Highlights from Stream: Memory Block 4
This was streamed millenia ago and the files were lying around in my computer. I finally decided to go over them and found some cool moments that I really enjoyed. Getting a new monitor on Tuesday so I won't be making too much content until then, but when it arrives everything will look a lot nicer, both for me and for you.

00:52 LMAO I love the physics in the first AC games. This was such a common thing in the Ezio games as well. xD
What makes this scene even funnier is that you can hear a guard say in pretty broken German: "Do you really think god cares about what happens to you?" LUL
YEAH haha. They work fine at 30fps too which is big funny.
That quote is jokes. Altair: "Oh hells no, why this...?!"
@@LeoKRogue Yeee I remember playing AC Revelations for the first time on PC and at 60 FPS, all bodies would kinda sink in slow motion after Ezio jump- or air-assassinates them. Classic Ubisoft. Goldenboy
That ledge grab will go down in history

Shakespeare with a pen < You with AC
you have NO idea the way I just burst out laughing 4:48 I mean MY DEAR GOD you're like " uh..thanks personal space" and the way Altair *gentle* pushes the guy HARD LMAO damn XD
hahahaha
0:17 wait what
There's THIS move in the first game?
6:14 again wtf
Same here, I had no idea that speed vaults and dive rolls were in the game.
You perform a vault if you step onto something and you’re about to step onto something else. Right as you step up, hold the empty hand button.
I enjoyed for the most part, this is some great gameplay!
Thanks. ^__^
4:52 Social distancing, bro.
REAL!
damn I wanna play this game again now, seems to hold up pretty well
It does, for the most part. The better you are at it the smoother it'll feel. When I get my new monitor on Tuesday I'm interested in making like some kind of advanced knowledge guide on the game.
@@LeoKRogue you should! also have you ever considered making ranking videos on the games, protagonists etc?
Other people generally pull off Ranking/List vids much better than I could, I also have no interest in doing it. If I'm going to examine a game I usually go in and examine just that one game or character or system I'm thinking about, and at most contrast it against two or three others.
Huge lists and rankings are not something I think my audience would watch very much, as well. Unless people were just really really curious about my feelings on various games and characters xD
@@LeoKRogue Fair enough. I like seeing other people's opinions on AC because it is quite divided. What would your top 5 games in the series be?
AC1, AC2, AC Brotherhood, AC Revelations, AC3
Man I forgot how cold Malik was in this game, granted it's a deserved response but jeez.
It's amazing.
Took like half a minute to be solidly charmed yet again by ac1
In my mind, Altair is still the Best Assassin. He's my personal favorite, alongside Arno, and Connor.
I feel the same; Altair is my favorite.
@@LeoKRogue I feel Altair is unique out of all the other Assassins mainly because he became extremely wise, learning from both his allies and his enemies, and his philosophical views shaped the future of the Assassin Order. People praise Ezio to where I find him very overrated, and they forget, Altair was the one who majority brought the ideals of the Modern age of the Assassins into the forefront, yes, Bayek and Aya founded the Order, but Altair made a huge impact, and his leadership had the most influence.
I love ac 1 Npc Lines, The Are Great!!!
They're sooo fun to listen to.
4:47 Leo doesn't like commitment lol
LMAO. Dude is stepping into my space like he knows me gggett ouuutttt hahaha
Something you guys probally dont know is that you can actually do a sort of corner jump in stands
This works in brotherhood and I think AC 2
I'm not sure if I know about it or not because I actually don't know what you're referring to. Can you give me some examples, so I can see if I'm aware of it?
@@LeoKRogue you know the stalls that you can dive roll through??
If instead of going straight through like you were dive rolling
enter through the middle area you will pull yourself through to one on the other sides.
Im not sure if you can do this in AC brotherhood as most of the stalls are designed against dive rolljmg, but you can do it in AC 2 and I assume AC1 aswell.
Yup!
0:17 and more... HOW????
This is how! :D

@@LeoKRogue thanks bro, and yes love ur vid (y)
Alright. Yes. Mm gameplay good. Yes a good game
Mmmmmm
Have you ever done the eagle strike in this game? It would be cool if you made a video on that.
I have. No videos yet though.
Damn, This game looks really good even for an old game.
It does. AC1 is interesting, something about its visual style makes it timeless, whereas a game like AC2 looks blatantly outdated by comparison. Not sure how they achieved it, but I would put my bets on sorcery of some kind. v_v
6:44 Real Smooth and Satisfying kills :D
Always a pleasure to stab while unseen v_v
@@LeoKRogue Will you go back to the game and take in more glory Leo? It would be fun to see you wield the blade again as Altair
I have a big AC1 project coming in the next two months.
@@LeoKRogue Nice dude, looking forward to it :D
2 things, 7:44 dive rolls???!! 8:56 nice
Glad you liked those moments haha
how do you drop into a buro like that?
It's a bit tough, you have to do a Grab input while you're just about to drop off the edge so that Altair falls straight in. Or, you can stand on a nearby railing and just hold High Profile + Forward toward the hatch.
A question. I've heard some say that going over a certain FPS in the older AC games "breaks" the games or the physics. What exactly does it mean??
A variety of things. But the most common example is it basically turns Haystacks 'solid.'
So, when you do a Leap of Faith, landing in the Haystack kills you at certain framerates that are way above 60.
@@LeoKRogue that sounds super funny. Any other examples?
After all these years, AC1 is still my favourite AC. I know it's objectively the worst when it comes to graphics and maybe even gameplay, but its story, dialogue, atmosphere make me love it this much.
Mine too. I wouldn't even call it the worst graphically, when you compare AC1 to some of the later ones, it still looks visually stunning due to the development decisions they made while creating it. It's kind of striking, honestly. As for gameplay, it's tough to judge, really. In so many ways, AC1 is the only "true" Assassin's Creed game, and it does certain things _way_ better than any other game in the series did ever again. The dialogue though, my god. It's incredible, I don't even think some movies and some books reach this layer of meaning.
@@LeoKRogue I am so glad to get a response from the legendary Leo!
Anyway, yeah, I agree with you so much! And I was so happy to know that this is your favourite AC, because AC1 is underrated, I feel. Many AC fans view AC2 as the best.
The dialogue is definitely incredible! I don't mind and maybe I don't even notice the repetitiveness of some aspects of the game just because I always look forward so much to what my Templar targets, the Assassin bureau heads, and Al Mualim will say. I just love listening to them, you know? I am even very interested with Vidic, Desmond and Lucy.
AC1 is also very linear and focused, compared to later ACs. It does not have much sidestuff to do and does not have much open-world-y aspects to it, I feel. To many, that's a turn off, but I actually loved its linearity. What is your opinion on that, Leo?
I think that how Minimalist, how Focused of a game Assassin's Creed 1 is, makes it much stronger. It'd maybe be a more _fun_ experience if it were stuffed with more distractions and diversions, but also a _weaker_ experience for it. This is Altair's day-job. It's not supposed to be "fun," it's supposed to be _work._ Assassin's Creed 1 has more in common with Death Stranding than with the more recent AC games. They're both games that aren't meant to be "fun," but they're powerful, philosophical, and engaging nonetheless.
@@LeoKRogue Wow, that's a good and accurate way to describe it! Yeah, I definitely agree with you. I guess I am weird that I "enjoy" more the things that are minimalist, powerful and engaging. I suppose I'm the type of gamer that's not very fond of many sidequests, loot and large open worlds to explore.
Anyway, will you be purchasing AC Valhalla, Leo? If you are, I would love to know your thoughts about it and I am definitely interested to watch a game review from you, although that might not be your usual type of content. I heard they're bringing back social stealth and other Assassin-y stuff.
Yeah, I'll be streaming Valhalla on twitch.tv/LeoKRogue/ ^_^
I prefer more focused experiences as well, to be honest.
videogames
Wow...that’s a really hot take
is it just me or does altair move a lot smoothly than ezio?
He does.
Why the hell are they speaking german? I never played that game
Each City's guards speak the language of that Army at the time. AC1 was extremely committed to historical accuracy, more than any of the rest of the franchise. It also has the least differences between game and history, and the most research went into making it. There are obviously diversions (like the specifics of Assassins and Templars, as well as the Piece of Eden) but it's mostly quite solid. It's really cool!
