Thanks Bud, the filter is a mess of cheap products put into one filter. The metal ends caps and base plate are the best qualities. Never a filter I will use.😉

I open those sealed boxes. I mostly check to make sure the louvers are open enough.

That's a new trend with filters nowadays, I think it started with Chinese built filters but have branched out the American built filters. 🤔

@kirkpalmer1709 me personally, I am not a fan of louvers and continue to always support the holes in the tunes.😉

@@crazybillsgarage I'm not either but all the top brand filters for my truck are louvered. I thought I might have found a good filter with holes in the core with a Luber Finer, but I opened one of those up and one of the end caps was only half glued to the media so their quality control can't be trusted. I'm still searching but I don't think a good filter with holes exists for my truck.

@kirkpalmer1709 does AC Delco make a filter for your truck. They have E core and built pretty good.

Definitely with the Jeep not getting great maintenance. Sadly the owner is young 20s and not a car person. Hopefully his father can get him into proper maintenance, but I doubt it.

I can honestly say I have never heard that before. But I have noticed that Motorcraft filters do have good quality parts and the glue is of higher quality also.

I'm surprised this engine lasted over 300k now.😉

I feel for you, many have had this problem and don't even know it.

I would use the AC Delco, Wix or Purolator One filters for that low mileage truck and a good full synthetic oil, Penzoil or Mobil 1.

Thanks for the comment, I see a lot of the different semi synthetic oil. I use it in my Toyota Previa and that van has over 500k on it.

You can still buy conventional oil in multi-grades or straight weights.

It's a great filter and some say there are other filters better, but in my opinion The One does a great job and the only other filter that might surpass it is the Boss. But I think Purolator One does a fine job in any vehicle. Thank you.

Anything can be diluted with water, that might help with the streaky nature of it. I don't see any reason why it can't be used in door jams if wiped off correctly.
