What I'm doing to prevent eczema and allergies in my baby
I filmed this video a few months ago, only just getting round to uploading it now! Eczema and allergies are often passed down in families so to reduce the risk and prevent eczema in my baby, these are the tips I'm following as recommended by doctors. Evidence has shown that these simple lifestyle changes can greatly reduce the risk of babies or children to develop allergies and related skin problems, although no guarantees and always seek medical advice.
Chapters:

01:13 What we know about allergies and eczema
03:21 Protecting baby's microbiome
05:48 Developing baby's microbiome
08:32 Other lifestyle factors

For angular cheilitis, what do you think of Nystatin? It’s a prescription, it’s fairly inert as far as side effects according to Medscape, but I’d rather avoid using it if something else works just as effectively. I know petroleum jelly (Vaseline) is a useful prophylactic, but to actually get rid of it…is a tiny dab of tea tree oil every few days too much of an irritant? I’m thinking of using tea tree on one corner and Clotrimazole 1% (antifungal) on the other. Does this sound about right? Thank you for your work! ❤

I get my worst flare ups in the summer. Mine starts out “wet”. Very inflamed streaks that turn into huge patches of puffy itchy red inflamed skin. Then it sort of “scabs” over into a drier rash. Covers my back of knees, inner elbows, my back, my breast, stomach, and mouth….I had a mental break down today (lack of sleep from severe itching and burning) and went to the urgent care for a steroid shot and cream. This disease is exhausting.

The only thing I dislike about your video is hearing how long it took to heal! I may not live long enough (LOL). I'm 79 and going through the worst case of eczema I have ever had or ever could have imagined. After having a very bad case on my foot and leg, plus swelling, it started up on my eyes, then all over my face and lips. No kind of lip balm works. And good old vaseline seems to work better than any very expensive "eczema creams" (I spent $50 for 1.7 oz of cream that was supposed to be wonderful. NOT!). I have changed my diet, also found that I had a bacterial infection (which came first? The chicken or the egg?). My facial swelling did go down after taking the antibiotic, but came back again. Very frustrating situation. I've always had dry skin from living in a high altitude, dry environment, but always had good skin (especially on my face). Yikes. Worst type of thing you can suffer with. Thank you for making this video. I hope it can help me.

Gosh so sorry to hear you are going through this at your life stage! Not ideal... could it be something in the air/water? I really enjoyed watching this video and completely resonate with your perspective of functional medicine. I, too, suffer from eczema and am going through my second experience of TSW so I’m trying to heal 100% naturally. I’m curious, how’s your eczema doing and did you ever go through TSW? How’s everything during pregnancy? My fiancé and I are discussing getting pregnant within the next couple of years because we are both nearing 37 years old but I’m definitely nervous about eczema flares during pregnancy and postpartum. Thanks for making your videos and sharing your experiences with us!

Hey ! thanks so much for your comment :) so my skin got way worse at the beginning of pregnancy (1st tri) but by the 3rd tri my skin was amazing! I'm now 5 months postpartum and the skin is not quite as good (still better than it has been) but very manageable with moisturiser. I did use some steroids here and there though and 'tapered down' whilst managing as much as I could with lifestyle. TBH the main thing affecting the skin at the moment is the hormones and the lack of sleep (which makes me crave sugar...). But it's not so bad and you should definitely go for it because baby makes it totally worth it :)

Hello dear. I have a lifelong battle with topical dermatitis and extremely difficult psoriasis. I was plant based all my life until 6 years ago I went to the carnivore way of eating. Much to my surprise it was the missing link. I recently had an auto immune blood test and I do not have any auto immune! I did have a flare up and I have realized that I am not handling dairy. Other than that I am a lot better now. Also, check into getting a test from Gay Brecka to see if you have the MTHFR gene. Nevertheless, the carnivore is super easy and causes much healing for the whole body and mind. I appreciate your video and I wish the best in life. Congratulations on your pregnancy. Cheers!

I know this video is from 3 years ago but I went to have my roots done 06/03/2024. When it was done last time decided to grow my highlights out so I went with my natural brown colour within a very slight tint of red in it. It turned out lovely. I went in today to ask for the same. The hairdressser went to mix up the colour and when she came back I thought that colour looks really red. As she started to put the colour on I was horrified as how the colour was developing. When she shampooed and conditioned my hair 8 went back to my seat. She towel dried my hair and my hair was completely red all over. I really was panicking so she said she would do it again using a flat brown over the top. So I sat for another 45 minutes in the chair. Had it washed again and when the towel was removed I felt sick. I cried. I had no apology at all. I said I could not pay for this as she has made this huge error. I am making a complaint to the shop when I have cooled down. I would love your opinion. My hair is naturally mid brown.

Completely stopped using lip balms and any other lip products except for castor oil for past two weeks after watching this video and the eczema and itchy red patches i would get in the corners of my mouth and the top of my lip are gone after about 2 years of having it. My lips are dryer than normal and its really hard not to pick at my lips bc its peeling like a snake but its not my skin around my mouth anymore, its just my lips. I do pick at my lips a fair amount but i am trying to stop bc i know its not helping. My lips dryer and scalier than they used to be so I'm doubling the amount of water i drink everyday and then applying a tiny bit of castor oil maybe 5-8 times a day which i will be cutting back on as time progresses.

UPDATE: i started this on the 18th of Feb 2024, its now 1 April 2024. Can say that I haven't had itchy eczema inflamed lips/around lips since that day after literally 2 YEARS of it since i stopped using all products except for castor oil. I have reduced the amount I use from 5-8 times a day to maybe 1-5 times a day as needed. Drinking lots of water. And staying away from foods that I feel like inflame my lips like spicy foods, or overly salty foods. My lips get dry sometimes but usually it is an indicator that i haven't drunken enough water that day. Super important not to lick my lips, and when i do accidentally lick my lips i will wipe off the saliva asap. Also the peeling on my lips is not as drastic as when i first started doing this. Almost like a new layer of skin. I introduced lip liner at one stage during this month and it was okay, no reaction. But trying not to do this too much and just rocking natural lips with castor oil bc the castor oil almost just looks like nice glossy lip gloss. I feel scammed spending hundreds of dollars on skin specialists and eczema friendly products just for none of it to work, and this being the little $10 trick that saved me. Will update again.

It's been a week Im not using any balms or moisturizer. First 5 days were terrible. Dry cracking bleeding lips. Now bit better. Castor oil didn't work for me. I applied ghee on my lips every night and it helped a bit. I still have redness on my lips it's itchy and flakes comes out all the time. But I trust the process and i feel a bit better than before. I'll share my weekly update.

I spent a fortune on similar tests and it definitely didn’t help me solve skin issues.Good news if they helped you get pregnant though😀The supplements didn’t help either and were expensive as well.I now only follow Anthony William to heal slowly getting there. Quick question what foundation do you use if any?

100% and I think it’s important to go into it being realistic about what the results might be. But the baby was def a nice bonus :)
