Never thought i'd see the day where apple dominates both the high end and low end of the market. Simply becuase PC manufacturers got greedy--it's usually the other way around.
It's not even greed it was compliancy and poor execution. Apple's biggest strength is controlling both hardware and software while most manufacturers control none of that. Microsoft has hamstrung ARM processors for generations and even now Windows 10 and 11 have still a lot to do in terms of legacy support, eGPU support and a few other things. Windows has slowly becoming a bigger turd in terms of bloat and other decisions being made with it. Intel's compliancy let them fall behind apple and in their attempt to catch up have had a disaster (mostly limited to the desktop) with their process. AMD has started getting complacent but at least have a decent product tho their Series 300 AI process offered nothing in terms of an upgrade. The whole push to AI so far has been the biggest waste of silicon. As for manufacturers yea, pricing is partly greed but when Intel, AMD, Nvidia call the pricing shots it doesn't help. Apple is at least keeping them honest in terms of design.

I was torn between the G16 and legion 7i. Always had Asus laptops but generally they break after 3 years. Like my current advantage edition. All of a sudden the games stutter and I think the GPU doesn't work... Very upset because I took extremely good care of it. So, this time I went with the legion 7i. Played Dota at full settings. Got around 200fps. But it froze 3 times. It seems you have to set it to performance mode every time you start it up which is annoying and then It didn't freeze yet. Strange. But it's a great laptop. Very happy beside the freezing when you don't select performance mode when you game.
I would disagree with you on your choice for the most portable gaming laptop. Yes, you might've chose the ASUS TUF A14, so you wouldn't seem biased toward the Zephyrus G16 or G14, but we all know that should take the crown as it's profile is more sleek, featuring an even more premium built chassis and easy to travel with tendencies
I really love how the Windows Laptop marked has evovled in 2024 and honestly would rather switch to Windows but here in Europe prices are just way to high and make the already infalted MacBooks look like a even better deal. Everthing that competes with the base m3 air costs 50% more here.
It is a joke that best gaming laptop was actually a thin, expensive one Wih lots of limitations on cooling and performance Can we made some robust thickkkkkk laptop with proper cooling and power delivery module ? I dont need that "a bit better portability" design
@592Johno sure that also applies for all laptop claimed performance and charge premium but lack of performance Only apple can probably do that ,less compromised in relative light and thin body Intel/AMD/Nvidia slim gaming/performance laptop with premium price tag ? God sake you can do it way better by adding 3-5mm into the thickness and double the surface area of cooling fin stack, a way better fan . Then probably sodium / camm2 module , more m2 slot goes raid 0 . After all this you still have a somehow portable laptop with better cooling , better performance, more storage, bigger battery, robust screen hinge We lost too much to make it slightly thinner ,comeon it is physics , if you can't make it slim, just make it thickkkk
Well portability is the whole deal of the a laptop, it meant to be portable. And to be more portable mean it need to shred weight as the thicker the laptop the more weight it has so make it as light as possible while still have a good performance is the objective of a gaming laptop. If you what pure performance beast you can build a PC, like 1k5$ PC can be double the performance of a 1k5$ gaming laptop
because performance above 100w on nvidia gpu doesnt relevant (apart from 4080 and 4090) and if you have like 2k5+ dollars for a gaming laptop that weights a ton, thicc af, weak battery life, then you just go for a desktop atm those thin ones are not limited by the cooling and performance (mostly since aforementioned wattage limit), also, not upgradable ram are because of chipset limitation (core ultra and ryzen ai require soldered ram). And if you want thicc boi then, just go for the brand you like, or the amount of upgradability of those since they are barely 10fps difference. Or if you still care about performance, go for as thick as possible 18 inch laptop that you might dock it and it will never leave your house
@@frankwong9486 and also G16 win the best gaming laptop not just because it thin and light, the speaker, screen, build quality are all top notch with one of the better battery life compare to other gaming laptops. All of that combine with the thin and light aspect make it a top contender for best gaming laptop
The Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 on an X Elite chip is superb. The hardware is always rock solid from Microsoft and battery life is now stellar as well. Not everyone games or edits media so if you live and work in Windows Office 365, these laptops are where you want to be.
I love these videos but this made me think. Best 2024 by the end of 2024 just before CES and new laptops... I know there's no other way to do this, but somehow I just noticed this "issue".
For me the legion 7i was a better pick because the ASUS screen flex made it fell cheaply made. Also Legion to me has better durability and longer lasting. For business or Students I would pick up a Mac Air 15 with 16gb of Ram and 512 hard drive. You get a bigger screen and it will be under 2000 dollars.
In my opinion on the Windows side the G16 can't be beat. It is the laptop mentioned by every reviewer queried. I you are a windows coder I don't think that you could pick a better windows EDC device.
Why they same computer In US cost 699 and here In Portugal they ask above 1000 euros??? Why this 300 euros of Diference??? 😢 In the 1000 rank here they ask 1500... Absurd!!!

Any ongoing sales to check out?
The Vivobook S 14 is due to go on sale again this week if the past trends are anything to go by.
No ProArt PX13 for best portable gaming laptop which also is usable as a tablet. I'm surprised.
The clear winner for me would be the Asus Zenbook S14. It’s the overall best laptop, the build, price and etc.
pro art p16.
G14 2024.Does everything well
No link supplied for the keyboards that was talked about in this video.
Framework was gonna be on this list just for being that bit innovative.
where is the asus pro art p16, open box you can get it for cheap and crazy performance with oled 4k screen.
where is best battery life category?
I really love how the Windows Laptop marked has evovled in 2024 and honestly would rather switch to Windows but here in Europe prices are just way to high and make the already infalted MacBooks look like a even better deal. Everthing that competes with the base m3 air costs 50% more here.
Cute screwdriver colors in the thumbnail
What is the laptop that is in the tumbnail....
Please reply
There are multiple laptops there. Which one are you referring to?
It is a joke that best gaming laptop was actually a thin, expensive one Wih lots of limitations on cooling and performance
Can we made some robust thickkkkkk laptop with proper cooling and power delivery module ?
I dont need that "a bit better portability" design
Just build a PC at that point tbh
@592Johno sure that also applies for all laptop claimed performance and charge premium but lack of performance
Only apple can probably do that ,less compromised in relative light and thin body
Intel/AMD/Nvidia slim gaming/performance laptop with premium price tag ? God sake you can do it way better by adding 3-5mm into the thickness and double the surface area of cooling fin stack, a way better fan . Then probably sodium / camm2 module , more m2 slot goes raid 0 . After all this you still have a somehow portable laptop with better cooling , better performance, more storage, bigger battery, robust screen hinge
We lost too much to make it slightly thinner ,comeon it is physics , if you can't make it slim, just make it thickkkk
Well portability is the whole deal of the a laptop, it meant to be portable. And to be more portable mean it need to shred weight as the thicker the laptop the more weight it has so make it as light as possible while still have a good performance is the objective of a gaming laptop. If you what pure performance beast you can build a PC, like 1k5$ PC can be double the performance of a 1k5$ gaming laptop
because performance above 100w on nvidia gpu doesnt relevant (apart from 4080 and 4090) and if you have like 2k5+ dollars for a gaming laptop that weights a ton, thicc af, weak battery life, then you just go for a desktop atm
those thin ones are not limited by the cooling and performance (mostly since aforementioned wattage limit), also, not upgradable ram are because of chipset limitation (core ultra and ryzen ai require soldered ram).
I know there's no other way to do this, but somehow I just noticed this "issue".
i bought a Lenovo Legion Slim 5 (Gen 9), 16" WQXGA 240Hz HDR400 100%RGB 500nits, GPU nVidia 4060 8GB, CPU AMD R7 8845HS, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, comes with free wired mouse, gaming backpack, wired headset, and 24.5" monitor at 40% sale discount.
Price?
@@tera_hz7125 different country has different prices/promotions, thats why i only stated 40% sale discount.
I'm still sitting on the sidelines and keeping an eye on the iGPU market. Intel almost got me with Lunar Lake. CES can't come soon enough
This year was interesting
Can u tell me gaming laptop under 500
Just bought Lenovo Yoga slim Pro 7 AMD 8845HS RTX3050 for 800 US or 1000$ cad
Less than 2 seconds to show graphs is really not enough.
Why they same computer In US cost 699 and here In Portugal they ask above 1000 euros??? Why this 300 euros of Diference??? 😢 In the 1000 rank here they ask 1500... Absurd!!!
Because the poorer you are the more you have to pay to afford the luxury. This is a key phrase for us 2nd world countries i come from the slovakia and we got it the same as you. I would advice you to competely avoid and boycott local dealers who are putting massive margins on these laptops and buy from the international stores, same for the phones. me myself i have bought xiaomi12 S pro (an upgraded version only for the china) with a custom xiaomi EU operational system for 730€, here in our local shops like nay elektrodom they ask for a common 12 pro with basic chinese OS 1000€
What game the guy 13:00 was playing??
ff16
You forgot 2-in-1s
Yeah Apple again. But i have to say they are pretty good except if it's broken you better ditch them and Mac OS that not pretty familiar for the other, maybe HC need to point best Windows laptop category too
Pro art 13/16 not featured 😮.
Yes.. but the MacBook can’t play games… that’s not gona work for me…
