This goes deeper than that one scene. Since the first movie, Patricia has always put on this persona that nothing is wrong, and they are perfect, and they had issues that needed to be worked out that she never talked about with her husband. It doesn't help that she's also out here giving advice on marriage that she's clearly not following. She's helping people with their marriages while hers is falling apart.

I never realized until yall mentioned it that Patricia only monetized her "grief" instead of actually healing. I would put money on it that whatever she wrote in that book, she downplayed her part with very little accountability. It showed during the hospital scene and the memorial service. She did exactly what she did when it came to her son..bottle up her emotions and used it to make a profit. For her to be a psychologist, she's the one that ACTUALLY needed therepy the most. I know too many people like her irl. Just like Debbie Morgan said in Eve's bayou: she can see everybody elses issues, but she's blind to her own life. Unfortunately, Tyler Perry and his target audience are surface level (low to mid vibrational) at BEST, so this talking point might go over a lot of people's heads.
Just take a moment and think about the people in your lives who LOVE Tyler Perry and all of his content. What type of people are they? It's definitely something to be studied, thats for sure.

If Patti wouldve waited until he gotten off to give him that "cake", he never wouldve driven off when and how he did. Granted an accident can happen at any given moment, but there were other ways she couldve handled this outside his job! They owed one another their burdens

You do know that emotions influence the way you drive by hindering your awareness. So just imagine how pissed off he was at Pat and trying his hardest to get away from her only to have her follow him and give him more shii. he’s fighting to stay calm while trying to drive it’s her fault

“The Rock is like every woman’s dream!” Heit you told no lies because I saw this movie when it first came out and once the Rock appeared on screen every woman in the theater jumped out of their seat for joy and screamed. Majority of them middle aged too, but honestly I do believe Patty is responsible for Gavin’s death just like their own son. Gavin lost his boy, respect, marriage, peace of mind and life because of her; not to mention, his wealth and reputation. Patty just threw more salt on the wound, a fine example why marriage is not an option for men anymore.

Is it just me or did Patricia use her "doctor" title as a cover for her actual enjoyment of toxicity, in others as well as herself?
It was either that or unhealed trauma made her into someone she actually hated but couldn't "fix."
Anyway, yes, I believe Perfect Patty (no pun intended) drove Gavin to his demise.
