    Thank you Dave for the excellent information. I have a 2013 Jaguar XFs Diesel V6 3.0L Premium Luxury 202KW 275 BHP and tried this manual procedure and worked just perfect. Was I happy!!!!!! People like you make our life easier. God bless you.

    Nice one Dave, I find lately that electronics can be hit & miss. A reset or adaptation just doesn’t work , but eventually it works after the 2nd or 3rd attempt. Thanks for sharing 😉👍

    Wee bit of Scotland The Brave there on the pipes 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 We’ll be expecting pipe music on every video now! 😜(Useless trivia, one of the most successful pipe band champions in the world are from Lisburn, Field Marshal Montgomery pipe band) Always makes me twitchy when these EPB procedures don’t go to plan Dave. Not bricked a module yet but I believe it can happen. Best one yet was a Volvo XC60, there’s a mode accessed with the steering wheel buttons to wind back and reset the EPB, dead easy.

      i've heard the nissan quashqai's can brick the module, just need to watch your voltage. Yes, i think we invented the bagpipes or i may have made that up. lol cheers Russell

    Another good job done there Dave half expected Sandy To make a quest appearance on hearing those bagpipes. Interesting point you made about not putting any grease on the brake pad abutments I’ve worked at a few main dealerships in my time and as far as can remember never seen any grease on the brake pads from the factory.

      Yes Kevin, i think people go mad with the grease

    Great vid Dave... the discs looked a bit dodgy though, not your call to change. Customer driving a Jag but not willing to pay for new discs... something doesn't add up.

    Hi your video is excellent but I tried but it still says on my dash brake needs calibration tried starting all over again same thing even changed a faulty Actuator still the same

    The parking brake service mode instructions worked for 5 minutes, after a while the computer recalibrated and for whatever reason and 😢 it popped my rear caliper out.. now I'm having to replace both... Best advice is disconnect the hydro motor or battery. Expensive mistake 😅

    Nice job Dave. Frustrating the customer didn't want the discs done too? Did the same job on my A4 Allroad, but did a brake rebuild all round including caliper seals, which meant dismantling the electronic parking brake. VCDS and multiple brake bleeds and job is good un!

    can those brake motors be wound back with a 12v supply from something like a power probe and operate the handbrake manually to set the piston.

    • @andrewbancroft6174
      @andrewbancroft6174 2 года назад

      Possibly, but the module light lay an egg.
      Changed the rear pads on a xe not so long ago found it could be put into service mode and wound back without a scan tool the procedures on the internet, timing is critical when carrying it out though.

  • @skunkjobb

    I think electric parking brakes is a thing of evil and the worst invention in car history. Anyway it's great that Jaguar seems to have attempted to make it possible to retract the brakes without a computer. I hope it will work for me,
