We get the impression that the whole of India was Bharath. This could not be possible. India is a country where there are thousands of cultures, languages, and people who have nothing to do with ancient Bharath or the Hindu religion. Dr. Swamy's perspective is a selective one for the people of the Hindu Rashtra. Nobody talks about the people who lived in India before the arrival of the Hindus. Bharath may belong to Hindus, but India belongs to everybody including Hindus and non-Hindus.

please see sanskrit dictionary. BHA means bright or lustrous. RATA means devoted to or attached to. BHARATA land of people who led a bright life. prosperous, rightful, noble etc., life. literally translated as land down the Meru moutain extending upto to the Dakshina sagara including pancha dravida. (Kerala, Karnataka, tamilnad, andhra, and gujrath. ) Those who lived in west of India knew us as people living on the banks of Sindu river. sindu was pronounced as Hindu as per their languages. Hindu should have become Indu and India later. we lost out lustre due to the continuous conquests we faced from the western world.
There is no dispute that our land was known by the name Aryavarta meaning "land where Aryans live". Arya means noble men, men of sterling character. Because the people were bright in all respects they were also known as Bharatas. You can see Krishna addressing Arjuna as 'Bharata' in Bhagavad gita. In olden days the people who lived in the western side of Sindu river fondly and respectfully addressed our people as Sindus. It later got corrupted as Hindu. The Muslim and Mughal invasions happened only in later period. They could have translated the word as theif in later days. I believe that people of our land and the western people were cordial and maintained mutual respect in ancient days. The Mughal invasion etc.m happened only a few centuries ago.

Dr. Swami I have great respect for you but Being reasonable intelligent man myself I need to tell you. You would have been great Finance Minister in the Modi cabinet but Politics of the nations is very complex We need a leader like MODI to get elected enough MPS to form a Government! Mr. Modi is a mass tireless leader, you need to support him even if he is stubborn in a certain respect, but surely he regards and respects you. If someone brings some new information just listen dont believe. Remember how Aryan Invasion theory became Aryan Migration theory. Which side do you think was the most opposed to the invasion theory. So when they were opposing it offcourse scholars must have said these idiots know nothing. The important thing is if there are loopholes in a theory then an opposition is needed to keep a pressure for further discovery, otherwise weak theories will be considered as facts.
