Hi Patrick, It goes to show what ‘being in a peaceful place, or environment’ means to different people. I get solace from sitting alone, at my bench inside my workshop. Nonetheless, Like you, I also enjoy walking in the countryside. In my head, I have a ten out of ten argument with ‘adversaries’; think about my next electronics restoration project, and think about all the possible beautiful women I might have dated during my twenties if I was as bright as what I like to think I am these days - I wish LOL! One reason I enjoy seeing your wild camping ,and subterranean adventures is a sort of alter ego for me in the sense the friends I associated with were content being in the student pubs around the University of Sheffield, Broomhill, and Huntersbar, and I never had confidence to go wild camping alone. You, certainly as a younger person, did the outdoor things I dreamt of doing. Suffice it to say, I recently took a walk not far from Silverdale School ( I went there during the second half of the 1960s), and imagined what it would be like to set up a wild camp in a secluded part of the wooded areas. I have to say, the idea appealed to me immensely, especially if I had my HF handheld transceiver with me LOL. Another enjoyable video my friend. Regards, Phil (the old valve radio man).
Hi Phil remember you from the tip, nice to hear from you again, hope the valve radio restoration is going well, good to have a indoor hobby at this time, the way the country is with worrying virus at the moment. I think we all have things we wish we could of done, but that's part of life, hope everything goes well for you Phil, all the best Pat

Thanks Pat for bringing half an hour of sanity into my life. Never in my wildest dreams did i ever think we would be going through this nightmare. Take care and very best wishes.
Hey Patrick: I always love your videos. In this one, your post-meal pudding prep reminded me of many solo snow bivoucs in Vermont, U.S. in the 70's, preparing pre-meal instant chocolate pudding and burying the pot in snow, then cooking up some steaming noodle side dish, and afterwards pulling out the pudding pot and taking off the lid and, amazed it set so firm, spooning the goodness into me mouth. There is nothing finer!! You are a Taoist British mountain hermit, occasionally coming down off the peak to bring us wisdom and joy. Thank you for that. Cheers!!

Hi Pat, Great to see you again. Many spring sounds, that's wonderful. This is a time that requires creativity, think you've got plenty of that . Stay save, cheers
Another cracking video Pat, could watch it all night, thanks for all your efforts, just what I needed today. Looking forward to more wild camping videos. Thanks Dave.
Hi Kev, yes not far from the Tesco, trying to limit myself to one visit a week, but with 4 of us at home difficult, bought 24 pints of milk, and 4 loves of bread since last Thurs, its nearly all gone, another visit due, luckily we have plenty of woodlands near, though I will be in the garden for next few months I reckon, all the best Pat
Thanks for this Pat. I used to do a lot of wild camping. Once I was in Glen Tilt in the Highlands (days walk from civilisation) and during the night heard a noise in my outer tent. I just had to look and it was a stag licking an empty tin. In the morning it stayed with me and I gave it some breakfast. Friendly chap.
Such a boost getting the notification that Pat had a new video. Brilliant production and content as always and above all, so good to spend some time in his company.
Thanks for those very nice comments, such a happy time, it was Spring, the birds were singing, and coronvirus had not yet got a hold on us, hopefully we return to these happy days soon, all the best Pat
Very Clever filming. 🎥 Loved the camera work. Thanks for being you. Thanks for sharing. Loved it. Stay Well, Hope yer can stay safe for you n yorn in Sheffield 👍🏻 I thought the chair was a wheel barrow at first.
Couple of others thought it was a wheelbarrow haha, really peaceful and relaxing camp, wish I was there now, worrying time , won,t be out for a while, but have a couple of ideas from my garden, thanks Pat
Thank you for another lovely video Pat ... and bringing a little bit of calm to the otherwise stormy world we’re currently inhabiting. The perfect prescription.
Very educative and entertaining. Particularly at this stressfull times. Simple and enjoyable night out. I learnt one doesn't have to camp with loads of items.
Hi Patrick - Thanks again for another great video, I'm happy you're on the mend and back out exploring. I absolutely love the addition of the drone footage - -this really adds to an already great video and really shows the beauty of the countryside. In my COVID quarantine days these are really uplifting. Keep up the good work and please stay safe!
Hi Charlie, yes very challenging times for everybody, got this camp in just before lockdown, very lucky and pleased I did. Still be making videos, but mostly from the garden , all good fun though, and still learning, all the best Pat
The intro alone should be looped for a relaxation video. Another fab video Pat - love your meals too. Hope this Covid-19 malarky doesnt impact on you too much & keep healthy & safe.
Good decision not travelling. Good to hear that you are OK. You are an inspiration to many others who might decide to follow in your footsteps and do a bit of camping under some trees not far from home while they have been ordered to keep their distance from others.
Great video Pat. The problem with watching your videos is I always have a craving for something afterwards. Now I am of to find a steamed pudding and some custard. Keep the videos coming all the best.
Hey Patrick! Good to see you out and about.....isn't that the same bit of woodland where you made the pizza in your homemade oven? Looks very nice. I was wondering, do you happen to know what kinds of birds are singing in the background there? I have no idea what sort of birds are common in your part of the world and their songs are not familiar to me. Too bad you had to cancel your Continental plans but I'm happy you'll be making some videos locally. As you say this is a great time to be by yourself out in the fresh air! EDIT: That was another very nice meal you had there- you Brits certainly do a wonderful job with your puddings or desserts as we say here. We don't have anything like that here, at least nothing you could take camping!
Thanks Dave, lovely comments there, the bird song is from a lot of our common woodland birds, always a Robin about, and various blue tits, great and Coal tits, startled Blackbirds always make a noise, occasional Crow high up in the trees, and Wood pegions in the distance. Should of had the Owls out at night, perhaps they did,not like the rain Yes our diet has some great puddings, try this one again I think, all the best Pat
Sorry to hear about your trips being cancelled, but as you say, it's better to be safe. Great video, very relaxing. I love the local wild camping and the one-pan meal!
Thanks Danielle, made this couple of weeks ago, life seemed pretty safe then, such major changes in the last 2 weeks, life was so good, hopefully it returns to normal soon, thanks Pat
Good to see you again. It’s probably a good idea to shield your lights because you are vulnerable to being mugged out there on your own especially if you're carrying valuable items like toilet rolls. Also, I weighed myself this morning and I’ve gained 2lbs which I put down to watching you eat all that food.
Haha, thanks for the comments Howard, left the valuable toilet rolls locked up at home, pretty safe ín this location, and too much undergrowth to get through to where I,am, all the best Pat
Thanks Shanelle, only a overnighter but got away from the worries of the world for a short time, look after yourself in these worrying times, thanks Pat

Hey Patrick, your videos always cheer me up but given the current situation even more so. Sorry your travel plans have been ruined this year but really good to see you out and camping. Look forward to seeing many more (UK) trips this year. It really is something I look forward to. Stay safe
Great video as usual your in a lovely spot a world on your own just what's needed with what's going on at the moment and the bird song is lovely. I could almost smell that cooking from here always makes me hungry when you start cooking outside. I love cooking outside even the simplest things taste good outside for some reason. I was just thinking you could warm that pan for your pudding and the next minute that's what you did nice one. Stay safe and see you in the next.
Thanks David, my little peice of woodland is where I go when life and what is going on is too much, nice to really with nature all round you, all the best Pat
The bells in the beginning were a nice touch. Defined the location nicely. The birds are getting loud there already. Here in Finland they are still opening their voice.

Hi Pat, I went for a long solo hike yesterday with my tree climbing gear and saddle in a backpack, climbed a couple of fantastic trees near the cliffs with an amazing view out over Puget Sound, and it was great to forget the stress and worry. I am just North of Seattle and the virus is moving steadily towards us here. We have been told now to regard any other person near us as potentially having it. But it was good to get out, breathe some fresh air, and remember to just carry on. We are taking the proper precautions, with no exceptions, but aside from that life goes on and one appreciates each sunny day. Best wishes to you for a safe passage thru this, Pat.
Hi Stewart, lovely to hear from you, missing the outdoors due to lockdown, all for our good and our NHS, like the lull before the storm, such bad news in Italy and Spain, we maybe next. Not seen any of my friends for 2 weeks now, here,s to happier times and camps, all the best Pat
Nice to see you out and about again Patrick, I'm hoping to do some similar style camping this year, recently bought a hammock and tarp to try out some hammock camping as well as the little tent I got last year inspired by watching your videos. I look forward to seeing more over the next season.

But as far as I can tell you made this well before the warnings. People are sure cray these days. Hopefully we won’t be cooped up for too long. Back out soon. Atb.
Britains most common owl the teatowl
Haha
Wishing you and your family all the best of health Pat.
Much appreciated that, thanks Pat
So this is where Dominic Cummings lives now.
Must have a look at him, thanks Pat
You don't need to travel into Europe Pat, there's so many beautiful places within the UK, you are the star of these videos.
Thanks Darren, would of been nice nipping off to Berlin or Milan, suppose it will wait until later, thanks Pat
Bloody hell it’s Dominic Cummings moonlighting from his job as Boris’ right hand hatchet man.
I thought we hadn’t seen much of him lately, now we know where he’s hanging out!
Hi Phil, now its Compo, thanks Pat

Hi Pat, did you hear about the woman that fell asleep on the synagogue steps?
She woke up with a heavy Jew on her.
There,s a lot of heavy new about at this time of the year, thanks Pat
Perfect timing to cheer us all up in the current pandemic hysteria. Favourite time of the year in the UK when the bluebells are out with their gentle fragrance. Brings back many happy memories growing up down in the South West of England. Great video as always and look forward to your next one . Cheers Pat. Stay safe and healthy .ATB from a sunny and locked down Malaysia 😎😷😷
Hi Razif, were same here, locked down, still allowed out for shopping and one exercise a day so not too bad, anything to help get things sorted and return to normal, all the best Pat
sorry for the dislike patch. much respect but you should stay the fuck home and stop putting yourself and everyone else at risk my friend. it really is that serious. we have a thousands of idiots trying to go camping in cornwall, wales and scotland. don't be like them.
all the best and stay safe brother.
It's 400 m from my house, were is the risk ?
@@patrickdickinson6492 the risk is that you are not complying to the order to stay the fuck home. we all have to do it or the health system we rely on will no cope. you included. the risk, other than the negligible risk to yourself. is that you are not only breaking the protocol. you are inspiring other people to do the same by publishing your activities. i'm watching all these fools that are have flocked to the sea side in droves and they are all individuals looking for some space just like you. sorry to rant but it is an issue. we're gong to have to have martial law if people won't just stay the fuck home.
put it this way. the rest of us are all doing this so you don't drown in your own lung butter. have a bit of respect.
@@andypaterson1639 i would not have put it quite so eloquently myself. lol.
but yeah we've all just got to do it. it's a little bit serious. all of us.
Andy Paterson as far as I can tell this was filmed before the “dont travel and stay home” ADVICE was issued ??? I was out Saturday before it was issued. I headed straight home upon hearing it however there were swarms heading TOWARDS the lakes.
I don't know if you saw me. But I waved back. Stay safe and, keep on camping! We'll keep watching! Sorry that this virus has changed things up for you. Hopefully it will be back to a little more normal soon. You're resourceful and talented with your videoing. I know that I'm always glad to see any new content from you. You never disappoint. Thank you for sharing a part of your day with us!
Thank you such lovely comments, going to miss my adventures and sharing them on You Tube, but, I do have a few ideas up my sleeve, untill next time thanks Pat
Tell me about the blue bells, Spanish or Native. Tell me about where you are and what you think about it and anything else. Watching you cook and eat is ...well...boring. Sorry.
Hi lovely woodland location the Blue bells with be an amazing blaze of colour soon, reminds me of my childhood, playing in the woods.
Glad I got this camp in before we were lockdown came in, looking forward to freedom once again, look after yourself, thanks Pat

Thanks Tony, lovely spot to spend the night, all the best Pat
Hi Pat, Great to see you again. Many spring sounds, that's wonderful. This is a time that requires creativity, think you've got plenty of that . Stay save, cheers

Your very welcome, a bit if tranquility in a mad world, all the best Pat
Another cracking vid. I'm sure I saw you at Tesco Millhouses, Patrick. Again!
I've a rough idea where you are here.
Another fine video Pat, really enjoyed it, good on yer mate.......Jack.
Thanks 👍 Jack, looking forward to getting back out one day, thanks Pat
just what we all needed a great relaxing video from Patrick, thanks for all your effort and be safe in these crazy times.
Your very welcome Mick
good video Patrick i love watching these vids and the places u go
Your very welcome Johnny
Thanks for this Pat. I used to do a lot of wild camping. Once I was in Glen Tilt in the Highlands (days walk from civilisation) and during the night heard a noise in my outer tent. I just had to look and it was a stag licking an empty tin. In the morning it stayed with me and I gave it some breakfast. Friendly chap.
Amazing story Malcolm, hope the camp brought back memories, all the best Pat
Looked liked you'd brought a wheelbarrow with you beginning of the video 🤣 was your new chair.
Cheers again great video 👍
Haha, a few have said the same, must admit, getting older and the seat transformed the camp, thanks Pat
Another enjoyable vid. Pat. Worth it for the amazing birdsong alone🙂 Bot of a moral booster for us. Thanks for posting. Stay safe Pat!
Thanks Maggie, such a beautiful sound, worrying times, I dream of nights in my tent high in the hills, and everything is OK, thanks Pat
Such a boost getting the notification that Pat had a new video. Brilliant production and content as always and above all, so good to spend some time in his company.
Thanks Pete, nice to have you along, maybe last wild camp for a while, as we have been banished indoors, all the best Pat
I've just discovered this channel - what bliss to find so much lovely Nature & good cheer! Many thanks. Take care & all good wishes. :)
Thanks for those very nice comments, such a happy time, it was Spring, the birds were singing, and coronvirus had not yet got a hold on us, hopefully we return to these happy days soon, all the best Pat

Thanks Darren, and this was relaxing, maybe last one for a while, all the best Pat
Very Clever filming. 🎥 Loved the camera work.
Thanks for being you. Thanks for sharing.
Loved it.
Stay Well, Hope yer can stay safe for you n yorn in Sheffield 👍🏻
I thought the chair was a wheel barrow at first.
Couple of others thought it was a wheelbarrow haha, really peaceful and relaxing camp, wish I was there now, worrying time , won,t be out for a while, but have a couple of ideas from my garden, thanks Pat
Resourceful as ever our Pat 👍🏻
Thank you for another lovely video Pat ... and bringing a little bit of calm to the otherwise stormy world we’re currently inhabiting. The perfect prescription.
Thanks Paul, yes wish I was up on Kinder Scout now, maybe in a few
months, all the best Pat
Very educative and entertaining. Particularly at this stressfull times. Simple and enjoyable night out.
I learnt one doesn't have to camp with loads of items.
Yes, very worrying times, glad I got this camp in before lockdown, dreaming of better days to come, all the best Pat
Hi Pat is these troubled times it's nice to see that your making the best of it bringing another great video for us to watch, all the best stay safe!
Yes enjoyed this one lucky to get it in before lockdown, all the best Pat
Hi Patrick - Thanks again for another great video, I'm happy you're on the mend and back out exploring. I absolutely love the addition of the drone footage - -this really adds to an already great video and really shows the beauty of the countryside. In my COVID quarantine days these are really uplifting. Keep up the good work and please stay safe!
Hi Charlie, yes very challenging times for everybody, got this camp in just before lockdown, very lucky and pleased I did.
Still be making videos, but mostly from the garden , all good fun though, and still learning, all the best Pat
I love your videos Patrick, they are warming for the soul. Just a bloke enjoying the outdoors, good honest fun. Keep up the good work!
Yes some of the simple pleasures oblige are the best, thanks Pat
Always look forward, and thankful for your adventures Patrick. Thanks a bunch.
Your very welcome, thanks Pat
The intro alone should be looped for a relaxation video.
Another fab video Pat - love your meals too. Hope this Covid-19 malarky doesnt impact on you too much & keep healthy & safe.
Thanks Marty, nice comments, I think it maybe the last wild camp for a while, here,s to happier times all the best Pat
Good decision not travelling. Good to hear that you are OK. You are an inspiration to many others who might decide to follow in your footsteps and do a bit of camping under some trees not far from home while they have been ordered to keep their distance from others.
Thanks Bruce, yes not the right time for Kinder wanted to camp so near to home but still a wild camp, looking forward to happier times, thanks Pat
The nicest man on RUclips. As always inspiring, many thanks Pat.
Really kind, looks like it's going to be the garden for the next few months, got a few ideas, thanks Pat
Great video Pat. The problem with watching your videos is I always have a craving for something afterwards. Now I am of to find a steamed pudding and some custard. Keep the videos coming all the best.
Yes a lot of my videos seem to feature, food, all the best Pat
@@patrickdickinson6492 It's great to see you cooking good meals when out 👍👍👍💖
Hey Patrick!
Should of had the Owls out at night, perhaps they did,not like the rain
Yes our diet has some great puddings, try this one again I think, all the best Pat
Lovely! Listening to that birdsong was just what I needed.
Yes a true sign Spring is not far away, thanks Pat
Thankyou for sharing pat enjoyed your video stay safe and to anyone else reading this
Thanks Shanelle, only a overnighter but got away from the worries of the world for a short time, look after yourself in these worrying times, thanks Pat
you do a hell of a good job with the videos. keep it up. like the climbing vids mostly. 26.9k subs are proof of your work here, keep smiling my friend and love life.
Thanks for that, I had a tree camp planned for May, not sure id we will still be restricted with our movement still then, might have to be a comp in the garden, thanks Pat
Hey Patrick, your videos always cheer me up but given the current situation even more so. Sorry your travel plans have been ruined this year but really good to see you out and camping. Look forward to seeing many more (UK) trips this year. It really is something I look forward to. Stay safe
Thanks Andy, great to be out even near to home like this, maybe the garden next it can,t go out, thanks Pat
Yes, felt very Spring like out there, very few people visit the woods, so the birds feel safe, all the best Pat
Another Brilliant Video Pat! The pudding idea looked lovely. Sorry you didn't get to go to Europe but please keep the videos coming and ad some joviality to these odd times. All the best and see you soon!
Yes Europe can wait, hopefully next year, camping this year, maybe in the garden though the way things are going, thanks Pat
Pat. I haven’t watched the video yet but thanks again for posting. I look out everyday fir new videos. Fantastic. Stay safe and well and thanks again for a few minutes of quality time. Cheers . Mike.👍
Thanks Mike, a vidio on happier time, just before lockdown, it was so good then, hére,s to those times returning, thanks Pat
Another great adventure, thanks Patrick, luv your trips👍
Great to have you along Mike, all the best Pat
what a great spot for a wild camp Pat. I thought you did yourself proud with dinner and pudding made me feel quite hungry.
thanks for the excellent video , much respect, H
Thanks Hugh, nice comments, going to miss these camps while we are all house bound, looking forward good times again, thanks Pat
New subscriber I’m enjoying catching up on your videos. Looking forward to your next one. Fantastic channel.
Hi Patrick, some fantastic landscàpes out there to put on canvas, and if you look at my underground explores, some beautiful underground tunnels, appreciate the subscription, thanks Pat
Patrick Dickinson thanks for the reply. I was hoping to combine cycle touring , wild camping and painting if I could successfully do all 3 activities together I’d be very happy I will checkout all your videos. Love your no nonsense, no ego approach .
Nice setup, lots of company from your feathered friends. Thanks for the enjoyable video.
Yes the Spring sounds of a woodland, beautiful, thanks Pat
*So restful :-) I am very happy to see you have now got a chair.Your fav pudding is the same as mine.Love your very high tech toy & how it can track you through the woods. Very clever :-) Thank you Patrick
Your very welcome, and that chair made for a very comfortable camp, thanks Pat
Cheers mate. Nothing like a bit of outdoors to recharge your soul!
Yes felt so good afterwards, thanks Pat
Porridge and golden syrup? You wanna get a collaboration goin with that KliksPhillip lad. Another stealth master of wholesome content, mostly them videogames but he sure likes a bit of fresh air now and again.
Can,t beat Porridge and golden syrup for a warm, filling, tasty breakfast, thanks Pat
I dunno, marmalade's a pretty close second!
The pleasure of a simple adventure during difficult times - enjoyed watching this whilst self-isolated in my flat in Sharrow. Cheers Pat!
Thanks Chris, hope all works out OK,......thanks Pat
15:42 "The most it can do is explode" I know its only a pudding but it made me laugh!
Thanks for a really cheery spring video Patrick; if I am forced to stay in, I will be working through your catalogue of excellent videos to keep me smiling.
Your very welcome to look at my videos, as I,am staying at home I may look at them myself, all the best Pat
You will love it out there, safest place to be at the moment, all the best Pat
Pat you are a Yorkshire legend and much appreciated during these uncertain times.. keep on keeping on
Looks like that could be Eccy Woods Pat?
Hi Steve, yes , about right with Eccy woods, will be camping soon one way or the other, in the garden if it comes to it, thanks Pat
