Tho I owned laptops all my life and now have a pc, I know close to NOTHING about specs other than Intel CPU good, Rtx good, I genuinely can't think of anything else. I always have to ask my brother or pc friends for help in anything 😭
@KrisandTodorandIck you didnt get it My point was that most of channels now take 50% of their video for advertising, bullshitting, talking about their channel and not actually presenting the topic they had planned to present
@CODEC6_prod Oh ye but some of the stuff he mentions aren't really correct like the types of CPUs there are much more than 5 and also the GPU isnt the most importmant part
@KrisandTodorandIck well that video is made for complete beginners not something that a intermediate level person would need I don’t have any knowledge about laptops so if you have a video/site to recommend I’d be grateful
definitely me, bought an Asus TUF Gaming F15 yesterday hahah I already have a PC at home, bought the components in 2015 and still great tbh even if it has only a 1050ti in it... Why i bought the laptop then? because it would be good to have for work, im a photographer and graphyc designer and being able to edit photos or videos during coffe break is soooo nice. The laptop i got has an RTX 4060, intel i7 13th gen, 16gb RAM and 1tb SSD, obviously imma use it even for gaming, im still testing it, not sure if done the right thing yet but feels good so far.
I have never seen someone explaining laptops in this manner and I have been in IT for 35 years. Sir, you are the master on the domain of explaining laptops. I don’t think that there is anyone in a computer store that has the level of knowledge on the subject that you have! Great presentation, great teacher!
Its so basic information that even a 7 year old knows this by birth. But the problem is that ranks his sponsors in every rank and file better than AMD which gives false info of their relative performance. Granted the 4090 is the best card in laptops that you can get but he lists all top 7 as nvidia and then starts from the best that AMD can offer which is plain stupid.
I already understood all of these specs and terminologies but this video is a top tier. Precise info, straight forward. Even a person that doesn't have any idea can catch up right away. Good job sir
@LilEffTeeWow - Really...I don't see any unique info. it's generic and paper thin...Like "Make sure you get a laptop with a keyboard" type of explanation.
I'm a student that doesn't know anything about laptops and I'm gonna buy a gaming laptop tomorrow with my parents thank you so much for this video, i also added the important stuff in my notes if i forget anything and God bless you
This gentleman is very wise; most computer heads, geeks, and tech nerds, are not so knowledgeable about details like these when purchasing or buying a new system 💯💯💯💯
I worked for a game company and I am an 'IT enthusiast' for many years now. Your video is amazing! Explanation on point, you don't use too much jargon and you can easily help people decide. Great job man. Also the 'faceless' videos make it great for anti-discrimination, politics and etc. People can't judge you based on your 'anonymous' outfit now. Amazingly done and well played 🙂
Can u put some light about ur career at gaming company. I am noob gamedev learning to become expert in the field but game development career seems too niche and hard to go into?
@NoThing-ec9km I worked in the Customer Service part of the company, I can't help you with your request as we didn't develop any games. Only build PCs, recommending prebuilds and other :-) Good luck!
As a game dev, he kinda downplayed the importance of CPU on a gaming machine. If the game is very CPU-bound, a low performing CPU can reduce the FPS significantly
you can tell where the poster is from given the language displayed under the google search, and the spoken grammar. but most people will not look that closely.
Wow, I am so glad I found your video before buying a laptop literally. Thank you so much for taking the time to educate us, that is better than just recommending a device!
I know this video is several months old, but still I wanted to thank you. I used all your tips yesterday and bought a new laptop. Been 8 years since I got a new one and that may as well be a lifetime these days. Your information was invaluable to me. Note: I also got a great deal! So thanks for this video.
I was watching this without being loged in to my RUclips acc. Literally loged in just for me to throw a like here because of how useful, helpful and well made this video is. Mind you, I do not really have a habit of liking videos, let alone loging in just to throw a like. Good job, and thanks for this very useful tips!
I am so glad I found this video!! I am an older lady and my husband was the brains when it came to our electronics and this is the first time I have had to purchase a laptop myself. Your video was so well organized, informative and easy to understand I feel quite confident I can now shop and get the "right" laptop for me!! I am excited to see what other videos you have made and to learn more from you as you teach in a way that those of us with little to no experience can easily understand. Thank you for the best laptop video I have ever come across on youtube!!
@providingvalue I bought a gaming laptop for $1275 after tax. Lenovo Legion 5i with Intel Ultra 7 255HX, RTX 5060, 32 GB of RAM. I think for the price, it is a very good deal. Storage space can be increased later on by yourself but it starts at 512 GB
2:27 Very true, will never forget how I got gaslit into getting a laptop because I could take it anywhere... I never took it anywhere outside of the house, and 2 years later I bought a desktop that's better than the laptop for the same price... 👀
I saw this video on my explore page before I even bought a laptop and saved it to watch later just to end up watching it right after getting a laptop 😂
This is a *MUST SEE* video. From someone who just bought their first gaming laptop with trial and errors im telling you this is exactly the video needed for beginners who don’t know what they’re buying.
I have been in the industry since the 80s. I have never before found a reviewer that was as clear, distinct and thorough as you. The plastic thing on your face is horrible but does not affect the results. God bless. Thank You!
As a viewer who has been diagnosed with SEVERE ADHD and OCD I have to say, without a doubt, that this guy is the best, straightforward Tech related channel on RUclips!!!
While I don't think of myself this way, I am by current standards an old-timer. Been in high-tech since 1983 and lived in the middle of Silicon Valley during the time of web browser and Windows IP stack creation. I have watched and listened to thousands of videos and sessions and read books as well. THIS PRODUCTION IS ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE EVER WATCHED, THOROUGHLY! YOU ARE TO BE COMMENDED FOR YOUR APPROACH, ARTICULATION, CLARITY OF VOICE, GRAPHICS DISPLAYED TO ALIGN WITH YOUR WORDS, AND MORE. AWESOME. YOU MADE ME A SUBSCRIBER. I have just made one purchase of a laptop and replaced with a second purchase (returning 1st) as the first did not support two SSDs and had to open up to find out. I used Passmark CPU benchmarks. However, with all I thought I knew you have tripled my knowledge in buying laptops. THANK YOU!
@SOLDIER110_ I purchased this one at Costco. Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i 16" Touchscreen Intel Evo Platform Laptop - Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 185H - 120HZ OLED 2048 x 1280 Display - Windows 11
This is terrific! No bs, no hocus pocus, just the straight scoop. I hope you do tablets next. I’m retired and all I need is space for audio books, RUclips, newspapers and more information than I’ve got time to absorb. Keep it up you’re doing the Lord’s work!!!🎉
I have only ever owned an iPad and Samsung tablet but would recommend getting a Samsung due to affordability, screen technology, ease-of-use and speakers (I own a Samsung S7 tablet). Since I also have a Samsung phone (bought one this year) I also noticed that they both sync really lovely. With all of that said I believe you could probably buy almost any tablet on the market today and have a nice experience. Just compare the screens, speakers and battery life since those will be your main factors when deciding.
I forgot to mention that Samsung also include a pen with their tablets which is actually really neat. I use mine daily but thought I'd never, or very rarely, use it. I use it for notetaking, sketching, watching movies (sometimes using your hands is not precise enough) or when I'm typing (like right now).
When I purchased my gaming PC, I had to do a lot of research to understand the things you were talking about. I really love your channel because it's educational.
@Dredd2042 to be honest, i would also like to buy myself that laptop but i live in europe germany and it doesnt send it here wich is very sad because it really is a good device for gaming. Do you know any advice to that problem?
@galilelollel9658 I haven't had any problems with the Lenovo Legion brand. The best thing I would recommend is shopping around and researching. Just take your time because, eventually, these laptops and PC go on sale.
Your video is very accurate to the point. I feel it's been a long time since I have seen someone who accurately mentioned how to select a perfect laptop without sacrificing performance.
Bro this was THE MOST helpful video I've seen on this. Like, actually being able to tell what I'm looking at when buying a laptop has taken so much anxiety out of it for me
Actually you have decoded for me all of the wierd things that i used to hear at any tech store! This was very useful and it helped me a lot. Thank you so much and keep up the good work!
I cant tell you how helpful this was! I’m so happy to have this guide during a time when I’m in desperate need of a new laptop and I’m technologically incompetent. I might even watch your video again as I take a look in Best Buy tbh.
Thank you so much for making a video with visuals and making things straight to the point. I honestly wish more computer channels explained things just like you did!👍
Great video. I want to add that one of the most high importance problems in laptops (either-render or gaming) are thermals. Bad thermal Management equals shorter laptop life and Thermal throttling. I think that you should analyze this thing in a separate video.
@venomtang seconded, my old laptop runs games just fine but tends to overheat. So far all I've learned is if you're going for an AMD CPU, if it has an H or HX at the end it has the highest performance and runs hotter, HS uses less power than those two and U is the worst one (similar to the U for Intel: desinged for low battery consumption). But I'd love to know more!
Although this video didn't really provide new info to me, I stayed for the editing and just overall presentation. I sent it to my less tech literate parents and they used to info to buy a PC without my advice (and they made the correct decision in my opinion!). Great content, I like forward to watching more!
Wowww just randomly came across your channel after researching whole of the internet finally someone who talks about everything and explains in a simplified manner for a noobie like me.❤❤❤
great. very informative. been watching reviews for years but nobody explained those things that mattered most in a computer/laptop units until this video. ❤
I have been in computers since 1986 and I always wonder why MIT ( and other magazines like it) never put this type of information in their publication. This video is very educational on computers just in general.
Wow, I was researching for a month on which laptop to buy and all those videos I came across were so detailed to the point it was hard for someone like me who don't understand it in depth to understand. This 16 mins video was all I need, thanks buddy👍
I must say, this is the best video I have found on the internet for buying a laptop! It's been a while since I have been searching for a proper video to give me information on how to buy a best laptop which would suit me for my work, and I had found none uptil now. An amazing video sir! You deserve more followers 🎉
Before watching this, I pretty much new most nothing (except weight and physical dimensions) about all the different specifications within a particular model laptop. In just a few minutes after having watched this video, I was able to learn much more about the numerous technical specs. that I now feel more comfortable about what to look for and what to buy. Thanks Mysterious Tech!
Unless you're only buying new generation stuff, I think some important info was left out (that can be one of the biggest traps for newcomers. You sort of hinted at it in the beginning, but I think it's worth going in more depth in this comment as this was really helpful for me when building my first PC. This is especially helpful for the secondhand market) It's important to note the difference in generations An old generation i7 can be much worse than a newer i3 Same goes for graphics cards If you want to compare 2 CPU's or GPU's, good advice is to search for a comparison. Example: RTX 3060 vs RX 6600 Then choose result (usually from the site userbenchmarks) and you will get a detailed comparison, with an easy to understand percentage score for both Also if you're not a competitive gamer, I would not prioritize spending more for 144 hz 60 hz is just fine for casual gaming You can also get better visuals with 60 hz (60 fps) than 144 hz (144 fps) as getting that high fps will often require you to turn down graphics settings If really depends on the person But if you're more into single player gaming and chill multiplayer and don't care about being the best in multiplayer games that require a lot of accuracy, I really don't think it's worth spending more for getting 144 hz In fact, if you've never had a high performance PC and screen before, you have probably never even experienced 144 fps before
what would you recommend for music production? I want to use the laptop only for making music with Ableton and have many plugins, samples etc. thank you :))

AI is great, isn't it?
True 100%
Maybe years ago, nowdays almost everyone know these basic sheet.
@Fredryk27 No. Everything is confusing.
This man single-handedly erased all my confusion about laptop and computer specs. Ty sir, you are the goat.
Same! I feel like i can apply for an electronic store as store manager 😅
I am a girl who has never owned a laptop and knows NOTHING about laptops. This video was EVERYTHING I needed and more, thank you so much!
What did you get? Like are u in programming sorts?
Exactly, his explanation super simple and helpful
Tho I owned laptops all my life and now have a pc, I know close to NOTHING about specs other than
Intel CPU good, Rtx good, I genuinely can't think of anything else. I always have to ask my brother or pc friends for help in anything 😭
@TamWam_Me too, like I have zero idea.💀😌
@ChichikimCdwhy u think people buy laptop only for programming
These type of videos are rare to find nowadays
That's why he covers his identity 😂
This channel is straight to the topic.
0% bullshit
100% knowledge
200% gay
0% bullshit??! You clearly dont understand about PCs and laptops and trust anybody
@KrisandTodorandIck you didnt get it
My point was that most of channels now take 50% of their video for advertising, bullshitting, talking about their channel and not actually presenting the topic they had planned to present
@CODEC6_prod Oh ye but some of the stuff he mentions aren't really correct like the types of CPUs there are much more than 5 and also the GPU isnt the most importmant part
@KrisandTodorandIck well that video is made for complete beginners not something that a intermediate level person would need
I don’t have any knowledge about laptops so if you have a video/site to recommend I’d be grateful
This wasn't clickbait? It was consise, informative, and had fantastic information. Thank you.
definitely me, bought an Asus TUF Gaming F15 yesterday hahah
I already have a PC at home, bought the components in 2015 and still great tbh even if it has only a 1050ti in it...
I really want to listen to it but hate these AI voices. It's so grating.
@flambyttv7237I have the Asus gaming computer 😂! My only complaint is short battery life and low internal storage(~400GB)✌️
This ain't ai lil bro

I don’t think that there is anyone in a computer store that has the level of knowledge on the subject that you have! Great presentation, great teacher!

As a laptop enthusiast I want to say that this video is great in all aspects. Editing, sound, information provided are all on par. Well done!
I need ur opinion on this, which one's better, Acer swift 5 or Acer spin 5?😭🥹
@hyeri4551 There's no such thing as straight up BETTER without context. Better for what, for who, for how much?
@hyeri4551 we need specifications of the laptop so we can help you. the models can have different specs in different scenarios

Me too actually, now this is THE one video that I would recommend to someone if asked for a laptop.
@LilEffTeeWow - Really...I don't see any unique info. it's generic and paper thin...Like "Make sure you get a laptop with a keyboard" type of explanation.
@MR-co2ti Ik but the video is made for the people who know nothing about laptops.
@MR-co2ti thats whats needed for someone who have no knowledge on those things he's explaining the basics, I feel like its a good video

When I purchased my gaming PC, I had to do a lot of research to understand the things you were talking about. I really love your channel because it's educational.
what did you buy?
@Desstrik Lenovo Legion T7 tower with a RTX 3060. I chose the pre build route.
Yeah I had no idea mac is better then pc.
It's crazy how this industry is trying to cheat you and the amount of research and knowledge you have to do and have 😢
is their any industry is trying not to cheat you?
Phone industry
@edwinchigozie215 iPhone exist
Not the industry but those who are selling them
Dude this is the first time you actually NEED to see this before buying 🙏🏻 big respect absolutely thankful no further research needed
Your video is very accurate to the point. I feel it's been a long time since I have seen someone who accurately mentioned how to select a perfect laptop without sacrificing performance.
0:17 None of my relatives are a computer. If only I were more computer literate.
this is unironically funny
I love this. Never knew what the numbers after the process type meant until now. Very Educational n informational stuff right here, easy to understand
Thank you, I thought I knew enough computer specs but after watching the video I realised I knew very little
Bro this was THE MOST helpful video I've seen on this. Like, actually being able to tell what I'm looking at when buying a laptop has taken so much anxiety out of it for me
Finally, someone who addresses everything and explains it in great detail. Such an informative video.
Wow, clear, precise, organized, informative.
You have a second calling as a trainer for individuals that create informative videos.
This brightened my day.
You deserve more recognition for this.
For someone who know nothing about these things this is a very big help
Actually you have decoded for me all of the wierd things that i used to hear at any tech store! This was very useful and it helped me a lot.
Thank you so much and keep up the good work!
I already did the research and thought this video won't teach me anything new but it structured information in my head sooo well, thank you!
انت الافضل سمعت كثير لكن انت تعلمنا كيف نبحث عن قوة المعالج بأنفسنا
I cant tell you how helpful this was! I’m so happy to have this guide during a time when I’m in desperate need of a new laptop and I’m technologically incompetent. I might even watch your video again as I take a look in Best Buy tbh.
I feel like bill gates right now, bro needs to teach world peace
Thank you so much for making a video with visuals and making things straight to the point. I honestly wish more computer channels explained things just like you did!👍
Watching this after I bought a laptop...thanks YT recommended, _great_ timing.
Who's watching this in 2025?
Mee😂
Mee lol
Me😂
2026 bro.
Literally everyone
You could have organized the last letters of processors to spell huggy
14:46 this is what I want to hear😂
Just found this before buying a laptop😂 Thanks for the guidance! Recomended to those who want to buy a laptop, please watch this video first!
Great video. I want to add that one of the most high importance problems in laptops (either-render or gaming) are thermals. Bad thermal Management equals shorter laptop life and Thermal throttling. I think that you should analyze this thing in a separate video.
Mm is there a vid you can suggest that covers this ?
@venomtang seconded, my old laptop runs games just fine but tends to overheat. So far all I've learned is if you're going for an AMD CPU, if it has an H or HX at the end it has the highest performance and runs hotter, HS uses less power than those two and U is the worst one (similar to the U for Intel: desinged for low battery consumption). But I'd love to know more!
Laptop GPU bench markylist
I've been watching tech videos for like a decade now, and this channel is something different, Thanks for the incredible work!
I like that your content provides straight to the point info for the users that are not tech knowledgeable. Keep up the good work!
Why is bro wearing a stormtrooper mask?😂😂
Just bought a Rendering laptop today with the help of your video. Thank you so much for the info and God bless you 🏅
Which one did you buy? I'm thinking about buying one. Can you share details?
I'm also looking for a rendering laptop please tell me what did you buyed?
اخي ..ممكن سؤال مانوع الجهاز .او الكمبيوتر المناسب للتداول ...ممكن اسمه او نوعه
Can you share it
This is what RUclips was always supposed to be...no-nonsense, educational, well-researched information...and no Corporate sponsor
Although this video didn't really provide new info to me, I stayed for the editing and just overall presentation. I sent it to my less tech literate parents and they used to info to buy a PC without my advice (and they made the correct decision in my opinion!).
Great content, I like forward to watching more!
Yeah I clicked out of curiosity to see if it would be one of "those" videos. Pleasantly surprised
I see, funny BC rn I planning to do the same with my mom she is planning to buy a laptop rn lol.
Hey i see. Ur an Indian. Can u suggest any windows laptop for coding and rendering? It would be great 😸
I'm a Graphic designer and gamer, I need a laptop that will serve both purpose very smoothly❤
Man, where is your "Before you buy a PC video" ? Your channel is literally empty apart from this one video.
Ai ai ai ai ai ai ai au
That still remains a mystery. Don't forget that this is THE MYSTERIOUS TECH
It's a limited time event
i also searching for that video 😅
This video It's got It's dubbed. Normally this man is Turkish
I have been searching for such an amazing illustration for years. Thanks for this video
Wowww just randomly came across your channel after researching whole of the internet finally someone who talks about everything and explains in a simplified manner for a noobie like me.❤❤❤
I love how informative this video really is
great. very informative. been watching reviews for years but nobody explained those things that mattered most in a computer/laptop units until this video. ❤
I have been in computers since 1986 and I always wonder why MIT ( and other magazines like it) never put this type of information in their publication. This video is very educational on computers just in general.
This video is a MASTERCLASS, no doubt.
SO CLEAR to go out with no fear and find a laptop that fit me well.
Wow, I was researching for a month on which laptop to buy and all those videos I came across were so detailed to the point it was hard for someone like me who don't understand it in depth to understand. This 16 mins video was all I need, thanks buddy👍
SUCH AN ELITE VIDEO, EVEN A YEAR LATER.
I’m literally shocked how good this videos is. Really informative and compact. Great job.
Same here, but I have a strong feeling this is AI
@Barrioss1 i heard its dubbed over because they're speaking turkish
@Barrioss1 interesting.
Utter BULLSHIT!
Outstanding job mate! this is the entire material for a e-learning course that I always wanted to make
I must say, this is the best video I have found on the internet for buying a laptop! It's been a while since I have been searching for a proper video to give me information on how to buy a best laptop which would suit me for my work, and I had found none uptil now. An amazing video sir! You deserve more followers 🎉
I literally got my laptop yesterday..
This video is perfect for anyone wanting to buy their first laptop. Nice work!
i almost buy a wrong laptop. thanks for this video.
Unless you're only buying new generation stuff, I think some important info was left out (that can be one of the biggest traps for newcomers. You sort of hinted at it in the beginning, but I think it's worth going in more depth in this comment as this was really helpful for me when building my first PC. This is especially helpful for the secondhand market)
It's important to note the difference in generations
An old generation i7 can be much worse than a newer i3
Same goes for graphics cards
If you want to compare 2 CPU's or GPU's, good advice is to search for a comparison.
Example: RTX 3060 vs RX 6600
Then choose result (usually from the site userbenchmarks) and you will get a detailed comparison, with an easy to understand percentage score for both
Also if you're not a competitive gamer, I would not prioritize spending more for 144 hz
60 hz is just fine for casual gaming
You can also get better visuals with 60 hz (60 fps) than 144 hz (144 fps) as getting that high fps will often require you to turn down graphics settings
If really depends on the person
But if you're more into single player gaming and chill multiplayer and don't care about being the best in multiplayer games that require a lot of accuracy, I really don't think it's worth spending more for getting 144 hz
In fact, if you've never had a high performance PC and screen before, you have probably never even experienced 144 fps before
what would you recommend for music production? I want to use the laptop only for making music with Ableton and have many plugins, samples etc. thank you :))
Thanks
