Once India gets out of its own way, nothing can stop it. I've been saying this for years. I can't wait for India to surpass China in terms of real GDP. Cutting-edge manufacturing and supply chain technology, stable and modern monetary policy, accommodative infrastructure build-out are all key to their success. One of the youngest age demographics in the world, this is a once-in-a-lifetime moment to harness this resource and educate these young people to build India to its full potential. This American is rooting for you, India.

Oh please we all know Swami is bullshtng about everything.
He's certainly not an ediot but his biggest problem is his ego that got hurt when modi didn't give him ministerial position and i can see why. Thank God!
In 2017 under modi Indian troops went and stopped Chinese road construction on Bhutanese territory.
Not on indian but Bhutans territory.
In galwan and ever since that it's india under modi thats confronting Chinese.
Maybe Swami doesn't remember but i do. During previous governments rule Chinese use to come and grab territories just like now but did you see this level of confrontation back then?
On covid vaccines, economy everything you judge after a year how wrong Swami was.
Subramanian Swamys bloated ego is his biggest enemy and precisely why Modi kept him out of the government.

The collective enthusiasm among Indians for India is a happy reminder for me of the enthusiasm Americans had during the 1950-60s. Today, many young people in America are ashamed of their country, converting into anti-America haters with the enthusiasm of a brand-new convert. This is a bad place to be.

@@RoodeMenon Subramanian Swamy mentioned the need to develop thorium based nuclear reactors. For one thing India is sitting on 40% of the worlds thorium deposits. Secondly thorium reactors are much safer options for nuclear energy. There is less radioactive waste and it stays active for a shorter period, operation can take place at much less pressure and the process can be stopped instantaneously unlike uranium reactors. This would have drastically changed the outcome of what happened in Fukushima.
If India can make itself a leader in building an maintaining thorium based reactors, we could build them for the world. Another benefit is that thorium reactors don’t produce plutonium as a byproduct which is needed for nuclear weapons.

Individually speaking, Indians are of great potential of success. But when put into a group, sometimes things are not working out because of everyone has big ego.
Indians definately have great potential since each indicidual are great, but a lot of times, they need to put away their big ego since teamwork is what really matters.

This guy is full of it. He called China a place that doesn't make anything LOL.
Adding value on a manufacturing supply chain is a growth process that Japan and South Korea all went through and is still doing, China has moved up the manufacturing value chain for many if not all industries.
The fact that he dismisses the process of reaching high tech manufacturing economy, (first through low value added manufacturing), as nothing to emulate should tell you this guy is full of it.
He is the embodiment of what is wrong with India, wanting to achieve quick results while not doing any of the hard work.
Just take a listen of what he's saying, in his over 1 hour rant about how india will be superpower did he say the word "Infrastructure" a single time? NO. to be even considered a low end manufacturing power, you need some decent infrastructure, otherwise how are you going to ship the goods around and export it?
This is the problem of india, claiming they've identified the "problem" which is always some political problem mainly caused by the opposition, but never about infrastructure which is the actual hard work countries need to develop.

Patrick I have been listening to you on You Tube occasionally for the last one year- & find your podcasts forceful.
I lived in India for the first 50 years of my life & now in the US for the last 36 years in Georgia.
Your interview with Dr Subramaniam Swamy ( who I have also listened to often on You Tube) was excellent. I was born raised & educated in India in an Anglophone milieu & environment & hence my mother tongue was and is English. In India. I graduated in Electrical Engineering from Poona India in 1957 & then worked in Public Sector & Siemens India all over India based in Bombay but worked in most of the Indian States in Bengal/ Bihar/ Orissa & Assam in Eastern India for Industrial Projects while in Siemens India - so I agree 100% with what Dr Swamy says about Indias potential- I know that since I interacted with my Indian colleagues of all religions & faiths Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Parsees & Christian/Catholics- of which I am a staunch one from Goa- as my name suggests.
India has one of the finest &
Disciplined Armed Forces in the World. India needs have the sense to get into an Arms Supply Agreement with the U.S. to supply its Forces with Arms Gratis ( NO boots on the ground)to counteract against an Chinese war/ aggression & the U.S. should have the sense to make such a deal with India in its own interest when India can open a second front in the Himalayas when the U.S. takes on China in the South China Seas- otherwise the U.S. will lose/ come out second best as inKorea/ Vietnam/Cambodia//Iraq/ Afghanistan . The U.S. needs the 1.4 billion Indians on its side against China in such an event to be successful

I think the recent COVID 19 chaos in India clearly shows India's weaknesses, it was chaos. More importantly, India has still not yet liberated women and until they do... they're not even a contender. Women are at every level of society in China. It will definitely be another 15 years before India even gets close to China. According to me, the biggest problem that a democracy can have is to be a democracy!! this makes people decide what's the fate of the country for the next 4-5 years. This can become a setback to the the country's growth, where the people who don't have knowledge of long term goals of a country, try to choose a lethargic/non-competent/anti-national leadership for there short term personal gains. Thankfully, India has a kind of leadership that has the guts to take strong decisions, although the pandemic has costed our PM lose some of his reputation of being a incontestable political decisions, He still has proved to be the best option India have had after former fierce PM Indira Gandhi.
Not only that, he has granted unquestionable power to the Indian military in order to tackle China, And he has made India proud internationally and lifted India's perception as a country for the West. 1) Talk less and do more.

    3) National pride vs reality of life is harsh.
    4) Frankly, fix the domestic problems in India first.

    6) Get rid of the bad habit of debate, debate, debate, talk talk talk.. full of drama but very little is done.
    7) Tackle the society problems,i,e crimes, rapes, gangsters, drugs, etc.
    8) Be HUMBLE... face the reality, the quality of life doesn't come close to China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, etc.
    9) Be factual about 2021 numbers.
    10) Don't be a day dreamer and feel good India is replacing China in 15 years time. When talk and debate 90% of the time, Do 10% of the time compare to China 90% of time getting things done and 10% of time talking.

this guy doesn't known ANYTHING about industry. He called China a place that doesn't make anything LOL. adding value on a manufacturing supply chain is a growth process that Japan and South Korea all went through and is still doing, China has moved up the manufacturing value chain for many if not all industries.
The fact that he dismisses the process of reaching high tech manufacturing economy, first through low value added manufacturing, as nothing to emulate should tell you this guy is full of it.

After watching so many interviews of Swamy ji, I have noticed that he speaks one sentence expecting people to understand the underneath reason of the sentence. His interviews are not to watch and comment on what he says, but to think why he says that.

Debashish , can you please elaborate what you just said ! ....because what I concluded is that swami wants to behold the defining chair in economics in India. And he is actually condemning PM's decesions to team up rookies in main chairs and not experts.🙄
May be that could be his point.
Pls explain. I want to know.
