    Nice show! I too play the KBS $-Taper shafts in 120 stiff. But, I prefer the Tour V wedge shafts in my wedges. Have also played the Tour, Tour V and C-Taper in irons in the past. Have also played their hybrid and wood shafts. Hi Rev 2.0 and 610 wedge shafts are also nice if you need different trajectories.

      How are they working for you? I just got the same shafts thrown in the Mizuno 245s!
      A tad concerned about the tips getting bent on the KBS as they are not reinforced... But that's also more or a c-taper issue from from I've read

    Great review, it would have been interesting to also include the Tour VT which is the heavier tour spec version of the Tour V which was designed for Phil Mickelson and it is a much stouter profile so it is essentially a different shaft altogether.

    I play Tour V 125, Phil’s shaft, soft stepped 1. Never tried a $ taper

    2 questions. First, for a golfer who has an early release/ gets a little flippy and tends to have their low point right at the ball or behind the ball an inch or 2, does a slightly thinner sole with medium bounce like a Vokey S grind 10 degrees of bounce tend to work better than a F grind with a full sole and 14 degrees of bounce.
    I personally feel the full soles like the F and K grinds bounce into the ball when I try them, but I am always told that a thinner sole and medium to lower bounce is only for better ball strikers?
    Second, for a golfer who has a quick, very aggressive transition and an early release/ gets a little flippy and tends to have their low point right at the ball or behind the ball an inch or 2. In general, for this type of swing, a shaft with a higher bend point near the grip and a stiff tip section tends to be better correct?
    Thank you!! I love your channel and reviews!! You do an excellent job in your reviews!!

    Great video! I like the shaft comparison videos. How about a Modus comparison? On a side note does fitting mid and high handicappers aggravate your team? How about a fitting video of some mid handicappers?

    Hi! I am looking for a shaft with a high bend profile and a lower balance point.
    I have an aggressive, quick transition and an early release and a little flippy.
    Please tell me one shaft I could try from each the following manufacturers with a high bend profile and lower balance point from Dynamic Gold, Nippon Modus and KBS.
    Thank you again!!
    I appreciate your advice and I love your channel !!
    Thanks, Joe

    Surprised to hear Ian's thoughts on the C-Taper. I don't swing nearly as hard as him and I recently got the C-Tapers. They feel so smooth to me. Funny how much they can feel different between players.

      @@windmillgolfcenter 120g - Stiff. I'm around 89 mph with my 7 iron. Ball flight was too high with the other KBS shafts. This helped get it down.

    Awesome vid, I play the $ taper 130, C taper in that weight too much but 125 better how do you decide between the 125 vs 130 and hard or soft stepping ?

    Any issues with the KBS tips bending? Seems like all the pulls I see online have bent tips as they are not reinforced. More so in the C-Taper

    I play the Accra 115 green in my irons .. would the $ tapers compliment them in my wedges ? Or modus 120?

    Tour V is NOT softer than Tour at same weight. Was that a 130 Tour X vs 120 Tour V X comparison? Tour V also has tour spec shafts at 125 and 130. Tour V has thinner walls, larger circumference in the middle. Interesting that he though a 10g lighter shaft, felt heavier initially to him

    How would you say tour v 110 compare to a dg 120 tour issue stiff shafts?

    When you say heavy loader. Is that a person who has a very quick, aggressive transition and holds the angles until right before impact? Then what would you call someone who has a very quick, aggressive transition, but has an early release/ is a little flippy? Thanks!

    • @CaribSurfKing1
      @CaribSurfKing1 6 месяцев назад +1

      Gary Woodland/Sergio/Lucas Glover a typical heavy loader

    you guys think the C-taper feeling and give changes significantly between the 130x and the 120s? Im far away from a fitting facility and in the process of buying irons. I have somewhat fast clubhead speed and I've been told an X shaft would fit me, so I'm staying away from the X C-taper, looking between the S C-taper, NS Modus X, and KBS Tour X. Any advice? (i don't go to the gym lol if that matters since I've been told that if i don't work out the C-taper could be a paint in the ssa)

    • @windmillgolfcenter
      @windmillgolfcenter  5 месяцев назад +1

      In all honesty the way you react to the shafts will differ from how others react to the shafts. Shaft profile is the starting point during a fitting but not all shafts in a specific profile on paper will be good for you. The difference between the X and S in C Taper for example is something that can be felt but to really be able to see what works best for you would require some numbers to see what gives you the best launch window. Another thing to note which is often over looked is that shaft flex code differs from one company to the next, one X can feel softer compared to the next. My advice is as much as it may be a pain a fitting may be your best bet to really see and not have to guess what works best.

    Tour V is definitely not softer than KBS Tour. Both great shafts tho!
