Description below
Dear Viewer,
A few words about us and our vision we try to become reality with your help:
Plastic Fischer was founded by three friends from Cologne, Germany, after we witnessed the plastic pollution through rivers in Vietnam in December 2018.
Realizing first-hand how much waste is entering the oceans around the clock was the moment we decided to take action ourselves.
Locally built solutions. No high-tech. No priority on a fancy design.
Impact before everything.
Without detailed knowledge about rivers or the waste economy, but highly motivated to find a solution for a global issue within a developing country, Karsten and Moritz flew to Indonesia in June last year.
Our starting point was the most polluted rivers of the world: The Citarum River, in Bandung, West Java.
Moritz invented the TrashBoom. A simple, low-cost, but extremely effective swimming barrier to stop the vast majority of waste floating in the river.
They are not just a concept. They work! For the water and every creature on this planet!
While capturing a lot of plastic, we understood that by collecting waste from the rivers we are fighting symptoms, caused by a lack of education.
Do you remember? Not too long ago, maybe five years back, just a few people questioned the use of the plastic shopping bag. But somehow, we have been educated because someone told us: Use a reusable bag or mask. Avoid the plastic straw.
That needs to happen in Indonesia, the world's second-biggest pollutant.
A beautiful country with the most friendly people you will meet.
Allow us to deploy more TrashBoom systems and host plastic workshops for the community.
With this campaign, we want to establish our idea of making a change in Indonesia
Thank you for helping and caring, so that your kids and grandkids will have those beautiful oceans to swim in as we had as a kid.
Karsten, Moritz and Georg ♥

Awesome! We must fight plastic pollution!! 🔥
You guys need to get in touch with Sungai Watch in Bali and also The Ocean Cleanup and swap ideas and methods of cleaning the rivers. You're all doing the same thing and can swap ideas and methods. Thank you for cleaning up one of the worst polluting rivers in the world and educating the people.
Thank you for your comment! We actually set up the first TrashBoom in Bali which led to the founding of Sungai Watch by Gary. You can see that history when you browse to 2019 on our IG channel. We are always open for collaboration but unfortunately, most of the organizations out there prefer fighting alone.
just a wbs watcher passing by o/
same here.
As a native Inuit, I observe a common issue across various regions like Africa, India, and South America-there's a tendency for people to wait for others to address environmental problems. Simple actions can make a significant difference. With just a bag and some spare time, anyone can help clean up their surroundings. It's crucial to take responsibility for our environment before the problems become unmanageable.
Great work!
