My favorite of all time was on a top flight golf ball. I honestly was laughing so hard I thought I was going to be in tears. I expect certain followings to be really passionate about their golf balls, but never have I had a negative comment to that degree on a top flight. You just never know what you're going to see on here 😂
Kirkland blew it this year and last year was way better. You want the worlds best sleeper? Spalding SD Tour 3 piece urethane ball for 14 bucks on line. Ignore the hit job by the spy's. I play it to a 5 hdcp.
An interesting review. I'm 72 years old and my swing speed is 80-82 mph. About 2 years ago, I set out to find the best ball for my game. I listened to a bunch of podcasts and read a lot of articles on the "best ball for slow swing speeds." I wound up testing the Callaway Supersoft, Srixon Softfeel, Titleist ProV1, Titleist AVX, Noodle Long and Soft, Precept Laddie Extreme, Cut Grey, Kirkland Signature and a few others. In the end, I liked the feel of the softer balls but found almost no difference in performance except that I have the impression that the Kirkland doesn't go as far as the others and the Titleist AVX might go a bit further (or it might be my imagination). Now, I use the AVX if the fairway is wide and there's no water. Otherwise, I use the cheapest ball I can buy, which is the Precept or the Noodle. I really believe that unless you're good enough to consistently hit the ball where you want to hit it, it just doesn't make any difference.
So I agree with some of this. I would actually make the argument that if you are not very good and you miss hit the golf ball a lot, you want something with softer compression to offer more forgiveness. If you are hitting a firmer golf ball like the AVX or the pro v1, Miss hits are going to punish you a lot more than soft golf balls are.
@@GolfBallAddictI’ve recently hit 85,86 and pretty much avg 89 been golfing 2 years. I’ve noticed all balls go the same distance for me 🤷🏽♂️ I avg 280 with 3 wood don’t use driver lol but for me the best ball I’ve noticed is Titleist it’s the only ball the checks for me every thing else gives me roll
I am almost 80 years young. Swing speed around 90 when I am warmed up. I love the Bridgestone e12 contact however, I don't think any golf ball is worth over $25 per dozen. The manufacturers are making a killing on their golf balls. So I only buy the e12 when its marked down 20% or more at walmart or on line. Most of my balls are obtained via the lost ball situation. Its cheap, like me.😊
Have you tried something like the vice tour? They are around $25 per dozen and have a little bit of a firmer feel. I definitely feel you sir. I'm all about value myself. 😃
I'm 75 and have been playing the Bridgestone e12 lately. I found one some weeks back, played it, and loved the hard to quantify feel at impact. I also loved the straight shots I hit and decided this was the way to go so, if it's working, don't fix it.
I've seen a lot of other testing that came out much different from yours on the Kirkland. A few yards shorter with more spin, but the biggest complaint was the durability. Problem for most golfers, myself included is that golf is way too expensive and most of us actually suck pretty badly at the game. Price of a cheap round of golf in my area is $50+. If you want a morning tee time on the weekend, break out $75 at a minimum. Ball price matters, especially when you might only hit it once or twice before you send it swimming or camping. I understand that we might not be playing our best golf with that ball, but most of us only get to play once or twice a month & hardly ever play our best golf anyway. Add the price of 10 lost golf balls at $3 each, then you're adding another $30 to a round that already cost $50+. Add a beer or 3 and before you know it your round of golf cost $100-$150. It's not dying on a hill for a golf ball. It's simple economics and saving money where I can allows me to play more golf if I can actually find the time.
So I agree with everything you just said. There's only one flaw in what you mentioned, the reason I created this channel was so that we could find the best performing golf balls for the money. It's one of the main target goals of the channel. With that being said, there are many many golf balls we have tested that are actually cheaper than the Kirkland that performed twice as good. I understand value matters, and I'm in that same boat. I refuse to spend more than $35 a dozen for golf balls. However the Kirkland is my 93rd ranked golf ball. The Wilson zip on the other hand, is my number two ranked golf ball and it's a dollar a golf ball. So what I really want all my viewers to understand is yes I understand you need value, but that doesn't mean you have to play a dog water golf ball.
@@GolfBallAddict I've never even seen that ball, but at that price, based on your recommendation, I just ordered 2 doz from Amazon for $29.97. Glad to see Wilson making a golf comeback. Them along with MacGregor were the kings of golf when I was a kid and working as a caddy, only with clubs, not balls. Titleist was king of golf balls back then too.
Very interesting. But you definitely need to test the latest versions of the balls. I just turned 83, have played for over 62 years, have a 16-17 handicap I hope to lower. Obviously swing speed has declined with age. And I still play forged blades with weak lofts (34 degree 7 iron). I get carry of 190-200 and total distance of about 210-220 with an occasional 235 with my driver, so last year moved up to the 5800-6200 tees in order to have second shots into the par 4s of 110-160 yards. Also replaced my 3,4 and 5 irons with a 7 wood and 9 wood. So I have become very interested in finding a ball that will give me 5 or 10 yards more distance on drives. But like many mid-handicappers I often miss a green short or to either side and face a pitch or chip with a wedge. Make a lot of use of my 60 degree lob wedge for 20 to 50 yard pitches. Have no trouble hitting it high on to the green. But for either a full approach shot with anything from a pitching wedge to a 6 iron, and for those LW pitches, I would like to also find a ball that has a lot of greenside spin so that my shots won't roll off firm fast greens. More distance on drives, yet better stopping with irons and wedges. That's asking a lot. Usually you can get one or the other, not both. I am a member at the PGA Super Store in Rockville, Maryland, and have taken advantage of their practice bays with overhead Foresight launch monitors to test literally dozens of different balls for hours, from the Wilson Duo and Callway Super Soft all the way up to the Pro V1X left dash. Played with them as well. And I have also closely studied the results of the My Golf Spy ball tests for lower swing speeds. Call me a weirdo golf nerd. Lately I have found that the Wilson Triad is a pretty good all around choice. Compared it with the latest Callaway Super Soft is, which is improved, gives good distance on drives, but you definitely loose 1000 rpm or more spin on wedge shots. If you rub one of them, you can feel they have a much "stickier" surface than any tour ball, no doubt to increase friction and spin, but still. I would agree with you that when I have looked at the data with many other balls, at my swing speed I definitely do not get max distance from either the Titleist ProV1 or V1x or left dash V1x, and also do not get max distance from the Bridgestone balls for swing speeds under 105, either the RX or RXS. It takes using the launch monitor to tell that, since mid-handicappers like me simply don't produce sufficiently precise and consistent results out on the course on which to base a determination.
That is quite a lot of great information. Thank you for taking the time to post it. I agree with most of what you said. That's awesome that you get to hit in their bays and get some really good data from it. There are a lot of guys that would love to have that information
Enjoyed your video. Did you see this one, ruclips.net/video/dWCEJr0tKQ4/видео.html 40 different balls tested with a robot at 3 different swing speeds? At each swing speed the biggest difference between the shortest and longest ball was about 4 yards. I have said for years (and mentioned on my channel) that which ball you play hardly affects your score (unless it's a psychological love or hate). I am a scratch player at almost 70 with driver swing speed of just over 100 and have shot many par and under rounds using balls like Noodle, Warbird, Velocity, Supersoft, even recently did a video and shot par with a Nitro. There are differences in spin around the greens and feel of impact but not noticeably in distance. I've had people comment "I found I hit this ball 30 yards farther" but I really don't think that is possible on a consistent basis. To me, what makes a ball overrated is the price. I do prefer the prov1x and the TP5X for their spin around the greens and they seem to be less affected by the wind....but I will not buy them new! I do not buy and balls new, (I have a source for perfect found balls that I get mine for $10-12/dozen. I get the lesser "preferred" balls for $5/doz) but I shoot the same scores with any ball I use. Besides, for many a longer tee shot usually means deeper into the forest and distance is overrated too. (I also have videos on that). Marketing is a powerful tool. Dean Snell, creator of the TP5X and now Snell golf balls said in an interview that (low compression) balls are simply a feel and sound difference, but almost no performance difference. Manufacturers have seniors believing they need a special; ball in order to "compress" it when a higher compression ball with perform comparably for them. So I guess bases on your channel title, maybe I'm the opposite of you, I'm a golf ball skeptic!, lol Keep up the good work! Geezer
I really enjoy these videos. As a retired 74 year old losing swing speed, I’ve been trying a lot of balls. Agree with your assessments and didn’t like the Supersoft even at my swing speed . Not very forgiving. I’ve tried all the mid- 3 piece urethane balls and like the Q-Star Tour. The ball I’ve had the best luck with is the Bridgestone TreSoft. Unfortunately hard to find in the US. Meijer has stopped selling them. Still advertised on the Australian Bridgestone website. Similar to E6. Recently trying the Maxfli Tour S and Wilson Zip as I’m looking for a replacement for the Treosoft when they run out. Trying the Zio based on your video.
@@GolfBallAddict Wilson Zip wasn’t as good for me as I expected. Not bad and comparable type ball at 50 compression to my gamer. I was Looking for more distance as an 80 mph senior so I switched to a 12 degree driver and started re-testing balls. I got the best results with the Maxfli Tour S. It even out performed my old standby Bridgestone TreoSoft. I tested several balls with GPS on two different courses. They were urethane mid price and two piece lower price. The much cheaper TreoSoft was second but now is only available in Australia. That is what started me looking for a new ball. I love the Q Star Tour but driver distance was lacking by a lot. Best around the greens and accurate. I was very surprised the Maxfli Tour S performed the way it did. Long and forgiving with all clubs. Not as good around the greens for a urethane ball but rollout not bad. I’ll continue using Treosoft but will phase Maxfli Tour S in. Occasionally I use Q Star tour on shorter holes.
Excellent and well thought review however I believe a lot of players pick their golf ball by popularity and not what performs best for them. I personally play the Callaway Supersoft because I love the feel and control on the greens. I personally prefer an orange ball because I can see it easier. The durability is amazing and I've played three rounds withe the same ball and the distance stayed consistent. I definitely agree that the Kirkland is not a good ball except for gaining strokes on your score but if it works for you as a golfer then stick with it. Again, golfers need to pick a ball that suits their game! I am a 60 year old with a 85-90 mph swing with a 9 handicap and I've changed my ball numerous times over the past 30 years to suit my game and swing. Same thing goes for my clubs, I have Taylormade, PXG, Ping and a Titleist in my bag because I find what works best for me not some PGA tour player who's getting paid and professionally fitted for his or her clubs. Life is short (just like most of my approach shots) so play more golf and have fun!
I'm a disabled golfer, and my go-to ball is the old Titleist DT-Trusoft. I(I never lose balls) I use the Supersoft on cold Spring Days and cold Fall days. They work well for my 70MPH swing.
Yes those golf balls do wonderful on colder days. I remember those old true soft golf balls. I heard the 2024 version is a little bit better as well, so can't wait to do a retest
When I played in highschool we were given pro v1s for the last ten years that’s all I’ve played and I’ve experienced the unforgiving nature of them. However I never realized how in forgiving they were till I started playing som softer options I finally settled on the callaway chrome soft and I feel I’m a lot less stressed if I don’t hit it just right.
Thays why 90% of average golfers will never get better. They're not open to the idea of other options and not just golf balls. You wouldn't believe how may average golfers play with blades!!
Oh it blows my mind. And an absolutely makes me sick to my stomach. I have so many coworkers and Friends who are trying to get better and shoot below 90, and they're buying these $1,700 unforgiving blades. Honestly I'm at a point where I don't care how good I get I don't see myself ever getting blades. I'll take the forgiveness all day everyday
Not just play them but I always see comments of "you suck and only hit a 8i x distance because your playing game improvement" like are they legal? Yes. Then leave people alone man if you want more distance buy those irons if you want the blade feel buy those but don't criticize others for buying what fits them lol golf egos are a wild thing lol
I am probably a below average golfer with a slower swing speed. Yet I play the Bridgestone BRX. I know that they do not maximize distance but they have a urethane cover so are very durable and they STAY on line. Plus I’ve been able to get them at $39 most of the time. The e6 has too little spin around the greens. Just my opinion FWIW
I always played 2 piece balls because that's what the "Internet" says I should play because I have a slow swing speed (~85mph w/driver) and high handicap (21). A few months ago I found a ProV1 on the 5th hole and decided to play it the rest of the round. I had some of the longest and best hits I've ever had. So I decided to buy a dozen and I feel like I play a lot better with them. I'm getting more distance, accuracy, and getting the ball to stop on the green. My local shop sells used, excellent condition, ProV1s for $15/dozen. So I'm going to stick with them since I play better with them and they're cheaper than most 2 piece balls out there.
I'll have to definitely take your word for it. I would encourage somehow to try a golf ball fitting. I mean if it isn't broke don't fix it, but it wouldn't be the first time someone has swore up and down to me that they played better with the Pro V1 and then after the fitting was done they found four or five golf balls that give them better numbers. It never hurts to try it just to see if something performs a little better Thank you so much for your feedback though, as well as watching and commenting. It helps the video and channel a lot 😁😃
I love wilson. I took a look at their new blades and even though I can't hit them I absolutely adore them. I almost want to get really good at golf just so I can buy them LOL
I emailed Wilson a few months ago asking why the Zip was removed from their website, and their response was because it's been discontinued. I think they just had a lot of stock is why walmart and amazon still sell them. My local walmart was out of them for about a year, but they have them now.
I somewhat agree with some on your list, but I do believe that if you "think" the ball you play is the best ball for you then that is 90% of the battle won, confidence when u stand over a ball means a lot more then it is given credit for IMO.
I definitely agree with you on the confidence. However that's why I recommend ball fitting so much. My thing is, you can be playing the worst golf ball on the planet and be confident in it. I was playing the tp5 back in the day and thought I was hot stuff because I was playing a five-layer ball with tons of spin. However it wasn't until I lost my final one on the course and had to switch to a Duo soft to just finish the round. When I all of a sudden got 20 yards more distance, and pard 4 of the 5 last holes, that's when I knew something was up. That kind of propelled me to start the channel also.
I find it ironic that the super soft by Callaway are supposed to be higher handicap friendly, but you find a lot of them in the woods. I'm not a low handicapper. I can't hit the pro v1 or x to save my ass.
LOL it's definitely a golf ball for higher handicaps, however for the people who are spraying multiple balls into the woods in the round, I would recommend more like a top flight probably. The XL is long and straight and they're only like 50 cents of golf ball lol
I am a golf ball snob. Titleist Pro-V1 and Pro-V1x. Taylor Made TP5 and TP5X. Occasionally I will find Titleist with a members initials. I like to give them back in the locker room.
The most engineered piece of tech created to date is the tire that why I usually go with Bridgestone I just assume they put insane energy into their designs
Oh absolutely. Keep in mind that tiger woods loved their engineering so much when they were making the Nike balls that he just stuck with them even after Nike quit.
Yes my swing is same 95 mph avg and Handicap is currently 8.4. The balls I dont care for are the Mizuno RB Tour balls. Srixons lack pop for my swing speed. I love all the new 3 Callaway Ball Line. I have used the Chrome Tour X, Chrome Tour and the new Chrome Soft are all great. Titleist ProV1 and ProV1X are great, but I feel I sacrifice some distance compared to all the new Callaway Balls. I have mixed emotions on the Taylor Made. Used to be my go to ball. I do like the new TP5 but dont love it. Agree Bridgestone Balls are not very good. That new green dot thing is lame and looks bad on a ball. Never tried the new Wilson balls or MaxFli Balls. I am finding recently that I am preferring the softer feeling golf balls
Vice Pro Plus is my ball of choice. Great soft feel, great distance and the feel with my pitch shots is great. Forgiving ball with performance of more expensive balls. My launch monitor shows better numbers than the ProV1
Appreciate you sharing your feedback. I didn't have much luck with the Triad but I have had dozens of people asking for a re-review after they had the opposite results. I cannot wait to retest it now.
Strike ball correctly you get good results regardless how expensive or cheap the ball is. Make poor contact you get poor result how expensive or poor golf ball is.
Agree whole heartedly. Whenever I've had a special round it has been with something I just pulled out of my bag without a second thought!@@bobbradford6838
Absolutely no reason for a casual golfer to pay premium for golf balls. Play generics or play the ones you find. I'm a 6 handicap, I just want consistency. Found balls are not consistent. I'd rather have balls that are all the same, so I know what I'll get out of with every swing, chip or putt. A new box of Kirkland's, Vice, Pro Staff or other balls in range are fine for me.
I understand that thought process. And I'm sure it's true to some degree. But you do need to be careful. It's kind of like I mentioned in the video. The amount of people who have been a die-hard golf ball fan and have switched once I do a fitting for them would baffle you. A lot of people think that a golf ball fitting would be someone who is unsure what to play. That does happen from time to time, however a lot of my fittings come from guys who just played the same thing for 20 years and I convinced them to do the fitting just to give them closure. Most of them agree to it and I would say a good 60% of people end up switching. My point in that is that a lot of people are playing golf balls they really like and they think are giving them the max performance, but it just ends up all being hype in their head bringing false confidence.
@GolfBallAddict I understand and agree with you 💯 but I'm someone who let's just say is a shit golfer I'm work 40 hrs a week and I really don't have money to spend so I try to go cheap as I can but at same time I try to stick with a name brand I can't see spending 30 50 or 60 dollars on something I will just end up losing in the water or trees I play the Bridgestone e6 I found a place where I can get them for 21.99 a dozen but you really have me interested in the precept laddie now
@albertmcreynolds7143 bro go to academy and buy ufo balls. Let's you keep the same ball for consistency and they are 1 dollar per ball. If you aren't concerned about getting absolute peak performance then it's great. I'm not a great golfer and I can't really tell the difference between balls so I just buy those
@@albertmcreynolds7143 I'm going to give you the best ball you have ever played for 14 bucks a dozen. A tour quality 3 piece TPU Urethane ball that any tour pro would use. Spalding SD Tour Golf ball on rock bottom golf. Not the X model but the one in the gold box. You will buy more.
@@GolfBallAddict now, I bought a few doz of ProV1s (recycled) frorm Walmart when they were 5.99/dz. I kinda had fun sorting them oldest to newest by the side stamp. Most, honestly, were indistinguishable from new some were logoed but for 50c a ball, I figured by materials only they couldn't be any worse than the price point Nitros or Wilson Boosts.
Appreciate the list. agree on Kirkland. Balls today have a vast options for all abilities. Much more so than when I grew up (age 57 now) One must decide what is their top reasons for a ball of choice. For me as a 3-4 hcp, that is short game trust, putting/feel, distance is not my top item but has to be a factor of not a dog. 98-102 SS. Tried them all. Still revert back to ProV1. TP5 is solid, Tour response is good. Vice Pro plus is very playable and I have played it recently. Note: I practice only with ProV in my short game (75% of my practice time). That is key to me of whatever ball people play is to use it practicing where it can matter most. Note: yesterday travel group is best shot format. I chipped in for birdie on par 3 we missed green. 244 par 4 I hit 5 wood to about 20 yards made up and down with 3 foot putt. ProV1. But I practice those constantly and it pays off.
I disagree. The quality of the Kirkland ball is awful. No one ball is like the other. This is why a tour ball is so much better and why you pay $55-$60 for a dozen of Titleist Golf balls than the cheaper ones, its the quality and consistency ball for ball, that is what you are paying for.
You’d be surprised to see the amount of older gentlemen and slow swing speed players playing these tour rated balls. I always cringe when I ask a golfer what ball they play and instantly know the compression is way beyond their swing. Great vid.
Completely agree. I am in the same boat now. I have a lot of guys who swing 75 mph who are arguing with me on the channel about how the pro v1x is the right ball for them. Not saying I don't believe them, but I am requiring some pretty hard evidence 😂
I think most golfers don’t understand compression and what that number means to your swing. My driver speed is on par with yours (95-100). I only use DTC balls (Sugar, Snell, Vice or OnCore) and they must be 3 piece urethane covers with 80-85 compression, that gets me the most distance but still enough stopping power on the green. Currently using an old box of new Snell MTB Prime after using all of my Prime 3.0’s. I will reorder the 3.0’s after the 2 dozen MTB’s are gone.
I would definitely agree with you when it comes to the compression. Compression doesn't quite mean what it used to but it's still very important when it comes to the golf ball fitting. Definitely give the new Snell 3.0 as a try they are awesome
I think any ball that sells for more than $30/dozen is overrated. Every ball should sell for around $1/ball...period...especially for the millions of mid-to-high handicappers who lose balls a lot more often than the really good golfers.
Surprised but...not surprised. I am an older golfer 57 but swing the club 106-110 and range between 3-5 hdcp. I REALLY like the Pro V1 but I am disgusted by the price. I have told you previously I am a Vice Pro Plus guy...they are better in EVERY respect to the Pro V1s for me. The price is better, I get to customize them and my consistency is much better with all shots. I am sorry for all of the jerks who say nasty things about any of your testing, but am not surprised with the love of Kirkland, tried them...will never buy them again.
Thank you so much for the feedback. Personally I adore the vice Pro Plus especially the brand new model. The testing numbers were just insane. It's part of the territory. I am actually really blessed to have 98% of my comments be amazing people with really constructive feedback and from what I can tell really high intelligence. Not to mention just good down to earth morally sound people. I'll always get a few guys in here who are trolls. Is what it is I just block them and move on LOL
I agree 100%. Tried the Vice pro plus last week and it's my new #1 ball. I actually purchased the neon green and wow does that ball pop on the fairway, in the rough, in the woods..lol...and it is MUCH easier to track in the air at least for me, unlike white which many times I lose sight of because it just blends too well with the sky
Single digit hcp 70 years old. PROV1 best for me and I've tried them all. Cracks me up when people I know put out thousands for custom fit clubs with upgrade shafts and then play crap or refurbished balls.
LOL I know. The opposite also gets me, I see people come pay $250 for a golf round all the time and they have clubs from the '90s. Also they are usually driving a Porsche or a Mercedes or something. I understand if you have clubs you like and if it ain't broke don't fix it, but my goodness could you get something from the century at least? 😂
Nice. I didn't have much luck with the avx, then again I don't have a problem hitting the ball very high in the air. So a lower launching golf ball didn't do much for me
It really hit home when you talked about mishits . I’m in the 90-95 range and there have been times a ProV1 feels great , but my goodness I can clank one on the toe and goodnight Irene- my result is awful. I’m checking out your top 100 list
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback. I'm glad we shared some more experiences. It's actually the reason anytime I try to come back to the Pro V1 I just end up giving up on it again. Please do! You'll find plenty of great options in there that a variety of price points and performance numbers
I haven't bought a golf ball in years. That being said, I have had luck, ( low rounds ), with Wilson, Top Flite, Vice, Bridgestone, Kirkland, and Calloway. Don't ask what model, couldn't tell you. 69 years old, playing Galloway clubs from 1996, X12's, except for the driver, five years old, and a new seven wood, which I love. Maybe would like the new 2 wood, maybe. Swing speed, roughly eighty five to ninety mph? Everyone has different needs. Trial and error. Thanks for the video.
Because tens of thousands of people play it. Yet it has been proven not only by the human test, ergo me, and also by robotic testing, today's golfer, that it is just a mediocre golf ball that spends way too much and loses way too much distance. For the same price, actually a little cheaper, you could be playing a golf ball that is top five in distance and forgiveness. Just because something is cheap doesn't mean it can't be overrated.
Good explanation of your research and how you apply it to the average golfer. Appreciate the information, it’s really helped my game trying different golf balls you recommend. Legato’s in the mail!!
@@GolfBallAddict- compared the Legato to my Srixon Soft Feel last night in our Thursday Scramble. Legato was shorter off the Tee and felt a little thuddy, almost heavier? Irons to green I liked it better and same with putting. It did have a weird paint damage thing going on. Looked like a gray undercoating emerged. Paint did not look gone. Just weird.
This may be the best take I've seen so far. Lol. I'm honestly surprised I did not mention it in my video, it must have slipped my mind. Let me definitely clarify, any of bridgestone's three-piece or more golf balls are overrated. They're two-piece models are excellent
Great reviews as always, Nick. Has your opinion of the BRX-S changed from your positive review in the past? My recollection is that that you got good numbers and good forgiveness and that it seemed like that was the one B-ball you liked. Thanks again for everything you do!
Hi, I am a bit surprised by your list. I am probably in the same ballpark as handicap goes as you are. I swing my 7 iron around 90 MPH. I am constantly battling my steep downswing as probably most amateurs are. I share your opinion on Prov1's regarding its notoriety and I stay away from them because I am sure they add a lot of spin to my too steep of a downswing. I am also convinced that If you slice and use a urethane ball, you probably don't know much about balls, because I'm sure they add a lot of side spin when ball is hit on a outside to inside path. Also if you're slicing and playing urethane balls, you're throwing money away - so to speak. However I never experienced them to be punishing other than that. If i remember correctly mygolfspy tested golf balls with different swing speeds and ProV1 was one of the best balls in all categories. On Bridgestone making a list. As far as i know they have 4 urethane options for different swing speeds and a good amount of 2-piece balls for amateurs. As you mentioned, e6 tested very positive and other not so much. e6 and e12 are good golf balls in my opinion. Whenever I find a bridgestone ball it's almost always an e6. They're a good all around balls similar to Srixon AD333. So saying that, I think that puting Bridgestone as a whole on a list is kind of undeserving. List would be far better if you would of singled out golf balls - in my humble opinion Titleist Tour Soft is overrated as well as Velocity (they get banged of very quickly). Kirkland Signature would also not get on my list.
I can understand this thought process. I didn't do a very good job of explaining bridgestone's past performances in the video. So I will try to make it a little more clear by breaking it down here. The e6 is a decent golf ball. It's not top three or top five when it comes to my two-piece golf ball list, but it's in the top 10. It gets the job done. The e12 is one of the worst golf balls I've ever tested. I can't stand the flight, feel, anything. Definitely a bottom 10 golf ball for me. The e9 really is just kind of a outcast in a situation. It's designed for long drive contest, so it's really only good if you swing really fast and don't want to urethane high spinning golf ball. Very small crowd Now to the Tour line. I just didn't have really any good results with any of them. So get me wrong, they didn't necessarily test bad, they just tested okay to good. Yet I have so many DieHard fans begging me to retest them and also playing them despite they don't have the ability to Hope that kind of clears my line of thinking a little bit.
I've always thought the prov1 was overrated myself. It's a nice ball but I don't get the hype. I just tried the TP5 this year and have had the best results from it. Feels the best off the face of the club and it's given me my best spin results by miles. Really like that ball. Also just tried the Kirkland balls for the first time this spring. I did enjoy them but noticed they scuff up very easy and the distance wasn't the best. Callaway Warbird are my favorite if I'm just looking for distance and good ball roll.
Love the feedback here. Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about it. I can't wait to try the new tp5 I've had people tell me the results are much much better. Hopefully Taylor made is on the right track. If you're a fast swinger than the warbird probably would work out really well. There are a lot of people who enjoy the feel of the golf ball.
Interesting review and you are spot on. As a senior with a swing speed with a 7 iron of 74 I never consider tour balls. Better off with a Srixon soft or AD333 but I have tried the latest Supersoft which is good for my swing. Do you rate Wilson golf balls? Many thanks greetings from 🇬🇧
Yeah we've actually been doing a lot of Wilson reviews lately. Just got done with the boost and it was phenomenal. I also just posted a Wilson staff model that turned out really good too
As a Srixon player, I'm very happy to not see them mentioned. I went from supersofts to Bridgestone e6/e12s. I started to notice Supersofts almost never stuck greens for me so bailed to Bridgestones. Never bought the tour level balls but I've always enjoyed playing them especially your dreaded e12 in matte red for winter rounds so i can see it on the dead blonde fairways. Treated myself to Srixon Zstar diamonds after playing a ZstarVX i found. Really love any of the Zstar line and im a mid-high handicap that's only been playing for a year. To go along with the ProV1 phenomenon, I wonder if the fact that the ProVs being THE number 1 golf ball give average joes confidence they wouldn't normally have out there. Marketing is mammoth of course but that could be a part of it as well. Never bought them, but even I feel that way when i play one I've found. Would love to see a top 5 or 10 list for two piece ball, three piece ball, etc.
If anything, I would say srixon is UNDERrated. They continue to not only make quality golf balls across the board, but also their clubs have made a significant jump as well. Love the feedback. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and sharing your thoughts 😃
My main gamer has been the matte green supersofts. I love the feel on most shots, but I too, am not sticking the greens. I've been experimenting with other balls this year, and like GBA suggested, on courses I'm familiar with as kind of a control. I'm currently trying out the Bridgestone e6 and e12's. So far I'm liking them. All these "best" golf balls that the pros use and are overly hyped, are definitely not the balls for my game. It's kind of a never ending search for the ball that best suits me. The more I play, the more I notice the nuances of the balls I'm playing. Some have a nice soft feel, some get good distance with, some are great around the green, and some are budget friendly, now I need to find the one that's a solid mix of all those characteristics with my game.
@@13vansman Glad its not just me because i thought i was taking crazy pills. I truly think its all in the matte finish supersofts. I was playing matte reds/orange and they also putt terribly because of friction and they just spin on putts. I swear so you'll push or pull a putt even with the most precision stroke. I have a standard white one i found to test but haven't got to it. As far as balls to suit the game, I feel that if im playing a 3-piece ball it does everything i need. Best 2-piece is the e6 still which ive heard the early versions were 3-piece.
First, I totally agree. Everyone should try out different balls. What I don't agree with is your small sample size to make a determination regarding the popularity of golf balls. In my club, most people play prov1 and Bridgestones of different flavors. I am the only one playing Supersoft. Can I make a conclusion about the popularity of Supersoft? Perhaps only at my club. Better indicator is ball sales. As I have gotten older, my swing speeds slowed down, I found out that the Supersoft had more distance than the prov1 about the the time I turned 58. That is what I have been using for the last 5 years. Other day I found a fairly new Bridgestone tour B RX. I had to hit a provisional one day so I pulled it out and wow. I out drove the Supersoft by 15 yards. Used it the rest of the round with same results. Guess what I am buying next.
Thank you very much. Honestly now that I think about it I could have just included Titleist as the whole brand. I also can't stand there tour soft or tour speed golf ball
Prov1s on here makes this laughable sorry ive played many balls nothing even close to and a friend same and swings in 90mph range. Some that are close like snell etc covers get scuffed up. Its best ball and for average player still the best and stats data shows same. Your forgiveness maybe look at your clubs. Geeez
Prov1 doesn't even make my top 10. It's not just overrated, it's just not keeping up with the industry. I even have a 109 club speed, the chrome soft and tp5 blow it out of the water even around the green, 5 piece golf balls are the real deal, and titleist still has people who refuse to research their balls duped into spending the same amount on decades old technology. The only thing titleist is the best at is spending money on advertising and endorsing pros to use their ball so they can say it's the most used ball on tour. Also, he said this list was for amateurs who can't swing over 100mph, which you need to get the most out of firm balls like the prov1. I test these on a launch monitor, the prov1 hasn't changed in years bc it doesn't have to, bc idiots will keep buying them bc of the name and price tag. It's the mac computer of golf balls.
@@chadthostenson5129 it blows away the industry quit talking stupid. Everybody who does a overall golf ball tester not paid prov1/x are too dog for a reason.
I stumbled upon your channel. Very interesting. I am an average hacker closing in on 60 and cannot hit prov’s at all. I am hooked on callaway balls and prefer chrome soft. Thank you for your time
I've always liked the Maxfl Black Dot. Very satisfying feel ( when I hit it fairly square), get good distance and hold the green with my wedge shots. I'm 71, haven't had my swing speed checked but am usually 280 - 300 off a straight shot to the fairway, with a slight draw. Still using Macgregor persimmons from 1963, steel shaft, D4 (I think) swing weight. If my putting was better I might be able to break 80 consistently.
I have actually had quite a few people tell me that the old black dot model was really cool with the maxfly. Haven't had a chance to try them but I hear they're phenomenal
IMO Titleist sets the market on golf ball prices with their flagship ProV balls. If they up and decided to knock $10 per dozen off the price, every other ball manufacturer would follow suit.
I agree with everything about TaylorMade. Never liked them except the INK ball. Too hard, feels like hitting a rock off your clubface. Thats what a FEEL player will tell you cause I just did. I prefer the CHROME TOUR or CHROME SOFT, or a ProV1. At age 60, Ive gotten pretty used to the distance and spin I get from these. And my yardages stay where I expect them to, even on a misshit.
😂😂😂😂I was ok until you turned on supersoft. Played that as a beginner and helped me get my handicap down. I only out grew the ball when I was approaching a single figure handicap. For me it was long off the tee and ok on approach shots. Hence, continued to play it. Tried Kirkland recently, might be ok with pitching shots but, lost loads of distance off the tee and with irons. It’s fine for tough courses where I don’t mind losing balls.
The super soft is fine. But my goodness I'm just tired of finding a gazillion of them at work. No lie at one point I had over a hundred of them that I found from work and only a matter of a couple months. Insane 😂
Oh I agree. I wish I still had the video of the one from the top flight. Some dude absolutely died on the hill for the top flight ball and left it all on the line. LOL I was kind of speechless
Typical 19 HDCP'r: "I PLAY DEEZ BALLZ CUZ TIGER DOES" 😅 Odd that the Callway Supersoft makes this list but the Chrome Soft, made it to your top 10! I play A LOT of those Bridgestone Tourballs and Prov1s because that's what I find hunting for my recycled Wilson Prostaffs in the woods LOL.
Man, I was channeling you throughout this video. I guessed 4 out of 5! I've tested these myself except the Kirkland and that may be why I didn't get that one, way off my radar I guess. Anyway, my experiences with these are very similar to yours. Keep posting great content a huge thumbs up on this one. You are in my "top five" channels my friend and I appreciate all the hard work you put in week to week.
Just found your channel, and was pleased to see your honesty. I started falling into the Kirkland trap, but found myself playing better with other balls. I am checking out your top 20 next so I can see what to try next... crazy how people get so rude.
Thank you very much for checking out the channel and the reviews. It takes a little time to invest at this point, but I think if you do you'll find amazing results with golf balls you've never heard of 🤠😁
I will be making a video about it soon. But yes I am so thankful. I really appreciate everyone who's been here for the Long haul. This wouldn't have been possible without you guys 😁💯🙏
Look I know you do a lot for ball reviews but.... dude 80% of this content is just people being ignorant of how their swing speed affects what ball they should play. You basically wrote off three balls for requiring a high swing speed and one for requiring a low swing speed. Know what you SHOULD be playing based on your game. Doesn't mean stuff is overrated. Just means people are foolish.
What really surprises me is how many people really take offense to the word overrated. It seems that it doesn't matter how much I try to explain the true meaning of the word, or even how I'm meaning the word to be represented, people still don't get it. I will try to say it again. Overrated does not mean bad. Overrated does not mean lackluster or mediocre or anything. It means that people have it too highly rated based on what it is. Do you know how often I get told that the Pro V1 is for everyone? You know how many golf professionals that have played the game for 30 to 40 years tell me that even slow senior swinger should be playing it because of how amazing it is? That's overrated. Doesn't mean it's a bad ball. It means that there's a misconception about it that allows the hype around it to be bigger than it actually should be. It should be a hyped ball for advanced players. It's not. It's a hyped ball for everyone. Which includes swing speed. The same logic can be applied to the other ones. I get where you're coming from, I really do. But it just amazes me how everyone takes that word of overrated and seems to have such offense to it.
Every time i lose a MaxFli, I find a ProV1... 😂 I'm trying the new Kirkland this season, but i haven't played enough rounds to judge the distance being the ball vs my bad shots. Seems like it flies the same as my StraightFli's, but I'm not good enough to really judge the balls best vs best performance, as my strikes aren't always consistent. The Kirkland ball does seem to check up MUCH better on the green than the MaxFli balls do, though. I also like putting the Kirkland more, as it's more of a "clink" and a MaxFli feels/sounds like a soft rock. 165 ball speed... 22 hc... Over here hoping that I'm just the right ball away from finally playing bogey golf.. 😂 (Or lessons....... nah 😅)
Not just my numbers, also in robotic testing as well. If it's working for you then I definitely won't tell you to switch, but I will ask you this question. Are you just happy because you're playing well with them? Or are you actually paying attention to how well they're checking up and how far they're traveling compared to other golf balls you're hitting?
Good information thanks. I'm an 18 handicapper, slow swing speed and I recently decided it's time to move up to a 3-piece ball. I've been searching in the budget 3-piece zone (sorry Titleist I'm not paying $60 a dozen). I had bought into all the marketing that slow swing speed players need soft balls and the 3-piece balls are a bit harder and outside of the traditional soft zone of 2-piece balls. That's one of the things that's held me back. MyGolfSpy ball test crew swears up and down that slow swing speed players should not be so concerned about low-compression balls. I finally bit the bullet and went with MaxFli Tour ball (85 compression). They are well-reviewed and the multi box (4) discount gets the price point down to a reasonable range (high 20's a dozen). It's early in my on-course use but wow I can really see how it sticks to a green if you strike an approach shot decent.
There's definitely a lot of opinions on golf ball compression. A couple of things to keep in mind here: For slow swingers I do still recommend lower compression golf balls, however that term is kind of relative. I still want to know how good of a player you are and how well you strike the iron. There are low compression golf balls that are three piece. Srixon q star tour, wright and ditson, oncore elixir, vice air, Chrome soft, just to name a few off the top of my head. For me the biggest question is how consistently you're striking the iron. The main difference I have found between firmer golf balls and softer golf balls is that when you Miss hit the softer golf balls, they forgive you so much more.
"I give my list of five golf balls (or brands) that I think are just a little overrated. " That's not what the title of your video says, so this is inherently blatant clickbait and thus grounds for blocking your channel.
This is absolutely hilarious my friend. So because I included two brands instead of just singular golf balls, you want the channel banned? Thank you so much for watching the video but I have to respectfully disagree with the comment 😂
i’m playing the Nitro Ultimate Distance. 32$ for 45 balls at walmart. shot an 81, didn’t lose a ball. low spin but hey, my ball doesn’t fly all over the place if i miss hit it. don’t care if i lose one. peace of mind does come into play when you’re not stressing over a 5$ ball.
The other thing that a lot of people don't even think about, is the fact that there isn't really a single player using the tp5 on tour they can even get some good performance of it. Rickie Fowler has struggled with it, Rory McIlroy has as well. Scottie schefler refuses to use it. Gives you something to think about
I’m so glad I found your channel. Over the years I have loved trying different golf balls. I play super soft golf balls. Before that I played E6 Lady. When they discontinued the “lady” and went to just E6, I tried them, but there not the same. Im 54 years old, average round is 90 strokes. I have back problems and my swing is 80 mph. I looked at your top 10 video. And I will try the Wilson zip since it’s still available on Amazon. My question is with a swing speed of 78 to 82 miles an hour, Is there a special ball you recommend for such a slow swing speed? Or with your knowledge, could you recommend a golf ball that would be the equivalent of the old E6 lady?
Thank you so much for your question and for watching. So the Wilson zip should be an amazing ball for you then. Really what you want to do is stick to lower compression golf balls that are two piece. Wilson makes actually quite a few of them from the zip, the Wilson Duo, etc. I also love the Avant 55, the Pinnacle soft, and the maxfli soft. All comparable and all really good for that swing speed
I buy optima golf balls from Big W (Australian department store) I get a box of 30 for $28 ive been playing golf for 40 years and i cant tell the difference between them and premium balls that are $7 each
I have swing speed between 105 to 110mph depending on how I feel. I'm a 5.7 handicap. I play Srixon Z Star XV. I play them because they are not that common. They play similar to PROV1. PROV1s are more durable by a long shot. The Srixons will start to split after a round of golf. PROV1s don't tend to do that. I also don't lose many balls. So I have a number of examples of the Srixons getting a crack through the middle. Never been a fan of Taylormade golf balls. I stick with a yellow Srixon z stars and buy 3 dozens when they are on sale. That lasts me more than a year.
With your swing speed and handicap, you could probably play most tour balls. My favorites are Z Star diamond Wilson staff Maxfli tour Vice pro I actually usually have only ok results with pro v on durability
@@GolfBallAddict That may be true. I have been a srixon guy for awhile, but I get prov1s at events for free and I will play them. I am only comparing durability between those 2 as I don't really play any other balls. Durability wise the Srixon is not great.
The best golf ball is the one I used in a sub 80 round. If I shoot in the 70s, I will wear the same shoes/shorts/shirt/hat/combo the next round There are some that I dont like because they feel hard or I dont like the way they logo looks AND I will not even touch a Top Flight let alone use one
LOL that's awesome. My best friend growing up played in tournaments and sometimes I would caddy for him, and when he had a good round he would do everything exactly the same way the next day. Wake up at the same time, eat the same meal, everything
I mean you find them everywhere. It's crazy to me that if you find a ball in the woods there's a 50% chance it's a pro v1. Especially with over 150 different golf ball makers
I give the Pro v1’s away too. Just wish someone was giving me Maxfli Tour S’s back or the MF Tour but there aren’t too many to be found in my area as the nearest Dick’s is an hour away.
Nothing feels as good as a PROV1. Your marketing point about Titlest paying players while true is odd. . I don’t think a pro would play a ball that’s not top quality. He makes his living golfing not playing a ball that doesn’t perform the best.
I can understand that thinking, but it has been proven true. Dustin Johnson was asked what ball he played one time and couldn't even remember the name. Other players have regretted signing to balls. Many players believe there isn't a lot of difference in the balls and will take the money. Which I understand.
Very brave to put this video out, but you are so right. There are golf balls out there which are so forgiving for us average swing speed golfers. I still use the Inesis 900 but also trying the Jayllah ball. Your top 20 list gave many 2 piece balls that are forgiving for the average golfer and cost competitive. People just need to open their eyes and try something that Rory or Tiger would never use.
I've hit a lot of golf balls in my day. This is great info. Titleist does make a good ball but way over priced and overrated . I actually really like that Bridgestone e6 soft.
Thank you very much. I appreciate you taking the time to comment and watch. I'm getting ready to test the new Bridgestone lineup and I've heard really good things. Hoping they make a jump 😃
I don't blame you. I was just telling someone else how not only does srixon continue to provide amazing golf balls across the board, but now their clubs are all in the top three of every division as well. I love the run they're on right now
I love golf and have played since I was a kid, but I definitely dont take it seriously enough to commit to one type of ball or brand of any kind. I can tell a difference now so i wont hit the cheapest balls but i also like to grip it and rip it and if i hit a tree, hopefully it hits it hard lol. I do enjoy these vids though because it keeps me motivated to try things out and have fun.
I disagree with you on the kirkland and I have numbers as well. I hit farther and straighter than pro v1, srixon zstar diamond, also seen other people test it and certainly didn't have same results, but everybody is different
Overtime I've learned them just from having to say them over and over on the channel. But my goodness it's like the Nike balls back in the day. Every year they came out with five new names and it was impossible to identify them.
The Prov1x is the best golf ball. I’ve hit them all. It’s longer and spins great on short shots vi hated pxg The only thing close is Sri xon. Your credibility is zilch.
It might be the best golf ball for you. Which is awesome. Srixon is also good as well. I mean I have four years of testing data and almost 10,000 subscribers. I would say my credibility is pretty decent. If you ever want to expand your mind and truly learn the truth about how golf balls perform, we'd always love to have you on the channel. Otherwise, enjoy your v1 x's
I dont agree in any way at all with number 1. Thats just my opinion because i love the way they feel. edit: The one issue ive found with new ones is they seem to wear out faster than they used to. I played about 25 holes with one and I swear the ball was smooth.
Nothing wrong with that. Like I said I've tried to recommend it to people because I do think it's a good golf ball with an amazing alignment tool option. Nothing wrong with being someone who enjoys that type of feel. We all like different golf balls.
✳️ I discovered the Taylormade Soft Response a great ball for the price in the mid price range ✅ it’s a 3 piece low compression ball at 50 suitable for most players who swing it less than 100mph for the driver ✳️
Hello sir! I would have to disagree with you. I have 4 years worth of data and golf ball reviews that I have done. All of that research, mind you over 120 golf ball reviews, let me to the data from this video. Also, just my opinion, but I find it weird that you complain about the lack of evidence but then complain that I am too chatty. Oh well. Have a great day 😃
Which is fine because again there just so many options now. There's so many brands in stores as well as direct to consumer that people can find the right feel and performance they need
@GolfBallAddict it's like you said. I think people just use pro v1/xs because it's deemed the "best ball" without even knowing why its considered that. #1 ball in golf? More like #1 lost ball in golf!
I hate the Taylormade distance. Bought one dozen and was really disappointed. Found a few Kirkland Ver II and was not impressed with them. Thanks for all of your hard work:)
Thank you so much. I appreciate you taking the time to comment to help this video out. Yes anyone who thinks they might like the TaylorMade distance I've just been telling them to do the speed soft. Way better in my opinion
I agree. I bought a dozen exoecting decent results but thought it was almost false marketing. "Distance" didn't really seem to be a trademark of this ball.
Every time i find a kirkland golf ball i usually throw it back in the hazard or pack it to save for someone else whos prolly gonna lose it after 3 stokes. I like costco but not that much to be a brand idiot 😂
It's funny, people at work now know how much I dislike it, so every time someone leaves one in a cart, which feels like a hundred times a day. They try to give it to me and I throw it in the garbage LOL
LOL I got to make sure to lock my doors at night now 😂 I would absolutely love for Titleist to give me a call. It would be me standing my ground about their golf ball well then proceeding to Fanboy about their clubs and drivers and asking for samples 😂
Why would any sane person make profane and ugly comments because someone did not like a certain golf ball?
They're not sane. They're subhuman with no brains or class. I couldn't believe my ears when Nick mentioned that.
My favorite of all time was on a top flight golf ball. I honestly was laughing so hard I thought I was going to be in tears. I expect certain followings to be really passionate about their golf balls, but never have I had a negative comment to that degree on a top flight. You just never know what you're going to see on here 😂
What about top flight plus? Feels like a rock but always liked them for some reason, very bouncy for sure.
@@GolfBallAddict😂😂😂 Classic
The Supersoft is an excellent option for you. Consider the Snell 2.0 as well.
I am older than you are and like Titleist ok, but found the Vice Tour to be as good.
I think the AVX travels further too
@@GolfBallAddictI’ve recently hit 85,86 and pretty much avg 89 been golfing 2 years.
I agree 100%. If you like the way the golf balls coming off the club and you enjoy how it performs, then keep using it.
@@Barneyrubble241 ooooo I'm gonna order some too lol
So I guess bases on your channel title, maybe I'm the opposite of you, I'm a golf ball skeptic!, lol
Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for your feedback and your assessment. Please let me know how you end up liking the zip. 😃
Good stuff. 😃
Chrome soft is much more forgiving. Agree 100%
I would recommend checking out some of my reviews on the channel. There are Urethane golf balls that can help your distance
Just because they have great vodka and cheap hot dogs, doesn’t mean they have great golf balls.
LOL nothing quite hits like a $1.50 hot dog and drink combo
It never hurts to try it just to see if something performs a little better
Thank you so much for your feedback though, as well as watching and commenting. It helps the video and channel a lot 😁😃
Will always be a WILSON guy. I hope they will still be making the ZIP well into 2025.😸
Look at their website I love the zip too and I don't see it on there looks like the revamped the value balls selection
@@Niftte Some Walmart's carry the ZIP.😸
Have you rated the Wilson Staff Duo Soft for us grumpy old 75 mph guys? Longer than others IMHO.
I have. It's an amazing golf ball and the feedback from consumers has been nothing short of incredible.
I greatly appreciate your honesty and after hearing your review I’ll definitely think twice before just buying Pro-Vs
It's always worth a try to see if anything else fits your needs. Fitting is key.
Thank you so much!😁
I am a golf ball snob. Titleist Pro-V1 and Pro-V1x. Taylor Made TP5 and TP5X. Occasionally I will find Titleist with a members initials. I like to give them back in the locker room.
That's nice of you. Not too many people would do that
What about the Maxfli tour? I’ve played them for years and I really like them.
Great timing. That's actually the golf balls were testing right now. Just did the tour the other day and the tour s. The x model is coming up next
The most engineered piece of tech created to date is the tire that why I usually go with Bridgestone I just assume they put insane energy into their designs
Oh absolutely. Keep in mind that tiger woods loved their engineering so much when they were making the Nike balls that he just stuck with them even after Nike quit.
My favorite is the Bridgestone e6 (29 y.o with 82mph 7iron swing speed)
The e6 performs really well for me. I like it also. We have a similar swing speed
Great...at last some common sense. So many have sold their souls to marketing. Keep up the good work.
Thank you very much. I appreciate the kind comment
I too am a big callaway fan. Love the improvements they have made over the last two years.
@@GolfBallAddict Yes same here. They have done a great job
Vice Pro Plus is my ball of choice. Great soft feel, great distance and the feel with my pitch shots is great. Forgiving ball with performance of more expensive balls. My launch monitor shows better numbers than the ProV1
Completely agree with all of that. It's one of my favorites of 2024 so far
Love the Wilson Triad - 3 pc cast urethane, great distance and soft/spinny around the green. Perfect ball for me.
Appreciate you sharing your feedback. I didn't have much luck with the Triad but I have had dozens of people asking for a re-review after they had the opposite results. I cannot wait to retest it now.
I just play whatever golf balls I find. Suits me fine. :)
@@bobbradford6838 Wrong, but you go with that.
@@nvjohansson9741 Agreed
I'm starting to believe that it really doesn't matter what anyone on RUclips has to say it all comes down to what we like..
@@albertmcreynolds7143 it’s what’s good for your game everyone’s different
The amount of Pro V1s I find in the woods when I inevitably lose my ball is insane.
And not just regular pro v1s, but also old models, really old models, fakes, and refurbished. People do anything to say they're playing one
Couldn’t agree more.. more than 50% of lost balls I find are Pro-V1s….
Same
Never bought a Prov1 in my life. I usually play them because I find so many lol. Great ball
Pro V1,,,, the emperors new clothes. (You probably need to be old like me to understand that one)
LOL I love the reference. I definitely have met a couple of people that that applies to 100%.
Do you remember playing the Balata balls?
Great take here. Love the feedback and couldn't agree more. Consistency is key and it sounds like you've got that baby really dialed in 😁
I disagree. The quality of the Kirkland ball is awful. No one ball is like the other. This is why a tour ball is so much better and why you pay $55-$60 for a dozen of Titleist Golf balls than the cheaper ones, its the quality and consistency ball for ball, that is what you are paying for.
@@digger11000my agreement was for the channel owner saying was Kirkland balls are not good.
@@digger11000 They got you sucked in didn't they.
"The difference between a $1 dollar golf ball and a $3 dollar golf ball --------- is $2 dollars" Leslie Nielsen
Lol you have already made a friend on the channel and me for the comment and the Leslie Nielsen reference 😁😂
That's a completely reasonable take. It's one of the reasons I made the channel.
Kirkland Ball is Junk!!!
Pro v 1 isn't all that like you said it's all about marketing
Thank you so much for the feedback. Personally I adore the vice Pro Plus especially the brand new model. The testing numbers were just insane.
It's part of the territory. I am actually really blessed to have 98% of my comments be amazing people with really constructive feedback and from what I can tell really high intelligence. Not to mention just good down to earth morally sound people.
I'll always get a few guys in here who are trolls. Is what it is I just block them and move on LOL
Yes it is
I agree 100%.
I find so many tp5 and tp5x at a crappy executive golf course. Such a waste of money by deluded people....lol.
Yeah its funny how that works. Play an expensive golf ball to help you play better only to lose 4 of them in the woods on the front 9.
😂😂😂 Thats great. I agree
AVX and Srixon QSTar Tour for me. Low spin bomb (AVX) or stick greens (Srixon). 88mph swing
Nice. I didn't have much luck with the avx, then again I don't have a problem hitting the ball very high in the air. So a lower launching golf ball didn't do much for me
AVX lowers my spin off driver which really helps my distance.
Hard to think of getting something different than the X-12’s huh? I’ve had mine since new in 98, still love them.
Never heard of Galloway clubs..
How can a ball (Kirkland) that costs $1.13 ea. be overrated? Makes no sense to me.
Thank you so much for watching and for your comment. Please please let me know how you end up liking that legato golf ball. 😁
Just weird.
Umm how can you say Bridgestone is overrated when Bridgestone makes the precept laddie extreme
Very small crowd
Now to the Tour line. I just didn't have really any good results with any of them. So get me wrong, they didn't necessarily test bad, they just tested okay to good. Yet I have so many DieHard fans begging me to retest them and also playing them despite they don't have the ability to
Hope that kind of clears my line of thinking a little bit.
Srixon Softfeel user, checking in. 🫡
@@GolfBallAddictYes their new irons are really sharp looking
Supersoft is the most selling 2 piece golf ball on the market.
I love when you put Titleist on blast...makes me feel better for not shelling out the $$$ :) Great vid as always
@@chadthostenson5129 when u said chrome soft u lost all credibility. Yet u go to any amatuer event where not paid 80+% are using them.
Thank you for your time
Thank you for taking the time to watch the video and comment. Really helps the channel out a lot.
I love the maxfli cd ball range either the 90 or the 100.
IMO Titleist sets the market on golf ball prices with their flagship ProV balls. If they up and decided to knock $10 per dozen off the price, every other ball manufacturer would follow suit.
Oh yeah for sure. No one's going to spend more on a dozen golf balls than a pro v.
I love the ink as well. I think they did a phenomenal job with it.
I also really love the Chrome tour and Chrome soft.
Insane 😂
Anybody who cusses someone out because of what is said about a golf ball needs serious counseling.
Oh I agree. I wish I still had the video of the one from the top flight. Some dude absolutely died on the hill for the top flight ball and left it all on the line. LOL I was kind of speechless
Taylor Made distance plus spins good for me and I get good distance too, the three piece Callaway ERC Soft is also a great balls .
Good stuff. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch the video and share your feedback with others 😁
Played ProV1’s and TP5’s… but I’ve been playing the Vice Pro/Pro Plus and I love them.
Especially the new 2024 models. I was absolutely blown away at how amazing they performed
Lol for sure. I love the old Chrome soft. The new one will take a big hit
Thank you so much for your kind words. They mean the world to me. It appears you share a very similar tasting golf balls that I do.
@@GolfBallAddict My top three are Wilson Staff Model, Duo Soft, and Vice Pro.
Just found your channel, and was pleased to see your honesty. I started falling into the Kirkland trap, but found myself playing better with other balls. I am checking out your top 20 next so I can see what to try next... crazy how people get so rude.
Thank you very much for checking out the channel and the reviews. It takes a little time to invest at this point, but I think if you do you'll find amazing results with golf balls you've never heard of 🤠😁
Seems like subs have doubled since the beginning of this year 😎 glad this one’s gotten the views it deserves bro
I'm trying the new Kirkland this season, but i haven't played enough rounds to judge the distance being the ball vs my bad shots.
(Or lessons....... nah 😅)
Sounds like you're definitely on the right track. Thanks so much for sharing your feedback 😁
Everytime I lose a MaxFli I find a Titleist.😂😂😂😂 Quote of the day. Great stuff
Irrespective of your “numbers”, your comments about the Kirklands do not reflect my experience with them. I am quite happy with their performance!
A couple of things to keep in mind here:
For slow swingers I do still recommend lower compression golf balls, however that term is kind of relative.
That's not what the title of your video says, so this is inherently blatant clickbait and thus grounds for blocking your channel.
I guess I will have to give nitro a try😔🥳
I agree I also play nitro ultimate distance! They’re awesome he should check it out
I have used the TM TP5 and 5X. Did not care for them. Too expensive and not much performance.
The other thing that a lot of people don't even think about, is the fact that there isn't really a single player using the tp5 on tour they can even get some good performance of it. Rickie Fowler has struggled with it, Rory McIlroy has as well. Scottie schefler refuses to use it. Gives you something to think about
Still loving the maxfli tours
Don't worry that review is coming.
These balls are underated and are on the Gold Medal list.
An 8 hcp is NOT average!!!
I apologize for any confusion. I meant my swing speed is average, not my handicap.
Either is 90 swing speed for an iron.
Average /= Casual
@@timdesoto3138 I think it's 90mph for driver
I buy optima golf balls from Big W (Australian department store) I get a box of 30 for $28 ive been playing golf for 40 years and i cant tell the difference between them and premium balls that are $7 each
That's awesome. There are some great models that are only a dollar per ball in US. I'm sure aus prices are a little different
My favorites are
Z Star diamond
Wilson staff
Maxfli tour
Vice pro
I actually usually have only ok results with pro v on durability
@@GolfBallAddict That may be true. I have been a srixon guy for awhile, but I get prov1s at events for free and I will play them. I am only comparing durability between those 2 as I don't really play any other balls. Durability wise the Srixon is not great.
Just stumbled onto your channell new subscriber
Welcome aboard!
The best golf ball is the one I used in a sub 80 round. If I shoot in the 70s, I will wear the same shoes/shorts/shirt/hat/combo the next round
There are some that I dont like because they feel hard or I dont like the way they logo looks AND I will not even touch a Top Flight let alone use one
LOL that's awesome. My best friend growing up played in tournaments and sometimes I would caddy for him, and when he had a good round he would do everything exactly the same way the next day. Wake up at the same time, eat the same meal, everything
I have had ProV1's in my bag because they are the ones I most find in the trees. I give them away. It's like hitting a stone.
I mean you find them everywhere. It's crazy to me that if you find a ball in the woods there's a 50% chance it's a pro v1. Especially with over 150 different golf ball makers
@@GolfBallAddict As you say, the power of marketing.
Thank you so much John for the comment. I'm going to get my hands on that j a y l l a h ball one way or another
I've hit a lot of golf balls in my day.
I was testing a lot and always returned to Srixon.
Glad I can provide the entertainment my friend. My channel is for golf ball addicts and also golf lovers in general.

I dont agree in any way at all with number 1. Thats just my opinion because i love the way they feel.
edit: The one issue ive found with new ones is they seem to wear out faster than they used to. I played about 25 holes with one and I swear the ball was smooth.
No worries. You're definitely entitled to your opinion. If you think the ball works for you that's awesome.
I use the tour response 😢😢😢
Nothing wrong with that. Like I said I've tried to recommend it to people because I do think it's a good golf ball with an amazing alignment tool option. Nothing wrong with being someone who enjoys that type of feel. We all like different golf balls.
✳️ I discovered the Taylormade Soft Response a great ball for the price in the mid price range ✅ it’s a 3 piece low compression ball at 50 suitable for most players who swing it less than 100mph for the driver ✳️
That's a good golf ball but I wish the numbers have performed a little bit better.
Way too subjective, unsubstantiated remarks, poorly connected opinions! Chatty too!

No doubt Acushnet is holding a board meeting this week to discuss your refusal and its effects on their market
@GolfBallAddict it's like you said. I think people just use pro v1/xs because it's deemed the "best ball" without even knowing why its considered that. #1 ball in golf? More like #1 lost ball in golf!
