I have a fitting question on these. I am 6''4" wrist to floor is at 36-36.5" somewhere in that range, would i standard length one length be optimal? I am 4 months into golfing and have been using a cheap set of +1" clubs that was based on my height.

I love this club for me. It goes higher and straighter than my 3 wood off the tee and fairway, for me. Easily replaced my 3 wood. How would it compare to the Taylormade Brnr mini?

Interesting review which confirms my experience with the Ai Smoke irons: inconsistent distance control. I can hit 7i 145-170 yds depending on my swing speed and lie. I agree the look is compact with a thinner top line. The feel is solid, but not soft. Although I like Ai Smoke, I prefer my PXG 0311P. I also tried the 2023 Apex, but didn't like the clack sound of the back badge, although they flew great. I just haven't found a Callaway iron with the sound and feel and looks that I like. Thanks for the review!

The S20c steel is just a different designation than used in the US. Mizuno uses 1025 steel, which is 2.5% carbon, very soft. Using that format, Miuras are 1020 steel, 2% carbon. That makes them slightly softer. I owned Mizuno MP33s for years, but never hit Miuras. The part of the feel due to the metal is probably very close. Club design is probably more important when it comes to feel.

I tested both irons a couple of weeks ago. The P7CBs were good looking and I hit them very well. The P770s looked good also, but performed horribly in my testing with 7-8 different iron shafts. I assumed a combo set was going to be needed with these, but the long irons in the P7CBs were consistent on flight and with spin.

I just went with Wilson irons but got them all in one length. Would've been nice to know these shafts existed so I could've put them on my higher lofted clubs for swingweight. Would this have been possible? And how does the flex characteristics change with weight? Because I could get the same flex lighter weight shafts with the shafts I have but that would change the way it flexes and also effect yardages and gaps between clubs

I bought 7 year old used clubs because to start again because my 20+ year old set broke at the range within going twice after a decade or so layoff from the game. They weren't set up right for me and I thought about getting fitted for a name brand, but the price is pretty high. So, I told myself if I continued to play regularly that I'd get the big brand fitting in a year or so, but in the meantime I ordered some Takomo 101T's. They aren't quite set up perfectly for me, but could be fairly easily. The big deal is though that my dispersion dropped by 50% almost overnight after getting these clubs. I initially lost about 5 yards per club by going from game improvement style clubs, but to now I've surpassed the yardages and hit way more center of the face shots. The Takomo's are seriously impressive clubs. I don't think you'll get more than 1% - 2% better quality or performance by getting a big name brand off the rack. I'd say they are so close in performance to the big name brands that it's a wash. In my opinion if you're looking to get new clubs with the latest tech and not spend a ton of money, Takomo is the way to go. The only way to improve the equipment side of your game over and above Takomo's is to get fitted.

So Costco came out with their Signature series irons for $499. At the moment you can’t find for sale in store but scalpers are trying to sell them on the bay for $900-$1600! That’s insane! The great thing is that I found a whole set of mint Mizuno MP4 irons at Goodwill for $27! $27 for a $400 set of irons! Can’t beat that kind of deal. It’s like hitting an eagle on a par 4!

Yes golf clubs are expensive. Relative to other hobbies it’s not that bad and it’s true that most of the cost is up front. On the contrary, golf in general is too expensive. Balls are $4 each and given 2-3 a round, you combine that with green fees and you’re looking at $70 a round. Play 2 times a week which is considered a lot of golf and a good bit to maintain a decent handicap and you’re looking at $140 a week, $560/month. That’s a lot.

I took golf back up 4 years ago after a long hiatus from the sport. Watching Bryson piqued my interest in one length clubs and I got fit for a set of Pinhawks. After 2 rounds I was convinced. Fast forward I upgraded to Cobra LTDX one length and this season I'm playing custom fit Cobra Dark Speed one length irons and hybrid with graphite shafts. I have no issues with distance, gaps in distance or wedges. My dispersion is very tight (generally +/- 7 yards from centre). I'm always amazed when my playing partners try my clubs and hit them flush and comment how easy they are to swing but can't imagine switching to one length because it seems weird. Once you get your head around the length, especially for the wedges and just learn and accept to trust your swing, one length clubs are the easiest clubs you'll ever play.

Great video. Love the cheap but expensive quote. So true. Great point about the golf ball. I thought the Callaway Soft X was great, but the new Callaway Chrome family blows it away. After experimenting with different balls over last 2 seasons, I think I have settled on the Callaway Chrome Tour as my favorite ball. Overall I love all the tech in golf. It makes it so fun and interesting

Been frequently watching your uploads a question I have is when is a good time to get refit for clubs? Currently gaming a set of mavericks across the bag. Since getting the clubs i have gone from a high handicap 20+ to now a consistent 14 handicap this year so far. When is it time to see if something else would help more ?

Great point Golf prices increasing less than most other things. Most prices on Food Items I buy at Costco have gone up 60% since Covid, whereas Golf across the board is averaging about 20% since Covid. When you factor in all the technology that golf companies have, and how much they have improved equipment, their cost increases are totally justified vs those food items are not, because they dont taste any better😊.
