I had the fans nearly constantly noisy on my Lenovo Ideapad 5 Pro 16 and sometimes fans running full blast without any good reason.
    CPU AMD Ryzen7 5800H with integrated Radeon graphics / RAM 16 Gb / SSD 512 Gb / Windows 10
I’ve now managed to get laptop most often 100% quiet by changing the following:
    In Advanced Power settings:
1/ Processor power management / Max processor state: reduce gradually to 99, 95, 90, 85%, etc. I’m currently on 80%
2/ Cooling policy: set to Passive (instead of Active).
3/ I have not currently changed the Boost option in the Power options.
My laptop is now finally 100% quiet most of the time instead of the opposite.

I usually don't make comments like this but I had to, because of how good this review was. No bullshit, straight to the point, I love how he said a lot of things and it all meant something too, unlike some other people who say a lot but it doesn't really amount to much, and it was more than just saying the specs of the laptop which is something I could've read myself, it was stating things that I wouldn't have known that actually matter, and I appreciate that. Keep making videos dude, you're doing something right. Thank you for your help too btw.

Great review, I am needing to upgrade my work laptop. Currently I use a surface pro and was going to upgrade to a Surface laptop 5. I love how thin, light and premium the surface laptop looks. But after finding this Slim pro 7, I am having second thoughts. In addition to every day office work I do graphic design and photo editing. I am not very familiar with AMD Ryzen processors, but it seems to preform well in this laptop. I also had spec-ed out 32 GB of ram in my Surface laptop but the 16 GB here should do the job. I also was looking at the Slim Pro 9i. It has a 16" screen and very similar specs to the 7 (but the 9i has 32GB or RAM). The 9i is documented as having some thermal issues and much lower battery time however, in order to run the additional specs. Before today I was pretty sure I was getting a surface laptop 5, but now I am a little confused after finding the Slim pro 7 ( and 9i). You seem to be a big fan of this 7 model. Would you rank it above the surface laptop 5. In Canada I can get the 7 for around $1900 and the 9i for $2900, the Surface is similar at $3000. I would really appreciate your advice.

I just bought it with matte screen. It is really nice model...but the fan is midly running all the time, starts in about half minute after power-up. It reminds me the sound of classic HDD. It is the same in idle doing nothing, web browsing, YT watching etc. It is only slightly increasing with mild tasks, but it does quite a lot with heavy loads (as expected). I tried to get rid of the low load fan noise: updated BIOS, drivers, limited max CPU clock down to 50%, experimented with Lenovo fan modes and Windows power/battery modes. My CPU temperature in Idle is around 38-40°C (quite low for fan to continue running IMO). Nothing helped...it looks like it is inherent to the laptop design and how Lenovo controls fan here. Looks like there is no solution. So I will probably return it. I wouldn't buy it if I knew it cannot do anything without fan being on.

Unfortunately, the 32GB RAM model is only available in China.

@@TechGuyBeau interesting, what ram would you recommend getting so i don't bottle neck the pre existing (pre installed) 16gig ram

@@TechGuyBeau You mention it yourself at 11:56 that the RAM is soldered and that there is no upgradeablity. It is also mentioned in every other review (e.g Notebookcheck's "The RAM size (LPDDR5-5200) is either 16 or 32 GB, but the user does not have the option of expanding the RAM here.") and on Lenovo's website.

      @@Antonis24 oh I’m sorry dude.
I was replying to two different people on different videos
Yes you are 100% correct fully soldered
I would be hesitant to buy 16gb on this model. Might be worth waiting for 32
