Hey Patrick: I always love your videos. In this one, your post-meal pudding prep reminded me of many solo snow bivoucs in Vermont, U.S. in the 70's, preparing pre-meal instant chocolate pudding and burying the pot in snow, then cooking up some steaming noodle side dish, and afterwards pulling out the pudding pot and taking off the lid and, amazed it set so firm, spooning the goodness into me mouth. There is nothing finer!! You are a Taoist British mountain hermit, occasionally coming down off the peak to bring us wisdom and joy. Thank you for that. Cheers!!
Hi and nice to look back to old adventures, surprising what tasty food you can produce out on a camp. The woodland is a nice place at this time of year, full of wildlife and quite sheltered, back on to the hills soon, all the best Pat
Hi Patrick, It goes to show what ‘being in a peaceful place, or environment’ means to different people. I get solace from sitting alone, at my bench inside my workshop. Nonetheless, Like you, I also enjoy walking in the countryside. In my head, I have a ten out of ten argument with ‘adversaries’; think about my next electronics restoration project, and think about all the possible beautiful women I might have dated during my twenties if I was as bright as what I like to think I am these days - I wish LOL! One reason I enjoy seeing your wild camping ,and subterranean adventures is a sort of alter ego for me in the sense the friends I associated with were content being in the student pubs around the University of Sheffield, Broomhill, and Huntersbar, and I never had confidence to go wild camping alone. You, certainly as a younger person, did the outdoor things I dreamt of doing. Suffice it to say, I recently took a walk not far from Silverdale School ( I went there during the second half of the 1960s), and imagined what it would be like to set up a wild camp in a secluded part of the wooded areas. I have to say, the idea appealed to me immensely, especially if I had my HF handheld transceiver with me LOL. Another enjoyable video my friend. Regards, Phil (the old valve radio man).
Hi Phil remember you from the tip, nice to hear from you again, hope the valve radio restoration is going well, good to have a indoor hobby at this time, the way the country is with worrying virus at the moment. I think we all have things we wish we could of done, but that's part of life, hope everything goes well for you Phil, all the best Pat

Good decision not travelling. Good to hear that you are OK. You are an inspiration to many others who might decide to follow in your footsteps and do a bit of camping under some trees not far from home while they have been ordered to keep their distance from others.
You know when it's a Sir pat production it will be a great camp which it was. You sir Pat are a action man who always make my day. Every Time you cook rib eye steak a want to go and get one. Thanks for another great vid and be careful out there.
Thank you for another lovely video Pat ... and bringing a little bit of calm to the otherwise stormy world we’re currently inhabiting. The perfect prescription.
Very educative and entertaining. Particularly at this stressfull times. Simple and enjoyable night out. I learnt one doesn't have to camp with loads of items.
Another cracking video Pat, could watch it all night, thanks for all your efforts, just what I needed today. Looking forward to more wild camping videos. Thanks Dave.
Such a boost getting the notification that Pat had a new video. Brilliant production and content as always and above all, so good to spend some time in his company.
Hi Pat, I went for a long solo hike yesterday with my tree climbing gear and saddle in a backpack, climbed a couple of fantastic trees near the cliffs with an amazing view out over Puget Sound, and it was great to forget the stress and worry. I am just North of Seattle and the virus is moving steadily towards us here. We have been told now to regard any other person near us as potentially having it. But it was good to get out, breathe some fresh air, and remember to just carry on. We are taking the proper precautions, with no exceptions, but aside from that life goes on and one appreciates each sunny day. Best wishes to you for a safe passage thru this, Pat.
Hi Stewart, lovely to hear from you, missing the outdoors due to lockdown, all for our good and our NHS, like the lull before the storm, such bad news in Italy and Spain, we maybe next. Not seen any of my friends for 2 weeks now, here,s to happier times and camps, all the best Pat

Hi Pat, Great to see you again. Many spring sounds, that's wonderful. This is a time that requires creativity, think you've got plenty of that . Stay save, cheers
Thanks for this Pat. I used to do a lot of wild camping. Once I was in Glen Tilt in the Highlands (days walk from civilisation) and during the night heard a noise in my outer tent. I just had to look and it was a stag licking an empty tin. In the morning it stayed with me and I gave it some breakfast. Friendly chap.
Pat. I haven’t watched the video yet but thanks again for posting. I look out everyday fir new videos. Fantastic. Stay safe and well and thanks again for a few minutes of quality time. Cheers . Mike.👍

Good to see you got a chair, Pat. I use one when camping but I remote camp with a vehicle. Yours looks quite portable, though. I can send you a photo if you like. This was a particularly relaxing camp out. Good to see you "smelling the roses." I could actually smell the treacle when the sponge made that perfect touchdown in the TFE coated pan. (Careful using a steak knife on TFE. Tetrafluoroethylene probably should not be eaten.) We do not commonly have treacle here and it has been several decades since I last smelled it but the memory came back to me all the same. This video was perfect, as other viewers have also said, being such a welcome break from the challenges being faced in both our countries and many others. I am going to go watch this video again, now.

Andy Paterson as far as I can tell this was filmed before the “dont travel and stay home” ADVICE was issued ??? I was out Saturday before it was issued. I headed straight home upon hearing it however there were swarms heading TOWARDS the lakes.
Hi Pat is these troubled times it's nice to see that your making the best of it bringing another great video for us to watch, all the best stay safe!
Yes enjoyed this one lucky to get it in before lockdown, all the best Pat
Tell me about the blue bells, Spanish or Native. Tell me about where you are and what you think about it and anything else. Watching you cook and eat is ...well...boring. Sorry.

Good decision not travelling. Good to hear that you are OK. You are an inspiration to many others who might decide to follow in your footsteps and do a bit of camping under some trees not far from home while they have been ordered to keep their distance from others.

Great to have you along Mike, all the best Pat

Thanks Antonia, nice time to be out, and many more wild camping plans for this year, all the best Pat
Amazing story Malcolm, hope the camp brought back memories, all the best Pat
Pat you are a Yorkshire legend and much appreciated during these uncertain times.. keep on keeping on
Looks like that could be Eccy Woods Pat?

Nice setup, lots of company from your feathered friends. Thanks for the enjoyable video.
Yes the Spring sounds of a woodland, beautiful, thanks Pat
Great video as usual your in a lovely spot a world on your own just what's needed with what's going on at the moment and the bird song is lovely. I could almost smell that cooking from here always makes me hungry when you start cooking outside. I love cooking outside even the simplest things taste good outside for some reason. I was just thinking you could warm that pan for your pudding and the next minute that's what you did nice one. Stay safe and see you in the next.
Thanks David, my little peice of woodland is where I go when life and what is going on is too much, nice to really with nature all round you, all the best Pat
The intro alone should be looped for a relaxation video.
Another fab video Pat - love your meals too. Hope this Covid-19 malarky doesnt impact on you too much & keep healthy & safe.
Thanks Marty, nice comments, I think it maybe the last wild camp for a while, here,s to happier times all the best Pat
Super wild camp Patrick. The steak looked great. Always wonderful when you can hear owls at night. Twice a year I hear them in my garden but I live in London so lucky to hear them at all.
Nothing better Tim, I gather the rain put my owls off, all the best Pat

Your presentation is great and down to earth and I fully intend to watch all your videos over the next few weeks.
Keep up the good work Patrick.
Thank you Leroy for those kind words, hope you enjoy my vidios, not all wild camping as you will find out, all the best Pat

Once again a Yankee Thank You Pat.. that’s just the type of therapy we needed today.. I pray for all of the people in this world against this newest threat of Covid 19.. May we all help each other thru this. Thank you for getting my mind off it for 29 minutes.. please keep them coming my friend from across the pond.. stay well
Thanks for the caring thought Paul, were all worried things are moving so fast, all bad news, were on a partial lock down, only allowed out for essentials and exercise, looking forward to getting back to the good old days we had a couple of months ago, thanks Pat
Patrick Dickinson .. stay safe my on line friend!! Drink a few pints, cook a few ribeye and press on!! CHEERS!
With what's going on mate you made the right choice. To be honest though there is nothing more I like to watch you do than the wild camps... I enjoy the other stuff, but ur wild camps are great. Fingers crossed to a speedy end to whats happening and you can get off on ur adventures. Until then..... I look forward to the next camp Pat! All the best, Lee
Hi Lee, yes with all this trouble decided to stay close to home, safer, just in case, very worrying, I dream of nights on Kinder Scout in my Soulo tent, all the best Pat
Thanks and so nice to hear from you in these worrying time, the chair made all the difference, such a relaxing camp, forget all the worries of the world for a short time at least, see you soon on the next one, thanks Pat
Just what we need a diversion from all what's going on in the world just now.
Thanks for sharing your camp Patrick, keep safe. Best wishes Brian from North Sheffield.
Thanks Brian, such a peaceful place, thanks Pat
What a way to start the weekend....cheers Pat
Thanks Aidan, going to miss these camps if we are not allowed out, thanks Pat
Patrick Dickinson yes it looks that way, and I’m going to miss the pubs in Heeley ☹️
Thanks for this Pat - much needed here in Pennsylvania. All businesses and schools are now closed due to the virus. So nice to be transported back to the English countryside of my youth!
Thanks Christopher, we are in similar position, basically just been told only go out for food and medicene, and exercise, getting tighter, don,t think I, LL be wild camping for a while, thanks Pat
Thanks, Patrick. Good setup, and the wine of course. 🍷👍
Sort of makes it a nice bottle of wine, not that everybody thinks that way had some real nasty comments that soon got deleted, all the best Pat
