Running her FIRST 100 MILES | with Oladance Earphones

- We teamed up with Oladance to run the Centurion Thames Path 100 mile race and to test out the remarkable battery life on the Oladance Wireless Earphones. It was my wife, Victoria's very first 100 miler and it's safe to say the weather conditions made for one heck of a journey from Richmond in London , past Hampton Court Palace, through Windsor on Coronation Day, Runnymede where the Magna Carta was signed in 1215, on to Henley at half way and Reading before arriving at Oxford.

Have you run the Thames path 100? How did you get on? Also do you wear headphones when you're running? Do you think you'd get on with the Oladance earphones?
I always wear headphones outside. I like my aftershokz
I don’t like headphones or music this should be a meditative tine for vyour self without stimulation or disrtraction good luck Vic and all I was keen to do an Uktra was walk the 10 km Souvtg Down’s path in the year of. My Stroje tgat would still be something I aspire to cibpkete even if I have cto gop! I would be defeated and I cannot be easily beaten down and or put off achieving things. Xxx

AWESOME. What makes it even more awesome is you doing it as a husband and wife team. What a special moment.
Thank you. We make quite a good team when running. We don't tend to argue much. We just get on with it. Fingers crossed we can get through the next one.
There are always big emotions at the end of these races - well-done, guys. Victoria rocks!
Victoria does indeed rock. I love her so much. On to the next one!
Hi, its David from the Start line. Thanks for including me in the film. also would like to say congratz to both on finishing, it was horrendous from 58 or so with all the mud!
That was certainly a baptism of fire for your first one!! Well done on getting it finished. On to the next one now!
Massive well done Victoria on your first 100 miler. 👏👏
She did so well. She's feeling rather pleased with herself.
someone is cutting onions here
Great teamwork👏 You had a plan and stuck to it; there's a lesson in that. Well done.
good lord guys, could this have come with a tear warning!? Brutal, epic and beautiful all in one go. I am in awe of anyone who can complete 100 miles, let alone in a cut off time. Ultimately you smashed it and Victoria, your "realness" on camera of how you really felt was heartfelt and a true testament to how hard you must have dug deep to get that done. HUGE well done!! x
Haha, hi Nic! Thanks for watching. If I had to put up with Victoria moaning at me for 28 hours I don’t see why you shouldn’t have to suffer too!! Ha. Only joking. To be honest Vic was moaning less than me by the end!!
@@FilmMyRun lol, so cruel! 🤣🤣
😢I had some tears escape, what a fantastic achievement especially doing those marathons before.
I did the Centurion A100 as my first 100 . Victoria has given me the inspiration to maybe take on the Thames Pathway 2024 - I will be 60 so maybe a "nice" way to mark the occasion 😊
Thanks Michelle. Sounds like a fabulous plan to do it when you’re 60
What a journey. Loved it
Cheers Paul. Good run for you as well. Well done Mr. Always a pleasure to see you!
I've got tears watching this. Absolutely amazing!!!! Victoria, I'm sure Ellis and Elsa are very proud of you and you should be too. I'm in absolute awe!!!! Brilliant, both of you
Thank you Amy. Elsa and Ellis were super proud as was I.
Incredible effort - that mud must have been soul destroying at times. Loved the 'ringing endorsement 'and I guess I need to try the ACDC secret weapon when things start to get challenging!
Oh my goodness you two! I'm not sobbing honestly!!!!
Come on Neil get a grip!! Haha. It was a bit emotional at the finish to be fair.
Absolutely fantastic video, anyone who wants to run a 100 miler should watch this first. Determination in adversity, just brilliant. Well done both of you, I'm sure you'll never ever forget it! Regards. Graham 🏃♂️🏃♂️
Thank you. I’m sure the memories will last a lifetime. I’m still having nightmares about mud! 😂
Thank you Graham, appreciated.
Great video. I finished in about 25hr15, having got to Henley in 10hr10 and with sensible run/walk pacing. The last 30 miles of mud was horrendous. Huge congratulations to both of you for finishing. It was my first 100 too, and watching Victoria's emotions play out in the video really hit home! ❤
Well done Neil. It was just a total grind for the night section. Just got to keep your head in the game. You got it done.
Well done!
Aww great video Stephen, I’m still teary eyed😂😂😂. Congrats to Victoria on her amazing achievement and still only 5 months into the year! Can’t wait to see what other races she has planned after a well deserved rest. Lovely to see Richard back.
Yes it’s great to have Rich back, although we didn’t see an awful lot of him!! He did just over 20 hours so a little way ahead of us!!
What an awesome achievement. Thank you for sharing this video. This run is on my bucket list for the future. Your grit and determination is inspiring.
You will love it Steve. Flat does not always mean east but it’s definitely worth doing
I was so glad not to get your bib handed to me at Clifton this year - and really happy you both made the finish in that brutal mud. Congratulations!
Oh mate that was a day I never want to relive back in 2019. I was so cold and my arse was broken!!!
Oh man pass the tissues ….. just incredible, honestly I can’t even imagine and off the back of 3 marathons - wow ….. hats off to Victoria 👊💥 and hats off to you stephen tfor making such a wonderful video all whilst running 100 miles urself and supporting Victoria - amazing the pair of you ❤
I honestly think the three marathons were basically good training runs for the 100. She did so well. Really proud of her.
Absolutely awesome! Congratulations Victoria on your first 100 miles! You are one tough cookie! 💪🏃🏼♀️👏
Loved this video, Huge kudos Victoria. And well done Stephen for passing the place where you dnf before 😉
Thanks Lee. Yea I was not in a good place that first time at Clifton Hampden!
Thames 100 is like my dream come true kinda thing and it's been since I've seen your video about it and when I first heard Victor Lundberg - In Bloom ❤ great to see that you two have such a lovely passion for running. Running unites ❤
I think you have to have the passion to enjoy it and be consistent.
Loved this! Well done Victoria 💛🧡💚
Amazing Victoria well done 👏
Way to go Victoria, excellent taste in music, ACDC!
Don’t start complimenting her taste in music!! I have to live with her you know!!
Fantatsic video, it really covered how difficult it was this year and that I wasnt over exagerating how much tougher the mud made it. Congrats to you and Victoria for pushing through.
Thanks Adam. It was so hard and we’ve now also done SDW 100 which was one of the hottest ever!!
Thank you 😊 that mud was the gift that kept on giving! 😂
Amazing, well done Victoria! Well done Stephen! Great video.
Thank Danny. on we go to the next one in the Grand Slam!
Im not crying your crying!!!! 😢😅 An amazing video but yeah, it may have put me off doing it!! Be interesting to hear her thoughts once the dust has settled and she has time to reflect and see how she feels about it afterwards. Nice one Stephen 👍
I was almost crying with relief at the end. It was a bit of a slog overnight! Vic has already said she understands why people go back and do these things again even though they hated it at the time!!
Thanks for making me cry at my desk!! Huge well done to you both but especially to Victoria for her first 100 miler. So strong 💪 and such determination 🎉
Hey, don’t blame me!! You shouldn’t be watching YT videos at work!! Come on get back to it! Haha.
@@FilmMyRun 🤣🤣🤣 you got me!! It’s all that gets me through the day 😁😁
Absolutely incredible. I've never seen such determination to finish despite being so tired and broken. Well done both 👍🏻🏃♂️
Thanks Mark. The girl dun good
Stephen, superb job in bringing the emotion and atmosphere of the race to screen. Last finisher in 2021 and never really wanted to go back to the dark, wet woods after Reading but it all came flooding back! Huge congrats to both and thanks for getting "Derek road" in! I looked out for it having seen your previous TP100 vid and giggled for the next few miles, forgetting the pain temporarily ☺️
Thanks Neil. We all love a bit of Derek Road! I mean who calls a road Derek?!!
Awesome 💥💥 Well done Victoria and Stephen 👏👏
Thank you Ben, hope you are doing well.
Great video !! Huge congratulations Victoria 💪💪💪💪. Oh and you too 😉
Cheers JC!!
Brilliant, pure emotion at the end! ps was marking for the uts again this weekend, hoping to get you through the sloppy mud again haha!
We will be back at UTS again possibly next year! Got to have a bit of a break from the mud!
Awesome video and congratulations to you both. I can’t imagine filming and commenting anything when this tired. One of my favorite videos on this channel!
That is amazing Nico thank so so much. It’s really appreciated.
Well done to Victoria on her first 100 great video
Thank you Patrick.
Wow! Outstanding .. thank you so much for sharing your journey, an amazing video. I blame you both for my growing fascination with ultras. I came across a live stream of the ARC in 2022 and was glued, and then ended up being an Arc Angel in 2023 at Lands End, this just fuels me more to step up and get out there .. very much look forward to seeing what is next for you, and congratulations Victoria on your 100miler finish, amazing.
Loved this video. I shed a few tears there at the end. Such a fantastic achievement. It was great seeing you "enjoy" the experience together!
Hi Elena! Thank you so much for being there for us. Sorry we were both a bit zoned out!! What have you got next?
@@FilmMyRun Never need to apologise for that, you'd just run 95 miles!!! Got Through the Darkness in July (nighttime 12k loops - Dartmoor) and then The Plague 😀, see you there?
@@elenaoutdoors Normally we would be there but unfortunately the Plague clashes with NDW100 this year. I’m sure we’ll bump into you somewhere!
Fabulous!! Amazing!!
Huge well done to you both, especially Victoria on your first 100miler!!
Even when I was a runner my biggest goal was a metric marathon (I 'only' got to a standard HM), I just couldn't imagine the immenseness of that distance!!!
I'll stop waffling now 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👟👟🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
Thank you 😊 with long distance ultras, it’s all about consistency and being able to build up endurance. In my opinion, depending on the effort, any distance can be hard.
Epic run Stephen. Good to see you finish the race this time! Congratulations to you and Victoria for pushing through the tough moments, taking it nice and easy, and smashing it. A pleasure to watch, as always, and you definitely capture the mental side of ultra running very well
I hope you're putting your entry in for next year!! Third time lucky, you'll get it done.
@@FilmMyRun I most certainly am, I won't be beaten and have learnt a lot. This video is really useful to see a totally different pacing strategy working successful. Best of luck for the rest of the slam mate!
It's a little but dusty in here! Huge congratulations to Victoria, that must feel amazing. I'm yet to do 100 miles. You could just sense the determination in Victoria. A great effort, fantastic film and congrats on kicking off your Grand Slam campaign Stephen.
Thanks Ian. Fingers crossed we can keep it going through the year.
well done guys on finishing. I find its always difficult not running your own pace. so well done :)
Thanks so much!
Congratulations to both of you! Mammoth effort!
Super congratulations to you both, amazing effort. Victoria is made of very strong stuff indeed! Well done
Thanks Si. Yes she is tougher than me these days for sure
Well that brought tears to my eyes! Bravo you two 👏. Fantastic video.
Thank Tina. The girl dun guud
Just great, Really inspirational, very many congratulations to both of you, but especially Victoria
Thank you John. What’s next for you?
@@FilmMyRun I was due to run the NDW 100 but had to postpone that. Hopefully I'll see you as a volunteer in August though
Fantastic achievement, looked brutal but you both dug deep and got it done, well done.🎉
Thanks Marc. I honestly think Vic was stronger than me in the final few kilometres!
Excellent !!!!!
I’m not crying you’re crying 😭
Great video Steve
Well done Victoria you smashed it lass!
Thank you Dan. We've just done the SDW100 now as well so I need to get on a edit that video. She did well.
@@FilmMyRun really look forward to that video mate. Got one of your favourites coming up soo. the plague 🤣 🥵
Absolutely brilliant coverage and very emotional, blinking bl..dy marvelous both of you, that mud through the night looked horrendous, many congratulations on your first and i would imagine toughest ever hundred challenge, flat is definitely not the easy option, 👍🤛🏃♀🏃
Thank you as always Jenny. Hope you are well. I think we are just about recovered and secretly I think Vic enjoyed it really!! Haha
@@FilmMyRun am sure she did, 😉crossing that line the best pain relief , 😊
Awesome, incredible and wow 👍💯
Thank you very much. Really appreciated
Oh well done Victoria, what an amazing achievement after so many races in close succession. What mental strength you have and what an inspiration you are. Another great video Stephen, thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind words Debbie. Victoria is inspiring me as well. She has such determination!
Thanks for that, great run, great vid.
Thank you so much!
Well done both if you! 🎉
Thank you Noname
Well done on completing it. Personally I can’t get on with listening to anything on headphones whilst running. Distracts me from concentrating! 😂
I’m not normally a headphone person to be honest, but they were kind enough to send them so it was no hardship to wear them for this one.
Well done Victoria 👏🎉
Thank you! 😊
I’m not crying, you’re crying!!!
Félicitations à tous les deux, vous êtes des guerriers ! J'ai adoré votre film, riche en émotions. Quel courage, quel exploit ! Impressionnant. Respect.
Congratulations to you both what an epic adventure for Victoria’s first 100 and on the back of 3 marathons! The ability to share adventures with my wife is one of the key things that keeps me running. Look forward to the rest of the grand slam.
I do love that Victoria got into running and she’s now running all the same events as me which is awesome.
Fantastic 🎉🥳 well done to you both ❤
Thanks Stephen
Stephen & Victorious Victoria Well To Both Love ❤️ With Support
Thanks Andy
What a beautiful and touching film!
100 miles not 26miles within the time limit, it seems really tough and difficult. But you did it.
Congratulations again to both of you.
Thank you for sharing us this wonderful video.🙏
Thank s Yoko. It was a tough day with so much mud but Victoria was amazing.
Pretty sure that is me with the red bag that you guys stroll past at about 18.50. Brings back some horrible/brilliant memories!!
Congratulations!
Did you get it finished? I think you must have managed to get in on time…so I’m going to say well done for grinding it out!
@@FilmMyRun yes just! 20 minutes before the cut off!!!!!
Well done!
How lovely and inspiring:) Thank you
Thank you Ken.
Well done. What a great effort. Congratulations on finishing. Though the amazing achievement started to get lost for me because of the abundance talk about the headphones. It was a little bit to much. Nevertheless, again, congratulations to both of you finishing the race.
Amazing achievement for you both considering the DNF rate. Well done Victoria on your first 100. Inspirational and great video as always 👏👏💪🏃♀️🏃♂️
Thanks Steve. She’s really proving she has the mentality for these long races.
Thank you 😊 After watching our experience, hopefully you still want to do TP100!
@Victoria C Not at all. If anything I'll be speaking to you for advice and thoughts 😄
Superb story telling! Well done to ye both.
Appreciate that Ron, thank you.
Very well done to you both. 👏 I hate the mud.
Oh my, I hate the mud too!! I have no idea why I do these things!!
Awesome, loved it, well done both 👍
Thank you so much Simon
Oladance for the win
Did you notice we were wearing Oladance earphones? I’m not sure I mentioned it in the video…
@@FilmMyRun yes I did. Congratulations on the run and You both did a wonderful job
Brilliant 👏👊
Thank you!!
Everything Hurts! Should be the brand name for Ultra Runners apparel
Ok that is actually not a bad idea!
Best ever video you've ever done. Loved that so much and like i said on facebook, a super well done to you both. The TP100 is strangely my favourite race and this year for the first time in ages i decided to opt out of it and glad i did 😉. I still cant get over how muddy it was! No wonder so many dnf'd, but you two didn't and thats what makes those buckles so special. Respect.
That’s really kind of you to say Andy thank you. There’s a strange attraction to TP100. I much prefer hills but that’s three times on the start line of TP now so I must like it in a way!!
Congratulations to both of you 🙂
Thank you! How are you doing at the moment?
@@FilmMyRun I’m good thanks for asking, family life and work has been getting in the way of training a bit but I’m planning to do the shorter Thames path challenge again (100k) this year 🙂
Absolutely amazing. Well done both of you!
Thanks as always Nono
EPIC!
Thank you Gary. That was not the word Victoria used at the end!!!
I'm part the way through your vlog, when you called Victoria....when you asked Siri to call her my home Apple Pod said that that function wasn't supported....SPOOKY! Now back to both of your journeys.
haha!! Whenever we watch it, my phone calls Victoria again!
Heroic effort ❤❤
I don’t know about heroic from me. I was being dragged along by Vic at the end there!! Thank you!
Amazing effort both of you! Great video 🎉 was quite emotional watching the finish!
Thank you so much for watching! Victoria is going to try and complete four 100 milers this year. We've managed two but the next one will be a toughie.
@@FilmMyRun best of luck to Victoria for that! 😊
Thank you 😊
Brilliant to watch well done to both of you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Cheers Jake! Do you have any races on the horizon?
Great video. Well done Victoria 🎉
Thank you Ross. She did amazingly well. It was tougher than expected with all the mud
Awesome...❤
Cheers Pat. Appreciated.
been looking forward to watching this one 👍😊
Thanks Jason. Got to get the SDW100 video edited now!
Such an epic story! I’m welling up here😂 It’s wonderful to see you both be able to run these kinds of events together 🧡 well done Stephen and Victoria!! I’ve always wondered about the TP100 - it seems easy because it’s flat, but every account I’ve seen of it looks so difficult!! See you at the NDW100 in a few months 👍
Thanks Mike. Yes we will definitely be on that start line this year! NDW arguably the toughest of the lot I reckon.
Great video Stephen & Victoria. Sadly I won't be doing this one as the Tea @15:25 looked like dishwater! Not good for a Northerner. 🤣
I am totally with you. If you can't get a decent cup of tea on an ultra then there's simply no point in standing on the start line.
Fantastic running and perseverance. Any top tips for someone doing their first 100 in 3 weeks time Victoria?
Thank you. My top tips are to look after your feet and your stomach. I experienced issues with both! Good luck with your 100!
Layers and layers of inspiration from both of you - which is a standard Cousins thing. After 3 marathons in three different countries and then this - epic! By the way did I see you have some new headphones? 😉
Headphones, headphones….no. No I didn’t see any new headphones anywhere!! Oh hang on THOSE headphones, yes well spotted. Do you think I should have mentioned them in the video??
Well done Super women 💪💪
Thanks……wait you mean Victoria don’t you….
@@FilmMyRun Actually well done both of you that's amazing
Who sponsored the video? Ha ha, great video and Victoria is a real inspiration.
I’m sure I mentioned the sponsor once or twice no???!!
Thank you! 😊
A marvellous achievement! Well done for completing an incredibly tough challenge, and for sharing it with us! I hope you're both feeling much better now and that Victoria is recovering well. The question is: Will she sign up for another one?
Appreciate that Chris. I will be at the start line of the SDW100…..as for Victoria, we’ll let’s just wait and see
@@FilmMyRun Random question for SDW. Is it trail or road shoe terrain? I'm thinking trail but haven't been there before.
@@chrisarnell1 hey Chris. It totally depends on the weather. I will be wearing my Hoka Speedgoat 5s regardless but if it’s a dry day you could get away with road shoes definitely. It’s mostly hard pack path or grassy soft trail. Only a slight chance of mud in some sections.
@@FilmMyRun Thank you! I'm going out there this weekend - Winchester to Brighton hopefully.
I missed Richard 😂 I was wondering what happened to him.
He’s back!! He’s been injured for almost 2 years! But we think he’s over it now. Fingers crossed he’s back for good.
I love watching these videos. I found Victoria’s steely determination so wonderful and inspiring!
I have a question: I started running January 2022 aged 45. I recently did my first two marathons - Manchester 3:35 and Leeds 4:11 (hilly, hot, so tough). I have a couple of 50k ultras in the summer then Thames 100 kilometre in sept.
If all that goes ok, do you think it’s too soon to give the Thames 100 miler a bash in 2024? I’m excited to try but also trying to be sensible as I want running to be a lifestyle for the rest of my life.
Thanks so much and, again, huge congratulations👍👍👍
Hey Conrad! Thank you for your kind words. If all your plans go ok then yes I think you could give the 100 a try. You’ll have had some experience of the flat nature of the path with the 100k so hopefully you’ll have worked out a strategy for dealing with it. It’s not the easiest 100 miler and deserves your respect. But I’m sure you can give it a shot in 2024.
@@FilmMyRun I’ll see how the 100k goes. Excited tho! You and Victoria have inspired me
@@FilmMyRun which leads me to wonder… which is the ‘easiest’ 100 miler?!
Stephen’s PB is at SDW100. He assures me that course is easier than TP100!
@@victoriac2134 how can that be?! Aren’t there, like, loads of hills?! 😂
I'm not 100% sure, but did you get some new earphones? 😂
TP100 was hard work, the mud was a bit of a mare and I picked up an injury which meant I had the hike the last 13 miles. Made it in just under 24hrs, but reckon I'm about 50:50 for SDW100 so the slam may go out the window. May see you at Matterley Bowl...
Did I not mention the new headphones?? I was sure I had. 😂
Anyway I hope you make it to the start of SDW!
@@FilmMyRun hopefully! Congrats to Victoria on her finish, she toughed it out. Many didn't!
Well done. I hope you’ve recovered well and get to the start line of SDW100.
Wow that's alot of mud 😕
Mud? Oh I didn’t notice any…..
Hey guys, congratulations!!! As an Australian coming come over to do this next year, did you find the course well marked? I won't have a pacer. Are there enough runners around to not feel too alone? Thanks in advance.
Hi Jane. Centurion races are always extremely well marked yes. I will be volunteering next year so I will see you there. There will be plenty of runners around although it won’t feel crowded apart from at the start.
Thank you so much for the info. I'm a bit worried about running through the night and getting lost, but hopefully I can join up with other runners during this time. Hope to you see you out there. 😊
@janerushton2324 thank you 😊 As Stephen said, the course is well marked. However, I think it would be easy to buddy up with people for the night section. Good luck, I hope you enjoy the route.
Hi Stephen, quick question. I'm contemplating doing my first 100 mile event in 2025. Out of all the Centurion 100's on offer which one would you recommend would be the best to do first? I'm looking at the TP 100 and the SDW 100 as my top two however I'd appreciate your feedback from all your experiences. Thank You 🙂 And a MASSIVE well down to Victoria she really is inspirational!
Defiiitely SDW100. Better scenery, better weather, better terrain underfoot. Easier to break up into walks and runs than a flat race.
@@FilmMyRun Thank you so much for getting back to me. I did this years 50 for the first time and swore I'd never do it again 🤣 However I'm already getting that bug to go again 🤣
@paulmulks thank you for your kind words. If it’s any consolation, SDW50 2022 was my first 50. On the last climb, I knew I never wanted to attempt 100 miles! 😂 I agree with Stephen, SDW100 is the nicest. Also, you’ve done the 50 so know what to expect in the second half. Good luck!
