The heartrate slows as the necessary supply to keep things supplied has dwindled. Sin causes so much pain too. Horrific and leads to hell. None are good, not one but God. Repentance and being a willing vessel for God is the closest thing to being good and still won’t be considered good because you’d have to be clothed in Christ before God to be seen as God made you to be but many reject that. Murderers destroy lives but sin destroys souls. Sadly, many allow it and never seek to be whole in Christ and the result is this fallen world of evil people. None are good. But God. Love your enemies, everyone needs a Saviour. No one has ever thought it easy to love their enemies, save God’s strength to show them how.

As a 16 year old junior in highschool, 17 next month I can say that this is a constant fear I carry with me, during drills and casually in hallways, when I hear some conversations between students etc. it is sickening and it is terrifying. I don’t know about anyone else but at least for me I can’t go to school without thinking in the back of my mind that something horrible is gonna happen. We’ve gotten bomb threats, shooting threats and I remember during my sophomore year we had a hold in place that lasted 3 hours, teachers were panicking, students were either panicking or saying everything was fine and I remember tears falling down my cheek while spam texting my bf at the time who was down the hallway in the cafeteria thinking that one of us or both of us were gonna die. It ended up just being a threat as far as the student body is aware but there are rumors of a gun being found in the bathroom, Of a suicide note being there with it, of e-mails being sent to administers, etc. everything ended up being “okay” but that feeling cannot be shaken. For all we know it could’ve been an animal loose in the school but this generations brain instantly goes to shooting and reasonably so. I can only imagine the fear and pain and anger coursing through the brains of the victims to incidents like this and the trauma to the family of these victims aswell. I have more to say but I don’t know what words to use I don’t even know if what I’m typing makes sense but what I do know is students deserve to feel and know that they are safe in their school environments. They shouldn’t have to go to school to fear for their lives or not go to school out of the fear for their lives. Things need to change.

Rarely does a mass shooter/school shooter live to even see their court date, and be given their fate like this.
I remember watching this shooting right after it happened on the news, and seeing kids still inside posting to their social media accounts, and being scared so bad, still hiding, praying the shooter didnt come in their classroom next. Their dead friends, and teachers laying in pools of blood right next to them, waiting on officers to come get them. Then being taken out of the classrooms in lines from the police hurrying outside being told KEEP YOUR EYES UP, DON'T LOOK DOWN... Because they were crossing over dead students/teachers in the middle of the halls. I watched this for days after for some reason, and it bothered me so long, and I live states away.
    It was super sad.

I had no idea he shot some of the kids 8-14 times -- that's an incredible amount of cathartic rage. Not that it's any better, but I had always thought he sprayed gunfire around randomly, and maybe a few kids were hit more than once due to proximity. But shooting an innocent child 14 times is an utterly grotesque level of evil and rage. Perhaps he saw these kids living their seemingly perfect lives with friends and parents who loved them, while he had lost his mother, had no friends, and felt like the world unfairly rejected him. But that doesn't excuse nor explain how someone could be capable of this. When a person exhibits evil on this level, he loses his right to life, and society should not be burdened by the cost of his existence any longer than absolutely necessary.

So many layers to the creation of this monster of a human....definitely a great example of how many opportunities to prevent this outcome were ignored. I hope at the very least we can learn from this and raise awareness on behaviors' that should NOT be ignored in children, and young adults. What an absolute tragedy in various ways.

@@thetruthdatedr.4766 That is not how the psychology works in these scenarios. There's a study that I read a few years back about these things, the name of the study would translate to "white rage." (it hasn't been translated into english yet) Meaning a sort of passive rage or hatered against what the subject would define as a group. In this scenario it was a high school. And the cause of these events is not the person, it's the events that the person has gone through, shootings are just the effect.
You have to keep in mind here that Nikolas had been suffering from ADHD, depression and autism, he never saw his real parents, his last adoptive parent died only 3 months before the shooting.
You can probably guess that an autistic ADHD kid wasn't probably treated very well in school by other students. In my opinion the cause of this shooting was childhood trauma and bullying amplified and probably at least to some degree caused by his mental disorders. And when you're mentally sort of pushed into a corner, you don't care much about who you take your hatred out on. In his mind, the people who hurt him, and the place where he felt the pain became one entity, and he took his anger out on it. It didn't matter to him if the same people no longer studied there.

Cannabis has been known to exacerbate underlying psychosis. This is actually where cannabis originally started to become frowned upon. Harry Anslinger of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics wrote out to 31 experienced scientists asking them if cannabis should be criminalized. 30 of the scientists wrote back saying cannabis isn't known to be harmful and there would be no reason to criminalize the substance. 1 lone scientist wrote back claiming it was dangerous and that the drug should be criminalized because of a story about a latin teen in Florida who butchered his family. I forget the kids name, but he had prior run ins with the authorities because of mental issues. The police told the family to send him into a psych ward to receive treatment, but the family refused their suggestion and opted to take care of him themselves. Based on the noted symptoms, the kid was exhibiting schizophrenia and he had a particularly bad reaction one night when he got high on cannabis. He took a machete and butchered everyone in his household. The story went public and instead of acknowledging all the facts in the case, the media, with the help of Anslinger, pushed the narrative that cannabis made minorities go insane. This is how the term "Marijuana" started to become popular and the delusional believe that it made the latins and blacks violently insane. The illegalization of cannabis was based on racism and bigotry. Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in since cannabis was being talked about.
