Got my cap 1.3 Rongpeng chrome cap from Aliexpress and it has fixed the small spray pattern issue with my Aeropro A610. I also tried the 1.5 tip with the 1.3 cap and it seams to atomize the paint very well. Also lays out a rectangular 18 inch pattern. (For anybody who thinks this gun is slow).
That r5 don't play bro, it's one of my favorite budget guns for sure. I never thought about cap swapping. I'm gonna have to try that. Those quickies always flow out nice😅.... I feel you 💯 I'll have to check out that Eastwood gun
Very nice video, really sprays well. Thanks for showing us how these low budget guns perform. Love watching you make those paint jobs look like you can ice skate on them 😁❤️
Laid glass! The air caps have always made a difference in the various R500 rebrands. Something DIYers also need to think about is the overspray. Most of us spraying at home dont have an ideal exhaust system and that will alter how much you can turn the gun up and can still see what you're doing. Good info on that cap!
@@frankvalencia9227 I think they are the same design I don't know about the internals of the spray gun. The LT does look shinier and feels well built. I have not had my hands on the other makes other than the Eastwood to give you an accurate answer.
Thank you Mr Brown, I know you're happy this wasn't another "UK Technology" 🇨🇳🐲 spray gun 🤣🤣 I set my man off last time with that crap. Lol but yeah this one here is nice. Thank you for watching.
I have the original APr500 and the a610/r500. I think the original aeropro r500 sprays better than the cosmetically updated aeropro a610/r500. Has to be the aircap. I drilled out the 1.7mm tip to 2mm with a 5/64 bit and just use my a610 for high build primer. Had to lap in the needle with some compound to seal it. Works good for primer. Really hoses it on. My r500 sprays everything else real nice. These guns just work. Real good for DIY. Turn down the pressure and fluid and you get very little overspray. Almost as low as my lph400. For the price they cant be beat
I am shocked that you don't get runs, you lay it on pretty heavy for the first coats. My go to gun is my favorite Iwata LPH 400, 10 years now. Never fails. Your voice overs are hilarious 😂😂
Thanks Bruce, man I've been spraying this same clear for 11 years now, I know just how far to push it. And the LPH 400 is my ♥️ she's been with me for almost 20 years and never misses a beat 🪘🪘 If I used my same technique with a new clear I'd probably have those "runs" things you mentioned. Takes me like a week or 2 to really dial in a product. So imagine 11 years with the same clear. 💪🏼 Blessings my man 🤜🏼🤛🏼
That is very rare you get to use the same dang clear after all these years. I have had some favorites. I am shooting Nason 498 these days, still have a few gallons of it left. I may go to yours after that.@@thetriggerman954

Just this week I was looking into the r500 cause I have know LvLP guns in my collection and I hear there good for home use. That spray pattern was definitely nice size and nice gun too.👍🏽🏁🏁🏁

At Aliexpress this gun is known as the K-400, marketed as a LVMP gun. Gotta look out for the trigger o-ring seals though, mine got pinched, just replaced it with a new o-ring and it's good now.
Do you have to prep your cars? I wish I didn’t have to prep and just spray. Maybe one day lol I’m still painting boats. Have you tried the iwata ws-400 supernova? I’ve watched all your videos but I can’t remember.
Na man we have a prepper here. I don't mind prepping but they've had one since I've worked here. It's like there's not enough work for two painters but then it's too much work for just one painter so the prepper works out good. Still on those boats huh man? 😂

@@thetriggerman954 fo sho!!! I wish I knew this before I bought the aeropro 610. It will be my catalyst/hardener gun now ( primer, clear, and single stage gun). At least if it messes up, I won’t care!
@@thetriggerman954 I have the aeropro r500, and the trigger is way smoother on it than the 610. I wanna know what did they improve on…the color scheme? They even took the marks for the adjustments off! Smh
Small update on the Rongpeng r500 from AliExpress. I did receive it and at first I was like “balls”!!! There are some differences. The outside surface has a grainy look to it! The trigger wouldn’t close completely, so I broke it all the way down. It had lots of grease in there, but not on the seals. Cleaned it, put some slick honey on the seals, now it’s smooth like Gary Coleman!!! The adjustment knobs are quality with #’s on them. I will let you know how it sprays. I made a post before, but I don’t see it.
When u sprayed ur base on the paper, it is a wet on top n bottom and dry in middle. Gotta bring the pressure down so its even thruout the spray pattern IMO. maybe some one else can give input on that.. also pressures r pretty high so its creates alot of overspray no? I dont see a difference between a HVLP vs LVLP besides the high volume that others spray.
Hahaha!!! Loved this one..."Imma just gonna do what I'm told..eh eh eh." You still want to punch em in the head. Great video, great gun. I bought one too. Best small shop/DIY gun especially since I paint smaller motorcycle parts.
I'm just wondering why you put most of your paint on the first coat? I am a beginner and I assume the reason why the RUclips paint community is in an uproar is because of that, lol!! I am actually looking for a good quality LVLP gun. My 20-gallon compressor runs between 5-7psi. Can you provide the link for this gun and the optional air cap that you swapped out? I am also considering maybe just going with a smaller gun? I don't mind spending a little extra money to get a better quality gun. What are your thoughts? Any other great guns you would recommend. Both full-size and smaller guns? Thank you!
That's just my style of painting. I've been painting cars for longer than some of that community has been born. And have mostly every certification you can get in automotive refinishing. Some people learned to paint watching RUclips and some went to school and learned the trade. I went to school not saying there is anything wrong with that, but those people can't question someone who actually learned this trade by the book. For me I like to get my paint on a little heavier / coverage give an extended amount of flash time after my first coat while doing so I can do other things That are being more productive on getting work done besides standing there looking at a panel that barely has coverage It's just a waste of time, and I get it some people like to teach you guys to put it on very light and build it up because for a newbie there is a higher chance of running the base coat while trying to get it so heavy on their first coat. Goes back to my first lesson which is " learn your materials " Then you will know how far you can push things whether it's base coat or clear coat stick to one material learn it front to back Then you will know how far you can push that material. Here is a link for the gun with the upgraded cap all in one, great gun amzn.to/3tTmfzB
@@fiys567 no I've never heard of that gun. My favorite budget gun so far is the ANI F-160. It's the only one I've actually put in with the rest of my real guns that I use professionally.
Hola tengo un compresor de 24 litros y quiero pintar una puerta de coche que me aconsejas la r500 o la a610 cuanto cfm consume cada una ycual me aconsejas gracias
Wow! That looks Bee U Tee Full, but you know there's a dent on that back bumper. Did you know that? 😁😂🤣 That Eastwood gun is the spitting image of an LPH-400. Maybe the handle shape is *slightly* different, but they didn't even try to hide everything else! Even the adjustment knobs and the markings on the adjustment knobs look the same. I'll bet if you broke that down next to an LPH-400 the parts would interchange. I think that a whole lot of the Chinese copycat spray guns are not, in fact, "HVLP" spray guns, even though they are marketed and sold as that. The clouds that they produce in the booth look just like the clouds that used to be created with conventional spray guns from yesteryear. (I don't think anyone misses that) I think that's why some of them spray so well compared to many of the actual HVLP guns. You're right though, they probably won't work on a low CFM compressor - despite what the packaging says. 😉
BeachCity in the hizzouse, yeah man suckers cloud up the booth quick, old conventional guns took 35 to 40 PSI to atomize properly. Spraying these guns I realize I need 35 to 40 psi to atomize properly Hmmm 🤔 But it says LVLP so it has to be. These paint gun manufacturers winning lie to us BeachCity. It's crazy how I could take my LPH and get that same exact finish with only 21 PSI. And will also produce half of a cloud if that. Make HVLP guns great again 🇺🇲 🚜🤠
I bought that gun used it once for a door and fender. Went to use it again and looks like it’s clogged and or broken. It did work well but disappointed in the longevity of it didn’t last long at all

Just confusing I’m trying to find a gun that’ll be good with my compressor. Thank you
I've heard the same think that they use up more CFM than advertised. Like I said in this video. I'm not the guy to get verification on the CFM. Simply because I use a very larger shop compressor. I do have a personal smaller compressor at work. Maybe I'll try it out this week.matter fact yes I'm going to do that this week. Since a lot of guys are asking that same question. That Eastwood gun looks like a knockoff of a DeVilbiss FLG 5 a very nice gun at around 175 dollars. Looks like you have a nice booth set up, for most home sprayers It's the over spray that's the issue. Air delivery and oil and water separation are usually the devils that kill home spray jobs.
Yea I had a set up at my house but I had a big 60 gallon devilbiss compressor with devilbiss moisture/oil separator, invested up front to have a smooth operation. Ran it for 6 years now problem, only bugs n shit but other than that smooth. The spray gun is supposedly the same as the R500 I think that's what the original is called.
Yo trigger man back in the lab why don’t you come out with some T-shirts and bumper stickers,, merch,If you do make some T-shirts with your logos on the back ,,get you some potato chip money
All those guns (Rongpeng R500, Sprayit SP-33000, Eastwood from this video, A610...) are a lose copy of the classic Anest Iwata W400. They performs quite well, considering selling price.
Rongpeng Air Tools Co LTD is the maker of all these guns (R500, A610 & i believe the Eastwood Concours LT100 and others rebranded under various retail names). The Company was founded 25yrs ago and has grown to over 100,000 square meters (aprox 25 acres) of manufacturing space with more than 1,200 employees so its a serious manufacturing enterprise for sure and their quality has just got better over the years without the big price tag. In LVLP they make the W-400 (for clear & widest fan pattern) R830, R500 and the awesome R100 mini gun. All these guns are good. As to HVLP guns they make the R804, R803 and R802 which are also great guns. Don't get me wrong as i own Devilbiss guns and Sagola guns which are great, but Rongpeng is up there with them now for a fraction of the price and iam lately really digging the LVLP guns as less overspray and consume less paint for a high standard finish ( i now own an R500, R100 & 4 x A610's and a number of other Rongpeng guns in the collection)
Ion know about the "less overspray" part. All that history sounds good but so far every so called LVLP gun I've used has fogged up the booth 100 X more than my LPH which is a pretty low CFM compared to regular guns.
All the R500's, A610, Eastwood, Inokraft Drizzel, etc, are a copy of the Iwata W400. Which has been around for at least 10 years. You can use an Iwata W400 cap, nozzle, and needle in them all.

I bought the Eastwood gun. I have a 1969 Firebird that I want to paint along with the interior cab of my 1957 Chevy truck.
Well as you can see it is more than capable to get you some good results. Good luck 🍀🤞🏼
Laid glass! The air caps have always made a difference in the various R500 rebrands.
Something DIYers also need to think about is the overspray. Most of us spraying at home dont have an ideal exhaust system and that will alter how much you can turn the gun up and can still see what you're doing.
Good info on that cap!
Thank you man. Yes it's definitely a fogger, and you'll have to get up over 30psi if you want this thing to perform. 💪🏼
Thanks Triggerman for sharing your knowledge.

If I used my same technique with a new clear I'd probably have those "runs" things you mentioned. Takes me like a week or 2 to really dial in a product. So imagine 11 years with the same clear. 💪🏼

At Aliexpress this gun is known as the K-400, marketed as a LVMP gun. Gotta look out for the trigger o-ring seals though, mine got pinched, just replaced it with a new o-ring and it's good now.
Ok cool, good to know. I'm sure this comment will help some of our paint brothers out here. Thank you 💪🏼
Do you have to prep your cars? I wish I didn’t have to prep and just spray. Maybe one day lol I’m still painting boats. Have you tried the iwata ws-400 supernova? I’ve watched all your videos but I can’t remember.
Na man we have a prepper here. I don't mind prepping but they've had one since I've worked here. It's like there's not enough work for two painters but then it's too much work for just one painter so the prepper works out good. Still on those boats huh man? 😂
Yeah that makes sense. My work has 3 painters and 3 preppers. Yeah still on boats. We do welded in parts now in our big boats so that’s always fun.

Gun doesn't atomize at any lower pressure. The pressure I sprayed it is optimal for this particular gun
Hahaha!!! Loved this one..."Imma just gonna do what I'm told..eh eh eh." You still want to punch em in the head. Great video, great gun. I bought one too. Best small shop/DIY gun especially since I paint smaller motorcycle parts.
Yeah man, if only small motorcycle parts you got more than enough with this gun. I've knocked out while cars with it. Very nice gun
Goes back to my first lesson which is " learn your materials "
Then you will know how far you can push things whether it's base coat or clear coat stick to one material learn it front to back Then you will know how far you can push that material.
Here is a link for the gun with the upgraded cap all in one, great gun

Wow! That looks Bee U Tee Full, but you know there's a dent on that back bumper. Did you know that? 😁😂🤣
That Eastwood gun is the spitting image of an LPH-400.

@@EJ1James I actually have never heard of that gun I just looked it up when I saw your message The reviews on it look pretty good, If it's an Iwata It has to be fairly decent I'll keep my eye open if I can get my hands on one and give it a try.
@@thetriggerman954 appreciate the interest in the gun boss if you want I can lend you mine to try since we both in Broward just in case if you interested
Man my channel is so small. Who the hell would buy it 🤠🤣 I thought about it tho. Maybe once I get more subs.
I think you could paint a car with just putting the paint in an empty windex bottle.
😂😂😂😂😂😂🙌🏼 man you crazy 🤣
Now we cooking with gasssss

I bought the Vevor and now this one is better! Lol
Fuck!!!!
Na man you good with the Vevor. I still use that sucker every week. It's holding up good. Working flawlessly after 7 months now.
At least 10 years? try almost 20 years I had the W400 in 2007.
@@thetriggerman954 Careful, you're showing your age 😁
