I can see huge links between sensitive personality types and skin issues / inflammatory skin conditions. It’s crazy also that ‘psychogenic itch’ is triggered by the nervous system in response to stress or heightened emotional state. Like yourself, I can probably relate to 80% of the personality traits. I am very sensitive to loud noises, I’m extremely empathetic towards others and always try to help people - to the point where I find myself typing out advice on forums to people regarding issues I feel I can help with, I definitely hang on to arguments for way too long and even when I was a child.. I was a bit distracted all the time / sort of presented traits of ADHD / Hyperactivity so I sometimes got told off by a teacher and I would think about being told off for a really long time to the point where I’d feel like I wanted to cry for ages. I was never naughty, just in my own world staring out of windows or chatting to other people haha. I was never a shy child though - I did a lot of drama / singing / stage but that said I did quit due to anxiety when I was about 19 - becoming very self aware and conscious to perform in front of people. I think I come across as though I take criticism well but in my head I’m like “wow I can’t believe you think that” haha. It’s so funny you said chicken and egg situation because I was preparing to say just that! They generally say that stress / sensitivity can make eczema a vicious cycle because stress causes flare ups but then the flare up causes stress and so on. It’s so hard fo break. I went through TSW starting 2 years ago and now I still have eczema that I’m trying to get rid of… prior to this many years ago I also suffered with a long bout of eczema that eventually went away when I began meditation and generally stopped trying to control everything in my life. I am also very sensitive to caffeine / sugar / stimulants in general and I find my skin behaves better when I am committed to cutting them out. Sorry for the long response x

I would definitely say my life long skin issues with eczema and hives and all these weird rashes I get all over my body had made me become someone who’s got really REALLY low self esteem. To the point that I do not want to bring my misery to others by dating anyone. Although on the surface level I don’t show that thought to ppl. In fact, I love posting about my life and selfies on instagram but always would use filters and not being in bright lights. I don’t like going to social settings even tho I’m so much into that social life but because of my skin I’m super conscious of myself. I was actually a very out there kid but was always conscious of my eczema skin. I do not like it. I wish I can stop feeling this way but my skin just keeps putting me down…but I don’t also want to rely on cortisone creams (cos I stopped it years ago) but am seriously considering going back on them as I have just started taking antihistamines recently.

For sure, eczema on my hands has affected my mental health in a negative way but it's also helped me to become more empathetic. Could you potentially do a video on how eczema affects the quality of your life and how to not let it dictate your life?

It's super tough :( but not letting your self worth be defined by your skin is going to be so valuable for you and make you so strong. It takes a lot of work, but it's worth it

This is such an interesting video. Thanks Ully. I definitely feel my skin gets more itchy and prone to breakouts when i am stressed but whether living with a chronic condition makes you more sensitive is an interesting concept too

Hi there! When my skin was very severe I didn't use anything on it at all. Once it started getting a bit better I gradually incorporated more products but all the while checking in to make sure my skin was ok with it
