Thank you for your kind words. We feel it’s important to show a balance of the highs and lows we go through during ultra distances. I was determined to get the job done as was prepared to suffer. Many people underestimate the importance of mental strength.

Yers I think we've learned now that Victoria will pretty much go to hell and back before she even thinks about giving up.
I have just watched this and OMG what a challenge. I will be turning 50 early next year and have just discovered the ultra distance. It was inspirational to watch.
If we put our mind to it, we can achieve far more than we initially thought possible. Happy birthday for next year!

Watching this while doing household tasks, starting to feel like dread at the idea of marathon training run. After a few unexpected tears I am dressed and ready to go. Thank you for the inspiration.

Wow....this was great guys. Victoria, that was mental. So inspiring! You're courageous allowing yourself to be recorded suffering like you were. (I think I would have thrown a few cameras in the Thames!) So happy you both achieved such a great goal with the Slam. No doubt that last race taught you a lot about yourselves in a really good way that very few will ever understand. Overcoming that brutal experience through grit and determination is life changing. My favourite part was Victoria holding those buckles up at the end. It seems so ridiculous doesn't it....but they represent blood sweat and tears....and vomit! Respect to both of you!
Thank you, much appreciated. It was all about how much I wanted the slam buckle and how much I was prepared to suffer. At times, it was a soul searching experience and so meaningful to complete as a couple.

Great respect to Victoria on her achievement. But even more respect to her not giving up whilst being ill for so long. I remember your Trans Vulcania video at La Palma (2018?) and at the airport you suggested a marathon the following year. Nope was the reply. Well done on you achievements. Both of you.

@@victoriac2134 Thats good, its well deserved considering you've had a busy year! Its the first time Ive felt kind of fresh all year 😂😂 after training/running/recovering.
When i finished I said never again as I was done, but now Im getting itchy feet as well. Its amazing how quickly your body forgets the pain and discomfort.
If it helps for stomach issues, I tried Caffeine Bullet Ginger Roars, they helped in the last leg for me! And I know Active root do some Ginger Chews as well!
Thanks for the recommendation. I keep seeing adverts for Active Root but will have a look at yours. If only we’d known about the Drymax socks earlier in the year! 🤣
@@victoriac2134 Worth a try, even if its for emergencies. Dont worry, my stomach decided it didnt like its contents at the top of the ridgeway before the descent into Goring. At least we get the full experience of Ultra running.
Ive hopefully got some more on order for Xmas, Will save them for next years jollies.

What an absolutely brilliant demonstration of grit and determination from Victoria, well done to both of you! I love that your videos show the real highs and lows. I am always at the back and among the last handful to finish any event I enter so I am well used to that. 2024 is going to be a year of ultras for me, hopefully culminating in January 2025 with my first 100 miler and I have to say that your videos have played a part in inspiring me to push beyond my comfort zone.

I did the SDW50 the same year as Victoria as my first ultra. To then run 100 miles on that route is amazing not only physically but mentally as you knew what was coming! The grand slam is such a fantastic achievement especially with all the obstacles you had to overcome. Well done both of you.

Oh guys this was all sorts of epic and the true grit and determination it took to get to the end of that race was something to see. I did feel like it was almost an anti-climax for you to finish by just rocking up to a back garden but the relief and joy you must have felt at completing not only that event but the grand slam would have over-ridden everything.

@@victoriac2134 thanks Victoria. Sadly had to DNF at the 50k checkpoint as I wasn't moving fast enough to have got to the next one on time. The hills and underfoot conditions were a bit more than I could cope with. But still got an ultra done so can't be too disappointed with that i guess. thanks for checking in :)

Incredible effort and a really great documentary video series. The absolute resilience and determination to get through that challenge is truly inspirational. Stark honesty and suffering doesn’t make easy viewing; but with all the adversity it’s the amazing will power and spirit to overcome the adversity that’s the lesson for us all. This channel has inspired most of my ‘back of the pack’ adventures over the last year and I promise to adopt the 'just go for it' mantra in 2024!

@@trailrunningphil it’s not always a mud bath. It just depends on the weather in the preceding weeks. The South Downs Way is my favourite and I think it’s an amazing first 100. But if you want a flat run then the A100 is probably your best bet. Flat doesn’t always mean easy though!
