- I usually associate K&N oil filters with the easy off nut on the top. I did not know how well this filter was made, it seems to be a solid filter that has a very solid case. The Filtration seems to be of good quality and I have no problem using the filter on my Pontiac G6. Filter was purchased from Rockauto $3.30 in Canadian funds.

Looks like Champion Labs China. Reminds me of the STP extended sold at Autozone
Champ Labs have a factory in China now?!
@TassieLorenzo yes but not sure if it's air filters or oil filters specifically. I talked to a Champ Labs rep and they confirmed that they make most of the stp specifically the XL ones I looked in to for the 2.7 ecoboost 3.6 dodge and the replacement for the FoMoCo fl1a
I don't think so. Made by some OF maker in China but don't think Champ Labs.
Not sure but it was built in China. Thanks GAlan.
Thank you for the video I just picked up a couple of these for my Dodge grand caravan and the part number was PS2004. I wanted to know what they looked like and now I know I could have snagged them for $2.40 but I went back the next day they were 3 and a half dollars still a good deal! Solid built filter i think i could run them 5k miles full synthetic oil.
I am glad they are a solid filter, the production quality is good so I will be using on my Pontiac G6 GTP.
That looks like a good filter, even for the price you bought it for. Thanks Bill.
Thanks Ted
The media looks exactly like the specter essential paper air filters that's made for k&n by someone in China
Yes it does, yeah good old Chinese oil filters.
@billsgaragegaming the Specter essential air filters are not making any stand out impressions. Feel kinda flimsy. I have a STP premium air filter and some KAX brand air filters to compare them against.
Looks top quality 👍
It was made very well, thanks Looney.
Good filter, change oil every 3.000 miles Ford V10.
Nice engine, just changed it on my G6 at 6200 km, did a fabulous job, glad I bought 8 very cheaply from Rockauto.
Stick with purolator Boss. Testing shows it has the best overall performance in terms of flow rate, filtration capacity
I can't get the Purolator Boss in my area of Canada yet. I will see if I can get one to review. Thanks for the comment.
Half of the video was trying to cut open the filter. Filler? 🐰
You stick to your awesome horse videos and hoping to see how you change the oil on a horse soon.😂
It might become dangerous trying that out..
You are very inventive, give it a try.😅
Holy shit this chinesium steel was hard, it has to be excellent media because it is strawberry-infused, it is so good that it makes your engine oil smell good.😉
I prefer Cherry 😂
Thanks Bud, I enjoy the funny sarcasm you brought to the comment. 😂
@@crazybillsgarage joke aside it looks like a pretty good filter, and it is reasonably priced.
Well thankfully it doesn’t feel cheap or anything 😂
@budblack3588 thanks Bud, I will use it next oil change on G6.
K&N is great i use the K&N 1001 on my Opel Ascona Rallye Car, would it be possible some Time to open an 1001 maybe ? Sadly i have now no used ones around me i would like to see how they look after some Time.
If I can get my hands on one i will open it up.
What's your favourite filter for your Pontiac G6? 🙂
The filter I have used and really like is the Champ XL for my G6.
Anti drain back valve looks to be silicon to me
Agreed. Silicone.
On the K&N website they say it's nitrile but who knows. I will probably do a burn test on them. thanks Luke.
@faxmen09 I will probably do a burn test on a few anti- Drainbacks again. Thanks Faxmen.
@@crazybillsgarage I'll say this, if it burns black, sooty and stinky, it will be the very first Orange/Red adbv I've ever seen that's nitrile. Again, like other ones posted recently, (Purolator made) with orange/red adbv, box info incorrect. General rule of thumb. if adbv has color than black, it's silicone. I realize black not technically a color of the spectrum, but you get point. Other examples, Blue (Super Tech and Mitsubishi), Purple (Royal Purple) Gray-ish and White (Mann), all silicone.
@@crazybillsgarage So, went to K&N website and it says, Gasket material, nitrile rubber. That refers to the sealing "gasket" on the outside. For adbv it says, yes with no reference to material used. Sticking with silicone for that.
Flag cloth? Ccp recycling??? Lol
Funny, excellent comment.😅
I stick with Wix filters
My Honda uses the Wix XP, I think they are great filters.
