That was really interesting! 👍 I've been learning about gut microbiome and having a skin microbiome that interacts with our physiology makes perfect sense. I'm currently using the 'gladskin' cream in an effort to target any staphylococcus aureus overgrowth as I have some really stubborn areas of eczema. Too early to know if it's helping yet. If the microbiome is a delicate balance maybe just wiping out staphs isn't the best approach 🤷 who knows!? Time will tell 😊🤞
Would be great to get details of the studies you mentioned. Like, realistically I'm going to skim read the conclusion/summary, but even so, I would love to do that!

Hello! I know right it’s so interesting! It’s really made me look at my skin differently, I’d be so keen to be involved in some of the trials they’re doing on it at the mo.
And gosh yes thanks for reminding me, I’ll get the links and pin them :) so glad you found it interesting!

I am hopeful that we will be able to find or genetically engineer strains of beneficial human skin bacteria that can produce UV filters, retinol, ceramides, amino-peptides, etc... that can then be used in a topical skin probiotic formulation (like MotherDirt).

That would be awesome ! I reckon it’s not too far away. It would completely revolutionise skincare, make it super personalised to individual skin needs 😊

Beautifully informative. What temperature is a ‘hot’ shower? 35, 38, 40+ degrees?
