Hi Matthew and thanks for those comments, mostly wild camping but go off on a tangent occasionally and do something totally different, thanks again Pat
"pubs have a holding affect" I might use that line Pat ! Great to see you out wild camping again. I always enjoy your video's. Looking forward to the next one. Maybe a wild camp at some historic location would be cool.
Hi Conner, they seem to fold themselves round you and make you feel so comfortable and relaxed you just don,t want to leave, anyway that's my excuse, hope to back out on another wild camp soon, all the best Pat
Fab stuff. Really like the pace, and the appreciation of the interesting things along the way. Plus the info about food and gear is great, too. Thanks. Looking forward to the kayak!
richtourist hi and thanks, this was a great isolated spot to campmile and miles of moor and all to myself, might get out in the kayak one day, all the best Pat
Great again Patrick! Your videos have the same holding power as a pub. I am amazed that you can get sleeping bag, sleeping mat(?), sleeping bag, tent and cooking gear all in that rucksack. Last time I camped I had it all in panniers on the bicycle and it seemed like a real load, even lifting the bike onto the train! I will load up my hill walking backpack and see how it all looks. Bus card and senior railcard make all things possible. My wife recently presented me with an inflatable pillow: I will take that as a strong hint (of something!lol). Thanks belatedly for a great video.
Terry McGeary Hi Terry yes modern gear has certainly got more lightweight, but the prices have gone up as well. Buying my Senior Railcard was one of the best purchases I made, it encourages me to use the train more and travelling all over. I wish the rail company's could sort things out, should of gone to Liverpool this Sat for a drink but half the journey was on a bus so swapped to Hull only to find out due to strike action last train home ,7 pm so we are going down the road to Chesterfield, should still be a good day out, all the best Pat
You have just made my Sunday Pat.....Bottle of big foot Malbec and watching this old gem........The starting comments about kids and it doesnt get any easier made me chuckle...I have only got one 34 year old and my second grand kid is about to appear very soon and i would die for them without a second thought ....i never think about me because i know deep down that i am a very capable , confident strong willed and multi skilled man BUT i worry a lot about my loved ones and the current state of affairs within the world and freedoms that we took for granted in our generation....Getting out in the Hilleberg is akin to a 6 star luxury retreat for me and being disconnected is a blessing .....you have proved that you cant even escape from 4g here bud but thats useful for watching your class vidz on You Tube.....Really looking forward to your next creative videos and in the meantime i hope you are dancing away with your Mrs ...Thanks so much for all your efforts.
Nice comments Olan, yes your family and kids come first, always, very proud and love mine, but they can be a pain and cause me a lot of worry, but that is life. Enjoying my real at the moment, time to recharge my batteries, and get all my outstanding jobs done, knowing later there will be night back out in my Soulo tent, all the best Pat
"pubs have a holding effect"... Yep, I feel your pain mate. Had a similar situation a couple of years back. It was hard to leave the roaring fire in the Strines Inn... walking into the February drizzle toward a wildcamp near Margery Hill. We must all be barking mad! :-)
David Howard Hi David great place to camp Bleaklow if you like to be on your own and have miles of wild moorland to yourself. Must return there this summer such a great place to camp, thanks Pat
Always a pleasure to watch your videos Patrick. Since I watched you in that bar at Sheffield station, we always make a point of having a few beers in there while we are waiting for our connecting trains. It's a hidden gem! Regards James
Hi James we have a unwritten law that if at the train station you must go in the Sheffield Tap for a pint great way to start any journey, great little pub it is, thanks for comments and watching Pat
Fantastic view. You are extremely fit to do all that walking and carrying mind youn, you do eat well. Keep the videos coming Pat and take care out there.
Great location this if like being on your own, all that open space to myself. Did take me a lot longer to walk there than I thought, certainly slept well, all the best Pat
What a great wild camp Pat, you had the weather for it too ! And my favourite neck of the woods, the peak district, over the years I've searched out and found all the aircraft wrecks on these moors and your wild camping brings back all the great memories. Keep at it as long as you can buddy , and a massive thank you for all you do .
Hi Richard, yes over the years come across a few wrecks, most famous I suppose is Over Exposed, B29 at Higher Shelf Stones, sometimes wonder about all those dead airmen up there....... thanks Pat
Great video Patrick. Fetches back so many bitter sweet memories. Before the onset of arthritis in my hips I spent many happy hours either camping at Grinah stones or sometimes using Round Cabin. Love watching your stuff. Fred Ridall.
Hi Pat, well your dehydrated spag bol looked very good, after all the effort you went to make it and show us how you did it, I'm really pleased!! I seem to recall breakfasting on Alpen musili when we were out with the scouts but when we went camping in family we used to dine on dehydrated Paella 🥘🥘. I loved it but my wife can't believe that's what we used to eat!! Another great video, very enjoyable. PS watching this on the HST from Granada to Madrid at 242Kmph!!
The train sounds fantastic David and at what a speed, , dehydrated food has its places a lightweight alternative, but will never beat real food......Pat
Hi and thanks for the sub much appreciated, my site is mainly wild camping but can go off on a tangent if something interesting takes my interest. I find it all interesting doing the camp, the ideas, the filming and then the editing back home. Thanks again all the best Pat
Just discovered your channel Tim and have now subscribed. I wild camped on Bleaklow about 10 years ago. A lovely evening, then next morning the cloud had come down and I could hardly see to the other side of the tent. I walked off on a compass bearing and made my way via Torside Clough and the reservoir to the campsite at Crowden, where I was the only camper. Good memories. Best wishes, Noel
Pat you have a fantastic vibe to your videos. you clearly love what you are doing! Last night I watched your 'home pub' video, some man for the pints! hup ya boya. respect from Ireland.
Thanks Alan, my Chanel is more about wild camping and exploring underground, but, I like to follow my other interest, is beer and the new pub, thanks Pat
No wonder it's difficult walking after a good meal. You where going up hill. Lovely location. Right about the gets worse lol never stop worrying about them. Beautiful to watch the camping thanks
Hi Paul ,cooking is a major part of any wildcamp for me, cooking a great meal on a little stove is what camping is about and I enjoy the food, all the best Pat
Doug Thomas Hi Doug this was the third time I,be seen the Lanc fly over the dams on the anniversary hopefully they will do a fly past in the future, although I think majority of aircrew are no longer with us, hero's they all were, all the best Pat
Always great entertainment watching your adventures. Your right about kids a doesn't get any easier :-P but wouldn't have it any other way. Great job on the food. It was relaxing for me to watch this. Great video, really enjoyed it, thank you Patrick. Stay safe.
Hi and thanks for comments, kids who'd have them, hopefully should get better as they get older, looking forward to another camp soon, all the best Pat
Thanks for posting this. Just returned from a hike up there today (from Birchin Clough, via Alport Moor then headed West to the B29 wreckage). Very remote, even more so as the mist dropped on occasion. Didn't see a soul all day. Great to see a vid of the area, so thanks again :-)
Hi Jon yes great area for remoteness, when that mist comes down so easy to get lost as I have found out on previous occasions but still a great area, especially if you like having the place to yourself, all the best Pat
+Patrick Dickinson. yes, it's the wild and away from everything feeling that's great. I can certainly relate to the "I'm a bit knackered now" statement too. I think it's the fact there's no paths, and crossing all the peat gullies and groughs. Having said all that, I love it up there, watching the mountain hares and soaking in the views and peace and quiet. Looking forward to seeing your next trip.
Ey up, Pat. You are getting all philosophical on us. LOL. You're bloody right about kids though. Babies are the easy phase. ;o) Looked like an excellent camp, with no rain, for a change. All the best.
Hi and thanks for comments, great to get away from family life if only for 24 hours and a nice peaceful location, must get out again soon, all the best Pat
Another great video, great scenery , love the bit about older kids skill waking you up in the night, just like my house.... I needs to wild camp more aswell😜
Hi Dougie, it amazes me how well the dehydrated pasta kept as its over a year old and tasted so good, hope to try some different foods in the future, all the best Pat
Hello Pat. As usual a smashing video. For the first time in many years I finally took the plunge and returned to the hills and choose Edale, what a beautiful village. But I realized that after thirty years although the mind is eager, the body had a lot of catching up to do. It did not help with the weather swelteringly hot and although there were clouds around, none would drift over to where I was standing. Finally came down from Grindslow Knoll back into Edale, blistered foot and aching shoulders with an overloaded back pack. Took two hours to get enough fluid back in my system at "The Old Nags Head" now I understand that "Holding effect". Look forward to your next video.
Hi Daren, I know how you feel I sometimes don,t go out for a while then go on a challenging walk and camp and you feel its gonna kill you when climbing up, but once up there its all worth it and those pints would of tasted great because you had earnt them, all the best Pat
Another great video Patrick, I know the area well walk a lot around bleak low, but never done the wild camp, keep up the good work always enjoy watching your film.
Hi Tony yes a great area to walk and camp so remote for this area, I walked past so many great camp spots will be returning later I,am sure, all the best Pat
Hi Pat, so glad I found your channel. With living and working in Australia I really miss the British countryside (including the pub's) and your short films and commentary are a real treat. Thank you and keep up the great work.
Hi Rob, I bet it was hot up there yesterday, but hopefully there was a gentle breeze to keep you cool, such a wild and remote place absolutely wonderful, thanks for comments and watching Pat
Patrick just finished this route and wild camped up at Grinah Stones. Boy it was a good challenging wake especially from the Ridge to Grinah. But well worth only saw one person at the trig point. Coming back along the reservoir was a nice change and a bit easier. Thanks for the ideas and keep them coming. Atb Dave
Hi Dave yes tough walk from Ladybower up to Grinah, I intended making it to Bleaklow stones but too far. Grinah was amazing, great spot so isolated, such beautiful views all the best Pat
Thanks for another great movie Pat - your stuff always cheers me up. It’s the ultimate bloke-camping 😁👍. Have you visited the almost blocked Thurgoland Tunnel? Another light-painting opportunity perhaps.
A thoroughly wonderful watch and listen Patrick. Such a stunning, remote and tranquil location away from the so called ''real' world. Places like this are the antidote. Thank you for sharing. Happy wandering. Paul :)
Hi Paul yes it was about as remote as you can get in the Peak District a great place to just sit and listen to the grouse and curlews and a gently breeze blowing across the heather, thanks for kind comments and watching PaT
Thanks for the reply Pat. I have watched those also and they were so informative and interesting. Loved to see the great pics using the light painting. Cant wait for the next vid already
I’m getting ready for you to do another wild camp pat👍I must av watched all your other wild camp videos a dozen times each, can’t wait for the next episode👏👏👏all the best for 2019,baz👍
Hiya Pat as new subscriber I am working my way through your videos, Have to say this valley is one of my favourite places. Used to take my children here and now I'm taking my Grandchildren to the same place. Us Sheffielders are spoiled with this countryside so close aren't we? Love your vids and if I see you around I'll stand you a pint. Cheers Pat..
Hi Dominic yes if you want remoteness and peace and quite then Bleaklow is the place to be a little bit of wilderness not far from the cities, thanks for watching Pat
Hi Glenn yes when ever I see a grouse or similar fly up I tent to take a shot at it with an invisible gun, I do get a few strange looks though, thanks for comments and watching Pat
Hi Dominic, had a few kayaks over the years buy one then sell it, then realize I want another. Got a dagger blackwater 10.5 and thought I might try a video in it next few months we will see, all the best Pat
Hi Pat great to see you out camping again, the tunnel vids were interesting but camping & walking in the hills is my thing...I agree nothing more relaxing than getting out for a camp to recharge the batteries & have some time to reflect can't beat it.Think iv'e said before too i don't know where you put all that snap i'd be bursting.Been up Grinah many times walking but never camped up there,i guess it's a spot for the list of places to camp. great vid Pat & looking forward to your'e next camp.tfs & atb..Andy.
Hi Andrew yes Grinah and surrounding area great to camp as about as remote as you can get in the Peak District. Once on the moors did,nt see anybody so nice if you like the place to yourselve like I do, thanks again Pat
Nice one Pat. I have watched this video several times over the years! You walked "miles" for that trip! I'm not sure the bus runs every day any more. There is a Sunday service I have found which goes over Snake Pass and goes up to Fairholms and back before heading on to Sheffield. I've been planning a trek of my own but it needs a return bus ride, so I will have to do it Saturday night for a Sunday return bus trip. Anyway, Thank you for your recent (Dec 23) pub chat video. Looking forward to your next adventure - whatever it is. All the best for 2024 :) Warren
Hi Warren yes had some great camps up there but getting there and back always a problem, but if you can get up there worth it for the isolation and pure wild area, really enjoyed my travels these recent months, going to take a bit to settle back into simple wild camping but hope to find a happy medium......see you on the next one...... thanks Pat
good vid patrick . you had along walk up . no wonder you had a feast upthere lol .its one of the best wildcamping spots in the peak district . fantastic views all around .bleaklow stones is even better and its only a short walk away .the ground there is flatter making for a good pitch
Hi Kev my original plan was to camp at Bleaklow stones but after dropping down for the water could not face the long slog up to Bleaklow Stones chose Grinah as on my return journey route. like yo say great remote spot, will be trying Bleaklow Stones in future, thanks for comments all the best Pat
Nigel Dance Hi Nigel nice to hear from Canada, thanks for the comment much appreciated, I , am jealous of the amount of snow you get, lucky if we get any at all, all the best Pat
Nice to see you back on vid Pat, mist ya. As you say the theme is the tricky bit because once you've done one, the next is just a repeat of the same more or less! Showing us round different locations with local info is always good though. ATB.
Hi Pete yes it was difficult to vary the camps so like you say different locations add a bit of flavor to a video, also extreme weather conditions certainly make a good video, definitely will be back out soon, all the best Pat
great pal as usual nice to see you back above ground and totally get your comments about the older children as I've got 4 ! was up that way a couple of months ago not quite as nice weather, but that's just our good old peak district . anyhow keep up the good work .👍
Hi Andrew wow 4 I can,t be having it that bad then. Great up on Bleaklow and Kinder if you want peace and quite planning my next trip already, thanks for comments and watching Pat
Hi Kevin, yes I could imagine but that oil gives the sauce a nice thick texture and in winter will help keep you warm as your body burns up the oil, thanks for watching and comments Pat
Another beautiful video. Have you ever been to the Galloway area of Southern Scotland - very unspoiled and some beautiful scenery too (and hardly people around too as everyone heads straight for the highlands and misses some of the most lovely scenery in Scotland in the process).
Hi Phyllis, i ,ve looked at many times on the map but like you say we headed straight up to the highlands, will be a place to visit hopefully in the future, thanks for info Pat
Nice one Pat! I always have a look on google earth to see where you are or have been by the time i watch these videos! The rice pudding didnt do it for me but that was the only bit. Looked like a really remote spot you had there. Well done looking forward to the next video, it beats the tv by a million miles.
Yes really remote, that,s what attracts me to the location. I was actually up there last night at Bleaklow Stones about half a mile away, the wettest camp I have ever been on, video will follow soon, thanks Pat
Hi I tend to do a train journey every couple of months so may and try video another if its a little bit different, thanks for comments and watching Pat
Hi Pat, Another great vid mate. I was up around the Derwent Dam just before Christmas for a short 9-miler trying to get a few snaps on the new camera. It really is a special place. I travel from Derby to walk up the Dark Peaks n the problem is I do the walks then end up in the pub ( Normally The Old Nags Head - Castleton, it’s a cracking food n ale house) but can’t partake due to having to driving back home. So you’re now responsible for my transition to wild camping starting this spring. I’ve told the missus it’s all your fault 😂 Anyway mate please keep the vids coming as they’re always interesting & informative. A real pleasure to view. All The Best - Russ-
Russ Lynch Hi Russ I take full responsibility, ha ha staying out after a walk and a few pints go together great and some time on your own away from everyday worry,s can,t beat it. Enjoy your camping and a few beers all the best Pat
Hi Patrick. Excellent video. Strangely enough, I've been to the Mohne, Eder and sorpe dambuster dams in Germany, but not to Derwent dam, which is only a few miles away. Looking forward to your next video :-)
Hi Billy defiantly worth a visit up the Derwent valley usually see many bikes in the area, there is a cafe at Fairholmes just below the dam so makes for great day out on your bike, all the best Pat
Great vid Pat, cheers. That's my favourite area for cycling and walking, but I take my 17 yr old son with me. It's the only time he leaves the couch. We seem to only go up to Derwent edge side though, we must try the other side this summer.
Hi Steve, my two have,nt been out with me for years, both camped with me when young and both been through scouts, but seem to have other interests at moment, when I ,ve gone they will probably realize what a great time they had, thanks and all the best Pat
I had a laugh about your kids coming home in the early hours of the morning. I can relate to that. We’d be going to bed and they’d be going out for the night. Those days are past though. They’ve got kids of their own so they’ll get there turn. A thing I noticed was that you said “tea” for your evening meal, which is what my wife and I say. Our grandparents come to Australia from various parts of Britain so I guess we’ve continued the tradition. There is a tendency now for people to say “dinner” for the evening meal which is what we used to say when we meant “lunch”. Dinner was lunch but seemed to imply something a bit more substantial.
Hi Jeff, I still have my youngest at home, still get woken up, but only occasionally I,am pleased to say. At home always had dinner at dinnertime and tea at 5....but work and life changes, more lunch then dinner at teatime now..... thanks Pat
Hi Simon this was a great spot just for the feeling of isolation, must try Bleaklow Stones in the future, that is where I was originally heading, all the best Pat
ged mcgaffin Hi Ged Just having a pints at Manchester Picadilly train station having been stuck on France last couple of days due to terrorist attack, Pat
Yes was a great spot, Bleaklow stones just a bit further away sounds a good spot as well may get views of Manchester from up there, hope to try in future, all the best pat
Watched it again. Tell us more about your camping equipment. What you like and don't like about it. (Thanks for informing me about the Hilleberg tents. See one in my future but which one) what's the history of the land, how do you come by access, what's the land used for? Think about what you take for granted and ask if we should know also. But whatever you do keep exploring. Thanks
Mr. Dickinson, your videos have convinced me that I've got to go myself. Maybe our paths will cross one day - when I finally make it to the UK. Regards, Kev
Oh, you did make me laugh regarding teenagers! Mine is exactly the same. My escape is taking myself off to the local AONB and going for a run over the trails - peace and quiet, great views and some great solo time.
Great video Pat, all familiar territory to me too. Must have taken ages to set the shots up, going back for the camera, editing back home etc. Watched your other video Marsden to Edale via Wildboarclough, again having to scramble up the gully then go back for your camera must have been a pain, no wonder you were knackered by the time you got to Edale. I think it would be good to do the latter in a couple of stages, perhaps camping overnight at Bleaklow Hill? Anyhow, keep on enjoying the great outdoors and thanks for sharing all these adventures. ATB Dave.
Hi david yes takes a bit of time going back and forth and setting camera up but difficult not to film each part. Marsden to Edale i wanted to do in one go, but to enjoy it more a overnight camp would be the answer, thanks for watching and comments all the best Pat
Ha ha yes kids hey Patrick been there and all married off now! Great video as ever buddy. Keep walking as it's great for the constitution, take care friend. Dr PAUL.
Hi Mark yeah know how you feel sometimes I experiment a bit with my dehydrator or different foods but if you a bit rushed you can,t beat a nice piece of rib-eye steak for taste and filling you up, thanks for comments and watching Pat
NickOnDartmoor hi Nick and thanks for subbing, hope you enjoy my channel, mostly wild camping but bits of exploring and train travel at times, all the best Pat
Hi David the area is very remote for the Peak District but that's the beauty of it, camping by the stream looked an idyllic spot but I was a bit worried about the midges, I shall be back out there soon, all the best Pat
Hi Pat, I had to laugh to myself when I saw you go into the grouse butt. I wondered if you would pretend you had a shotgun in your hands and then you made the move. I would say that was a classic right and left on driven grouse:) Nice camp. All good. Sandy
Hi Sandy can,t resist, I often shoot a imaginary gun get some strange looks as well, I never grew up from when we played as kids. There was a problem with this as someone pointed out as it was June I ,am afraid I shot the grouse , out of season, Ha Ha, Pat
Yes 12th August onwards Pat is the recognised season for grouse. But the other grouse is fine out of season. The Famous grouse:) You can have a shot of that any time of year:)
dear patrick ok thats live no stress . i enjoy every min of the video .verry good .grts from belgium danny
Yes beautiful up there, you have the place to yourself.......Pat
Superb video (along with the rest of your videos!). Thoroughly enjoyable!
Hi Matthew and thanks for those comments, mostly wild camping but go off on a tangent occasionally and do something totally different, thanks again Pat
Patrick Dickinson, the most interesting man in the world!
Fred Durst Hi Fred and thanks for that much appreciated, which I was out there now, all the best Pat
Living the life man! All the best to you as well!
@@freddurst6204 yo.are you a sour kraut, or are you being ironic?? .x
Why do you go with that name. For one he's a dickhead and for two THATS not your name.
You need to meet more people

Great to have you along, I so wish I could be up there now, all the best Pat

Paul Young Hi Paul, beer and a warm fire, you were lucky to get out, you could of been there for days, all the best Pat
Paul Young all you have to do is lay your hat, dude. Then the pub is yours!
Pubs ALWAYS HAVE A MAGNETIC ATTRACTING FORCE. DRAWS YOU IN.
loving the wild camping videos and the outdoor cooking, fabulous views and that is a selfie stick looking forward to more adventures.
David Howard Hi David great place to camp Bleaklow if you like to be on your own and have miles of wild moorland to yourself. Must return there this summer such a great place to camp, thanks Pat
Many thanks for this Pat. A great view. So much better than Christmas telly. Happy New Year to you.
Ben H Hi Ben yes this was a great camp for the isolation, nobody for miles around, hopefully back out camping in new year, all the best for 2018. Pat
Always a pleasure to watch your videos Patrick. Since I watched you in that bar at Sheffield station, we always make a point of having a few beers in there while we are waiting for our connecting trains. It's a hidden gem!

The milks gone strange 🤣🤣🤣🤣bloody marvellous Pat,cheers Dan 👍
It certainly did go strange, can, t win them all, thanks Pat
Nice to see you on the go again. Great video......always look forward to your rambles.
Ian Gorner Hi Ian yes great to be out Wildcamps camping again, got afew more camping trips planned for next couple of months, all the best Pat
Good to see you again, love the way you started your hike a few pints and pie and chips, even some veg. Fantastic scenery .
Hi and thanks for comments was not easy leaving that pub, but set me up for the long climb up thanks again Pat
Thanks for sharing your adventures with us Pat. We always enjoy watching them,
Hi Tim, was nice to get away from the stresses of modern life if only for 24 hours, thanks for watching Pat
What a great wild camp Pat, you had the weather for it too ! Sorry! I meant Pat, not Tim! Old age mate.
So much fun watching this Paddy.
Good to hear, and such a great place to pitch……thanks Pat
Great to see you back out in the lovely countryside Patrick.
Hi yes the countryside was beautiful and lush at this time of the year, such a great remote camp , all the best Pat
Great video Patrick, the dehydrated food works well, nice to see you out camping again !
Hi Chris yes its great to be back out camping again got a few more trips planned thanks for comments and watching Pat

No wonder it's difficult walking after a good meal. You where going up hill. Lovely location. Right about the gets worse lol never stop worrying about them. Beautiful to watch the camping thanks
This was a great site for isolation, nobody for miles around. A great place to recharge your batteries and go home feeling refreshed, thanks Pat
Love your cooking parts Patrick & I get as chilled as you watching your videos take care mate
Hi Paul ,cooking is a major part of any wildcamp for me, cooking a great meal on a little stove is what camping is about and I enjoy the food, all the best Pat
That was a very interesting tidbit about the Dambusters Raid. Love the beautiful country around Sheffield. Thanks Pat for the video. Well done.
Doug Thomas Hi Doug this was the third time I,be seen the Lanc fly over the dams on the anniversary hopefully they will do a fly past in the future, although I think majority of aircrew are no longer with us, hero's they all were, all the best Pat
Love your videos. Your a inspiration .Thanks Patrick.
thanks James, this is a great area if you like isolation, like I do, thanks Pat
Babies are the easy phase. ;o)
Looked like an excellent camp, with no rain, for a change.
Hi David yes a great location I saw many other great places to camp so hope to return later in the year, thanks for watching and comments Pat
Enjoyed this video looking forward to u going int pubs and tasting beers I like these kind of videos
Yes Andy, anything to do with beer seems very popular, all the best Pat
Great to see Pat, cracking spot and the rehydrated pasta looked really fresh. ATB from Scotland mate. 👍🏼
Hi Dougie, it amazes me how well the dehydrated pasta kept as its over a year old and tasted so good, hope to try some different foods in the future, all the best Pat
Patrick Dickinson cheers. Good to see you back again.
Archie 1979 Hi Archie nice to hear from Australia, you can,t beat a British pub and the beer, call the best Pat
Beautiful country side.....nice lonely spot to crash....groovy vid...thanks...
jack flak Hi Jack I remember this camp for the isolation, several sq miles all to yourself with nobody about, great it was, all the best Pat
Great video Patrick. Lovely spot too, was up there yesterday walking and remembering my first camp at Grinah back in '95.
Hi Rob, I bet it was hot up there yesterday, but hopefully there was a gentle breeze to keep you cool, such a wild and remote place absolutely wonderful, thanks for comments and watching Pat
very enjoyable and relaxing video to watch .great stuff thanks
Hi I was after a quite and relaxing camp and that remote location at Grinah stones gave me that, thanks for watching Pat
love watching all your wild camping trips 😎👍
Hi Darren, missed camping over last few months but had a few drains to explore, hope to be back out soon, all the best Pat
Hi Phil yes I know about Thurgoland tunnels, old and new and it's on my list, only short but should give some interesting photos, thanks for tip, Pat
Great vid as always, i have missed your wild camps. Keep up the good work
Hi Karl, yes been busy going down the drains under city of Sheffield hope to get a few wild camps in know, thanks for watching Pat
Thanks for the reply Pat. I have watched those also and they were so informative and interesting. Loved to see the great pics using the light painting. Cant wait for the next vid already
You've got the right idea!!!! For sure!!!!
I’m getting ready for you to do another wild camp pat👍I must av watched all your other wild camp videos a dozen times each, can’t wait for the next episode👏👏👏all the best for 2019,baz👍
Hi Barry yes the drains and tunnels keep drawing me in, but hopefully out wildcamping soon, all the best. Pat
Nice to see you back out wild camping Patrick. Good stuff.
Hi Teff its great to be back out, been exploring the storm drains under Sheffield but can,t beat a wild camp I,ve missed them, all the best Pat
Bleaklow looks like a great place to go for a wild camp, very remote. Great video! Dominic
Hi Dominic yes if you want remoteness and peace and quite then Bleaklow is the place to be a little bit of wilderness not far from the cities, thanks for watching Pat
Nice video Pat, love the invisible shot gun.. looking forward to whatever comes next.
Hi Glenn yes when ever I see a grouse or similar fly up I tent to take a shot at it with an invisible gun, I do get a few strange looks though, thanks for comments and watching Pat
great video Patrick look forward to a kayak/wild camp video all the best Dominic.
Enjoy seeing your country side Patrick , funny you starting near a pub a few times. CHEERS !
John fever Hi John always a good spot to start from, sometimes difficult to leave though, thanks Pat
Hi Warren yes had some great camps up there but getting there and back always a problem, but if you can get up there worth it for the isolation and pure wild area, really enjoyed my travels these recent months, going to take a bit to settle back into simple wild camping but hope to find a happy medium......see you on the next one...... thanks Pat
Another great video for us ! Well done Sir
Hi Mick glad you enjoyed video and thanks for watching Pat
good vid patrick . you had along walk up . no wonder you had a feast upthere lol .its one of the best wildcamping spots in the peak district . fantastic views all around .bleaklow stones is even better and its only a short walk away .the ground there is flatter making for a good pitch
Really enjoy watching your videos mate, keep em coming as i think i've watched them all now. :)
you made an amazing wild camp in there.i enjoyed every single minute watching it , many thanks for that Patrick
Hi and thanks for comments it was nice to get out camping again thanks Pat
Perfect! Beautiful scenery 👍👍👍
free life : )
Yeah it was beautiful up there and so quit as well, thanks for watching Pat
Love your videos Pat. Very enjoyable. (Hamilton, Ontario)
ATB.
Hi Pete yes it was difficult to vary the camps so like you say different locations add a bit of flavor to a video, also extreme weather conditions certainly make a good video, definitely will be back out soon, all the best Pat
looking forward to more!
great pal as usual
nice to see you back above ground and totally get your comments about the older children as I've got 4 !
was up that way a couple of months ago not quite as nice weather, but that's just our good old peak district .
anyhow keep up the good work .👍
Hi Andrew wow 4 I can,t be having it that bad then. Great up on Bleaklow and Kinder if you want peace and quite planning my next trip already, thanks for comments and watching Pat
Nice vid Patrick wife not keen on olive oil should have seen her face! Keep the vid's coming Kevin.
If you pass through Gretna, which of course you would have to do by road, I could happily give you a cuppa!
Hi Phyllis, if I ,am ever up that way that would be nice, often travelling about on the trains, thanks Phyllis
Thanks Pat. A friend of mine does a lot of dehydrated camp food. I must say it is delicious especially in the middle of nowhere!
Yes I was so surprised with my first dehydrated meal.....tasted so real and good..... thanks Pat
Hello , hope to see the next video soon , nice and relaxing to watch
Hi Craig, nice isolated spot this, should be out wildcamping later this month, thanks Pat
Nice one pat👍 Once again great video but also enjoy the train rides so keep em coming.
Hi I tend to do a train journey every couple of months so may and try video another if its a little bit different, thanks for comments and watching Pat
great video as ever, thank you
Hi Steve, great to be out again, planning my next trip now, thanks Pat
Once again, fantastic!
Hi Steve and thanks it was a nice relaxed camp once I had climbed up there all the best Pat
Have stayed at Yorkshire Bridge before when last the area 2 years ago now. Great video. 👍
Nice pub and nice place to stay, amount 400 meters from Ladybower Plughole ! ..... Pat
Pat I'm on the 3rd or 4th watch of ur videos now mate 👍
That,s great that Lee, hope your enjojing them , another one on this evening, thanks Pat
At home always had dinner at dinnertime and tea at 5....but work and life changes, more lunch then dinner at teatime now..... thanks Pat
Nice work Pat keep em coming
Hi Simon this was a great spot just for the feeling of isolation, must try Bleaklow Stones in the future, that is where I was originally heading, all the best Pat
Going up to Kinder This week from Hayfield to Edale and yes my girls are are always calling stupid times at night once a |Dad always a Dad lol
Two pint philosophy. Or possibly three or four. Love your videos. Thanks.
ged mcgaffin Hi Ged Just having a pints at Manchester Picadilly train station having been stuck on France last couple of days due to terrorist attack, Pat
My kind of hike / wild camp... Starting off in the pub, couple of pints and nice hearty food. Am sure you soon walked it off! :D
Yeah I was starving by tea time but luckily had catered with a three course meal, great location, thanks for watching Pat
Beautiful place to camp-thanks for the vid!
Thanks
Top man, great wild camp!
Hi this was a great isolated spot to camp, will return one day, thanks Pat
nice one Pat, ive been waiting for your next wild camp for a longtime mate :) cant wait to see this. atb best
Hi Paul, left it a while too long but got interested in exploring drains, hope to be out again soon thanks for comments and watching Pat
Mr. Dickinson, your videos have convinced me that I've got to go myself.
Maybe our paths will cross one day - when I finally make it to the UK.
Regards,
Kev
Hi Kev, you never know, we may meet one day, thanks Pat
Oh, you did make me laugh regarding teenagers! Mine is exactly the same. My escape is taking myself off to the local AONB and going for a run over the trails - peace and quiet, great views and some great solo time.
Hello Ruth yes you have to get away for time on your own, a bit of a escape thanks Pat
Excellent 🍲 🍴. Great vlog 👍. Beautiful landscapes. Relaxing vid. Good to be out 🚶⛺☺️. Tks for sharing. Crack on 👍.
Hi Carlos yes defiantly great to be back out and such a great location miles from any where, will be back out soon all the best Pat
Patrick Dickinson, "miles from any where," ☺ I know that feeling 👍.
Just catching up on some of your old videos, beauitful area around that dam ,
Yes the wild countryside round Derwent Dam is amazing, a great place to loose yourself, must return soon, thanks Pat
Ha ha yes kids hey Patrick been there and all married off now! Great video as ever buddy. Keep walking as it's great for the constitution, take care friend. Dr PAUL.
DrTeno Guy Hi Paul yes mine will probably fly the best next couple of years, will miss them, thanks Pat
Great vid Pat. I wish I was a bit more adventurous with my food while I was out. Just have the same stuff everytime I go out. Maybe one day. ATB.
Hi Mark yeah know how you feel sometimes I experiment a bit with my dehydrator or different foods but if you a bit rushed you can,t beat a nice piece of rib-eye steak for taste and filling you up, thanks for comments and watching Pat
Great work Pat.
Thanks Stephen, this is the place to go if you like being on your own, just beautiful, thanks Pat
As always...a pleasure, thanks Patrick.
Hi glad you enjoyed the video it was a great location miles form anywhere, so peaceful and great views, hope to be out again soon, all the best Pat
Pat, just a quick note ... re-enjoying these again, now 1 year into lockdown. Hope you’re well mate and chin wag soon!
Hi Richard, yes it's been a long year, good to look back at a more normal time, hopefully those times will be with us soon, thanks Pat
thanks for the video diaries Patrick
Glad you enjoy my vidios, Igwt great fun and enjoyment out of making them, all the best Pat
The heather circles are heather management for grouse shooting, usually controlled burning
Just recently found you and subbed. Loving going trough your videos!
NickOnDartmoor hi Nick and thanks for subbing, hope you enjoy my channel, mostly wild camping but bits of exploring and train travel at times, all the best Pat
Patrick Dickinson It's all good. I'm a wild camper myself. Manly Dartmoor and coastal camps.
NickOnDartmoor You have some nice countryside down there, thanks Pat
Nice one Pat cheers. Been looking at the map for a bit of a night out, interesting.
Hi David the area is very remote for the Peak District but that's the beauty of it, camping by the stream looked an idyllic spot but I was a bit worried about the midges, I shall be back out there soon, all the best Pat
Hi Pat,
I had to laugh to myself when I saw you go into the grouse butt.
