Just like we celebrate " Onam" that was about good old days about an Asura King called Mahabali. Recorded human civilisation started around 5000bc.. I’m sure I look quite different from most North Indians. It’s common across the world for people groups to mix from different regions being different ethnicity. Dravidian and Aryans have mixed long long ago. But not all are mixed which can be seen, someone like me quite dark while most northern people have lighter complexion

Whatever you say but being North Indian I have faced a lot of discrimination in Tamil Nadu . I will not generalize this but it is tough for a North Indian to survive in interior South . Cities like Banglore and Hyderabad are more welcoming but my experience of two years has been very challenging . I have had friends they were very kind to me but they also knew that I will face this discrimination . This is not a complain because I know they also face challenges in rural north India but as an Indian I don't like this . Nothing against my lovely brothers and sisters from South India . It's just something I wanted to speak out .

But the percentage of each varies between the ethnic groups very much. As an example, tamils have in general much more dravidian genes than a guy in gujarat. But it don't have always to be the case. There are also many fair malayalis, who are considered as dravidians who have fair skin tone, or a marathi who has a darker skin tone.

Meanwhile, an increasing number of Tamil leaders began to embrace the Dravidian identity. This evolved into Tamil chauvinism that was initially secular and not religious. It was fed by the theory that in the Indian Ocean there once existed a lost continent called Lemuria (similar to the Atlantis myth), the original homeland of the Dravidians. Accounts glorifying Lemuria were taught as historical fact under British rule, because this exacerbated the regional faultlines. After India’s independence, Dravidian identity entered politics, and now dominates the state’s power structure.
The Dravidian identity is now being increasingly Christianized. A new religion called “Dravidian Christianity” has been invented through a sudden upsurge of writings designed to “discover” the existence of quasi-Christianity in Tamil history prior to the coming of the “Aryan” Brahmins. The project is to co-opt Tamil culture, language and literature and systematically cleanse them of Hinduism. Christian interpretations and substitutes are being injected into the most cherished symbols, artifacts and literary works of Tamil Hindu culture.
The preposterous claim is that Tamil classical literature originated in early Christianity. The Tamil classical tradition consists of two great components: an ethical treatise called Thirukural (abbreviated Kural, authored by the great sage Thiruvalluvar), and a sophisticated Vedanta philosophical system called Saiva Siddhanta, which traces its origins to the Vedas and was nurtured by many Tamil savants over the centuries. Dravidian Christianity appropriates both these foundational works, attributing them to Christian influence. To make this credible, the pre-Christian date for Kural has been replaced by more recent dates.
The narrative used is that St. Thomas, the apostle, visited south India and taught Christianity to the great sage, Thiruvalluvar, who was inspired by Christianity, but did not capture St. Thomas’ message accurately. This is often portrayed in recently published paintings showing the sage sitting at the feet of St. Thomas, taking notes. Sanskrit is downgraded as a language created by St. Thomas to spread the Christian message to the uncivilized north Indian races.
The Indian church has periodically announced archeological “discoveries” to back the visit of St. Thomas to south India, but none of them have been verified by professional archeologists. Even the famous Jesuit archeologist, Father Heras, dismissed the so-called discovery of Thomas’ tomb in Chennai.
Western churches send billions of dollars to Tamil Nadu, the epicenter of the project to harvest Indian souls. While the sheer scale of intellectual fraud and prejudice is breathtaking, the church’s political clout has enabled it to permeate university research, education, museums, politics and film. The state government is even supporting the production of an epic feature film on St. Thomas that will popularize this myth.
The Dravidian Christianity movement has organized an entire series of international conferences over the past decade, where its scholars make outlandish revisions to Indian religious history. They claim that the Bhagavad Gita, Tamil classics and even Sanskrit originated after Christ and under the influence of Christianity. The crackpot Lemurian theory pops up as well. A 2005 conference in New York had the theme, “International Conference on the History of Early Christianity in India.”
Senator Hillary Clinton greeted it with the message: “I am confident that the breadth of resources presented during the conference will shed light on the impact of Christianity on medieval and classical India and its effects on the cultural and political climate of India…”

It is evidence that SHUDRAS should not study Vedas.Any how, there may be rare cases of exemption. The knowledge of ithihasa and puranas is available for all caste.

The Vedic period is considered to be around 1500-600 BCE, around the time of the composition of the four sacred Vedic texts (Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda, and Atharvaveda). And we have evidence that Shiva worship and yoga predates this period.
The Pashupati seal (dated around 2350-2000 BC), discovered in the Indus Valley Civilization (IVC; a pre-Vedic period) shows the figure of yogi sitting in the yogic lotus posture. This figures is considered to be Shiva by many scholars. John Marshall gives the following reasons why he considers this figure to be Shiva: “My reasons for the identification are four. In the first place the figure has three faces and that Siva was portrayed with three as well as with more usual five faces, there are abundant examples to prove. Secondly, the head is crowned with the horns of a bull and the trisula are characteristic emblems of Siva. Thirdly, the figure is in a typical yoga attitude, and Siva was and still is, regarded as a mahayogi-the prince of Yogis. Fourthly, he is surrounded by animals, and Siva is par excellence the "Lord of Animals" (Pasupati)-of the wild animals of the jungle, according to the Vedic meaning of the word pasu, no less than that of domesticated cattle.”
There are also other similar seals of Shiva found in the IVC. There are also Shivalingas found in the IVC (3500 BCE to 2300 BCE). Mother Goddess worship was also prominent in IVC. There is no evidence of Sanskrit or Vedas having existed in the IVC, as the Indus valley script has nothing to do with Sanskrit. Dhyansky (1987) discusses about yoga existing in the Indus Valley Civilization. Harappa, which is one of the sites when IVC excavations were found and whose name comes from the nearby village, can be split into “Hara” (another name for Shiva) and “appa” (meaning father in some South Indian languages) [book: Tantra, its mystic and scientific basis].
Also, some scholars have said that prehistoric paintings at the Bhimbetka rock shelters (dated pre-10,000 BCE period) shows figures of Shiva dancing, Shiva's trident, and his mount Nandi. These are good evidences showing that both yoga and Shiva worship existed in the pre-Vedic period. Shiva in the yogic tradition is seen as the first yogi, Adiyogi, who taught the yogic sciences over 15,000 years back. Shiva and Shakti are also closely associated with Tantra.
Although we cannot be sure, Shiva’s inclusion into the Vedic fold may not have been very smooth. Although Shiva was a prominent deity well before the Vedic period, he is only a minor deity called Rudra in the Rigveda, which is the oldest Veda. He is mainly seen as a god of anger, destruction, death, and feared most.Rig Veda 7.21.5 and 10.99.3 shows the Vedic people being against Phallus (Lingam) worshippers. The Puranic story of Daksha (father of Sati) insulting Shiva and calling him Vedabahya (which means ‘outside the Vedas’) have led to some scholars indicating that Shiva worship happened among the non-Vedic tribes. It is only in the later Vedas, and in the Svetasvatara Upanishad, that Shiva was elevated to the status of Brahman. All this suggests that the integration of Shiva into the Vedic pantheon may not have been very smooth.

There are many tamilians living in Lucknow respectfully, I have spend a brief time period in Southern region, apart of one or two incident of discrimination towards north India rest were really helpful, also we North Indians treat our tamil brother respectfully as if everyone in South is either a Scientist or an I.t engineer 🤣. Arguments favoring Aryan Migration/Invasion Theory:
1)If Sanskrit has 5,000+ years history in India ,why there is no relation between Sanskrit and IVC script.
2)A 2013 paper in Cell entitled “Genetic Evidence for Recent Population Mixture in India,” by David Reich , emphatically states, based on genetic evidence, that most Indians descend from a mixture of two genetically divergent populations, called ancestral north Indians, related to Central Asians, Middle Easterners, Caucasians and Europeans; and ancestral south Indians (ASI), not closely related to groups outside the subcontinent. Archaeological and linguistic studies provide further support for these genetic findings about Indians being a blend of at least two very distinct populations
3) Another paper in Science published in 2019, entitled “The formation of human populations in South and Central Asia”, provided further evidence in support of the migration of Yamnaya Steppe pastoralist ancestry into India.
Steppe pastoralists migrating from Russia mixed with people of the Indus valley civilisation to contribute to Ancient North Indians while the Ancient South Indians derived their ancestry primarily from Indus valley populations.
Amazingly, Rigvedic Sanskrit was first recorded in inscriptions found not on the plains of India but in in what is now northern Syria. Between 1500 and 1350 BC, a dynasty called the Mitanni ruled over the upper Euphrates-Tigris basin, land that corresponds to what are now the countries of Syria, Iraq, and Turkey.
4)A recent paper, published in April 2021 in the journal Cell, suggests that proto-Greek and Indo-European languages originated in Anatolia or the Pontic-Caspian Steppe region.
5) Namit Arora in his book points out that Harappan seals never showed horses; their imagery only appears in the subcontinent after the collapse of the Indus Valley civilisation.
This would suggest that the horse culture must have arrived along with the Aryans from Central Asia.
The language and religion of these migrants brought over proto-Sanskrit and proto-Vedas, and Vedic gods such as Indra, Mitra, and Varuna and fire worship, which is similar to the practices of their Aryan brethren in Iran. They blended in with the local population and with local religious practices, with gods like Shiva-Parvati and Ganesha.
6)In Wanderers, Kings, Merchants, Peggy Mohan delves into the sounds and structures of the Indo-Aryan and Dravidian languages, and notes that the Sanskrit of the Vedas did not originally have retroflex consonants. Drawing on the work of University of Michigan linguist Madhav Deshpande, it would appear that “proto-Sanskrit” evolved by incorporating elements of local Indian languages. Further, Deshpande’s linguistic research suggests that the developments are a result of convergence and not of forcible subversion, which is significant since it indicates that the social relationship between Indo-Aryan and Dravidian speakers in early India was one of equality, rather than “Indo-Aryan invaders suppressing an indigenous Dravidian population and forcing it to learn their language”.
Indus script relation with Dravidian languages:
1) Ancient Near East of middle-third-millennium to early-second-millennium BC had no native elephants. The Syrian elephants of 1700 BC were also arguably imported from India. Archaeological evidence confirmed that Mesopotamian people imported ivory from only IVC, and the Persian Gulf traders had functioned as intermediaries in the thriving trade between IVC and Mesopotamia.
Interestingly, in the current Dravidian languages of south India, elephants are referred to as ‘pilu’ in Kannada, ‘pilluvam’ in Tamil and ‘piliru’ in Telugu. Linguists say that ‘pilu’ entered classical Sanskrit very late, as a borrowed word.Since ancient Iranian languages did not use the sound ‘l’, they change the ‘l’s of foreign word to ‘r’s. Thus ‘pilu’ became ‘piru’, just the way ‘Babilu’ (Babylon) became ‘Babiru’, and the Mesopotamians adapted the same.
2) Finnish Indologist and Indus script expert Asko Parola also feels that the Dravidian(Tamil) words such as ‘mukham’ (face, front, mouth), ‘khalam’ (threshing floor), ‘phalam’ (fruit) and ‘kundam’ (pit) are found in the Rigvedic Indo-Aryan texts which was composed 1500BCE
Tamil god “Muruku” (baby boy), according to Parpola, is a hunter god of the hill forests. Muruku, the god of love and fertility, was worshipped with frenzy dances and flesh and blood of a ram or goat. In 300 CE, the god amalgamated with Skanda of north India. “The pictorial and rebus meaning of fish in Dravidian means ‘miin’ and ‘miin’ also means star. I think they both possibly come from ‘min’ which means ‘to glitter’,”
3) In 2019, excavations carried out in the Keezadi site in Tamil Nadu’s Sivagangai district revealed graffiti dating back to 580 BC. The graffiti has been deemed to bear a distinct resemblance to the Indus script.Not just Keezadi, graffiti marks similar to the Indus script were recently discovered onpotsherds excavated from a site in Mariyapuram, Uthirakosamangai which falls in the Ramanathapuram district of tamilnadu
4) In 2017, Indus script expert Iravatham Mahadevan observed in a report that the Tamil sport of Jallikattu was depicted in an Indus seal found in Mohenjodaro (present-day Pakistan) in what he interpreted as a link between Dravidian and Indus cultures. In 2018, symbolist TL Subhash Chandra Bose wrote in his book ‘Ancient Tamizh - The Faculty of Harappan Symbols and Scripts’ that another seal foud in Bannavali referred to the sport of Sallikattu in language similar to that found on a Sangam era stone slab preserved in the Salem Archaeological Museum.
All evidence and research therefore points to India being the world’s largest, if not first, melting pot, with both the genetic pool and the languages and culture resulting from a blend of migrants over time with preexisting indigenous populations.

Aryan migration is not one time migration.
It's a constant migration of middle Asian ( from Stan countries like Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran ( Aryana is the older name, ) Turkmenistan etc. ) from 5000 years constantly to Indian subcontinent.

Ravan was a upper caste born in North India. He got a boon from Shiva, conquered Sri Lanka & became their King. He was well versed in Vedas. Arya means someone who is noble. Whatever you say but being North Indian I have faced a lot of discrimination in Tamil Nadu . I will not generalize this but it is tough for a North Indian to survive in interior South . Cities like Banglore and Hyderabad are more welcoming but my experience of two years has been very challenging . I have had friends they were very kind to me but they also knew that I will face this discrimination .
This is not a complain because I know they also face challenges in rural north India but as an Indian I don't like this .

@Gaut Skiz because of the geographical location obvious no other country shares this diversity area wise...the more you stay in a region the more your body will adapt to that area as hotter region requires more melanin....just look at mexican and North African people they also share the diversity in skin colour but no country have exact diverse geography as india...
This guy is just wrong. There was a migration from aryans. But yes nowadays you can only make division in the language family. Every person has dravidian and aryan blood in him. But the percentage of each varies between the ethnic groups very much. As an example, tamils have in general much more dravidian genes than a guy in gujarat. But it don't have always to be the case. There are also many fair malayalis, who are considered as dravidians who have fair skin tone, or a marathi who has a darker skin tone.

Deification reduces the real greatness of Adi Shankara who explored different schools of thought within Bharat like Sankhya, Tantra, Poorva Meemamsa (Karma Kanda) and Boudha and promoted Vedanta also known as Uttara Meemaamsa (Upanishads, Geetas ..) which is the gist of Vedas.
