Thank you for the review and especially showing us the pictures. I really liked the Breton boat necked top too so am going to buy the book now! I think shirring is pronounced with an ‘e’ so sherring.

Very interesting, thank you. Juliet is fab. The book sounds a bit dress and skirt-heavy, and I don't often wear those, so may have to give it a skip. Though the Breton top looked nice.

Carol, to down load the Tilly and the Buttons patterns, you use the ISBN number to get the patterns. Could be the same for this book?

It is not same in this Ann, there is a specific page that it directs you to details of which are in the book 🙂

I made the classic shell top from Ep.1 of the last series today. I adored that top & was very happy to see it included in this book & I knew it would be the 1st thing I would make. I'm disappointed. Like you mention, the sizing isn't all that inclusive & I've had to made the penultimate size (in rtw I'm a 14/16 now depending on shop!!), when tracing the pattern pieces for it I discovered that the nested pattern pieces, that are supposed to be colour coded for ease of use, aren't all the same colour!! 😡 Also the instructions leave a lot to be desired. Best to go with your knowledge & gut instinct when constructing things because the line drawings don't always match what they've asked you to do and important instructions are split into different locations in the book!! Argh... I found it so infuriating this afternoon with the shell top. I will persevere because I adore the shirred dress & the cropped top & trousers (very similar to the pattern we talked about the other day, but without the really deep V! Hehehe) & want to wear both... I'd love to hear what you think after making the breton top though 😃

That is really disappointing to hear 😕. I haven’t actually tried to make anything from the book yet, so will definitely be interested to see how well I get on with their instructions. The Breton top is on my list, so we’ll see….thank you so much for highlighting your experience and sharing it here 😊❤️

@@StitchRipRepeat I'm really frustrated by the book (if you couldn't tell?! Hehe), I will persevere though... After last night's episode I really want to make the quilted jacket too now. It's really cute, the example in the book didn't really catch my imagination but seeing all the colorful scrap versions has changed my opinion & I really want one! Definitely very interested in your opinion after you've made one or two bits from the book, hope you're feeling better now too? x
