There are no words to describe how amazing the work and innovation The Ocean Cleanup is bringing to the world. Been following you guys since the start and am always waiting anxiously for the next video update. If you don't get the Green Nobel Prize one day, I don't know who can..
Well said!!! Me too. I think the clean up crew should get the Nobel Prize!
For sure!!
So it looks like they manage to get an extraction every 4 or 5 days. I'd love to hear about the problems they are finding while testing the systems and how they are trying to solve them for future systems and "missions". Great job everybody!
Thank you, I was just wondering how frequent their extractions were...
The time between extractions depends on the density of plastics in the water, the more plastic there is the shorter the time between extractions.
in one of their recent videos where they were explaining the new system, they covered some of the issues they faced with the original system.
Can't wait to follow these check ins well into the next many years and see all the progress.
Me too but first we need to stop throwing trash into our waterways.
These people from The Ocean Cleanup are doing amazing work for the planet! There are alot of people busy with destroying the planet like they do with war.
Just imagine a fleet of these tugs and nets cleaning up our seas, one day 😍 I’d love to work for you
Just imagine humanity living in better conditions, and not polluting our rivers and oceans just because we become better people
@@KyleB_RCR8 Remember that when you don't recycle and you throw your trash on the street big mouth. I see a lot of masks lying on the ground during covid because you idiots couldn't find trash barrels. Were not better people we abused the planet and all the life on it. I'm not sure what reality you live in
Yeh thats a good cause to work for. How does one apply to work with them? There must be a link in the description section of this video.
And how long can we stay on for? What's the living conditions on those ships? Are ok with slight health problems that can be managed with health diet?
I was just thinking the same thing. I was picturing that, trying to figure out how the fleet would roll this out. 👍🏾
Seeing all this plastic extracted from our ocean fills me with a white hot rage. I’m so grateful that all these smart people are working to improve this situation.
This is one of the Best non profit orginisations that i know of! Keep on doing the the great work😎
I would be interested if plastic waste identification was being combined with mitigation efforts...It seems like for instance those particular laundry type baskets are appearing quite regularly in these extractions. Hopefully, items could be identified as to likely origin and means of ending up in the ocean. Then efforts could be made to improve preventing these items that are frequently appearing in our oceans from getting there in the first place. Maybe present a top 10 items list...Pressure could be applied to governments as well as the plastic manufacturers themselves to help with plastic removal and mitigation efforts...Keep up the great work!
thats already happening thats how they chose the rivers were they install Interceptor
there are also other projects that try to analyze where the garbage comes from and try to stop the sources
Almost no words for the Oceancleaners . GREAT ! SPECTACULAR! HERO S! SAVING LIFE ON EARTH ! SAVING LIFE IN THE OCEANS! ✅🌿🌏✅🌿🌍✅🌿🌎✅🌿🌎✅
May your efforts be magnified 100 fold! God bless and awesome work
Seeing real change for our oceans thanks to these hardworking professionals 😊
Keep up the amazing work, people all over the world need to start funding this so it can grow and become a mega cleanup operation all over the planet👍🇬🇧
No words on how of an amazing job you guys are achieving. Thank you for all involved and helped and still helping for the project.
Impressive project
5:58 love how to see that our need to play with round things never stop xD It's like when you are sorting through old stuff and find a ball.
Amazing work, great video! That sunset scene is stunning. Thank you.
Thank you for the work you do.
It’s heartbreaking how dirty our beautiful ocean is. So proud of your company.
It’s amazing and awful the amount of plastic in the 69 captures of plastic you have already pulled from the pacific garbage patch. Way to go!!
Ocean Cleanup is one of the greatest companies of the 21st century and you deserve all the awards for your work!
I’ll keep saying this. Most of the plastics caught is from the fishing industry. So while it may be hard to find solutions for consumer plastic I would say that the fishing industry will be much easier to regulate once we focus all our effort on inventing cheap biodegradable fishing gears
Or better yet, move away from consuming fish all together. We're decimating the ocean's biomes. The oceans are our main source of oxygen. We should leave these systems alone.
@@karmicbreath Exactly!!!!!!!!
Its incredible the amount of plastic the pacific ocean has ...
You can be sure it’s not just the pacific

Unfortunaley isn't the only one
When the first system was being prepared in San Francisco, CA I remember reading an article. Several environmental organizations were saying that it was not enough, it was not focusing on the right problem, they should do something else, this young man is deluded, etc. The rebuttal was pretty strong. The Ocean Cleanup was willing to tackle one aspect of the problem that is a massive, all hands on deck catastrophe that is only going to get worse otherwise. Other people are choosing to work on twenty different parts of the problem and it is all desperately needed. Prince William is helping with his Earthshot program and Sorted Foods on RUclips continuously talks about sustainability in farming practices and fishing, along with products that can take the place of plastic. It is all wonderfully encouraging and inspiring to show that small changes can add up to a tidal wave of progress. Best of wishes to all involved.
Love you guys and the work you do. Thank you
What a sweet sound! The noise of the plastics spilling onto the deck is music to my ears. Bravo!
What dedication & commitment Kudos! Saving the planet for future generations. Respect.
Love to see some livestreams of colleting plastic on the river collectors.
Thank you for doing the updated videos, thank everyone who participates in this. Please keep making updated videos.
God bless all of you for the amazing work you are doing. Thank you seems inadequate...it is huge what you're doing all over the world.
Thank you
Thank you, thank you, thank you Team! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Amazing work, I can't thank you enough. I'm sure all the flooding some of the countries are having can't be helping the situation.
These are probably the only videos where I always say: More, more, I want to see more. 😊
You are fantastic! Let this be the beginning of cleaning up our planet!
I live around Vancouver and I love checking the map and looking out for the system when they come to offload. Amazing work guys! Wish I could help out more.
The trash goes to Vancouver? Interesting. Do you have big recycling industries there?
THIS IS AN AMAZING FEAT FOR OUR PLANET!!! PLEASE MAXIMIZE YOUR EFFOTS AND DEPLOY AT LEAST 2 OR MORE OF THE SYSTEM 002'S!! DO IT MAN!!!
Makes me sad to see all that but I'm thankful for you guys .
Looks like it is going well out there. Safe travels
Than you for your dedication and hard work!!!
Keep up the good work! Glad someone‘s cleaning up the environment, rather than just talking, pointing fingers, and spending money to make sure we‘re spending money!
A great cause with excellent cinematography thrown in!
Keeps getting better and better.
The first shot is beautiful ❤️
Keep up the good work! 💪💪
Really great job! I love what all of you are doing within the ocean clean up ❤! Thank you so much!
Fantastic service well done 😊😊
Love to see the progress! Keep up the amazing work!
Truly wonderful to see someone had enough and decided to do something. This should be in every country to help us control what ends up in nature. Great work. Keep it up. Make me want to do more and my little art!
God bless you guys , you are doing an amazing service to humanity!!! But you need more people to be involved in this magnificent project.
Thank you so much. We are grabagepickers in ecery scosiety we live in. And people pick us up and copy what we do. I see a lot of people pick garbage in several countries theese days and I can gladely tell you that in big parts of the countryside in Europa is much cleaner now. Bless you all.
Not enough footage of plastic being dumped from netting. Genuinely satisfying, would want a close up.
Keep up the amazing work.
Éste video DEVERIA tener millones de visitas, la gente tenemos que estar conscientes del inmenso daño del plástico en el mar great work! ❤
Thank you, and may God bless and protect all of you in your efforts! 😊
So damn cool. Thank you for the hard work and for sharing with us in these videos.
I think itd be impactful if you added time elapsed or maybe a map highlighting the area cleaned relative to the size of the ocean right before dumping the contents of the net to better illustrate the severity of the pollution
The area covered wouldn't even be visible on a map.
@@UCCLdIk6R5ECGtaGm7oqO-TQ exactly, a pan out from the cleaning operation to the scale of the ocean alongside the dumping of the nets contents would be a really powerful visual. literally a drop in the ocean
This is absolutely wonderful to see, and I can only imagine how satisfying it is to see all that stuff been dumped onto the deck and knowing it is being removed from the ocean. Sure, I am sure it gets very repetitive eventually, and I’m betting it’ll be even more in the future for the people who have to sift through this shit, but I just hope everyone knows that they are 100% contributing to a better future here and we all appreciate them for this. Hope the ocean cleanup can expand even more to multiple nets and crews out at a time.
I had the oportunity to work here in Vancouver,Canada..is just amazing!
Congratulations to the entire OceanCleanup crew!!! 🌎 Good work! Thank you.
I cannot imagine why Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Unilever, nestle and Procter gamble have not yet sponsored more vessels to the fleet. UN should require them to give 1% of annual profit to global cleanup
Because that would be admitting they are part of the problem?!
(The Pacific Garbage Patch has a lot of fishing gear, but the river cleanups definitely show a huge proportion of bottles and household items.)
You folks are amazing and doing fantastic work. God bless and thank you.
Gr8 work - retired electronics professor willing to help with any engineering issues..
Thank you so much for your service to our home and our future.
Thank you so much for all you do. Much love and all the best to ye!
I love the work you do. I hope one day that the vessels are powered by green energy.
Hopeful video.. Thank you so much..
good slowly we learn, to repair our mess, love Thanks for the work.
Whoever did the color grading on this, you did a great job.
Have been watching your videos for sometime, and wanted to express my gratitude for the work you guys are doing... also wanted to let you know that when you show the underwater shots of the net you can see small piecses plastic escaping from the net... ever think to add a second smaller size netting to the outside of the big net to catch the smaller piecses...
My jaw always drops when I see the huge amount of plastic
hey you all!!! wow thanks for all that!!! but please show us more more more videos!!!!!!!!! thousands of thanks
So proud of you guys !!!
Love the progress. Cant wait for the sorting of the plastic too be more efficient as Well.
Thanks for all your work!
OMG. Tats so amazing. Can’t believe such an amazing work but such little exposure. I hope u guys get the exposure u deserve.
Incredible job you are doing
What an amazing team. Great work. You are making me proud. I'm half Dutch so, I'm really very happy about the progress. 😍
Great job. Thank you.
Please keep up the good work and grateful thanks.
It is pretty satisfying, I must admit ☺
Thank you for your great work 🙏
Great to see your progress.
Fantastic work! ❤
While it is disturbing seeing the quantity of garbage that is in the ocean, I am so grateful that people are actively working on reducing the quantity. Seeing the previous video of the efforts to capture the trash before it hits the ocean in Guatemala is hard to watch. The amount of garbage being thrown into their waterways is unfathomable to me.
Thank you for all the great work 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
BRAVO OCEAN CLEANUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🥰
Thank You for what you do
Thanks Oc. 😃👍
Keep up the good work
