon/elsewere or just direct from Tilly's shop? Many thanks, Sue.
I'm late to the party... I use trace and toile to copy the fabrics. If they are pdf I just print them at the copy shop!
Oooh..... I did trace mine in the end 😁
Ecstasy 😂😂
I would rather eat glass than trace a pattern. No thank you. Lol
