Dang, all this construction. I would have just cancelled it this week.
This wasnt safe with that much construction, nsxt time just cancel it that week. Stay safe guys 🙏
Crits ≠ safe
@@turtleshatz It's an acceptable amount of risk for all the contestants, they get to choose. The construction workers don't. And getting blindsided by five grown men at 40k/h will absolutely land you in the hospital, so the risk is real.
@@TheXtrafresh Still rather get hit by a troupe of cyclists than a car, and the road was still open to cars. As long as the racers aren't racing within the coned-off areas, I'd argue that the construction workers weren't in any more danger than they would have been otherwise.
@@turtleshatz are you a racer? The reason that racing isn't done just anywhere is specifically so you can responsibly take risks. And while this is a weekly training crit, and not the Tour, a race is a race, and people WILL take risks. You can see a big attack leave through the coned area in the first minutes.
i can totally understand the desire to get away sooner rather than later. The road conditions make a HUGE difference for racing and riding.
Nice very exciting last km! Avoiding the counterattack in that last lap was brilliant.
Most of times I've gone out back in 13'-14', it was almost always under some type of construction or pothole heaven😅. I raced on Alto Velo back then and would frequently do Noon Ride and Spectrum. Good times.
Amazing timing and what a speed!
Surprised you guys went ahead with the crit with workmen wondering on the course. The best way to get it closed down.
I'm just wondering how they even got people to work on the roads. Here in Kansas we going backwards. more gravel, less pavement because they can't pay workers enough so there are none
It's crazy how you guys in US race in open traffic xD
9:39 anticipated the bump/bonk w/ Paul :D... was fun full sending to the line as well.
As I was scrolling your avatar looked like an eyelash on my screen and I tried to blow it away lmao... love it!
@@adamweb only works against light mode users unfortunately
Glad to hear this. Your type of anticipation is what helps to make a potentially sketchy moment into a nothing.
As always an awesome video!
hey love watching your videos im a young rider 14 years old been riding 2 times a day 2 hours each ride. keep on making these vids your really expiring :]
Please don't look at this sketchy nonsense as something to emulate. These guys may be strong, but what they're doing on open roads is completely idiotic. It's not cool. They're a fatality waiting to happen.
Brilliant execution. Sketchy course.
hey! can you tell something about the handlebar with flare, how does it feel?
Niceee workkk
NorCal Cycling, is it best to slam your bars and get in the most aggressive position for crit racing?
Sucks what happened with the Scott Foil RC...are you planning on getting another Scott Foil? Also, did you have bike insurance?
Great timing. Just finished folding the clothes 😅
This camera view is good
um... elbows on the race ride??!!
"Sprinty boy" 🙂
Yeah new alviso video!!!
New Road! Nice 😀😀😀😀 I've been sending requests for years now and finally... LMAO!! J/K
Construction zone attack=feed zone attack!
32 mm tires???
he is climber or sprinter ?
That seemed like unnecessary contact by Timmy. He leaned his upper body way over to the left. It's not so easy to tell from the video, maybe the other guy drifted a bit to the right as he was trying to stay on the pink jersey's wheel. Would be interested to hear your take on that contact?
It all just comes down to starting your sprint with 100m's to go
HOW DO YOU PEDAL?
Round and round, round and round
I wish I could avg 40+ kph :(
Great video as usual. I'm wondering, could you have stayed back with the group the whole time instead of chasing those fake breakaways?
the trick is determining which ones are 'fake' and which ones are a serious threat.
Stages promo code does not appear to be working
Lost me when the commercials interrupt the experience.
Lol those of you who are crying about the cones and construction workers are something else. Jeff is responsible for entertainment, not responsible for your feelings or anyone elses.
Another “W”. Not as polished as usual. Quite a bit of not properly in the draft, and a few times you seemed to be on the front for no reason. I’m preaching your own lessons back to you 😆.
Another great video! Always great to watch
Too much sprinting on the hoods in this video! Not just you either.
Normally I love your videos Jeff - but you all can, and should have moved this Alviso to another date. Its already bad enough you just do these practice races on un-closed roads with normal traffic around. All those road workers already have enough of a dangerous and difficult job to do. Your bicycles flying past at 20+ MPH and weaving in and out of the cones to make your passes is just plain rude, and dangerous. You have a responsibility to promote safe and fun cycling for all because you reach so many. And this isn't it man. Do better.
Ditto. This was sketchy to watch
It's all fun until some sketch pilot kills someone on this course. Irresponsible and not even remotely a good role model. If my kids ever show an interest in the sport, reckless trash like this ride is in the 'don't be this guy' pile.
@@highfieldshed763RUclips moment
Yeah I agree, no need for this I wouldn’t feel too comfy working while people race and come close. You should slow down when passing these people like we want cars to slow for us.
For crissake…the comments here reek of your typical California safetyism gone off the deep end. These are P 1 2 riders who have all ridden this course hundreds of times and could probably ride it in their sleep. No one is being disrespectful or rude to the work crew. They all know and recognize the road hazards on this day. Another great video Jeff 👍
As a nyc rider, love to see it. Race in the conditions set forth. I assume people were safe around people and after the 2nd lap I bet they figured out you guys were racing. No harm no foul.
I NEED TO KNOW
Not watched beyond the first 30 secs and thumbs down. Not a good representation of the sport.
Agreed 💯
