Heartbreak for Matt...get that man some teammates!
He just needs better strategy
No matter how many times I see a race finish it amazes me just how long the last 250m is and what can change in that time.
Kudos to the rider in blue at about 4:46 who warns his fellow riders about the guy leaning into the car.
Wow, incredible finish. Looking at the position 250m before finish I could not believe that it's possible.
Me too! That makes his patience strategy even more important now
Matt is a beast!!
NorCal classic finish and can't get enough how excellent it is ❤️🔥
Classic case of patience and perfect timing. Well done!
That was luck. Right place right time
I didn’t see the 41mph like the thumbnail…maybe I missed it.
That was epic, well earned win.
40 mph, not 41. Click bait 😂
We've quite possibly been bamboozeled :0
😂😂😂
Absolutely perfect timing for the sprint. Nice one Jeff keep it up man.
Incredible! That kind of patience at the end is admirable.
Immovable object Matt, meets irresistible force Jeff.
Huge sprint! Very intelligent riding, wow!
Amazing as always!
Hi Jeff, great video. I sold my bike in 2021 to get myself together for my family so I haven't watched in a couple years, but I started training indoors again and got bored listening to music so I figured I'd check you out. The videos are excellent quality as always, the commentary is even better, and I'm happy to see you're getting endorsement deals too. Top notch quality, glad to see you're doing well and winning races!!
Strong sprint, well done.
matt is so strong but jeff you are so good at timing + managing where you use those matches
the timing tho is inpacable just wow, at the end i was literally screaming "you need to go right now "
but as you pointed out it was actually too early "another alviso in the bag" chef's kiss 🤣🤣
Noob question ... why is it too early? What happens if you go too early?
@@ericvutran4140 I've never raced, but the way I understand racing is that if you start your sprint too early, two bad things can happen.
One: You will most likely give another rider enough time to react then latch onto your back wheel, ride your draft , and pass you at the line. Waiting until very late eliminates their ability to see you and and react before the line comes up. It's an effective sneak attack method.
Two: You may run out of power and slow down on an early, and therefore longer, sprint. Then before you cross the line, anybody that has reacted from your early sprint and is now drafting you, will come around you, pass and win the race.
If you have super massive power, you might be able to start your sprint early, and go fast enough that nobody can ever catch your draft.
However, if the racers are even in ability, good strategy always beats power. In fact, even when you have less power that the other racers, effective strategy can allow you to beat a more powerful rider.
Keep watching NorCal, he's taught me every thing I know.🙂
@@5speed735i thanks man. mind currently blown.
that was insane, im relatively new to cycling and this hyped me up! amazing!!!!
Incredible timing
Damn, i didn't know which way that one was gonna go!! Awesome stuff as ever.
incredible race!
That's a clean finish. Nice one
Wow impressive. I'd like to see a drone shot of that finish.
Love the the lead car on the last lap!😂
well done! and yes.. sometimes you get lucky! 🍀
8:22 There's a good example of how snapping the elastic plays out. Grey shirt teal bike sees Matt go, chases for 3 seconds and then nope!
You can see just a few seconds prior in the rear camera that the rider on Matt's wheel gets out of the saddle as if to follow and when it switches back to the front camera he's already given up.
That sprint goes craaazzzy
Matt is way tooo strong.
That was definitely about knowing your opponent very well. You knew that you needed only 250m to close a 5sec gap on Matt. Great finish !
As a big slow twitch fella with a lot of power but no sprint I was rooting for Matt!!
I love to watch your videos, I'm never race in any race, can you explain or do you have already video explaining about rules on the open road during this type of races? it's very dangerous to me but completely don't have idea how these rules on road works, Thanks
What a finish
You are a beast Jeff
Just another beautiful W
It just hit me,- Matt is one the guys in All black in an older video, flying with you behind him and waving you off COOL AS F@#K with the palm of his hand like, there you go buddy, he's an animal..💪🏾👏🏾
Nice one!!!.
Brilliant 👌
The most shocking thing I've heard in all of these Alviso videos is that this at noon on a Tuesday!
snatched that win from timmy and matt haha
Some quick questions for you Jeff. Just before you start your sprint and you are pushing 600W what cadence are you at? Then, upon engaging your sprint, do you shift gears to achieve your ideal sprint cadence or simply ramp it up in your current gear? In this particular Alviso you had a two-part sprint. In between your first and second 8-second sprint, I'm assuming you shifted gears to once again find your idea sprinting cadence? Cheers.
cadence is in the bottom right hand corner, sometimes i shift depends on the lead-in to the sprint
@@NorCalCycling Cheers!
Personally i start at 85 to 95 rpm then peaking to 120-130
Good win Jeff, especially after doing all that work to chase Matt down!
Strong 💪
Beast 🔥
Like a hot knife through butter 💪
All that effort but the traktor takes the win!
SO EFFING LUCKY!!! OMG!!
wow. the patience! so so good. won with 65m to spare
Caught out in the front with nobody left willing to chase, punches/separates it in the tailwind in a last ditch effort to catch Matt at the line(I do), only to get passed instead by fresh Jeff at the line.… Jeff too OP out there.
Damn!!!!
I thought that was impossible
Oh man to watch the train pull up behind you to “help” chase only to watch them not pull through.
Smashed it
I tried the ketone-IQ and either it works or it's the best placebo I've ever used.
Yo Jeff will you be reviewing the redlandclassic ?
What program are you using for your power and numbers overlays?
You killed me with the "Sunken eye look that I have", 😂😭- You are a beast on the bike, brother. And your pupil is just an animal. Pure raw talent, cool kid. I started riding old(33), 5yrs ago and at 320lbs/6,2"(250lbs today). finding your channel has added so much motivation. from Miami FL, 🔥💥👏🏾💪🏾✌🏾👍🏾👊🏾🙏🏾🇵🇷
Matt on that Ferrari strat
So this training race is held every Tuesday at noon ? How is anyone around at noon on Tuesday. Do people work ? Go to school ?
You love to see it
awesome
Jesus that top speed was craazy you passed them like they’re going backwards
Even dusted the 'Deere. -U10
the Alviso Sniper claims another victim!
Tuesdays at noon. For the rich folks who don’t need to go to work
❤️
insane
#DamnJeff!
Wait... You guys do these on Tuesdays at noon? I always assumed it was Sundays at 8:00am due to the lack of traffic.
How is Matt not on a team?? Someone sign that dude up.
He’s on Alto Velo.
only in California is a group ride referred to as a "race"
I thought we talked about Monday morning video releases Jeff.. 😉 publish Sunday evening I bet you get twice as many views
sm1 has to put Matt on a leash 😂 im the same type of Rider but dang hes on a another lvl
I can barely get my old a** to 34 MPH with a nice tail wind.. 😬.. 😁
Every Tuesday at noon? Y’all don’t have work?
Matt's not even in an aero position...😱
Wheres ej??
Maybe he has a job or goes to school
THAT WAS CLASSIC...gotta pin this video for the most textbook sprint.
those cars ever an issue??
no
Whats your max heart rate?
guy with the new madone is strong sheesh. but negative points for having the new madone, its less aero then the old models lmao
#Roshi
Hindsight is 20-20…/s
Casual "by the way I normalized 380W" lol
I feel so cheated. The thumbnail said 41mph and you only hit 40. 😆🤣😆🤣
I'm kinda mad at you now for beating Matt.
Love your channel, but the recent addition of annoying advertising breaks...really?
Sorry but I want to keep it free and also pay my editor a fair wage.
first !
