@weeatpizza7806 My father was an officer for 40 years in California. I knew his colleagues once I got older. His good friend in the force was involved in some things with his boss's wife and knew how corrupt the department was (police brutality, planting drugs, etc) My father was on the scene when his friend got ambushed and his hip dislocated by inmates.
The story went that his boss put the guy in charge of several inmates and he got hurt. My father was a bit upset about it seeing his colleague hurt like that.
"Didn't want him to talk" my father told me once. Obviously, in regards to what he knew about the corruption going on and the possibility of snitching about it.
I honestly felt that he was ambushed to get rid of him once it was found out that he was messing around with someone's lady.
Last I heard about him was that he had 4 hip replacements from the damage and left the force after the incident.
There are more stories, but that's just one that I personally knew of when it happened.
